For whatever reason, my Jack Russell was raised on a very expensive dog food you can't find in national stores or your big box stores before I got him as a puppy. I live in Kingstowne and this is the closest pet store in the area. The next closest one is the PetsMart located by the Springfield Mall. PetsMart may have some cheaper cat food options, but Felix offers more premier brands of food and toys. They also can order in speciality food. My purebred exotic shorthair is from another country and was raised on Farmina brand food. While they don't carry it on the shelves, Felix is able to order that for me (unlike PetsMart). I love Open Farms as a brand because it's high quality and if you buy 12 bags you get the next one free. That's great if each bag is around $100. My cats like the Churu treats. Always clean and all the items are always stocked up properly and the sales associates are kind. The owners, Steve and Diana, are wonderful people. They care about their customers and offer up only the best advice for our pooches. We order our dogs' raw diet from them. They place the order on a Tuesday, and we can pick up in 2 days. Everyone on staff is very friendly and helpful. There are huge varieties of food, snacks, toys, and dog-centric gifts. This is one of the best local pet shops in the area. The employees are incredibly helpful. Incredible selection of food, health/care items, treats. When I adopted a dog, I went to F & O to get food stuffs to get ready for puppy. One of the owners, a middle-aged woman (sorry I didn't catch her name), she gave me a bag of LOTS of samples of dry and wet food and treats. When it was my dog's birthday, I got another bag of goodies! When I was having issues with my dog being a picky eater, the same woman helped me pick a good kibble that was not too big for my 15 lb dog but something that would be an easy transition from puppy to young adult dog. The one issue (that is not something that can be fixed) is exiting the parking lot. There are lots of shops that are busy (Outback Steakhouse, Chik-fil-A, Taco Bamba, the Veterinary Referral Center/Bush Veterinary Neurological Services/The Oncology Services) and I think the parking lot was not meant for so much traffic. read more

The customer service that my pup and I received was way above any other pet store we've been to. My pup- Gideon received so much love and attention by the sales associates and they were AMAZING. They gave Gideon all of the love and attention that I could ask for while I got some shopping done. Gideon clearly didn't want to leave the store after all the treats and love he received, I had to bribe his way out! I find it hardly necessary to write yet another 5 star review for a business that's already overflowing with them, but I really cannot say enough about how amazing Felix and Oscar is. Read on if you'd like to learn why you should never go anywhere else for pet supply needs. On my first visit, I was greeted promptly upon arrival. Matt, an employee, approached me and introduced himself. I explained that one of my cats had recently undergone allergy testing and I was in search of a specific brand of food that he could eat safely. Matt knew exactly the food I was looking for, showed me where to find it (even had different flavors), and even pointed out some other possible hypoallergenic food brands from the list I presented that they had in stock. Now that's all great, but that's just stuff you'd expect from any respectable business, right? What really set F&O apart from other pet supply stores was the intimacy and attentiveness to each customers specific needs. During my first visit, I witnessed employees greet other customers by name, ask about how their pets were doing, and preemptively get their food/supplies ready. Remembering regular customers by name is impressive - remembering their pets names and special diets is phenomenal. By my second or third visit, I had already become a familiar face. Two employees in particular, Matt and Woody, always make me feel exceptionally well cared for: *They remember me and my cat's names. Always ask about how my cats are doing at every visit *I've told them about my cats personalities and gotten toy/accessory recommendations based on them. *I've mentioned that I do some amateur animal photography, and both of them are interested in seeing how my work is coming along. There is no better pet store in the area and totally worth the trip. The staff is very knowledgeable in many different ways. When Lexi got diagnosed with heart disease, they first suggested Lyfe Spyc which helped. The raw food I get, they told me was not completely balanced so they recommended supplements. When I hurt my knee the offered to get her food, ring it up and bring it out to my car so I didn't have to get out and walk.. The customer service is OUTSTANDING! We stopped by here after dinner, as I saw this place out of the corner of my eye - I had to stop by to see if there was anything I could get for my sweet pup! When we walked in, I was pretty amazed in how big this store was and how brightly lit it was in this store. They carry bowls, dishes, holiday wear, collars/leashes, toys, an extensive food line as well as treats. I was ecstatic to find the duck feet (which I purchased for over $10 for 5 pieces at a pet boutique), but here, they were 10 for $3.99!!! All-natural, made in the USA - I loved that they carry an extensive line of natural, USA-made, non-China treats. Prices are comparable to any independently-run stores, but you'd be surprised in finding an array of things for your furry loved ones. Gaby, the sales associate there, answered all my questions; I also loved the store cat, Luna - she was so cute (but, I think I was hovering around her too much). I've been coming to Felix and Oscar's for years! The variety of food and accessories still amazes me! The staff is always helpful, they know their stuff. They have the best variety of Raw food in the area. If you are not sure whether they carry it, then just call or visit and they may be able to get it for you. Often times I go to a big box store, and the staff has no idea what I'm asking for in terms of food and collars. Their store is located in the Outback shopping center and there is always lots of parking! They are not open on Sunday so check their website for hours! read more

I bring my basset hound here after his neurology appointments at the specialty vet hospital next door. This past Friday, I brought my foster, who had cancer and was showing weakness and lack of appetite suddenly. I told the store person there (Diana)that I need really tasty food for a dog that wouldn't eat much, and she brought out all kinds of good stuff, and even offered to bring the food to the car, where my dog was resting. Instead, I brought my dog inside, where Diana tested lots of foods and treats to see what would work. My dog turned down many things, but chose a couple, and we stocked up on those. Diana also walked her around for a while and I could tell she genuinely cared; it wasn't just about making a big sell. She also knew other people and dogs that came in and what they liked. What she gave my dog turned out to be her last meal. I am so grateful to Diana and this store for their kindness and for really caring about their customers. I'm not a regular by any means but they were very generous with samples (like opening and trying out an entire can worth of food for one dog). They may be a little more expensive, but I would pay more any day for the high quality inventory they carry and the customer service. read more

I had a 1.5lb, 6 month old Yorkie. Being my first dog I wanted to find quality food and toys that would keep him healthy. The first time I brought my dog in I was greeted by a super sweet young girl who immediately came over to say hi to me, but mostly my dog and offer up a few treats for him to try. The owner, and fellow ginger, has a Yorkie of her own so she was able to tell me a little bit about what she uses for her dogs and guide me towards some treat and food options that my dogs love and according to my vet has helped keep him in perfect health. I love this place. I have a dog with a pitiful stomach. No beef, no chicken, no lamb, no duck, no buffalo...it sucks. The staff has been so helpful in finding treats and food that work for her digestive system (grain free salmon FTW!) They took the time to help me fit her into a harness this afternoon, after another pet store looked at me cluelessly when I asked if it fit well. My shop lifting pup even managed to snag a beef trachea while I was paying. I was mortified, but the shop owner just laughed and gave it to me for free. Lucy was a happy doggy! read more
