    a variety of doughnuts
    Sasha M.

Passing by and it caught my inner fat girl eye. It was a rainy cold morning so what's a better comfort food than a donut and coffee? The shop is located on 101st and st Clair, not the greatest of neighborhoods but that has zero to do with the business, just be sure to be a little more cautious when walking. The shop is quant and cute and welcoming. They have a tall counter, good social distancing protocol and a very clear and visible menu. Now on to the food right? So they serve chicken and donuts and coffee, how could they mess that up right? Wrong...I ordered six total donuts. A coconut one, frosted with sprinkles, two glazed, a cream cheese and cinnamon bun. The coconut has NO coconut flavoring despite being covered in coconut flakes. The frosted with sprinkles was atrocious, like it was literally the same 99c sprinkles I get at Walmart for my own sweet concoctions, no taste again. I feel like they just buy the donuts from giant eagle or something and dip them in a "topping" and call it their own. My coffee tasted burnt, there was no pizazz or nice coffee bar/menu features The staff was helpful however they were a bit off putting when they kept trying to get my number despite multiple warnings I was not single. I probably wouldn't return here because the donuts were legit some Walmart donuts with topping, the coffee was burnt and the staff was a bit Pervy.

The donuts are expensive. I don't mind expensive if the flavor lives up to the price. This place fails on both accounts

Terrapin is wonderful. Cool, friendly staff that care about running a local, sustainable business…read more I appreciate a shop that runs on a "we've got it until we sell out" model. Never a doubt that what you're getting is fresh. So what do they run out of sometimes? Donuts. They have the most unique donuts in Cleveland. They're not decked out in over-the-top toppings, which are always better in theory than taste. Instead, these all follow the same format. Basic chewy donut with interesting flavor combinations and simple complementary toppings. Last time we were in they had lavender lemon, peanut butter banana and key lime coconut, among about 7-8 others. Highly recommend the key lime. Let's talk about the breakfast burritos. The size of a baby. A delicious baby. They're stuffed with a lot of ingredients and they all work together. The breakfast sandwiches are good too, though I am burrito from here on out. Breakfast ends at 11, heads up. They have a few tables in there but mostly keep up a steady stream of to-go traffic picking up breakfast, bakery items and coffees (they use Phoenix beans).

Tried both cake and yeast donuts again years later today. The cake donuts were hit or miss-…read moreAll flavorful indeed, and some with a wonderful crispy outside. The pb banana was a winner for sure. But generally they are all very dense and almost too cakey- thick and dry in the mouth in a not great, heavy way. But still way better than the yeast donuts which should be skipped altogether. All of the four or so yeast donuts I tried were big grease laden heavy extremely bready misses. Dry, thick, chewy in a way that was more like a large piece of fried bread loaf than a light fluffy donut. Just bad in texture all around. The frosting and flavor were still there which is nice. Service was super friendly and the inside is quite cute with lots of alt flair and stickers everywhere. They just need to use a lot less flour instead of making heavy bready loafy donuts. GUYS. I had to add another star. I tried the giant ho-ho they sell and I have forgiven their earlier trespasses against donuts! This thing tastes almost like a real ho ho except a slight hint of bittersweet in the chocolate coating. Creamy inside. Chocolatey everywhere and the cake isn't too dense or dry! Get one! Wow! I took a picture of mine but I already decimated it because it was so good.
