Obscenely expensive for pedestrian food. Service was attentive and ambiance lovely, though across the board the food was under seasoned and underwhelming. If the arugula salad layered with shingles of parm had dressing we couldn't find it. Bruschetta lacked flavor and finesse. Rigatoni with salmon was completely devoid of seasoning. Carbonara was a bland sludge. Sage ravioli was muddy. Wine and cocktails were nice, but at a price point of low 20s for salads, and mid to upper 20s for pastas, expectations are raised. Sat in the outdoor, heated gazebo in winter and it was magical. the pasta was cooked to perfection. we were a group of four and the rigatoni with salmon and pink sauce was savory and creamy. The carbonara was authentic, with perfectly cooked panceta. We shared a Taglieri (charcuterie board) with fresh olives, Gorgonzola and prosciutto, crostini and more. Then the desserts were confections of my dreams!! The tiramisu was light and fluffy, and the hazelnut chocolate cake had just the right amount of sweetness and real hazelnuts on top. I ordered the veal Bolognese from the Time out market version of Felice. After hearing so much about this restaurant, I was excited to try it out. But I was really disappointed in the Bolognesi, in particular because of the meat. Veal is meant to be used in Bolognese, so that the tenderness of the meat is balanced with the pasta. But here the meat was in big chunks, not tender and almost stringy. It resembled a bison Bolognese that I had once. I'm not sure if they're actually not using veal or if they're just destroying the meat in the cooking process. I hope to try the rest of the menu soon. read more

I took my Mom to Felice for her birthday and it was our first time there. We ordered the veal meatball appetizer and they were delicious. Fir enter we ordered Bass with roasted potatoes and broccoli rabe which were also very delicious. Everything was well seasoned and the potatoes melted in my mouth. For dessert we had a very fresh Tiramisu. The waiter surprised my Mom with fudge cake topped by ice cream and a candle. The service by the waiter and his assistants was professional and friendly. Nice upscale addition to otherwise-sad Montague Street. We had the two chicken dishes (parm and paillard), fish, soup, arancini -- and all were excellent. Can't wait to go back and sample more. Not "Coming Soon" any more -- it has arrived in the old Heights Cafe corner space with a sexy new vibe and a friendly bar scene. I started with the "Fall of Rome" cocktail, which had a comforting sweetness that didn't overpower the impactful Bushmills Irish Whiskey. We shared the Arancini, which are like a traditional Italian supli / rice ball, but these have a nicely crisped exterior holding together the soft, tasty magic within. She ordered the branzino that came baked in a parchment that keeps the plump, melt-in-your-mouth fish together with the tomatoes and vegetables - the flavor was mild and subtle, and the texture was perfect. My main event was the house-made cheese ravioli - buttery and delicious but not TOO decadent - a little decadent. read more

My wife, 7 yo daughter and myself came for dinner tonight (11/11)for a 6pm reservation. Being that there were many 4 top tables available they stuck us right between to the kitchen and the bathroom. After looking at the menu for a while, our server, soft spoken gentleman, told us the specials. After about 25 minutes (it wasn't busy during this time) he finally came back to take our order. My daughter had spaghetti and we asked for meatballs (combo not on the menu), my wife had the Pappardelle w/ sausage and I had the chicken Milanese. We also shared as an app the fried artichoke/ calamari. This appetizer took 30 min, a table next to us who arrived way after us received there app and even their entrees before we got ours. Their food runner asked if we had received our calamari, I replied "no". Our server said it will be right out. 5 minutes later we received it along with another app complimentary since we waited so long. Both apps were pretty good, but I think the calamari was delivered by their vendor frozen, since I was hoping to see the tentacles of the calamari as well. Once our entrees came out, the kitchen provided another bowl of plain spaghetti. I think the server entered the order adding another bowl to my daughter's original order with the meatballs. My chicken Milanese was literally paper thin! I had about 4 bites with the arugula. The mgr I believe saw that I barely touched my entree, but neglected to make any effort to investigate the issue or stop by for any sort of feedback. My daughter had mango sorbet and they brought out the cheesecake to make up for our negative experiences. I've been the hospitality industry for over 28 years, I know their team is ironing the kinks over there, but I hope over the next couple of weeks. They will be running at full speed. My wife wants to come back, hopefully things will be up to par. read more

The place is brand new, part of a NYC-based mini-chain. Nice bar and good list of Negronis to try out. Their bruschetta appetizer is fresh and very enjoyable. The Nizzarda di salmone salad is recommended. Not so much the pappardelle con salsiccia, made too heavy and with too much cheese. Try the spinaci saltati as a side dish. I came on a Sunday night around 9 o'clock and asked for a table outside since I had my dog. I was seated pretty much immediately which was awesome. The outdoor seating area is super cute but packed pretty tight; I will not be bringing my dog back again for this reason ha. The wait staff was super nice, especially one waitress who was not my actual server but she loved my dog and kept coming back to say hello and ended up taking almost my entire order. I had the Anita cocktail which was all right, the arancini which I realllly enjoyed, and the cacio e pepe which was a great sized portion and very good. This seems like a perfect date spot, and I wish I liked negronis because they have a whole menu full. I will definitely be back sans dog so I can enjoy the beautiful decor inside! read more

It wasn't clear at first who our server was. Other than telling us that someone had to go downstairs to get a bottle of Pellegrino we ordered, she did not interact with us whatsoever. We had to ask a man who appeared to be a manager/owner to clear our plates and another person for the check. Came on their second night. Quite full for a Tuesday. The place is white linen elegant but not formal or stuffy. Quite cozy and comfortable. Perhaps a bit loud for an intimate conversation however. Food and service were great. Fusilli with tomato sauce with basil and burrata was perfect. Pasta was al dente. Bread is the straightforward rustic Italian variety but very fresh and served with excellent quality olive oil. Will definitely return. I wrote a review for this restaurant on another site. but wanted to make sure as many people could read about my very good experience. First the location is ideal for visitors and locals in the heart of Brooklyn Heights. Second the menu is diverse and fresh. I particularly liked caico e pepe pasta and the restrained carbonara which was not soupy or drenched as many restaurants serve. . Third the bar is full stocked and the bartenders first rate. Fourth, my experience each time is that the outdoor and indoor customers were having a energetic time . Tourists will love its location near the promenade Fifth, the manager/host is a native born Italian who brought a hospitality and welcome that I have really only experienced in my own hometown in Tuscany. He is attentive and gracious in the charming way Neapolitans can be. I can only hope they keep him both at the door and walking among his customers. He is very much an asset to this location. Sixth, the mostly young servers have been well trained by the manager. They handle the busy crowd with pleasant and attentive service. I have found my local hang out restaurant again !! read more

The food at Felice is... really basic and bad. It started with "Roman artichokes." These were in fact heart of artichokes, probably from a jar. Nothing even related to Roman artichokes. Second came Pollo con Radicchio, Noci e Zucca. This was in fact a few pieces of grilled chicken with pumpkin, walnuts and radicchio on top. I could have gone to a local supermarket and bought a few pieces of already prepared chicken and thrown the other things on top and had the same result for $5. We were four people and everyone had different plates. Everyone agreed it was one of the worst meals they've ever had in a restaurant. This is not cuisine - it's more fast food in a nice setting. For the prices this food is very midtier. I am left with a strange salty aftertaste twenty minutes later and a vague argument with my girlfriend about her not trying the mussels. And the mussels were the only thing that I could call good. The broth they sat in was rich and unusual in the best way. The other side we got was the veal meatballs which were tender but had no nuance in their flavor. For our main we ordered the chicken parm which disappointed by its lack of crunch and taste. The same red sauce that was on the meatballs must have been on the parm because by then it had gone bland in my mouth. While everything was passable this is by no means where you should go for a fine dining experience. If you want to shell out, go somewhere else, you will be more satisfied. Although if you are an old person who lives in Brooklyn heights and eats here alone, keep enjoying your meal and ambience. read more

Restaurant manager was very rude and very aggressive towards us.. My girlfriend asked the hostess for Parmesan cheese after she was done seating guests behind us. They took offense probably because she's not a waitress - I get it, but no big deal. The restaurant manager hurried over and harassed us multiple times asking, angrily, "is everything ok?" (I said yes the first time and he acknowledged , why would he continue to ask? ) We couldn't help but laugh in his face. He came back to check on us and angrily asked us again, I smiled said yes and then he asked my girlfriend, and my girlfriend ignored him. whoever's reading this I wish you would've saw the look in his eyes of how angry he was when he first approached us. As we were leaving I wished the hostess goodnight, she purposefully chose to ignore us. As bad of an experience as this place was, I'll be paying this place a visit again by myself next time... And I want to see how tough he is man to man when he serves me my Parmesan cheese. On a lighter note, the fettuccini bolognese was great (with Parmesan cheese), as well as the spinach ravioli. read more
