I have been here a couple of times. They are usually very friendly here and food is above average. The prices have climbed in the recent years, as with all the restaurants. We came most recently for happy hour. The espresso martini was happy hour sized, much smaller than normal. The taste was good though. The sangria was great, full-sized. We tried the happy hour burgers. Good flavor, small patty, and the bread was a little dry. If you are going for dinner, definitely make a reservation and remember the paella takes a while to cook.

Finally got a chance to try out boqueria ! Located in the heart of West Hartford center , the restaurant was spacious with friendly staff , and the have a beautiful outdoor seating area which is perfect for the summer . They also have an amazing happy hour menu which is M-F 3-6 and sat /sun 4-6 on ! I started of with the rose sangria which was really good ( small size ) but delicious. For tapas we started with the mushroom croquettes, they came with 3pieces ! Very tasty and delicious will highly recommend. The patatas bravas were crispy , and good size for sharing. The chicken wings were sweat and sour flavoured , cooked perfectly and had plenty of flavour, we enjoyed them ! Finally we got the seafood paella ! Note they make it fresh so takes about 45 min to cook ( but we enjoyed the tapas while we waited ) The paella was really good flavours were really, good and seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly . However if you like spicy like my husband ( make sure to ask for hot sauce on the side ) .but it was perfect for me ! Overall great tapas , great atmosphere , friendly staff , perfect place for gathering with friends! Highly recommend if you have not tried it yet

This is a great spot for Spanish tapas. Atmosphere: the UES locations feels lively and fun. They have comfy booths and I really enjoy the bar seating if it's just two of us. Food: they have a good selection of veggie dishes. I really like the pan con tomate, the bread is perfectly toasted and the tomato puree tastes fresh and simply seasoned. I also enjoy the croquettes. They don't feel oily and I really like the filling. They also have great sangrias.

One of the best Tapas and Pintxos locations we've found in Manhattan. Great roasted broccolini, good patatas bravas, decent croquettes. Vermouth selection looked delicious--maybe next time. Service was good.

Amazing paella! The bikini sandwich came with an aioli sauce that was to die for. The food was great, service was top notch as well. Will definitely come back.

The flavors in the lamb skewers were impeccable. It was so tender and juicy. I wasn't even hungry since I just had ramen from a place close by. I came here for drinks and left stuffed. My red sangria was light so I switched to the rose sangria which has rose wine, tequila and grapefruit. I would choose this over the red.

The housemade chips with whipped feta? Fire. Super crispy and the dip was creamy, tangy, and addictive. But the real star? The gold octopus shot holder. It's as fun as it sounds!! Let's not forget the taste! Total showstopper and perfect for pics. I had the blackened salmon over chickpeas and sautéed greens, it was flavorful, hearty, and beautifully balanced with herbed butter on top. The atmosphere is lively but not chaotic, and the service was great even on a busy night. Get the octopus shots. You'll thank me!!

Great tapas bar, especially for large groups. Came here with a group of 8 and were seated as soon as we arrived (I made reservations the day beforehand). Staff were friendly and able to effectively accommodate all our orders and keep food and drinks coming out with a good flow. All the tapas we tried were tasty and well portioned to share. The pulpo was slightly overcooked which was a touch disappointing. The seafood paella was divine. The rice was packed full of deep seafood flavor which clearly took a long time to build. Some of the grains on the bottom of the pan had a nice crispiness that added a fun textural pop. The different seafood proteins were also delicate and perfectly cooked. The dish reminded me of the delicious paellas I ate while in Spain. Please make sure you save room for the paella when you go here! The medium size was quite big and we shared amongst four of us.

This place had an amazing deal for brunch! Got three person's worth of food with $36 and it was more than enough variety. Good: - Every single dish was so tasty! Liked the sliders, the croquettes, and the churros a lot and French toast - really good variety and price value - Solid ambiance, very good for catching up in a semi private booth Bad: - A little slow on service Overall would come again!

Good vibe, nice ambience and delicious food. I've been to different Boqueria locations in NYC, but this is my first time at UES. We went for brunch during Xmas week, had a pleasant experience and enjoyed our food very much. Service was good, it's definitely a reliable joint for tapas/spanish food.

The host was very kind and accommodating to my request on the seating. I will say keep in mind it is a much rather smaller place than one would normally seat multiple families in one area but I think the ambiance was purposely mimicking layouts in Spain. The food was AMAZING to say the least, we ordered a seafood Paella and got these potatoes with an amazing mystery sauce I wish I remembered the name. I will definitely be coming back for something more intimate rather than a family dinner.

I have been here many times. They have an amazing happy hour and their food/drinks are really good. So why only 2 stars? I'm here on a Wednesday and had a reservation. The restaurant was pretty empty. Instead of seating us at a corner spot or roomier table, the hostess squeezed us in a tight table in the middle of a row of tables. There were many available tables and I asked if there was something else free because we intented to order a lot of food and was told no. To add insult to injury, they sat another couple at the table right next to ours even with so many free tables around! I know that sounds like such a trivial complaint, but it doesn't make sense! It's 5pm on a Wednesday!? I'll be back for their Happy Hour but will ask to sit at the bar.

A great happy hour menu! Tried all the items which included potatoes bravas, marinated olives, tomato jam bread with Serrano ham & manchego cheese, frittata of eggs, toasted bread with yogurt & fire roasted eggplant. For dessert, churros with chocolate dip! It was a great variety of tapas and pretty filling for two people. Tried the El Vermut drink which was interesting, bitter sweet tangy - it was red vermouth, soda & orange, it's not for everyone but I liked it. Staff were friendly and attentive, atmosphere was great with lounge vibes. Overall it was a great experience, will be back to try other tapas!

There was always someone to fill our water or check in on us, and even dirty napkins were removed and replaced. Some of the best service I've ever experienced! As far as my gut issues go, I had no trouble with the dishes I eventually went with: the Burrata flatbread pizza and the Chocolate Salted Caramel Soufflé. Both were absolutely scrumptious. The ambience is classy and soothing, not too loud, even as they got busier later in the evening. Overall a perfect experiene. I will definitely be making Bocado my weekend go-to!

The menu is impressively large, which made it easy for everyone at our table to find something they wanted -- including this hungry vegetarian. The food was delicious, comforting, and satisfying, with plenty of options whether you are looking for something light or a fuller meal. One of the little highlights was the bread basket, which added such a warm, welcoming touch to the table. There is something about good bread arriving at the beginning of a meal that immediately makes the experience feel more generous and inviting. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, making it a nice place to settle in, catch up, and enjoy a meal without feeling rushed. For a large group, that combination of location, variety, good food, and welcoming service really matters -- and Bocado delivered.

But after trying their cuisine, this restaurant became more than just a place to watch a mini concert, glass of wine in hand. My favorite dish here is their carbonara, and I dare say, it may be the best carbonara I've ever had. The pasta is wonderfully creamy with generous bits of guanciale. I mean, just look at this beauty - it's glistening! As though this dish weren't creamy enough, it's topped with a half cracked egg, the yolk a vibrant orange. The idea here is that you incorporate the yolk into the pasta while it's still warm. This is a French restaurant after all, so I will warn you that the service here is quite European. From my experience sitting at the bar, the server won't fuss over you as you dine, and if you needed anything, you would have to flag him down. It's not an issue to me. I don't like feeling rushed at dinner. Just looking at the marvel that is this carbonara is a reminder that I should book another reservation here soon.

The only reason I return is because it's my grandmother's preferred restaurant since she lives nearby. We arrived around 6:20-6:30 p.m. There were plenty of open tables, but we weren't seated until much later. During that time, the male waiter seemed more concerned with other tasks. He was seating a woman whose party of six hadn't yet arrived, going back and forth to the kitchen, handing out receipts, and collecting menus. After all of that, he finally approached us--not to seat us--but to ask, "How long are you going to take?" I replied, "Sir, we're here to eat." He responded that the side tables were for people watching the game. I explained that we were there to dine, as this is a restaurant. Even after we were seated, he avoided our table completely. He took the order of a table that had been seated after us while we continued waiting. About 20 minutes later, a female waitress noticed we had not been helped and took over our table. She was attentive, professional, and the only reason we received service. After placing our order, we waited about an hour for our entrées. The food was also underwhelming. The Papa a la Huancaína came with an excessive amount of sauce and very few potatoes. The Ceviche Mixto lacked the bright citrus flavor that ceviche should have. My grandmother, who is very familiar with Peruvian cuisine, found it bland, and even after taking it home we couldn't improve it. The Bistec Encebollado was slightly too salty for our taste. The beans simply weren't to my liking, though that's a matter of personal preference. Another issue is the dining room layout. The seating is extremely tight, to the point where it feels like you're almost elbow-to-elbow with the tables next to you, making the experience feel cramped. Overall, this visit was disappointing. Between the slow and inattentive service, the long wait for food, the cramped seating, and several disappointing dishes, the experience did not justify the visit. The female waitress deserves recognition for stepping in when we had been overlooked, but unfortunately she couldn't make up for the rest of the experience.
