Wow this was a rough go... First visit, thinking it was more of an upper scale experience. Nope. It's a bar. A gastropub, for sure. But still a bar. Service was slow-ish, sloppy, and abrupt if not borderline rude. Several things forgotten or misexplained, and a very casual attitude about it all. The delightfully sounding $28 Prawn Cocktail appetizer turned out to be 3 shrimp on a plate with some sauce underneath. Not even 4, so we could share evenly. Yes, that's $10 per shrimp. They were not made of gold, btw. The entrees were trè expensive and definitely not worth the shockingly high prices. Only one of the two steaks was cooked properly (to order), and both were absolutely no better than a variety of other steaks at any valid restaurant serving steak anywhere. It appears that they think they're doing something very unique and special here. Sides are separate, so be prepared for that. Mild disappointment escalated a bit more once the bill arrived. Today I decided to eat at a local steakhouse, Feast 316. In the past (years ago), I have had pretty good experiences, so I was expecting similar results with this afternoon's visit. I was displeased to be proven wrong. We walked in around 1:15PM, and were able to be seated immediately, as it wasn't too busy. It's in a nice little area, in the heart of downtown, with a pleasant little home-feeling ambiance. We got the menus, and instantly noticed that there are very few options for vegetarians, or even people who aren't too fond of beef. My mother asked if there were any substitutions, and our waitress told us that we were at a steakhouse, so there will be a lot of beef, however, they used to have an impossible burger, but kept throwing it out at the end of the day because it was bad and nobody ordered it. This did not sit well with us, but we dismissed it as perhaps just a long day. My mother ordered the fish and chips, with haddock fish (pictured), and I ordered the pub bun. The waitress came back a few moments later to inform me that the pub bun was not prepped for today, so they did not have any available. I instead ordered the butcher's skewer (pictured). We didn't have to wait longer than 20 minutes for our food. I started with the vegetable skewer, and noticed they were only a tad warm, which the waitress had informed me would be hot to the touch. They tasted good, however the onion was a bit much. Then I started with the meat skewer. I was disappointed when every single piece of meat was cold to both the touch and the taste. My mother's fish was quite hot, but I was underwhelmed by the temperature. The flavors of the sauce they used on the meats clashed with the meat itself, and I found it difficult to focus on one taste, however that could just be my personal taste palette. The fries tasted good, however they were a bit on the cold side as well. All in all, this was quite a let-down experience for us. We walked in hoping for a top-of-the-line restaurant, and walked away discouraged with the overall encounter. It's a great spot in downtown Camas and although parking may be tough during peak hours it's a restaurant in my normal rotation for nice nights out and special occasions. This is our second COVID 19 visit and my wife and I were very comfortable with the safety measures used by the staff and the seating of their guests. As for the food...great as always! The octopus appetizer was a hit as was the scallops my wife had. I ordered the roasted Chilean Sea Bass which was cooked to perfection and presented nicely. The Hearts of palm white sauce was very tasty but also very rich and didn't pair well with an already rich fish. I would have preferred a nice light hearts of palm salad on the side or over the fish with the roasted potatoes. Just my humble opinion. My wife had the scallops and the spinach Quinoa salad with beats and goat cheese. Everything was excellent along with their service and I'd highly recommend my fellow Yelpers check this place out if you haven't already. The restaurant itself is pretty cute the decor and vibe is really cool. I like their approach of cocktails where they make a lot of their ingredients in house. The service was okay, I honestly expected a bit more kindness and a little more patience especially eating early and being one of the only tables. Two of us ordered hangar steaks which were slightly undercooked but heavily, unpleasantly salty. Another one of us ordered the cod which he said he enjoyed. The sides are all ala carte so we ordered the mashed potatoes which do not lie when they say there is horseradish present, probably our mistake for ordering. Overall we had a good time but probably won't be back for a steak. It was definitely worth a try even if it wasn't exactly what we were looking for. read more

This place so consistently delivers hits it's ridiculous, both on the food and the drinks. I come here specifically to get cocktails and eat a bunch of appetizers like they are an entire meal. I have yet to have anything that wasn't fantastic, so order with abandon. The "Put the Rye in the Coconut" seasonal cocktail is like a manhattan appropriate for the summer. My favorite apps are the Coconut Shrimp, the Ahi Tuna Potato Pancake Thing (okay, it was a special, I forget the name), and the one that keeps me coming back is the filet mignon skewers that have a little fondue and goodies underneath. We wanted to take the crème brûlée home, but they very nicely explained that it would not survive the journey well. I said that I would be happy to caramelize the sugar myself (something I've always wanted to do), and they made us the cutest little kit with instructions and a fun message. The staff was super friendly. Our waitress was attentive, helpful and friendly. The decor is really cool...love all the brick and lighting. The heavy wood tables are branded on the corners with the restaurant name. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food; however, it took almost an hour to arrive after ordering. We were all starving by then! We weren't offered complimentary bread because of the wait either. At one point I asked for bread, received a half baguette with butter, then noticed I was charged $2.50. Complimentary bread would be nice for the table, especially if a party is waiting for an hour for food! I ordered the lobster mac and cheese. It was absolutely delicious! Plenty of lobster meat and a generous portion of mac and cheese for $12. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits. He said it was just okay. He liked my lobster mac and cheese way better. Another person in our party ordered the steak and eggs...yum! She gave me a piece of her steak and it was some of the best steak I've eaten! The fish and chips were just okay, too much grease on the breading for my liking. The mushroom burger was delicious! The steak fries were good as well, just the right amount of seasoning and not greasy. The eggs benedict was good as well. Overall we enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The portions and prices are quite reasonable. They kept us waiting at the door for 10 min, waiters passed in front of us without acknowledging us. I hate to write this but Feast 316 used to be our favorite place but since there remodel and new menu it's just not the same. It used to be our date night destination, rivaled the best steak houses in Portland but our last visit was disappointing. I don't mind spending $200 for a really nice steak dinner with cocktails, but not when it's mediocre. Our Manhattans, although made with decent bourbon, were made with a cheap brand of vermouth(then watched someone else's get made with the good vermouth). Not what I expected from Feast. And our ribeye steak was bland and dry. Usually ribeyes ate fatty and full of flavor. Doubting if it was the cut they said it was. Service was good, friendly and efficient. Music also seemed off. Not sure if they have a new owner or new management, but would love to see them go back how they were before. We used to recommend them to everyone looking for a great cocktail and steak. We went here for a graduation celebration. The service was fantastic and everyone was very friendly. We ordered the Filet Mignon and Ribeye as medium rare. While the steaks were very good, they took a while to make and were cooked mostly medium with bits and pieces of medium well closer to the edges. Mistakes happen but for the price of the steaks here, it's a little difficult to overcome. We didn't raise any concern as we did not want to wait again for remade steaks. The creme brûlée was excellent and so was the lobster Mac and cheese. Overall, I'd definitely come back here for a burger or something, but I'll be skipping the steaks. wanted to share my experience on this past weekend. One of my best friends and I had been looking forward to dining with you guys and having dinner. We were the only patrons outside on a beautiful Saturday evening. Our server was friendly and welcoming; made good suggestions. We ordered 3 items to share. Shrimp dish , mushroom risotto and the baratta. The food came out at a very decent time and looked delicious. However when we tried the Baratta it seemed to be quite spicy. We tried 2 different bites and both tasted spicy and inedible for us. We let our server know ( Jordan I believe was her name ). She retorted that it should not be spicy and she would ask the chef about it. About 10 minutes later she came back and said herself Anc the chef had tried the Baratta and it was fine. While we absolutely enjoyed the other 2 items we ordered, our Baratta sat and was not enjoyed at all. There was not any mention of substituting for something else / and or removing from our bill. Sadly while we were over the moon excited to enjoy your establishment, we will NOT be sharing positive thoughts and feedback to our community and friends. Really chill vibe. Love the ambiance and the chill tunes. Service was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the bbq shrimp with hush puppies, tasty with umami, big portion for 2 ppl. Porter house steak 33oz bone in Pittsburgh style and it was cooked perfectly. The potatoes (a smidge, and literally that's all that was needed) were out of this world good. Pork belly with gnocchi was sadly a miss. Think the gnocchi was house made and perfectly cooked, but the pork belly (although tender) seemed like it was seared on a griddle top and murdered it and dried it out so bad it was hard to swallow. Sauce on the gnocchi's was a bit plain, like a watery béchamel, with peas and a cruciferous veg (not sure if it was broccoli or romanesco). It tasted like an uncaring interpretation of an Alfredo, which I wasn't expecting. Aside from the one dish, everything else was good. Wine was really good. Overall we did quite enjoy it and would come back if we are in the area; to try other dishes. I do have to say I was turned off by a huge party (birthday) that was going on next to us. Not by the size of the party but because there were a TON of little kids. I was taken aback a bit because of a screaming toddler that screamed non-stop for over 2 hours. It's became so bad it was becoming annoying and caused me to not enjoy my date night out with the husband. It felt like a swanky vibe of the cool section of chuck-e-cheese with the amount of babies in the party. Don't get me wrong I don't dislike kids, but this place HAD a sort or speakeasy vibe to it until the giant party of screaming kids took over. Went here for date night with my wife. Found the server to be excellent and the location is great. Their service and food however were not what we expected. We waited well over an hour for two dishes and both main entrees did not come with sides. They do have sides but they will run an additional $15-$22, so that $37 pasta turns into a $50+ plate. What a delightful find in downtown Camas. The town is lovely! This place has a terrific menu and amazing bar! My friend and I had brunch: she had eggs Benedict with perfectly poached eggs, which is rare these days. The homemade English muffins made it awesome. I had the Spanish omelette, which was more of a frittata. Perfectly seasoned with yummy veggies! This is a definite must go again. Only suggestion, make the breakfast potatoes smaller and smashed. Ordered in 10-15 mins. 1 appetizer (Pub Roll) delicious arrived 15 mins after ordering (so far 30 mins after being seated). So far ... 1 hr 15 mins since seated! 20 mins later asked server abt potato side status, she then went and got it after we finished eating... finally! Total time 2 hrs. Server apologized that ticket machine with orders had problems and that was reason for delay. Again steak was delicious, but can't wait and wait and wait for food at a high end restaurant. We ate here a couple of years ago and it was excellent. Tonight was not the same. Portion sizes were very small. I ordered the Scallops. The Scallops came out almost 10 minutes later then the rest of our tables food. And the plate and Scallops were cold. $24 for three cold Scallops!! The plate came with nothing else, not even bread! Our table ordered two desserts after dinner and it took 30 minutes to arrive. When one of the ice cream's arrived it was partly melted in the bowl. Been coming here for years and always have a great meal here, so when friends came into town (we live in downtown Camas) and we needed a place for lunch on MLK day.... The obvious choice was Feast. You couldn't have ordered a more varied meal for four different people... Steak and eggs, pork belly and gnocchi with pea purée, fish and chips, and an open face Cubano. What can I say? Everything was prepared perfectly!!! The Cubano was like nothing I've ever seen, and the taste profile was out of this world. The fish and chips is an entire fish fillet of cod with handmade home cut fries that are cooked to perfection. the gnocchi was light and fluffy. The pork belly was slightly crispy and the pea purée had some kind of umami flavor that I've never experienced anywhere. It was incredible. last, but not least, the person that ordered the steak and eggs at the steakhouse could not have been happier. The steak was cooked perfectly. It was our first time here. Overall a good experience. We arrived on time for our reservation to an almost empty dining room with 11 empty tables. After we checked in with sat there for 10 minutes for some unknown reason. No communication as to why. Beyond that, everything was pretty good. The three of us shared a tomahawk, horseradish, mashed potatoes, I loved, asparagus, that was not over cooked, really good scallops, and a mac & cheese, that we all really enjoyed. We ordered the tomahawk medium, after a couple of slices. It was a little more towards medium rare. I know you're supposed to let steaks sit, but we were hungry :-) they put it back in for a couple of minutes for us. No problem and we were really happy. We have been going to this restaurant for the past 6 years and have truly enjoyed their food. Upon our most recent visit, we were pleasantly surprised by the updated atmosphere with new lighting, tables, and comfortable chairs. It was very comfortable. As always, the service was excellent. They have updated their menu as well, and that's where I take issue. Mind you, I know restaurants like to change things up and keep things interesting. I personally did not particularly like the changes. They still have a nice selection of steaks, but that evening, I was more interested in seafood. I had the bouillabaisse, and my partner had the halibut. Feast has always had a unique twist on traditional menu items, but adding cuos cuos and potatoes to bouillabaisse is not my idea of a good twist. The seafood selection in the stew was quite good, however. My wife had the halibut with tofu, really, tofu? We miss the Mahi Mahi dish they used to prepare. In short, we are not sure the new menu suits our tastes. Others may find the changes to their liking, and only time will tell. On the bright side, the seating was nice, and they made it quieter.
