They advertise easy pickup but neglect to tell you that the website doesn't actually know if the product is available. I went to pickup my order where it wasn't even ready. Then I was told that they only had the dog food but not the wet version. When asked why the process was not customer friendly, I was greeted with a rude employee that basically said I could leave if the process didn't work for me. Second time this location has employed rude individuals. Amazon will now be my go to. read more

This review is for the Feeder's Supply store located on 4600 Shelbyville Rd near the St.Matthews Mall in Louisville, KY. I took my Malti-Shu Bailey there to be bathed, groomed and his nails cut/ground. The staff attended to him promptly when I arrived and informed me that they would be done in an hour and a half. Indeed that was the case and he looks great. It was easy to make an appointment online and select all the options. HIs cut was 37.50 with an additional 10.00 for grinding of the nails (they last far longer between cuts). This store is open 9-9 every day of the week and I had only a 4 day wait to get an appointment booked. The traffic on Shelbyville Rd near the Malls can be a beast so try to get an appointment on either side of rush hour. Parking isn't a problem since its located within a mini-mall. read more

It's insane. I brought my dog here and they couldn't cut his hair and nails yet still made me pay full price for a job that was not done. They don't tell you when you come in that if your dog does not want to get his nail or hair cut you are still paying full price. The manager name is Jamie Lanzone and she's not a reasonable person, instead she went and got me nail clippers to add to my bill. I asked for small discount and the answer was plainly a no.. This is our usual spot to grab food/stuff for our cat, mainly because of location, but also because they have a lot to offer inside the store. Another reason being because this was the only place that I could find Science Diet, however ever since I have switched to wet food I usually just get it at Kroger/Target. One thing we really love about coming in here are all of the pets up for adoption! It seems like there is always someone around taking care of them, which is nice to see. Feeder's Supply is okay with customer service, nothing worth bragging about, but I can always get the job done here pretty easily. read more

This location is my go-to pet store! I have been going here for quite some time for my little chinchilla, and now for my sweet yorkie. Their food selection, for all pets, is huge! They offer so many different brands and many options-- bones, treats, regular kibble, grain-free options, pet-friendly soups, goat's milks, dehydrated, and even raw! In addition to their large food selection, they carry an entire aisle truly stocked and dedicated to dog toys from Kong's to plushes to ropes to squeak toys-- you name it, and they'll most likely have it (or something similar)! To add to their amazing selections, their staff is friendly and quite knowledgeable. I needed assistance and some insight on switching my pup to a raw diet, and their staff member was more than happy to help. She gave me some general information about the benefits of a raw diet, and directed me to the brand Primal, which offered a FREE starter pack at this location. She could have easily tried to advertise and sell me something, but instead, she saved me $20+ and helped me get something free. This location has yet to disappoint me, and I highly recommend supporting this Kentucky-local business! read more

I'm not sure how I have never been to a Feeders Supply, but I stopped in yesterday because I am trying my best to shop local for all of my Christmas gifts, even those for the furry family members! The store was absolutely spotless and despite being Christmas season and very busy, all of the displays were well stocked and well organized. I was astounded at the HUGE selection of toys, food, treats, beds, and more for dogs and cats! The prices were about the same as those of the national chains. I walked through the fish area and the tanks were all so clean and well-manicured. There was no musty, 'dirty' smell like I have often experienced when walking through fish displays at other pet stores. There was a self-serve pet washing station that appeared very clean and priced very reasonably (shampoo, smock, towel and dryers). Permits for the Louisville Dog Run Association can be obtained at Feeders Supply after presenting your dog's proof of Louisville registration and vaccinations. Dogs and cats are available for adoption through the Kentucky Humane Society at this location. After arriving home, we realized that our hand-selected dog treats had not been placed into our bag after the cashier painstakingly looked each item up in a notebook to log the sale. We returned today to let them know that we did not get our treats. The staff member was a bit curt and reluctantly allowed us to replace the missing treats. We will certainly return for our pet needs, but will be more aware during the checkout process to assure that all items are placed into our bag. read more

Feeders Supply has a fantastic groomer!!! Vanessa groomed my 3 very different dogs (Pittie mix, Chihuahua/Beagle mix, and a Shih Tzu puppy). My two older dogs have been seeing her for several months and our puppy two times. Within a few hours she single-handed performs a miracle and has all 3 washed dried and groomed. She is so good to my babies and it shows by their wagging tails and wet noses when we pick them up. read more

I placed an order online for 10 packages of hairball control treats. I received a delivery from a local store but only received 6 stating that was all they had. I received an email stating I would be getting a refund for the remaining 4 however I never received it. I replied to the email several times and even stopped by my local store and they couldn't help me. I won't be placing anymore online orders. They take and keep your money even if they don't have it in stock. read more

We have been faithful customers since we got our first puppy at Feeders through LHS (11 years ago). We even got our second puppy from here as well. We bought 95% of our pet needs at Feeders, but we will no longer. We are very particular about our dogs' food; of course, they are too. We have tried other brands and flavors, but they prefer one kind. We had searched at least 4 locations for the dog food we needed. We found one bag, a smaller bag at one location, but that was all they had, and an associate said if they had enough of the smaller bags, they would give us the equivalent of the 50lb bag we sought for the same price as the 50lb bag. We went to another location on Shelbyville Rd. in St. Matthews. One lady at the registers was helpful, but the manager was a jerk. We asked if he could honor the same deal as the other store. He made our situation as if it was a personal attack on him. He said he didn't know why anyone would say they would do that because he won't. He asked what stores we went to--like that mattered because they didn't have it. He blamed Purina--okay, but you have enough smaller bags to make the 50lb bag. He was not sympathetic at all. He didn't offer any other options or ideas. He could have been more helpful. And by the way, it's not Purina. Petsmart had the food, and we told them about our experience with you all, and they gave us a very nice discount. Yay Petsmart! We'll be going there from now on. Thanks for nothing. read more

This location of Feeders Supply is great. There's something more upscale - yet friendly - about it as compared to others, which enhances the shopping experience. They also have a great Fish Department, offering several types that I haven't spotted elsewhere. If you are looking for a dog/cat to adopt, this Feeders location hosts the Ky Humane Society. We decided to try out the grooming service in this feeders because we had never tried it before and it's close to where we live. Our experience was not good at all. They cut my dogs hair a little too short (which is ok because it'll grow back) but also, he had a cut on his belly that they didn't even tell us about, we only found it because he was bleeding when we got home. The least they could've done was mentioned they cut him on accident on his stomach. I would not recommend getting your pup groomed here. Take your business down the street to see spot and pay a little extra for quality care. I feel bad for my little pup, he's been shaking all day since he got home :( read more

FS is a great, local pet supply store. They've been my go-to pet store for 20+ years. When a little lizard came into our lives, they had everything needed to set up a proper terrarium. And they had crickets in various sizes. When the kids wanted some fish, they came through with everything needed for a nice aquarium, and replacement water filters, fish food, and other consumables were always in stock. But the joy of our lives are our dogs, and FS has everything you need -- food, collars, beds, cages, etc. Pets are welcome, which was handy when choosing a new harness for our growing puppy. I proceeded to the counter where two women were behind their cashier counter and a third woman draped herself across one counter. No joke. I left with my purchase. I love Feeders Supply! We usually take our French Bulldog, Batman, to the Irish Hill location as it is closest to our house. But, sometimes when we're in the St. Matthews area we will stop at this location to pick up food or other items. The store is always clean and the staff members are always friendly. Everyone loves to pet Batman and they always give him a treat while we're checking out, but never without asking, which I think it's very nice. I've been going to this store frequently the past week to get goodies for my newly adopted puppy from KHS. I used to go here to just look at the dogs available for adoption, and every time I die horribly inside because my husband doesn't want a dog at that time. :( So I cried last weekend and finally got my way. Mwahahahahaha!!! [insert hashtag bratproblems here]. If I have known that it's the only way I could persuade him, I would have done this a long time ago! The store is kept clean despite the coming and going of owners and their pets. They have a wide variety of brands available for every dog, cat, and other pet need. The staff is very friendly and is always willing to help. They also have a self service dog bathing section, which only costs around $10/bath. No need to bring a towel because they already provide it. This is cheaper than taking your dog to PetSmart, if you already know how to wash your dog but doesn't want to mess your bath tub up with dog hair. I also like that it's only 5 minutes away from our house and that it's local. Sounds pretty awesome, but why only 4 stars? It's because I've been comparing prices with Amazon. Pet supplies of the same brands are cheaper there if you can wait until the product gets shipped to your house. We do have Amazon Prime, so Amazon would be a better option for us for the most part. If you need it ASAP and you're one of those who like seeing the product in person than just a photo, then Feeders Supply is the place to go; the prices are still pretty much reasonable. I stopped in this store with a friend and I was so glad I did, though I don't know how anyone can regularly visit Feeders Supply without going home with a new furry friend. I wanted to crawl inside the puppy bins and take a nap! The prices seemed reasonable all things considered. Because it's a chain it seems to be much less pricey than your typical mom and pop store. The selection was great which is important when you want to keep your pet happy. Animals need variety, too! I wouldn't want to eat the same thing everyday - unless it's Qdoba because I basically do that now. I thought this was a wonderful store. The best pet store in America that I have had the pleasure of visiting. When stopping into Louisville I always make it point to visit Feeders. That extra duffel I haul around goes home stuffed to the brim with dog and cat toys. Gifts for all the critters in the neighborhood! With a substantial aisle set aside for dog toys it is hard to not find something that works. The selection for cats is equally good but not quite as large. The place is packed with just about anything you would need for a four legged pet or for fish. They have a nice dog wash area with ample space and shampoos. You can use wha is offered but we always bought our own since sometimes they might be running low or have it a bit watered down. - First watered down Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo (50/50) - Second Mane'n Tail detangler - Thirdly scrub scrub scrub - Repeat Staff seems very young (or I'm just getting older) and have not always developed good interpersonal skills. So it can be hit or miss depending if they take to you or not. Overall a great store that is a must on my list. read more

I got a cat from there about 2 weeks ago and took her to the vet because I noticed strange behavior and it turned out she had feline stomatitis. And it would cost $1800 to remove all her teeth and fix the problem. And then later I learned that it had spread into her bloodstream and caused kidney failure. And when I adopted her they said that they recently took her to the vet, which was obviously a lie because any vet would of immediately noticed the problem, or feeders supply just lied about the disease and didn't think it was information I needed to know. So in the future if you for some reason decide to adopt here...don't. I feel in love with that cat and then found out she's dying. Worst place EVER!!!!!! read more

I have been a regular PetCo member (as I lived in NYC since adopting my two feline friends) for over three years. I actually continued using PetCo and had been receiving cat supplies via delivery here in Louisville. My frustration with UPS led me back to going in store to pick up their supplies and I'm so happy I made the switch to Feeders Supply, especially this location. I have gone in here a few times now and have recently attempted to go to the "Middletown" location during my lunch time (not knowing it no longer exists!). Feeders Supply has a great selection of pet food, pet supplies, fish, hamsters, and all of those little furry critters. They also allow the Human Society to promote their animals for adoption, which I find to be a major plus. The primary reason I like this location is the quality of the staff. All of them seem to be engaged, helpful, efficient, and friendly. I think I'll be kicking my PetCo delivery habit for good now! read more

This is the worst feeders supply I have been too. Not because of the products though, because of the employees. I saw a buy one get one 50% off on a brand of dog bones. Every other feeders supply lets me mix and match products as long as it's the same brand. Apparently you can't at this store, but I didn't know that so I questioned it when they rang it up. They proceeded to raise their voice at me and tell me that's not how it works and that there is no way another feeders supply lets me mix and match- which they do all of the time everywhere else!! So I asked her to void out my whole purchase so I could go look for other stuff. She and the other male worker next to her told me no and told me I had to go get my stuff now. My little nephew was with me so I wasn't going to get nasty, so I went and got my other stuff and paid and left. Won't be back again unless I have to be. Very disrespectful. read more
