I get a text message at 10:01 am saying the item will be delivered before 8 pm. I receive an e-mail at 10:16 am saying the item will be delivered between 12:40 and 2:40 pm. It is crazy to receive two messages with two different times. How am I supposed to know which message is the correct one? How am I supposed to plan my day? This is totally unacceptable. read more

Every. Single. Day. FedEx drivers use my PRIVATE DRIVEWAY as a shortcut on their route despite my partner having asked them to stop, despite us and our neighbors calling to ask them to stop. Despite our dog having followed the truck from our property to the road. It's a private driveway, and this continued use of it without delivering a package to our home or our neighbors is blatant trespassing, and frankly I'm sick of it. I've had multiple run ins with fedex as a company over the years which didn't turn out well. Sometimes they're unreliable, sometimes they lie, but no matter what, if you have a problem, you can count on dealing with overseas operators who can almost never help. Either due to lack of authority or lack of care. The burden of time ans energy for sorting out issues is placed on the customer. This time, the Traverse City location refused to deliver my time sensative, overnight shipment (expensive), due to a lack of unit number for the apartment. Except that we use a common mail room for packages. But we'll just pretend like that doesn't matter. Fedex calls me, I miss the call. I call them back, it's overseas, I have to explain to them what's going on and why they probably called me. They tell me to go online, make an account with them (oh boy a new account with a company I don't care about or use) of course it takes 15 minutes to get that sorted because their website is designed by a 5 year old. There is no clear way to do what he told me to do, so I call back. Get someone different, they tell me it's going to be delivered today before even gathering any information. I explain what's going on, she tells me I have to call the sender to have them update the delivery address. I tell her another guy just told me to do it online, and I was to verify that it updated. She repeats herself. Then asks me to take a survey. Like fedex hasn't already taken enough of my time and energy, all while not providing the service I'm paying for. I call back a third time. Different person. She asks me for the unit number and says she's putting in a ticket to have the address updated this time. So now I'm supposed to sit back and hope that the "ticket" she put in supposedly, updates the address, and that the local office knows to attempt another delivery. No problem, it's not like I needed it Saturday or anything. So that's my experience. Overnighter on Friday, it is Monday night, no package. I just spent an hour and a half screwing around trying to give them the apartment number. But i have no way of knowing if it worked. I'll sleep well tonight. Thanks fedex! Oh, and if you're wondering why I'm leaving this review for this specific location, as far as I can tell, this is the hub. But for whatever reason, even though fedex has a tracking system and scans it every step of the way, they can never tell me which location the package is being delivered from locally. I'd love to do their job for them and drive there to pick it up myself, but they have never once been able to tell me where the package is when in this situation. If you are in the Traverse City metro area and have a something shipped through FedEx, your package is likely to pass through this central clearinghouse, located 5 minutes from the TVC airport. If you miss a home delivery and need your item tout suite, you can pick it up here, in a building situated near the back end of an office park. This kind of scenario recently happened to me, and the desk staff could not have been nicer, helping to intercept my package so that it didn't head out for another long day on the truck when I instead needed to pick up the item first thing in the morning. Dealing with shipping packages can be an uninspiring activity at best, but this branch has perfected the art of customer service. On the phone and in person, the employees I dealt with were courteous, kind, and helpful. read more

Only reason its a one is I can't give it a zero, FedEx never has ever gotten a shipment right for me, EVER! I have some very important documents i needed overnight, that was two days ago. Now they are not going to be here for another 4 at least, and for how light the package was the cost was absolutely absurd at 75$ for a few pieces of paper!!!
