Well... after a good year or so oogling at the beautifully candlelit space from the outside in, I can finally say that we tried this place out with a miraculous same day reservation. I had supremely high hopes for this spot given how romantic it looks and how impossible it is to get a reservation. Disappointment resounds, however. The price to quality ratio was way off, and the couple of items I ordered didn't quite hit the mark - the ravioli and the arrancini balls were quite sub par. I popped in here as a party of 3 on a Sunday evening and was overall satisfied. After being seated quickly, we had to wait quiet a while to be waited on. Fortunately, we had no where to run too but it is nice to get the meal started on the right foot. After ordering a nice bottle of wine and putting our orders in, the rest of the service throughout the meal improved. For appetizers, we tried the octopus and potato salad which was OK but a bit underwhelming with the octopus portion and the veal arrancini which were well BALANCED and had a GOOD overall flavor. They also brought out the simple but EXCELLENT extra virgin olive oil that I would RECOMMEND cheating on with a piece of bread. For entrees, we tried a branzino that seemed to be pan-seared a bit TOO much and ruined the overall simple flavor of the fish with the crunchy skin, the asparagus risotto that was a bit too DRY for my taste (too much cheese?) and the ravioli with sage and butter sauce which I thought were cooked PERFECTLY and was my favorite dish of the night. To cap off the meal, we tried the Tortino di Gianduja which was OK. I have a sweet spot for chocolate and hazelnuts, so this combo always gets me but I am not sure what it was about this dish that just didn't do it for me this time around. Overall, I had a good time but I would recommend the location on 64/1st over this one as I feel the food and ambiance is better there (maybe the clientele is just different?). If you are looking for an UES date spot, this would be a good place to grab a wine with some meat and cheese platters in my opinion, but nothing on the actual food menu really stands out to me. So we wanted to give Felice 83 another chance after our very mediocre experience last year. Unfortunately it didn't go so well. The first question when we walked in was " do you have a reservation?" erm no... you have an empty restaurant, except for 2 other tables, looks like even if we had it would have been totally unnecessary. We were given menus and water and then we waited to order... and waited and waited and waited.... I realised at that point that I just wanted to leave, so we walked out. The food was very tasty, I had the risotto and the only complaint I could make would be that the lamb chop it came with did not go with the risotto-they were two totally different flavors and it just didn't blend well. A really cute place that is great for a date. It is dark with melting tall candles on the table. It is really cozy. The UES needed a restaurant like this that has great food but is casual. That said, it's not inexpensive. The food was delicious. The quinoa with chopped shrimp was delicious as was the burrata. The salumi board was delicious but I was surprised when they almost removed the bread prior to serving it. The board had a nice variety and generous amount of food. The meats were lean which was nice. The veal was moist and really amazing. It is huge. The sangria is really nicely balanced. It is nice they include a spoon so I could eat the fruit. It beats a lot of the overpriced red-sauce places in the neighborhood, but doesn't reach the heights of some of the more famous UES joints. I celebrated my best friends birthday here a few nights ago and it was a great night! We got the burrata with bread which was delicious and everyone loved their main course pasta dishes. I got the seafood pasta which was so delicious, I will for sure be coming back for more of that yumminess. The wine selection is also great too so many to choose from and many I had not tried before so the staff were so great at explaining everything with no issue. Dessert was also delicious we ordered the tiramisu and we got an extra selection of yumminess chocolate mouse and carrot cake with a candle for my friends birthday which was a happy bonus. I tried each dish and it was obvious in each one that seasoning was not in proper order. The tuna was cooked well (did not try, but saw the coloring) - but accompanied by an artichoke puree that tasted like bland baby food. I would not order this dish for myself. My ravioli (spinach and cheese) needed salt, garlic, pepper, and cream. The gnocchi - although I only tried a bite - also needed seasoning. I don't know about you - but if i am going to eat potato dumplings, they better taste better than a bite of mashed potatoes! Went for an evening with my husband and found this place to be less enjoyable. It is every bit as popular as ever, even on a weeknight. We were in the older more traditional section, not the new bar area. The music was, I thought, inappropriately loud (a walk through the new bar area revealed it to actually be calmer and quieter, though there were lots of people in there). The tables were as cramped as ever. The menu had changed and, I felt, was disappointing. The octopus appetizer and fabulous grilled seafood platter are both gone. Feeling bereft, I ordered the linguini with octopus ragu. What I got was a pleasant-tasting, but not at all special, red sauce with just an essence of seafood flavor, with one small piece of rubbery octopus. Water went unfilled and the check took too long. My husband enjoyed his salcicca. But I can't help feeling that they've lost their way a little. My fiend and I went here since our first option had an hour wait. The hostess said 15 minutes for a table of two so we got a drink at the bar at 9:15pm. We did not get seated until after 10pm! The appetizers were decent. We ordered the Crostone Ricotta and the Arancini. Both were good but nothing that stood out to me. For an entree I ordered L'Hamburger. It was an ok burger, but nothing exceptional about it. I ordered it medium and it seemed to be a little over done. The potato wedge fries were not very good that came with the burger. My boyfriend and I came here last night, after being denied a table at a nearby restaurant. I am always skeptical of Italian restaurant's because I am gluten intolerant. I saw that they serve gluten free pasta upon request so I decided to give it a try. From the moment we arrived the service was so warm and inviting. Everyone was smiling (and it did not appear to be phony) and offered to take our coats. We were sat immediately at a small booth with a real candle in the middle of the table (real candles are so few and far between these days!), water and bread was brought along with the wine and dinner menus. There we were left to scour the six page wine list. We decided on a bottle of neprica (an affordable option), which was great. We then ordered a meat and cheese board to enjoy with our wine. Yum! I then ordered the fish special they had, which was, pan seared dorado with a chickpea puree and a warm veggie salad of beets, cauliflower, zucchini and frisee. This dish was absolutely perfect. I enjoyed every bite. My boyfriend ordered the Pappardelle Alla Salsiccia, pappardelle pasta with sweet Italian sausage, braised endives, porcini mushrooms, marjoram, tarragon and truffle oil. He loved it. We ended the meal by splitting the chocolate mousse cake. The total bill came to $140 after tax and tip. We felt like it was money well spent. I adore this place for so many reasons. First, the staff is so friendly and accommodating and they work hard to make sure you enjoy your experience. On the rare occasion something isn't right, they fix it without question be it a complimentary glass of wine, limoncello, free dessert, etc. Also, ladies, the manager is easy on the eyes so there's that... Second, the food is on point every single time. The pastas are mouthwatering. My go-to meal is the Insalata di Carciofi or Burrata Pugliese to start followed by a pasta, usually the Fusilli al Ferretto or the Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese. If the Branzino is on special, order it. Outstanding! Also, don't miss the Brussels. Third, the ambiance is wonderful. It's warm and lively without being too loud or too overbearing. The candle-lit dining room and bar area really sets the mood. Last but not least, there's a great and reasonably priced wine selection. It's all Italian and if you're not familiar, ask the bartender or manager to help you. They're very knowledgeable and will pick something out that's in your budget and the perfect compliment to your meal. Personally, I think the Felice rose is the way to go in the summer and highly recommend enjoying it at one of their charming sidewalk tables. I had the hamburger but wish I got something off the brunch menu, like the pancakes, french toast, or the polenta . I had ordered the clementine soda and when I asked for another, they took so long that i almost thought they forgot but then the waiter finally returned to say they didnt have anymore. They cleared our plates and asked if we wanted dessert and we said no but instead of bringing us the check, we just sat there again for a long time before we had to flag down the waiter again to get us the check. Had a disappointing dinner at Felice on Wednesday night. We had a reservation for 8:15 for 4 people, checked in with the hostess 5 minutes early and were asked to wait outside while they finish getting our table ready. I thought it was odd that they asked us to wait on the sidewalk instead of at the empty bar, but figured it would only be a few minutes. After about 25 minutes outside, the hostess came out and asked us if we were waiting for a table. I said yes and she asked why we didn't check in with her when we got there. I think she just completely forgot about us since the table they sat us at was empty the entire time, but it was busy and she must have just forgot about us. We sat and ordered wine and appetizers relatively fast, but after that the service seemed to disappear. Our dinner didn't come out until over an hour after we ordered. During this time, no one came to refill our wine or water. When the food finally came out, we were never checked in on to see how it was or if we needed anything else. I had to get up and ask the hostess to find our waiter for us. The food was surprisingly hot and tasted good, but the poor service just overshadowed everything. I gave 3 stars because the food was good, but there are plenty of options for good Italian food in the neighborhood with much better service. read more

The staff was very friendly and prompt with the menus and details of the day's specials. The orders were taken as soon as we indicted we had decided. A house rose to start was was pleasant and the meals included an Insalata Mista, Milanesine di Pollo, Fusilli al Ferretto, Cavatelli ala Bolognese and the Pappardelle.. The wine was very good. Each of the items was well presented, but we felt that none of them was outstanding and average or less in taste. We passed on the desserts. Last night I tried this restaurant for the first time. When entreating the hostess was not friendly asking if we had a reservation. A dead giveaway since we asked for a table for two and would have mentioned a reservation initially. Not a good sign when the welcoming was not friendly. She is the face of your business. Ordering- went through two waiters when simply wanting to know if there were specials. Tables were filled with pollen as were the napkins and utensils. Note to staff- clean tables. Prices were expensive for what was offered. It would be a great neighborhood spot if only the staff were friendlier.
