The quality of the food is much better. I had rolled tacos with rice and beans. The beans were not salty at all and the rice was cooked perfectly. We've been eating here about twice a month since they opened. I always order cheese enchiladas for dinner, or a breakfast burrito. The food was originally great, but it's slowly gone downhill. Tonight, I ordered my enchiladas, and the rest of the family ordered theirs. My enchiladas were COLD! The cheese wasn't even melted, and the tortillas were so tough I had to use a knife. It was literally just tortillas, with shredded cheese, inside a "raw" tortilla and enchilada sauce. So I called the store on College Drive in Henderson, and told them what I just finished writing. We pulled up to this little spot right by the College of Southern Nevada and decided to split the Carne Asada Nachos... best compromise ever. Portions are legitimately HUGE; one order easily fed both of us with leftovers. Fresh chips, plenty of tender grilled carne asada, melty cheese, beans, guac, sour cream, pico; the works. Everything tasted authentic and hit the spot without being greasy. Price was shockingly low for the amount of food you get; felt like we robbed the place. Service was quick and super friendly, even during the lunch rush. Place was packed with a steady stream of students and locals coming in and out the whole time we were there, which says everything about how solid and affordable it is. Not the absolute best Mexican I've ever had, but easily some of the best bang-for-your-buck in town. We left stuffed and happy. Fausto's is located within a shopping center by Horizon & College. It is easy to access and locate. It's my daughter's family's favorite spot to pick up Mexican food on days that are just too busy to cook at home. The order was placed over the phone. They repeat back your order, tell you how long it'll take to prepare and hang up. They don't even ask for your name. I guess this system works for them because they've always managed to get the right order to the right customer lol The family's usual go-to order consists of bean & cheese burritos, huevos rancheros, and beans & rice (which the kids particularly enjoy). I ordered the chile relleno combo. The seeds were not removed from the chile, giving the dish a nice, mild heat. Overall good flavor and I'd probably order it again. Was recommended this spot by a bartender friend down the street. I was craving Mexican food but I am currently not eating meat so it's been hard deciding. You order at the window, then seat yourself. Gotta give credit that Fausto's has been knocking it out if the park lately. As of recently I eat here at least once or twice a week. The quality of food has been very consistent. The people that work here are awesome, hard-working, and efficient. The dining area is very basic, but it's kept presentable and clean. Been coming here as long as I can remember (moved to the area in 2005) Lately they have some odd change that makes me less likely to patron the eatery, specifically when I request to have something removed from the item or put on the side they have been stating "no substitutions". So if we want no guacamole or jalapenos for instance or simply put on the side they refuse. It's not like I am requesting sour cream in place of guacamole or vice versa. The chicken taco was crispy, crunchy and the shredded chicken was perfect! Not too dry like I've had at other local spots. The carnitas burrito was big and delicious. They make their own flour tortillas, which are soft and flavorful. I'd rather have those tortillas with salsa instead of just chips & salsa any day!
