Wowww the food here is incredible. Huge portions with fresh ingredients, made with obvious care and really delicious and elevated flavors. Eveyrthing I got in my order was probably the best version of classic dishes. The amount and variety of veggies per dish was also something I really appreciated! Amongst other things I got the salmon salad which is gorgeous and hard to photo because theres a LOT of salmon in it but it's under all the lovely parsley/veg. Salads can sometimes be a little boring or unsatisfying but I was literally going MM!! with every bite of theirs-- and I could only eat half before getting full, which astonished me because I can eat a lot! Lastly their pickles are SO GOOD. I ordered the pickled veggies not really knowing what they'd be or what amount but again, very substantial portion, great variety of veggies, crunchy, and super tasty brine, and once more, a familiar flavor but with a little something extra that makes it super tasty and special! I used to work in Old Town and get the chicken Caesar at least once a week. After three different incidents finding hair or bugs in my food, I stopped coming. Today I was thinking of giving this place another chance so I opened yelp and searched "hair" and "bug" in the reviews. I can see that things haven't changed. Wish it could be different so I could eat here! Their food is really good except for the hair and bugs. Wash your lettuce! Wear hairnets! This has been one of our go-to spots for healthy lunch and dinner takeout since 2018. I really like their lavash wraps with falafel and eggplant, while my husband has been a big fan of their chicken wraps and seasoned fries. We have also enjoyed their foole soup, peppers, baklava, hummus, and garlic sauce. Especially for Old Pasadena, the prices are very reasonable, and a good value with large portions. Unfortunately, our most recent order was not very good. The produce did not seem as fresh, the lavash was drier and falling apart (it didn't have the elasticity that it normally does), the falafel was very dry and flavorless, and the seasoned fries were plain. Some of the small containers of garlic sauce and hummus were also missing. We recognize that even good places have bad days every once in a while. Hurts me to write a 3-star review update, but Father Nature just isn't as good as I remember. Service was pretty mid; while the woman at the counter said all the right things, her tone and overall vibe just didn't feel welcoming. To be fair, I did come in after the lunch rush, so maybe it was just a long day. What really bummed me out was my order. The French Connection used to be my favorite, but this time it had way less filling and just wasn't satisfying. I also ordered a cup of chicken, which was the same small serving as before, but now it's almost $8; not really worth it for what you get. This café in old town Pasadena has been around since 1984. I personally have been going there for at least 16 years as it was down the street from my previous office. There are so many Middle Eastern cafés and restaurants in town, but this one always stood out to me. It is extremely fresh and flavorful they make the food after you order and Service is warm and friendly. The quality has never wavered and trust me, I have eaten here many times. I enjoy their pressed wraps, but especially love the fries. I am picky about fries, but these are always made to order and always just perfect. It has a Middle Eastern seasoning on it which you can opt to leave off. I love them with a dipping sauce of spicy tahini, which they will provide if you ask. You can of course get it non-spicy as well. Their menu can satisfy many different diets including vegetarian/vegan, keto/low carb, pescatarian and meat eaters It's just extremely reliable and high-quality and I plan on continuing to be a regular customer. read more

Been here at least four times. Everything is delicious and fresh ! You can't go wrong with anything including their fish. One thing tho, don't use their app and just call them. Their system won't take any of the orders even tho your credit card is charged. Parking is difficult but you can always find parking structures in old town Pasadena. Update: the owner claimed that the app is working fine. I disagree and the employees would tell you that they never receive orders. It happened to me twice. It came with tomato, onion, parsley, garlic aioli, and a spicy red pepper spread. My friends and I also got hummus and a side of falafel to share. The food came out fast and everything was delicious! The wrap was like a panini-pressed gyro. The meat was tender, the red pepper spread gave it a great kick, and the fresh parsley really added a pop of flavor. I've worked near Old Town Pasadena for over 10 years and never knew about this gem! I ended up moving companies and everyone in the office was all about this place. I gave it try and I pretty much eat here once a week now. My go to is double pleasure with a side a fries. The wrap is literally a size of an adults arm and easily lasts two meals. Fries are delicious too! Service is average during the lunchtime hour so definitely recommend ordering ahead in you are in a rush. As soon as I paid she yelled NEXT. Not, thank you, we will call you when it's ready. Just a very cold NEXT. Once I got my food, I enjoyed it, I said the food made up for the horrible service. Then I walked up to ask for a cup of water, she said no water. I said what do you mean no water, how do you not have water in a restaurant. She said you want water you have to buy a bottle of water. You have a walk-in customer that you paid 0 dollars acquisition costs. You need two things in a restaurant, good service and good food. You really messed up on the service part. (I did not eat here, this review is based on my experience) I was really looking forward to trying this place, but the experience left me disappointed. The menu is pretty overwhelming, so I stepped aside to take some time to read through it. Once we were ready, we went up to the register to order. From the moment we stepped in (Sunday around 1:30pm), the woman at the counter was on the phone the entire time, yelling while she talked to a family or friend. She let us know she'd help us "in a bit" and continued her conversation while slowly moving around the kitchen. Eventually, she came over to take our order, but even then, she stayed on the phone yelling. Since the menu is large, we had a few questions, but her answers were rushed so she could continue her phone conversation. It honestly felt like we were inconveniencing her just by being there. The whole interaction made the experience feel unwelcoming, and based on other reviews, it sounds like this seems to be a pattern. I've never walked out of a place and I could not handle the interaction and had to leave. I'd suggest checking out other spots where the experience feels a bit more inviting. read more

I ordered a large amount of food for our team yesterday at work. Ordering and service was wonderful- I was able to share my budget and number of people and they were able to put together an order for pickup later that day, saving me the stress of choosing individual items and taking out the guess work out. Pick up was easy, despite clearly being very popular and busy with people ordering lunch. When I was ordering, I shared this was my first time here and that my regular place had closed. She assured me she was confident we would love their food so much, they would become our new go-to Mediterranean place. The result - Our team loved the food. Those who eat vegan and vegetarian loved the options and flavors while those who eat meat said there was just the right amount of vegetable to meat ratio in their wraps.
