Feast Buffet. How I love thee. I've held off on writing a review for so long, because I don't know how to summarize the depth of my love for Feast. TL;DR: Feast Buffet is an above-average Asian seafood buffet. If you're a glutton and you aren't picky, you will be happy. Now getting to the full review... Food: Feast offers a wide assortment of seafood dishes, from steamed crab to sushi to raw oysters. This is where you get your money's worth. Go for the crab legs, bowl of chopped salmon sashimi, cups of amaebi (sweet shrimp), and butterfish/black cod to get your money's worth. The sushi between average to not-great, so I recommend just focusing on your favorites (in my case, the unagi). The non-seafood options are relatively average. They've got the usuals like steak, sausage, fried rice, noodles, etc plus a dim sum bar and fun options like frog legs and crawfish. You can get a custom stir-fry made (I never go for that). There's also an assorted salad bar (waste of stomach space if you ask me, but whatever floats your boat). Once upon a time, they had snails. Big, delicious, steamed snails. I never saw them again, and my heart breaks a little every time I visit. Ah... Dietary Tips: If you're lactose-intolerant, bring a buttload of Lactaid/lactase for the desserts. Everything other than the cotton candy has dairy. The have tons of little desserts and their ice cream is surprisingly smooth and good. I like to take one of everything and eat a couple bites of each... So make sure you are prepared. Also, if you do not like to eat seafood, I don't think Feast is worth your money. They do have steak, sausage, dim sum, and a few other non-seafood proteins, but they aren't anything special. Lobster Tips: On weekends, Feast brings out lobster tails every 15 minutes or so. If you see the tray appear, make a beeline for it ASAP because all the tails disappear in a matter of seconds. Make sure to go earlier in the evening so you can take advantage of this to eat as many lobster tails as possible. There's hot butter in the opposite corner of the room, near the grill area, fried rice, and orange chicken. Also, be aware that towards the end of the night, Feast will start to bring out lesser-quality lobster (perhaps in an attempt to wean off the crowd?), usually smaller, drier, whole lobster tails and a gross, gelatinous, chopped lobster in sauce. We are not fans of these. Space: Feast is large with a lot of variety in seating. There are lots of tables in 3 separate areas, a private room, and they can accomodate parties from anywhere between 1 to probably around 50+ people. (You'll want to make a reservation for any super large group.) You pay at the front and they hand you a buzzer that rings when your table is ready. After you've found your table, you're on your own to dive into the big buffet area in the center of the room. There are utensils in the corners and drink machines along one wall. The bathrooms are fairly clean and I appreciate the touchless faucets, soap, and paper towels (a must when everyone is eating crustaceans with their hands). Price: Feast is pricy. There's no way around that. On weeknights, you'll probably be paying $40+ per person. On weekends, you're looking at $50+. Lunches are cheaper. But they do have better food options (including lobster) on the weekends. So skip lunch and come prepared to win. Don't bring your picky/dainty eater friends. It's you vs the buffet. The floor is sticky, the seats can be sticky, chairs sticky...it's like someone let there kids run rampant, and if you're there long enough you will see said kids. I saw this buffet on social media and knew I had to try it. Firstly this place is HUGE!!! You go in, pay first and then ppl seat you. It can get pretty overwhelming but you have a ton of options. My favorite part was the sushi bar. I spent the most time here bc there's so many different rolls and nigiri- all were pretty good quality for a buffet. Obviously the sushi isn't the best I've had but definitely above average for a buffet. Then they have other hot food like Mongolian grill, American food, Chinese food (fried rice, noodles, etc), dim sum, noodle bar, and the popular seafood buffet - the lines were always at least 10 min for the crab legs and lobster. Honestly the feedback from other friends who got them was the boiled seafood wasn't worth it. And it didn't look that great- you get better ones at casino buffets. The dessert part is pretty neat. In summary; Weekend lunch is a good deal! Rotation of good aka freshness was ok which is why i ticked off one star. Some of the sushi pieces on the sushi rolls were dried up / flavorless. Obviously you can't expect a ala carte quality at massive large scale buffets like this but i have seen a little better. This also applied to some of the desserts. However, their desert selection is great and expansive. Strongly recommend! During weekend lunches they have fresh crabs which was a highlight for my party. The service was great as well as the staff frequently came by leaving no dirty plates on our table. Their restroom is also decently clean. Like, probably the biggest buffet in the Seattle area with tons of food options, but all of them are terrible to mediocre. If you're just trying to fill the hole with as much food as humanly possible and you don't really care about taste or quality, this is your place. Sushi wasn't fresh and the rolls had way too much rice to filling ratio. All of the fried foods tasted like old oil and the rest of it was pretty 'meh' or just plain inedible. "Quantity over Quality" Wait: 3-5 minutes Price: $$ ($35 per person) Lunch Staff: Exceptionally Mediocre. No greetings or goodbyes. Came around often. Had RBFs (Most looked like they worked there because someone forced them at gunpoint or smth). Environment: Dark. Had this 98% renovated 2% not finished. Floors were really sticky. With zero mops to be seen anywhere. Didn't even want to go to the bathrooms. The "Utensil Stations" had unclean utensils. Very dirty in general. Had to do the thing where you put the utensils in the hot water to clean them. Very spacious tho. Food: The food was kinda bad (if you couldn't tell from the stars i put on this review). I started out with the sushi/nigiri. Then I went around eating noodles/dimsum. And finally finished off with dessert. 1) Any type of Sashimi/Sushi: The sushi had extremely dense rice that tasted like it had been in a fridge (For the people who don't eat rice, it means it's really bad). The fish did not taste fresh AT ALL. I could feel some ice particles still in there (95% thawed fish but still 5% frozen). Quite unpleasant. The avocado was not fresh at all. The crab meat salad lacked mayonnaise. All in all the sushi section was unpleasant mainly because of the rice. The only good parts was the scallop nigiri. The rest of the sushi you had to drench in soy sauce and wasabi to make it somewhat bearable. 2) Other Seafood (Shellfish): Most of these dishes were flavorless. The snow crab leg I tried was meh. They also serve garlic bread and a lot of fattier foods that I avoided because I didn't want to risk having a heart attack there. 5) Dimsum: Bad. Ma Lai Go was very dense. Tasted floury. Not sweet enough. Very Bland. Siu Mai was very mushy meat. Salty. The wrap was overcooked. Custard Bao looked promising when I ripped it open. But again, very unsweet (This is coming from an asian person that doesn't like diabetes). 6) Dessert: Good enough. Lots of variety. Most were either too sweet or something. Food for the masses. That's your premise to keep in mind when it comes to buffets. Hard to expect quality, like when ordering a plate made for one type of restaurant. We have been to buffets where they were close...but fell short. This place is HUGE! I saw the place featured on a social media vlog and I think there must be a mistake with Feast here in Renton and the one in Kirkland. So to be clear...this is in Renton. The first impression wasn't good at the door...there's a sign that states "You can bring your valuables in and they'll keep it safe". Yup...that isn't a good start. The sushi selection was pretty typical with some decent rolls. The fridge portion of it though doesn't seem like it was doing a great job when the fish was glistening like sweat beading on your forehead in a sauna. That said...I'd say the rice-to-fish ratio is good. I braved some and have no complaints. The rice was nice and not hard like undercooked like grocery store sushi. The hot and sour soup missed the mark in my book. This is a pretty basic soup that should be easy to make for the masses. They have a selection that even the pickiest of eaters would like. They have American food such as fries and pizza. They also have sushi and seafood. They have dim sum they have crab. They have so much desserts and so many options I couldn't even list them all. Like any buffet, there's always people that are a little selfish, and take more for themselves and leave nothing for others. I am upset with this place. Let me tell you why. You stand in line, pay for your entire party BEFORE you eat, and they tell you some bullshit wait time (30 minutes in my case for a party of 10), and the actual wait time is really an hour and 45 minutes. You can't leave because you already paid. The buffet was mediocre at best. Yes, they have lobster and snow crab, but there is a whole ass line for that too that you have to wait in. And they only give you half a lobster tail and one serving of snow crab. The only stand out dishes is the scallops with noodles, the crawfish, and maybe the Dungeness crab. I have to give credit to the extensive dessert station. It gave off Las Vegas vibes with fresh crepes made on site and cotton candy. This buffet was recommended to me while I was in town, and it surpassed my expectations! There were so many different cuisines and food options, that I did not know where to begin. The sushi and nigiri impressed me because I am not a big fan of buffet sushi. There was dim sum, a customized noodle bar, unlimited lobster (on the weekends), and anything you could think of, it was probably served! There was a large seafood selection which impressed my parents, but what impressed me was the large dessert bar. WOW! Such a great buffet! We came here for lunch and dinner during our stay in Washington, lol. For this buffet, you pay beforehand instead of after. Price is reasonable for an adult for both lunch and dinner and seniors are about $3 less than adult prices. The layout of the place is HUGE! Lots of seating next to the food, there's a banquet area and then a general seating area in front of tv screens. The layout of the food is also easy enough to follow. Desserts are in the middle and there's a wide range of desserts, including a crepe station and egg puff station. You can take an egg puff waffle to go for an extra $3. Toppings are all laid out for you to create any dessert you wish. They also have the typical mini cakes, cheesecakes and cookies as well. In terms of food, one side is raw sushi and the other side is cooked items/ main entree. There's a small section of dim sum, meat carvings and noodle station. For dinner, there's lobster and king crab. However the line for that is always long. Lobster and king crab is distributed by the workers so it's equally shared amongst the people. Which is smart. It's served every 15mins so plenty of time to eat your food and then wait in line for the next round or vice versa. The food itself is absolutely delicious which surprises me for a buffet!
