But Mike's business reviews, starting some 6 years earlier, were impressive. Almost all positive, those reviews convinced me to not be discouraged. I let him know I would gladly wait. Besides, I had already met with another "highly rated" Yelp contractor and was feeling rather discouraged. That guy had given me an extremely high bid. His subsequent communications and extreme bartering impressed me to be odd, bordering on unethical and untrustworthy. I knew I had to keep looking. In spite of his schedule, Mike graciously consented to come out see what was going on with my aging drip system the next week. Two weeks later, after I thought he had forgotten me, I received an unsolicited text from Mike with a genuine apology. We met the very next day. It went well. For a full hour, we discussed all my drip system problems. He made many recommendations, but his ideas were realistic and practical. He assured me that, instead of re-doing the entire system, he could take the existing drip lines and repair, replace, and improve, as needed. This meant a significant savings to me, and most importantly, much happier plants. His price quote was far more affordable. Meanwhile, while taking a look around, he noticed that my controller (timer) was misprogrammed. He asked my permission to reset everything so it would be running more efficiently, then took the time to explain everything he did. (I was ecstatic, me being the boob who had naively messed it up in the first place.) He shared some valuable tips on plant care as well. Little things like this convinced me I would be in good hands. December 2025. It was a wait, for sure, but we finally found a day to proceed on this 1-day project. He sent his irrigation specialist, Lazaro, out to my house and Lazaro was a god-send. Very reliable. Very ethical. Very hard-working and agreeable. What a great guy to have on your team. Lazaro completed everything in one day. I decided to add to the scope of work, adding a new controller unit at the same time. Lazaro ran out, bought the piece, installed it, and gave me hands-on training before leaving. And what do you know? The final bill still came to about one 3rd of the other guy's final quote. Could not be happier. An excellent experience in every sense of the word.

We purchased a home in a new development, so we vetted many different companies to build all the features we wanted on an empty canvas (ie: dirt lot). Our budget was around $290-$360k. We got around 6 bids, which we narrowed down to 3. Out of the 3, Jake gave us the most confidence in his knowledge and eye for details. We visited some of his previous projects and were thoroughly impressed. A lot of our neighbors used competitors that were cheaper, but when we saw their completed projects, you could see a lot of corners that were cut and the shoddy quality. Some look down right terrible. The majority were unhappy with the work provided by those companies. The crews were constantly changing on the same projects (subbed out to 3rd party) and there was no post-completion support. I know that there have been lawsuits filed on some of the projects. Our home, on the otherhand, has been the highlight of our neighborhood and we have people constantly taking pictures and asking for details on Jake. Not just because of the design itself, but also because of his hardworking crew. We've been beyond happy with Jake and his team and love showing off our new outdoor space. Echo was at the top end of our budget, but the quality is A+++ and 100% worth it. He didn't cut any corners and his crew pulled 10-12 hour days, 6 days a week, for 10 months. Best thing is that Jake personally checked the quality of the work on a regular basis. If anything was off by a tiny bit, Jake redid it to make it perfect. I consider myself to be detail oriented, almost to the point of being unbearable, but I never had to worry about the work being done because of the QC by Jake. This in itself was worth it. The crew was consistently the same people and HIGHLY skilled. Some of the best work I'd seen. Ricardo was our project lead and so talented and friendly. All the team was very respectful and thoughtful. They cleaned up after every day and never blasted music or talked loudly or cursed. (Which was very important to me because my neighbor and I work from home). They were kind to my wife, kids, and neighbors as well. My parents also hired Echo to fix various issues around their yard and pool and had the same experiences we did with very proficient and highly skilled crew members that worked hard. Also, the small issues we had after completion were addressed immediately. Most contractors rarely come back after you've finished paying them, but Jake really values his clients and takes pride in making sure they're taken care of before, during, and most importantly, after the project is done. There are tons of companies out there, but nobody really does it like Echo and I HIGHLY recommend them. It's worth the investment, not just financially, but also the time and memories you will have enjoying the beautiful space and features.

It could have been from the weather since that spot gets more sunlight, but they still went above and beyond by adding extra sprinklers to make sure everything had full coverage. They finished the work within two days and left the area clean. Their team was super professional, efficient, and clearly cared about their work. The quality is great and our yard still looks amazing almost a year later. None of the concrete has cracked, the retaining wall is solid, and the small wall by the house that protects it from the sprinklers is holding up perfectly. Our patio cover has made it through the rainy season with no issues at all, and the drainage works exactly how it should. Disappointing Communication and Lack of Professionalism…read more ​I reached out to this business based on a recommendation for a project on a property we are currently purchasing. Despite Yelp's "10-minute response" claim, I received no reply to my initial quote request. ​When I called the following day, the experience did not improve. The representative I spoke with seemed disinterested and lacked basic industry knowledge, specifically struggling to differentiate between a California room and a sunroom. Despite asking for extensive details about the project, they declined to meet during our inspection window and failed to follow up afterward as promised. ​If a company isn't interested in a project, I'd prefer transparency over unfulfilled promises to follow up. We have since taken our business elsewhere.
