We kind of went out of the way to come to Fattoush far out into the burbs to try their Friday lunch buffet. Upon arriving at 11am, lunch was not ready so we told them well be back at 12. That's a little late to start lunch and a waste of a precious hour for an out of towner. We ordered a hot tea which was nothing spectacular about a green tea Lipton bag in a saucer. Buffet selection is limited, but good. The hummus and baba ganoush was excellent. Nicely flavored with a creamy and chunky consistency. Salad was salad, I needed some vegetables since I found the selections quite carb, starch, and protein heavy. Chicken dishes were delicious and it was like a flavor Mecca. Nothing tasted similar. The swarma meat wasn't too dry and I even braved the lamb intestines stuffed with a rice mixture. Yes it will disgust some, but it was probably the cleanest, non-gamey intestines that I'll ever try. Just get over the textural thing and I assure you these have a little bite and snap to them like a bratwurst. Only thing they had for dessert was coconut cake which was too dry and sweet for my likings. I would give it 4 stars, but I had to hold back on the price since I couldn't justify almost a $18/pp lunch. Otherwise great service and a good way to sample new foods. read more

Here is my comments on service and food: The meat was over cooked except the chicken. The food was unusually spicey. The fatoush salad looked good but lacked freshness. Barely I saw cucumber or tomato. There was no fresh lemon served with lentil soup. The tea and lemon with mint juice was superb. The service was fast and smooth. The server was passionate and loyal to the restaurant and its reputation. However, the server was argumentative and very unresponsive to reasonable critique. The kenafeh was not available because of a party early that day. My suggestions are to inquire how much spicy the customers like their food. Provide options beside rice . For ex. The first time I visited this establishment in early summer of this year, I had an amazing time. The hookah was fresh, food was great, and service was amazing. Around 9pm yesterday, my boyfriend and I tried it again and we were greatly disappointed. Service was extremely slow, our hookahs were sent back twice because of poor flavor and flimsy installment (his fresh grapefruit head was bulky and barely covered by the foil given, he had to beg for fresh coals; my flavor tasted like black licorice after requesting a change TWICE, leaving me to change flavors altogether) and flies were all over the place and several tables were not clean although no one was there. When they decided to close (without notification) all of a sudden, music gets cut off and we're given our check. We pay and leave the dining area shortly after. We sit in our cars to talk before leaving the parking lot. We think nothing of it, and as we leave, a cop walks up to my car, and flashes a light in my face saying that someone called to report a suspicious car. I explain that we were patrons just before the establishment closed and that we were just leaving. I am grateful this experience did not end in my boyfriend and I losing our lives, but we will not be returning to this establishment. To have poor service and subpar food is one thing, but to call the police on your patrons AFTER they have respectfully dined in and paid your establishment is tasteless. After weeks of driving by this place and seeing all of the smoke from them grilling outside, I was more than curious to give this place a try! I decided to come after work with a few family members to see what this place was all about. I of course checked Yelp before I came, and all of the reviews seemed to be pretty consistent. So we arrive and everyone is super excited to try the food. The parking lot is a little strange and kind of tight, but who cares we're there to eat not park haha. There are two sides of the restaurant (main restaurant and I believe the other side was the hookah lounge). We were immediately greeted after walking in, and seated shortly after. After a quick skim of the menu we decide to ask for some suggestions to learn about guest favorites, most flavorful dish, etc. The waitress is very helpful, and actually takes the time to go through most of the menu items. Between the three of us, we ordered the red snapper, shish kabobs and kufta kabobs with meat and cheese filled arayes to start. I did notice that the price for the red snapper was a little higher than most other places I had been to, but considering how much I enjoy it, I didn't really care haha. Not too long after we order, our appetizers and first courses are out (hummus, salad, pita, arayes). Everything is great! Hummus has a nice flavor, arayes are nice and crispy outside, and the pita is warm and fluffy. We stuff our faces, and are ready to see what our main dishes will be like. Our dishes arrive and everything looks great! I take pics, of course, and after doing so I notice that the red snapper is probably one of the smallest I've ever seen. Still eager to try the food, I convince myself that the flavor will make up for the size, and the amount of rice on the dish will fill me up! I take my first bite of the fish and I was underwhelmed. The flavor just wasn't there! It was cooked OK, but just not how I was used to it. I pour some lemon on it to try to bring out the flavor, but still no luck. The rest of the dish (mainly rice) was pretty good, and everyone else seemed to be enjoying their food. Overall I would probably give the place a 3.5. We did spend a good portion of the time swatting away flies and gnats, but the owner or manager(not sure which one) came to apologize and explain the reasons behind it. The appetizers were great, and the food, to me,  was just OK. For the price I paid for the red snapper, I expected more, but I don't doubt that I'll be back to give it another try and maybe test something else. read more

We came here based on the yelp ratings and a recommendation from a friend and it was spot on. We had dinner late and got to the restaurant around 8 pm and the place was hopping. We got a table right away and out server was there to take care of us. Food took a bit to arrive because they were so busy, but it was worth the wait. Yum! Don't pass this place up if you're in town. The lunch Friday buffet is the biggest scam I ever seen, the food was only the left overs food from before and they just heated it, nothing from what they promise on their website. the following was not on the buffet as they promised. I was visiting my family in Chicago with some friends and we wound of at this spot after Yelping for some Mediterranean/Arabic food. The decor and the culture found at this restaurant was out of this world. I loved the music, the style, the greetings and service that the employees here provided here. We were definitely in the suburbs and I did not realize there was such a strong middle eastern styled gem located here. My company and I got the hummus and pita bread to start with because we wanted something good for appetizers. I loved how warm and good the pita bread was and the how creamy the hummus is. I also loved that there were so many choices of seafood to choose from. I got the fillet of tilapia with falafels and it was to so rich in flavor. I only eat seafood so I was looking forward to my dish. The tilapia was grilled amazingly and so fresh. I can tell the cook put a lot of thought into it. The food did take while to come out, (maybe the cook was putting extra love and care into our dishes) and the restaurant was quite empty for it being dinner time. But the food was delicious and I would definitely return here again. This is a great place to bring family and friends to for an experience especially because it isn't too busy at all. Worst customer service, and I'm usually the last one to complain. The platter for 6 looked embarrassing. Definitely didn't have the 18 skewers I asked to have . I was so shocked and embarrassed to mention anything to the server in front of my guest and didn't want to cause a scene . I asked for the food to be ready by 7 and they brought it out at 7:40. Asked for 3 orders of kibbeh and falafel since the food didn't look like it was enough and they came back with 1 side of kibbeh . Hookahs took forever.
