In the past 10 years, I have seen the USPS postal service become VERY unreliable for incoming and outgoing packages and mail. Many sent items and expected items have been lost or stolen. Even certified mail or return receipt mail goes missing frequently. Seems that USPS only really cares about your package if you use the more expensive priority mail. Even then with the tracked priority mail, I have had packages go missing. Unfortunately, if you have to ship to a PO Box then you HAVE to use the USPS. In those cases, I always use Priority Mail. UPS has a better record than USPS but still mistreats and loses packages. I have had the BEST success with FedEx. I have only ever had one package lost. According to FedEx it is still circling Nashville. When using FedEx I have the best service and experience when I go to the corporate ship point on Nichols Drive. This is where the packages go to anyway, so I go straight here instead of the FedEx Kinkos locations. I have had a MUCH better experience at Nichols Drive than ANY FedEx Kinkos location. Paulina is a consistently excellent employee at this location who always provides excellent customer service. I use the cheapest ground option and allow plenty of time for shipping when I can to save money. read more

Scene: Late afternoon Friday about 5:30p Service: Need Priority Saturday delivery Package size: Envelopes Ever since this COVID-19 thing started my normal drop off location changed their hours to an early drop off schedule. The point of having to drop off packages at that location was because I missed my cut off pickup at my workplace at 4:00p... then I find out that it's only a 30-min difference cut-off time at my regular FedEx drop off store. I then started to panic because the packages are supposed to be for Saturday delivery and must leave today, Friday... I missed the truck by a few minutes. I was given the instruction to take it directly to the FedEx hub also located in Rocklin. The customer service here was great. I arrived a little after 6:00p and I was assisted by a professional, friendly and helpful package handler. She noticed the stress on my face. Somehow the label I printed spit out incorrect coding... you know, each of those big letters on the labels mean something in their cryptic way. She reprinted new bar codes for me so it will get to their destinations on time. I had 3 envelopes. The recipients will get their checks the following day. Unfortunately, these are termination checks. The hub closed at 7:45p. I made it there with plenty of time to spare. They're even open Saturdays. It was my first time there. Waited on an important and time-sensitive package from FedEx at home. I work from home so I made sure to not leave the entire day, another person was home the whole time as well. Neither of us heard a doorbell or knock, and FedEx claims they "missed" us. 100% complete lie from FedEx. I had to pick it up myself after they returned the package to the shipping facility. 3 out of 5 times I wait for delivery after Fed Ex sends a delivery notification to be delivered by 'end of day' - and it never arrives. This is a FedEx facility staffed by professional FedEx employees. I can't say enough about the continual fantastic service they provide. I had a recent shipping address issue, and the knowledgeable woman working with me had the situation solved in a couple of minutes, something I was not able to resolve on the FedEx website. Service is always quick, efficient, accurate, and enjoyable. Counter service personnel will go out of their way to make sure that they provide exceptional service, even if it means making phone calls to confirm a zip code or address. I have just stopped going to the local drop off locations in the area and focus on this Ship Center since the service is so fantastic and the employees so familiar with every aspect of shipping via FedEx, along with data and FedEx information that is only available at these corporate locations. In over 30 years of shipping, I have never had a lost, misrouted, or damaged shipment and unless severe weather delays a package, every shipment has been on time or early. For all of the excellent service I have been given, I honestly have to give this location a 15 on a scale of 1-10. They do a good job. I mostly come here to pick up packages that need a signature. The staff at the center here has always been friendly and helpful. They try to keep things moving but the line can be a bit slow. The problems seem to more with their equipment than staff. You can tell they are fighting to get things to work correctly. But labels aren't printing or the system is not taking the data. The supervisor will come out and help with pickups when a line forms which has happened pretty much every time I have been here. I had two packages to be delivered together. One of them needed signing and he did not knock 1. I was in the living room and 2. my dog barked because someone was near the front door as I go out front. I see one of the packages and I see the FedEx guy getting back in his car, we even locked eyes. Then he looked at his phone and drove off. I received a notification stating that they came and I was not home. Apple uses Fed Ex for their deliveries as you need to sign off to receive. Long story short they said they came to my house twice, but never did. They did say I can come pick it up, but again, it is their job to deliver my items. What used to be the Premier Logistics company has devolved into the worst way to ship a package! There Customer Service is virtually non-existent and the misinformation provided is copious! For the second time in a month I had a package that was shipped from southern California, Priority, arrive in Stockton. That is less than a half an hour from its destination. It then was misdirected to Ohio and took a week to arrive back to its intended destination. When it arrived the packaging was damaged and it again took two days to get to me from its arrival in Stockton the second time. Earlier this month an overnight package took three weeks to arrive and when calling FedEx to try to ascertain its location they kept saying we don't know where it is and can I give you an accurate delivery date. One would think that a logistics company would have anticipated an influx of packages being shipped during the pandemic? DHL, UPS, and even our beloved Post Office have become more reliable than federal express. At least UPS and DHL will tell you where your package is and can give approximate arrival dates with a friendly customer service rather than having to call numerous times and been given the wrong information, promised a call back, all of which either never occurred or had me waiting at home several times on several different days. FedEx is never going to have a system in place that. Profiles customer of what's going on when a delay has set your package back. Apparently they are understaffed and lack the required information to notify you when there has been a delay. I needed this to be on time as I had an emergency purchase for my work. My pa mage was scheduled for a Friday but got delayed to Monday. It arrived at a city near me so I went to pick it up but there was only one guy working in the entire building so he could not go through the truck to find it. I understand. Driver dropped my package off and ran... The problem is that it is dumping rain outside and my package is soaked. The driver could've simply rang the doorbell. I was home and could've retrieved the package right away. I called the customer service number. They are of no help considering they are located in Guatemala. The rep evaded answering questions. First, I want to acknowledge the increased demand for shipping since the whole COVID 19. However, if shipping is your business and the pandemic has been going on for 6 months, one would think you have gotten it figured out by now. I often order the meal kit boxes. In the last couple of months, I have had to throw out all of the food from these boxes as they arrive many days too late to be consumed. What I am frustrated about is that no matter where the box is coming from, it gets from FedEx center to center quickly, until it gets to Roseville. At that point, I get continued tracking updates that say the box is going to be delivered on a certain date, only to have the shipping details say "In Transit to Roseville" for days, the status will change to pending and then at some point days later the box will arrive with spoiled food. I'm afraid FedEx is going to put these businesses under. Everytime this happens, I have to call the company for a refund. I've started to file claims with FedEx as it seems they are the ones that should pay not the company doing their best to ship out quickly. If I ever get reimbursed form FedEx, which I doubt, I will reverse the credits from the meal kit company so they can continue to stay in business. read more
