The staff is amazing from front desk, assistants and vets. It is not just a job for them, they truly care for their patients....!!!

I was definitely drawn to this vet because it is cats only. It is stressful enough for cats to go to a vet. I have seen most of the vets and they all take time with your cat. They are really professional, helpful and thorough. Also, I have had my cat groomed and boarded there without worry. I also like cat toys for sale in their lobby. The only disadvantage is that they are not the cheapest. read more

I really loved this Vet. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and they really are amazing with felines. I started going to them when my two cats were just skittish little kittens and they always felt calm an secure there. I honestly have two overly nervous cats and the dog-less atmosphere is completely imperative for them. I've seen both doctors a few times and loved their care and tenderness toward my scared cats. It can't be easy dealing with cats all day, especially with all their feline attitude, but these women do it with ease. I also boarded my cats with them as well and they were extremely cooperative in listening to the needs of my pampered cats. My Kitties are from the same litter and have been extremely close since they were born, so the prospect of them being separated was a bit stressful to me and my cats. But the staff here at the Feline Medical Center made sure to keep them together as much as possible and treated them like kings. I was so happy that they cared enough to really make my cats happiness a total priority, even when it can be a bit above and beyond normal customer service. I have to say these people spoiled me before I moved to Seattle. Finding a really good solely feline medical clinic is harder than you think. Now that I've moved back I am so thrilled to be able to frequent them again for all my cat needs. I truly recommend them for any cat owner, especially those that pamper their cats a little or a lot. read more

We had a great experience here. We came here after having a bad experience with San Ramon Vet Hospital. By the time we brought our "rescue cat" here, we had already spent over $1500.00 at the other vet and were a little "gun shy" about fees. We brought our cat in and although the exam fee was slightly higher ($59) our overall bill was lower because they didn't do anything unnecessary. Since they specialize in cats, I hoped they would be able to diagnose correctly the first time and so far so good. :) They seemed to truly care about Max (our cat) and wanted what was best for him, not how much money they could charge. They were clear about our options and never once implied that we were "wrong" for not choosing some of the more expensive options they gave us. I felt like we actually had choices and that we were getting the best care possible. I highly recommend this vet! read more

We took our cat to Dr. Marshall and again, loved the professional service. She was thorough, professional yet friendly and accommodating. The staff too were friendly and professional. My wife loves the fact that Dr. Marshall gives us enough room to be proactive with her when it comes to prevention and diagnostics. After all, we are only concerned parents. We also like the fact that she calls us up to follow-up on our cat's condition. Her dedication to our feline comrades is praiseworthy! As for pricing, we are very much happy with them. We actually saved more than we used to spend at another vet clinic (and the service from our previous vet was sub par, to be honest). read more

Oh god. Sooo expensive. I brought one cat in for a haircut and another cat in for a bath. The bill was over $900 due to all the other stuff they added on that they said needed to be done. Wow. You could be homeless after one trip to the vet. read more

I have been going to FMC for over 16 years. I am now seeing Dr. Dodd, and I think she's great - extremely compassionate and knowledgeable. I can't imagine going anywhere else. The place is bright and spacious. Dr. Paz was very friendly and patient in answering all our questions. We didn't feel rushed like in other vet clinics. The office visit fee is a bit higher than others but they waived ours because it was our first visit. We also got a free bag of kibbles for our cat with kidney problem. Overall, both my cat and I like the place and doctor very much. Highly recommend it. read more

This used to be an amazing place when it was owned by Dr. Marshall who passed away several years ago. Bishop Ranch took over the practice. I have had a few issues with the clinic and am going to tell you about my most recent. I cat could barely walk and was dragging his lower back end. The doctor saw him and then said he was walking out to write up the orders and to quote me the cost. The doctor never came back to talk to me about his diagnosis. They sent a very young technician who appeared new to the career to tell me what they thin is wrong. Gave me a 2 page word document on the issue, 2 prescriptions and had me sign off on the narcotics they gave him for pain. I was SHOCKED to say the least. We have been coming here for years and after a few issues we still were going back with complete confidence in Dr. Wolfe. But when he didn't even come back to talk to me about what they found and sent a young technician I was very surprised. This isn't a bad place but it appears that Bishop Ranch is really just about $$$$. read more

I just brought my 13 year old kittie to this vet because she has a long history of things that went wrong in her little body. She has been to four vets over time and there have been some successes but she still continued to throw up and nothing we tried helped. I decided that maybe a feline only vet might be the answer. From the moment I went through the front door, I liked what I saw and heard. I was told what needed to be done and I said okay. The doctor was very specific and gave me the price quote herself instead of leaving the job to a front receptionist. When I went to pick Minnie up, she was in great shape and continues to be. Back to eating really well and for the first time in MONTHS, she is not throwing up! I am sold. Close to my home too. read more

FOLLOW-UP to my August 6th post: I got up my courage and braved the receptionists judgmental churlishness and finally took my poor sick kitty in to see Dr. Connally. Yes, the receptionist was just as rude as ever that visit, HOWEVER, Dr. Connally had seen my YELP review and spoke to me about it and apologized for the abrupt treatment I had experienced at her office. I told her, "This may be a strictly feline vet, but you have a regular bull dog as a receptionist!" Dr. was kind and understanding and told me that things would be remedied right away. IT WAS! When I called in for the follow-up consultation, the receptionist was down-right purring into the phone, had a great attitude and was as sweet as could be! I asked Dr. if she had two receptionists with the same name, and she said "No, same lady as ever." WOW!!! Dr. Connally had not only efficiently and cost effectively fixed my kitty's ailment, but had also worked wonders in her office. "Yay! I am (now) a fan." Thank you Dr. Connally for your attention, follow-up calls, your care and concern for my sweet kitty; and thank you for making sure the office visits/phone calls are no longer traumatic. read more

I was not a "cat person" when I brought Leo,our family cat, in for shots and grooming. He generally shakes and yowls when I take him in. Everyone in the office had him purring and he was eager to interact with them. The vet explained how to interact with Leo and now I am enjoying his attention. I have had nothing but problems with this place. My cat has been to two vets in Walnut Creek for ringworm. One vet prescribed medicinal baths with Miconozole shampoo and sulphur lime dip. The first time I called in I explained my entire situation to the receptionist and I was told I could get my cat shampoo'd (medicinal) without a problem and they could get me an appointment right away. When I called back a few days later to make the appointment, someone else answered and said they could not give me an appointment for two weeks, so I gave up and tried shampooing the cat myself. Now my cat's ringworm is back, so I called them again and they said they could not bathe my cat if he hasn't been seen by one of their vets for treatment. My cat has already seen several vets and been prescribed these baths. I should not have to pay one of their vets again in order to get the bath. Or they should have told me that was their policy from the beginning. Thanks anyway. read more

Unlike the other reviewers, I had a horrible experience. I spoke to Diana about boarding my 2 cats for just a day. Great, $20 per day per cat. When we talked shots and such, she made an appointment to update the shots. No other fees were mentioned by Diana. We figured about $70 more, so okay. My husband takes the cats in to the Vet and asks about the boarding fee. Again, no one discusses the fees or what was going to happen. I go to pick them up the following day and get hit with a bill for $262! Diana insists she told me that there was to be an exam (even if I as the customer were mistaken, she was adamant and argumentative). They brought out the wrong cat, then took forever to bring out my cats. My cats were tramautized when they went in, which never happens at Pleasanton Animal Hospital. I'd rather leave them with a neighbor than take them here again. read more

Ok I am not a crazy cat lady but.... I had my siamese cat for 19 years (she lived 16 years in my closet - cuz she was a scaredy cat) she decided to come out of the closet (pun intended) and live 3 years telling the family all about it. This cat drove us crazy - we had 2 noise cancelation machines and a fan going in our room at night cuz she would not shut up! One morning she stopped eating - i called my vet and she said that i could not be with her while they put her to sleep. I did not like that option so i yelped vets and found this place. I called at 10am - they said i could bring her in at 11am. Words can not describe how caring and wonderful the vet and staff is here. They made an impression of her paw (no charge) and let me stay with her - it was a very hard time and they did everything to make it go smoothly. I even got a card in the mail 1 week later from the vet. If i ever get a cat again - i will only take it here! read more

All I can say is that, I concur wholeheartedly. This place is very, very professional, and competent almost to a fault. Plus, everyone there is very friendly. A bit pricey once in a while, but you definitely get what you are paying for. One of the things I will miss most in Pleasanton is FMC. Excellent staff and vet care. I brought my cat in suspecting she had high blood pressure and Dr. Wallace was very helpful and knowledgeable. My cat did have high blood pressure and was prescribed medication that was very helpful (my cat also has kidney disease). There was a noticeable difference in her behavior within 24 hours of taking the medication. The staff was very friendly and the whole experience was great! read more

If there is one thing I feel very strongly and passionate about it's my cats and providing them the best care I can, and part of that is having a vet that I can put 110% of my faith into. I've had bad experiences in the past with vets, and I find that many of them are mainly in it for the money and not for the proper care of the animals themselves. This is completely not the case with Feline Medical Center and I feel so blessed to have found them and developed such a good and trusting relationship with them. I have been taking my cats to see Dr. Marshall for 1.5 years now, it's crazy to think it has already been that long because some days it feels just like yesterday when we were working up to a proper dosage of Methimozole for my old man kitty, Scruff, to treat his hyperthyroidism. Scruff was the first of my 6 cats I took in to see Dr. Marshall, he was a stray I rescued from the streets in very very poor health and deathly thin. I slowly nursed him back to a healthier weight and when he reached a plateau and I realized he wasn't improving any further I found Feline Medical Center and took him in to see Dr. Marshall. She has been extremely thorough, compassionate, and honest along the whole journey of diagnosing and treating Scruff for hyperthyroidism and any other other health issues along the way. Scruff is guessed to be around 15 or so years old and is quite tempermental but Dr. Marshall and her staff are absolutely wonderful with him and know how to handle him with ease so as not to upset him any further and make his visits as comfortable as possible. Dr. Marshall has since seen 3 of my other cats, and Dr. Connolly spayed my now 6 month old kitten when Dr. Marshall was out and everything went perfectly smooth. It takes a lot for me to say that I put even 90% of my trust in a vet, so for me to say I put 110% of my trust in Feline Medical Center is a huge deal and shows just how strongly I feel about the kind of care and knowledge that they have. The facility is very clean, I've even seen into one of their back rooms which was also very very clean, and the reception area is inviting with loads of kitty lover knick knacks to look at for purchase towards a good cause. The vet techs are also top notch unlike many other vet techs I have come across, these techs are excellent with the cats and you can tell they love their jobs and the kittys they help treat. This is also the type of vet that won't do unneccesary treatments and will never do a treatment they aren't fully comfortable doing. I absolutely adore Dr. Marshall and her staff, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I also want to give special recognition to Nicole at the front desk as she is always so wonderful and helpful to us and goes above and beyond. Thank you thank you thank you Dr. Marshall, Nicole, and the rest of the staff for being so wonderful and giving people like myself a trustworthy and comfortable place to bring our kitty's. read more

We have more than a few cats and all of them were well cared for from the great vets here up until we moved away. Even when we had questions after we had left, the vets took the time to call us back and talk with us despite knowing that they wouldn't be getting any money from us. We love all the vets there, but probably had the most interaction with Dr. Connally, whose love for animals is immediately visible and who is incredibly kind and friendly. As others have said, this is not an inexpensive place, but you certainly get all the options presented to you, and they are very patient and you never ever feel rushed. The front office and vet techs are all great as well, especially Nicole. If you take your cats here, tell them Kriss and Arthur and their feline brood says hello. read more

Love this cat hospital! I previously worked as a vet assistant so I like to think that I know when I'm being suckered into expensive procedures that I don't need. I never felt like this hospital did this. All of the doctors are wonderful and personable. Love Dr. Marshall! She has come to know my two cats very well over the past few years. She was very aware that I was on a tight budget and would always give me choices and a price quote beforehand. If I ever had a quick question or a concern I could always count on the doctors to call back asap. The assistants, technicians, and office staff are so friendly as well. We were looking for a new Vet in Pleasanton to take our cats, and decided to take them here based on the good reviews on Yelp. This place lives up to its reviews. Our initial visit was for grooming and a routine check up. We were sad to find out that one of our cats had a serious problem and needed to be put down. I was glad Dr Bloomberg was our Dr during this time. It's emotional having to put a pet down, and Dr Bloomberg was very understanding, empathetic, and caring during the whole process. It made it seem a little less painful given the service they provided. We also received a card about a week afterwards from the staff with handwritten comments. If you need a high quality Vet for your cat, please take them here, your cat deserves it. read more

I like going to a place with just cats, because my little one are already afraid of the vet, and the dog sounds sends them into hyper fear. They are kind, and knowledgeable about cat problems. If they get stumped they are willing to call other cat experts for other opinions. When we had to wait for an apptemt, my little one was so scared they let us wait in one of the rooms, and gave us a brush, and cat toys to help calm her. Everyone is so sweet from the office staff to both Drs. Yes, it costs a lot, but so does every other vet in this area. To me, they are more than worth it. read more

Love FMC. The doctors go out of their way to communicate w/you. They love my cat and when he boards and they are unable to talk to me in person, Dr. leaves a detailed message or note for me. She is wonderful. The office staff knows my kitty and treats us like family. The prices are a bit steep, but you get what you pay for, outstanding care for your pussycat. I have been coming here since 2005. I have quite a few cats, many with chronic health issues, and Dr. Marshall, Dr. Connally and all the staff have always provided the best possible care. She lets me know when more information won't change the treatment recommendation so I can save money on unnecessary tests. I have changed vets a number of times in my effort to find one that I can trust, and this is the one. I drive an hour in commute traffic to get there since I don't live nearby, but it's totally worth the effort. read more
