The actual food is the only thing that actually saved this review. It was killer hot in the restaurant, they were out of ice and almost ever drink in the fountain including the teas. There seemed to only be 2 maybe three people working. One in the front and maybe two in the back. The food around 20 minutes to be ready which seems like a really long time for fast food. They made the burger wrong, and we have to get it remade. Unfortunately, no one was at the front for over 5 minutes, and we have to call out to someone in the back. Then they made the replacement burger in less than 3 minutes, not sure why it took so long the first time. The food itself was good, fries needed some salt and pepper. Chalking this to a bad day as most fat burgers I go to are bomb. Overall 2/5 stars.

    Charred Patty, inedible

If you thought the previous owner was bad, wait till you try this newly reopened Fatburger. Just ordered a regular Fatburger with cheese and I couldn't get past two bites. Literally tasted like the patty had been on the grill for 30 minutes and was completely charred to a crisp. Won't be coming back here again. Buyer be warned, there are other reviews about the quality and their cook/food is definitely not quality.

Came here for the very first time with my gf , had a little problem with payment device but staff was awesome and patient, cashier named Adrian was very helpful and I think a cook was also very attentive, I got the original burger , great price , meat was nice and seasoned well, shakes are super good I highly recommend, my gf got the banana one and she loved it , I had to get one for myself too.

I saved what the dogs didn't touch. So sad.

Went there today. Order Cajun and BBQ wings with French fries. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!! 100000% HORRIBLE.. overdone wings and the chicken inside looked like shreds of chicken put together. The blue cheese and the ranch dressings tasted bad as well. Honestly, you know it's bad if even my dogs wouldn't eat it. I ordered in, but they gave me a bag to go. Now I know why, they don't want you to see the horrible food. The guy taking orders was so obviously to anything. Don't eat there.

Original Fatburger (1/3 lb.), dry, flavorless, almost McDonald Hamburgeresque

A picture is worth a thousand words, so look at what they tried to pass as food. The service was friendly, so I guess 2 stars is appropriate, but barely. The buns were dry, stale, old and flakey on both the burger and kid's hot dog. The burger tasted like an old McDonald's hamburger, only worse. The hot dog was inedible, burnt to a crisp. The fries were ok, and the best part of the meal which isn't saying much. I wasn't going to post a review but given their ridiculous prices, the quality control at this place needs to be addressed. Maybe the convenience of having a burger spot in the food court of the outlets keeps this place alive, but I recommend everyone just go down the street to In & Out, save money and your tastebuds from having to endure this poor excuse for a burger joint.

Beautiful new FatBurger in Camarillo. Great location and design. Very impressed with bar seating, TVs and draft beers. Draft beers include the 805, Figueroa and Topa Topa beers. My meal was excellent as always. I had the regular burger with chili. Love their chili. They had four people working so service was the best. What I didn't like. The pricing of food is a little higher than other FatBurgers. I typically pay about $12 for a combo meal at FB. Today I paid over $14 for the same meal. Higher pricing maybe since restaurant is in a large high end outlet outdoor shopping mall in Camarillo. Enjoy

The burger had something sweet, either sweet pickles or relish, and personally I didn't taste very good, but my friend and mom devoured their burgers . The fat fries were very delicious. The cashier was very nice. The ambience was meh, I probably wouldn't eat here again. It was okay.

I used to drive all the way to Thousand Oaks because that was the nearest Fatburger to Oxnard. Now that one has opened in Camarillo, thank goodness! I know it's not as popular as In and Out, but to me Fatburger is a better burger. They know how to make a burger taste delicious with only mustard as the sauce. No ketchup, mayo, or secret sauce needed. The meat is very well seasoned. And they add relish which makes it different from all other burgers out there. And if you're like me, you'll want a good size portion like the Kingburger. That's perfection! Not too big and not too small. And for those that have a bigger appetite, they have even bigger size burgers for you. Can't forget to mention about the fries. They have both Fat Fries and Skinny fries, but I love the Fat ones. They aren't too salty, and they are fried perfectly. And what's unique is that they are crunchy at the ends but soft in the middle. So good! Lastly , the prices are on the high side compared to In and Out and other burger places, but I think it's worth it. With gas prices being so high, I do save a little now that I don't have to go to Thousand Oaks. Highly recommend, check it out!

Buyer beware! Double the price! Ridiculous!

Double the price for vegan shakes?! $4.99 for regular and $10.99 for vegan? I ask why and the associate says "because they are more expensive than normal products". "Normal?"!!! What??! First of all, there is no way in hell this isn't a complete money grab! It is not that much of an increase! Second, it is wrong to imply that someone's food choice isn't "normal". There needs to be a MAJOR reconsideration of this pricing. It is wrong and insulting.

    Honey garlic wings

Stopped here as a quick lunch break from black friday shopping. I wasn't really in the mood for a burger, so I opted for the wings instead. I got the small 6pc with honey garlic sauce. It took a while to get my order which was understandable. The wings themselves were alright -- decent size, but lacked the flavor and crispness that I usually expect when I order wings. It filled me up, but nothing too spectacular.

The restaurant itself is fairly small and feels intimate. With so few tables, I think a reservation is a god idea. Ely, our server, came by right away to get our drink orders and answer questions about the menu. With a warm smile, she makes you feel very welcome. The paella is only served on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Three of us decided to share the shrimp tacos ($17). The dish has 3 small soft shell tacos with shrimp and tomato slivers (see photo) and a sauce - delish! Then came the paella ($55). Brought to the table in a hot skillet. Terrific presentation (see photo). Saffron rice covered with a ton of pork, chicken and sausage, a cut open cooked lime, and other goodies. WOW!!! Terrific dish. The menu describes it as feeding 2. We were 3 hungry diners and didn't come close to being able to finish it. My friend, the non-paella eater, ordered the salmon ($30). Huge piece of salmon over a bed of what appeared to be sautéed veggies. Beautiful presentation (sorry, forgot to photo) and he said it was delish. Lovely ambiance, excellent attentive service, outstanding food at reasonable prices. We will be back. Definitely for the meat paella.

With $2.68 in tax, the total was $39.68 before tip. Despite the word "tavern" in the name, this place is family friendly. During our visit, there were two large group gatherings (with kids) happening at the same time. The interior is spacious but can get noisy due to the hard surfaces. However, when the weather cooperates, there are outdoor patios available in both the front and back. Although the color palette of the interior décor is dark, the space feels clean and comfortable. There's a variety of seating options--booths, tables, high-tops, and communal tables. I'm sure the pastries on the menu came from a third-party vendor, but they were really good. (Edit to follow.) * The business owner informs me that the pastries are actually made in house! They are very good--so save room for dessert. * Our server Julie was a great hostess.

I don't think there's a bad seat in the house, but we always love to sit outside so that we have a really good view of the aircraft coming and going. I tried the BLT and, oh my!!! One of the best I've had, with lots of thick cut bacon, very crisp, lots of lettuce, tomato and mayo (I ordered it as-is). Half was the size of a regular sandwich so the other half went home with me! RRR ordered the triple decker club on sourdough and loved his as well. Half of his went home also. We both got the cole slaw as our side which has a little pineapple in it. I found it ok, RRR really liked it. We shared a special milkshake, pistachio, and it was heavenly, highly recommended. Service was perfect, there when needed but not overbearing. We so appreciate well-trained staff! Highly recommended.

Today we had to be out of the house due to Edison maintenance in your neighborhood. We were originally headed for Ojai, but we were hungry and didn't want to wait that long to get food. I suggested Waypoint since it was a weekday and hopefully wouldn't be that crowded. We hit them just before a lunch rush came along about 30 minutes later. it's probably been a while, but their ordering procedure has changed since the last time we were there. Now you enter, go to the host stand, and order and pay there. Then they give you a number for your order and a host takes you out to a table. It's a variation on fast casual. The idea is that they will start cooking your food as soon as you pay, and the process will flow smoothly from there. They have a lot of runners bringing out the food, and offering additional condiments or other things you might need, like more water or napkins. There are several reasons that I'm downgrading the rating from a previous visit. $18 for a plain Belgian waffle? No fruit, garnish, whipped cream, just melted butter and a very small amount of syrup. It looked more substantial because we added eggs and bacon for $3 more. The latter seems like a good deal, because the eggs were well prepared. Only two slices of bacon, though. DH and I split the plate. $21 for a plain waffle, scrambled eggs, and two pieces of bacon does seem excessive. We added a side of hash browns, which were plentiful, but were also oily. I don't remember having hash browns in another restaurant which were that greasy, so that was a fail. $9 for two cups of decaf coffee? That also seemed on the high side, especially when a tiny (and I do mean tiny!) addition of oat milk for creamer was $1.50. Really? And yet, they offered mini portions of hazelnut or French vanilla creamer for free. But we didn't know that ahead of time. A large glass of lukewarm pineapple juice was $6. I had to ask for a glass of ice cubes to be able to chill the juice down to where it tasted good. By the way, the waffle was slightly overcooked for my preference, making it more crunchy than I enjoy. Overall, it was $50 for a breakfast that DH and I split, just adding the hash browns and juice to stretch the meal. Service was good. It was the kitchen that let down the team. Also, ambiance-wise, the airport has added a large row of hangars to the northwest of the restaurant, which dramatically cuts down the view of the planes taking off and landing. That's actually another fail for the appeal of dining here. It's likely going to be a while before we return. Sad to report today's experience, but that's what it turned out to be - not the lovely little secret getaway of the past.
