I have found a love with feathered friends of Mobile and have adopted two beautiful feathered babies from them who I adore! They promised us our amazons and small parrot would NOT be sold or adopted out. We paid lots of $ through the years and sent them gifts of bird supplies. When we went to see the birds later on they were GONE! That's right no where to be found and they kept telling me bull reasons about their whereabouts. FINALLY one of them told me birds sometimes die and they do adopt out. So mine are gone after ALL the promises the owners made to me. Plus we went another year to help out, before we knew our birds were gone and the room they asked us to clean was disgusting. Poor birds had poop pyramids under their perches and many in small cages. I think this was the adoption room. Yes they probably need more help but on the other hand don't house birds you cant take are of. Run people dont ever give them your bird. read more

Rude and obnoxious. Very curt on the phone not helpful at all. Arrogant. I would not recommend this business to anyone.

So incredibly run down and unsanitary, people smoking indoors with birds and mold growing on old pans next to bird cages. All birds are fed seed mix (very inappropriate diet for any parrot much less a macaw or even eclectus). Some of the reptiles have inadequate lights and cobwebs in their cages. Can't believe people would board their birds here too! If your bird is boarded it gets seed mix and maybe two perches if it's lucky, forget about toys or a clean cage. Most birds aren't even adopted out, volunteers end up spending most their time cleaning after birds that are payed to be boarded there. Seems more like hoarding and roadside zoo than a rescue, for example there is a beautiful and gentle hyacinth macaw that could be easily adopted out, but the owner would rather let her rot in a dirty cage with no toys and seed mix just so he can say he owns a hyacinth macaw. They have maybe 2-3 outdoor cages that look up to standard that all the pics they use on the website are from, the rest are in rusting dirty cages and the large "aviaries" they brag about are sheds with no enrichment. read more

Their website says it is free to get in. This is not true, we had to pay $50 for 2 adults and 3 kids for admission. The price was totally ridiculous for what you get. It is very small, only took about an hour to tour. It's very dirty, garbage is everywhere. The birds are all in cages that are really run down and they don't look very healthy. For about double the price we paid to tour this place, we could have bought a family membership to the Riverbank Zoo for a YEAR!!! The cost of admission was outrageously expensive. This place is a complete rip-off. Extremely disappointed. Do not recommend and will not return. read more

Although they are closed for the winter, make sure your spring outings include a visit. They have added new attractions including a tortoise and an education center. 2021 will include a reptile area. The butterfly garden is pleasant and they are helping restore the honey bee population. When the weather is nice you might see one of the macaws doing a free flight exhibition. They are donation based (hint) and always looking for volunteers all year long. read more

I volunteer here and I love it! Playing with the birds and giving just a few hours of my life up is the least I can do.

FFF is an amazing awesome place to visit when you come to Georgia. Ron, Tammy and staff spend every waking hour feeding, cleaning, building in order to save parrots lives. FFF allows these gorgeous birds who really should never be kept as house pets the most freedom they could possibly have by building huge aviaries where they can fly and socialize with their own species. Please think about donating by entering their ( FFF) name when ordering from amazon. I am a real person. I brought 2 parrots to Ron about 10 years ago. Then my last parrot about 2 years ago. We visit and try to help out. We donate money every year. What would I have done with large parrots that decided to start biting the "bleep" out of us? FFF really saved us. read more

This place was awesome! Our kids really enjoyed walking around and talking to these beautiful birds and so did we! They have a ton of birds, just make sure you walk around to see them all. There is a really cool interactive rock section as well which our rock, loving kids had a blast with. Don't overlook this place because of them working on building things and it being outdoors.You can tell these people really care about these birds and give them what they need. The people who work here really want the best for these birds but often times they are overlooked for donations or grants as cat and dog rescues are the ones people generally donate to. I don't see how this is still open. To start off with the living conditions for the birds are deplorable. Just driving by the smell is bad. The birds don't look healthy at all. Secondly, it looks more like an rv park than a bird rescue. Thirdly, all you hear are gunshots. I thought this place was suppose to be peaceful and about the birds. it makes me really wonder if they are safe. The owner is also quite rude. read more

First off this place is wonderful....To spend every minute of everyday tending to Parrots that other people buy then turn over to the rescue when they cannot for whatever reason take care of any longer is a beautiful thing!...before people start complaining about conditions at the rescue why don't you step up to the plate and donate to this place?...they run it with no pay or help from any government entity!! Keep up your awesome work Feathered Friends, you should receive gratitude not grief for what you are trying to do for animals that do not deserve to be thrown in a little cage and looked at like they are part of a petting zoo.
