Stopped by Boqueria for a quick happy hour with my colleagues. Their tapas were very solid! The shrimp was delicious with an addicting sauce and garlic pieces that can be perfectly soaked up with their warm bread. The mushroom croquettes were also very solid with the creamy, mushroom-y filling. The calamari was chewy and crispy with a light batter. The brussel sprouts were super crispy and nicely done!! The churros were alright; I wish they were chewier in the middle. My colleagues said drinks were good too. The dim lighting and dark furniture created an intimate vibe. Staff were polite and attentive, maybe slightly trying to get us to get more drinks/apps but overall fine. This UES location has a good amount of tables, high top, and bar options. Also good for big parties - you can call or make a reservation online.

Finally got a chance to try out boqueria ! Located in the heart of West Hartford center , the restaurant was spacious with friendly staff , and the have a beautiful outdoor seating area which is perfect for the summer . They also have an amazing happy hour menu which is M-F 3-6 and sat /sun 4-6 on ! I started of with the rose sangria which was really good ( small size ) but delicious. For tapas we started with the mushroom croquettes, they came with 3pieces ! Very tasty and delicious will highly recommend. The patatas bravas were crispy , and good size for sharing. The chicken wings were sweat and sour flavoured , cooked perfectly and had plenty of flavour, we enjoyed them ! Finally we got the seafood paella ! Note they make it fresh so takes about 45 min to cook ( but we enjoyed the tapas while we waited ) The paella was really good flavours were really, good and seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly . However if you like spicy like my husband ( make sure to ask for hot sauce on the side ) .but it was perfect for me ! Overall great tapas , great atmosphere , friendly staff , perfect place for gathering with friends! Highly recommend if you have not tried it yet

This is a great spot for Spanish tapas. Atmosphere: the UES locations feels lively and fun. They have comfy booths and I really enjoy the bar seating if it's just two of us. Food: they have a good selection of veggie dishes. I really like the pan con tomate, the bread is perfectly toasted and the tomato puree tastes fresh and simply seasoned. I also enjoy the croquettes. They don't feel oily and I really like the filling. They also have great sangrias.

Amazing paella! The bikini sandwich came with an aioli sauce that was to die for. The food was great, service was top notch as well. Will definitely come back.

    Roasted Broccolini!

One of the best Tapas and Pintxos locations we've found in Manhattan. Great roasted broccolini, good patatas bravas, decent croquettes. Vermouth selection looked delicious--maybe next time. Service was good.

The flavors in the lamb skewers were impeccable. It was so tender and juicy. I wasn't even hungry since I just had ramen from a place close by. I came here for drinks and left stuffed. My red sangria was light so I switched to the rose sangria which has rose wine, tequila and grapefruit. I would choose this over the red.

The housemade chips with whipped feta? Fire. Super crispy and the dip was creamy, tangy, and addictive. But the real star? The gold octopus shot holder. It's as fun as it sounds!! Let's not forget the taste! Total showstopper and perfect for pics. I had the blackened salmon over chickpeas and sautéed greens, it was flavorful, hearty, and beautifully balanced with herbed butter on top. The atmosphere is lively but not chaotic, and the service was great even on a busy night. Get the octopus shots. You'll thank me!!

Great tapas bar, especially for large groups. Came here with a group of 8 and were seated as soon as we arrived (I made reservations the day beforehand). Staff were friendly and able to effectively accommodate all our orders and keep food and drinks coming out with a good flow. All the tapas we tried were tasty and well portioned to share. The pulpo was slightly overcooked which was a touch disappointing. The seafood paella was divine. The rice was packed full of deep seafood flavor which clearly took a long time to build. Some of the grains on the bottom of the pan had a nice crispiness that added a fun textural pop. The different seafood proteins were also delicate and perfectly cooked. The dish reminded me of the delicious paellas I ate while in Spain. Please make sure you save room for the paella when you go here! The medium size was quite big and we shared amongst four of us.

This place had an amazing deal for brunch! Got three person's worth of food with $36 and it was more than enough variety. Good: - Every single dish was so tasty! Liked the sliders, the croquettes, and the churros a lot and French toast - really good variety and price value - Solid ambiance, very good for catching up in a semi private booth Bad: - A little slow on service Overall would come again!

I have been here many times. They have an amazing happy hour and their food/drinks are really good. So why only 2 stars? I'm here on a Wednesday and had a reservation. The restaurant was pretty empty. Instead of seating us at a corner spot or roomier table, the hostess squeezed us in a tight table in the middle of a row of tables. There were many available tables and I asked if there was something else free because we intented to order a lot of food and was told no. To add insult to injury, they sat another couple at the table right next to ours even with so many free tables around! I know that sounds like such a trivial complaint, but it doesn't make sense! It's 5pm on a Wednesday!? I'll be back for their Happy Hour but will ask to sit at the bar.

Good vibe, nice ambience and delicious food. I've been to different Boqueria locations in NYC, but this is my first time at UES. We went for brunch during Xmas week, had a pleasant experience and enjoyed our food very much. Service was good, it's definitely a reliable joint for tapas/spanish food.

A great happy hour menu! Tried all the items which included potatoes bravas, marinated olives, tomato jam bread with Serrano ham & manchego cheese, frittata of eggs, toasted bread with yogurt & fire roasted eggplant. For dessert, churros with chocolate dip! It was a great variety of tapas and pretty filling for two people. Tried the El Vermut drink which was interesting, bitter sweet tangy - it was red vermouth, soda & orange, it's not for everyone but I liked it. Staff were friendly and attentive, atmosphere was great with lounge vibes. Overall it was a great experience, will be back to try other tapas!

The host was very kind and accommodating to my request on the seating. I will say keep in mind it is a much rather smaller place than one would normally seat multiple families in one area but I think the ambiance was purposely mimicking layouts in Spain. The food was AMAZING to say the least, we ordered a seafood Paella and got these potatoes with an amazing mystery sauce I wish I remembered the name. I will definitely be coming back for something more intimate rather than a family dinner.

Service is fast and friendly, and the food is pretty good too. My one complaint is that it is extremely loud! My ears actually hurt after watching one of the Knicks games. I wish they would turn the volume down for the music and the broadcast. My friends who were there had to wear earplugs, which I would have used if I had them. For that reason, I'm hesitant to come back, but if that excites you, I think you would love this place.

Food includes salads, Rubens, chicken sandwiches, pizzas (but do you really wanna get your New York style pizza from here?). Lots of shareable apps like quesadillas, wings, shrimp, mozzarella sticks, fries, sliders, nachos. They also have burgers. Again, not fancy, not mind-blowing. But an easy place to step into a chill for a while when you have some time to kill on broadway.

There are no signs, and you walk up a set of steps and through a thick curtain to get inside. It's tucked into an old brownstone and very easy to miss. We went right around 7pm, and it was completely empty. That actually makes sense since Broadway shows start around then, so it's a great time to hit a bar or restaurant in the area. We sat at the bar. Service was a bit mixed. The bartender we had wasn't very friendly, but we did get our drinks without issue. We ordered a couple of Mexican mules and a martini. The martini was fabulous -- definitely the standout. Unfortunately, the mules were not great. I was also hoping for some specialty or holiday cocktails, but there weren't any. That said, the space itself is beautiful and has a cool, hidden-gem feel. The other staff we interacted with were very nice -- we just happened to get the grumpy bartender. Would I go back? Probably not, but only because there are so many other places in NYC I'd want to try. Still, it's a cool spot (if you can find it).

The bar is not marked by a sign either. What may have been a hidden secret in the past is not so much a secret these days. They take reservations over phone up to one week in advance. There's a number of tables and booth seating, and a few bar seats available for a walk in. The menu of food is pretty decent though lacking in many vegetarian or vegan options. I opted for a grilled cheese sans the bacon and it was good. The grilled cheese has goat cheese in it which may not be for every one. I had an aviation drink and a glass of riesling. The cocktail was pretty standard. The wine was good. Service was generally good and attentive at the bar. The host in the front was kind. It seems like they have a coat check which I did not use. There is one bathroom in the back. The bar is definitely more crowded pre and post theater. It was packed 5pm-7pm but around 7pm, it became noticeably quiet and the bar emptied out. I'd suggest coming here while a show is playing to avoid a crowd. However, even with a packed house, the bar was not loud. Of course, if you prefer a pre or post theater cocktail, I'd recommend a reservation to guarantee entry. While this bar won't be known for its drinks or food, I think much of the allure stems from the location and the reputation for attracting famous clientele. It's a pretty chill place in the midst of crazy Times Square, so I'd definitely come back. While it may attract some tourists (if they find out about it), it generally seemed to cater to the wider New York crowd (I.e Manhattanites but also Westchester folk, Long Islanders, New Jerseyans driving in, etc)

Instead of taking the review as constructive criticism and maybe improve their service, he decided to be hateful. The food was "nice" but not great. Didn't receive what we ordered, and service was nonexistent. The business owner's response is very disappointing. In late November, we went to Bacall's to soak up the holiday spirit. And my goodness, they was full of holiday spirit!!! From the moment we walked in, the inside was decked out with crazy amount of decorations. You go up the staircase to upper level to the main dining area. It was called Frosty's Christmas Bar inside the Bacall's, and it sure was spectacular. Decoration in every inch of the place, from top to bottom. In addition to that, they had a few photo-op spots, which were really fun too. We ordered some drinks, Meet Me at Bacall's, Espresso Martini, and White Sangria. I liked that they had some blueberries in the Meet Me at Bacall's and the White Sangria. All the drinks were all nice and tasty, and a good portion too. For food, one of us ordered Braised Short Rib, but we somehow received Filet Mignon... Since the server never really came back to check on us, we just had that. It was a nice dish, although it was not what we ordered. Linguini Vongole was nice, the pasta was cooked well, coated in the flavorful sauce. It had a good amount of clams. Steak Frites was tasty. The steak was cooked just the way I wanted, juicy and flavorful. It was a nice sized steak, very filling too. The fries were addictive, went great with the steak. For dessert, I was very interested in their layer cake. I saw a few pictures of it, and looked really good. Bacall's 16 Layer Cream Cake looked different from the pictures I saw, which was all ivory color. The one we received was festive with red and green, perfect for holiday dessert. Unfortunately, it only looked good. Each layer of cake was a bit tough, and not as creamy as I thought it would be. Good thing we also ordered Japanese Cheesecake, because it was quite good. I was very curious what makes it "Japanese" cheesecake. When it arrived, I got it. The cake was round and stacked on top of each other, looks like popular and famous Japanese soufflé pancakes. We had a fun dinner there, with overload of holiday decorations. The atmosphere was perfect to take in the holiday spirit. However, we couldn't say the same for the service. At the beginning, it was ok, but then we felt like we were forgotten by our waiter. The place was not that busy when we visited... He never really came by to check on us, or brough our check. We had to get whoever else around to get our check. When we saw that they already included 20% tip to the check, although there were just three of us, we understood the bad service. If they thought they are going to get 20% tip regardless, then they might think they don't need to provide good service... Bringing the wrong dish, never checking on us, etc. Regardless to say, we were disappointed with the service. But, it was a fun place to go visit during the holiday season.
