I'm local to Mountain View, so I 100% support small and local businesses that keep the Bay Area unique. Nothing against franchises, but I love that they have super good quality and unique options here at Tea Annie. The Tea Quality here is excellent and rivals Chicha San Chen. Not to overhype anything, but I'm a tea connoisseur having tried so many different types in Taiwan and China. My go-to is the White Grape Oolong, They have a lot of the tea leaves on display on the front. The kiosk ordering is also convenient. The staff really knows their stuff and there are some seats, so it's a nice ambience overall. It's a friendly neighborhood tea shop. It's one of the only tea shops in this area, so that is a plus for them. Parking is a breeze in the Safeway parking lot. read more

They also have automated touch screen order screens for minimal interaction and opportunity for you to customize your choices. This place is very closed to St Francis HS. Usually, when I need to pick up my kids I would swing by to get some and another to go for my student. Service is a mix, sometimes, when they are busy they even forgot to call your name when your order was ready, so the drink sat sweating on the counter. Got a buckwheat green tea with boba and okinawa matcha with salted crema and both were good. The boba was nice and soft for the buckwheat tea. The salted crema was a little more salty than I would have liked. But overall, everything was good and would like to come back soon! read more

Walking around and was feeling a bit sleepy. I was actually headed toward a Starbucks nearby but stumbled upon Tea Annie. Milk tea sounded more appealing so came for a visit. I got my usual - Earl Grey Milk Tea. I was asked if I wanted toppings (no thanks) and sugar level (50% please) but not promoted about ice level. I asked for no ice and the staff informed me they charge 50¢ for no ice. I had to ask him to repeat to make sure I heard correctly. Yup. I would have to pay more to have them not add something. I suppose I was looking a bit dumbfounded because he then gave me a tip that getting "less ice" would not incur a charge. Less ice it is! The tea itself was good. I get the flavor of the Earl Grey and the 50% sweetness was nice. I might go down even a bit more next time. read more

Tea Annie used to be my favorite boba place in the area. I liked that they had a couple decaf tea options and it is so close by. Today I ordered my usual decal earl grey milk tea with boba and almond milk, it is watery and way sweeter than usual. When I asked the owner and staff about it, they told me it was because I paid extra for almond milk. Almond milk naturally tastes like water is what they said (what?!?) When I asked to exchange it, they said rudely "if you want but it is going to take a while" and went on to repeat it was me choosing the almond milk and that's why it tastes like water! I ended up just left without an exchange. With so many good tea places in the area and $8 for a cup of boba now, I will not be coming back. They just lost a loyal customer. read more

Excellent Taiwanese owner tea shop with some pretty delicious snacks. Usually crepes have a very soft texture to them. In this case, true to the Taiwanese version the crepes have a crunchy texture, packed with delicious items. The strawberry and chocolate one is solid with a giant portion. Teas are quite good as well, with the classic boba being my favorite. Seating indoors are limited but good. They also sell some traditional Taiwanese baked goods. Definitely try this low key spot out! read more

Ordered a grapefruit slushie and this place instantly went on my top boba shop list. I had ZERO expectations for this place, and usually when I order a slushie, it's mostly ice chunks with syrup flavor or just juice. Tea Annie did an amazing job blending the ice and the grapefruit; it was almost like the same soft, smooth, blended texture of a Korean shaved ice (made well)! I was so pleasantly surprised from the first sip that drinking the grapefruit slushie literally made me happy! Ratio of ice to grapefruit is amazing--flavor and texture were consistent from first to last sip (even after melting a little!) Tea Annie closes early at 6 PM every day, they are hidden off to the side of a big shopping plaza. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot. They have a pretty big menu with many drinks to choose from and they have a good amount of food/snacks as well. I received my drink fairly quickly as well. I opted for my usual - the jasmine milk tea. The milk tea was very sweet even at half sweetness. I like that it was on the creamier side and that they were generous with the boba. Boba is on harder side but not too hard middle is super chewy. Overall, I would say it is a 3 - 3.5 stars. read more

They were out of mango hearts so I got lychee jelly instead. The tea flavor was good and the drink was refreshing. They were skimpy with the ice so I plan to ask for extra ice next time. They have the card reader setup at a table at the door, and the staff stays inside (pretty far away) to take your order (so you might have to yell a bit), so good job on covid precautions. You'll pick up your order from the other door (on the side). Good amount of tea choices, though nothing stood out to me. I ordered an osmanthus oolong milk tea and a rose iron goddess milk tea, both with boba. The tea was refreshing (given it was a hot day), but the tea flavor itself was pretty weak in my standards. The boba was also way too soft. So, it's an okay boba place but there are definitely better options in the area. They also told me they could not do the drinks without ice, only less ice, which is a bummer, most boba shops I go to can make this adjustment without a problem. read more

I've come here a couple times now. I'm always intrigued by their very extensive menu, but always a bit disappointed by my drinks. I like that they have all the teas out in little boxes so you can smell them to decide what base you want. They generally have samples out, which taste really good, but I think are heavily heavily sweetened since the same drinks ordered with less sweetness taste very watered down and lack tea/milk flavor. I also like that they have decaf green/black teas, since sometimes I just want a milk tea late at night without the caffeine! You can get any tea as a potted tea which is fun (crema topping and oreo crusting). Since I got my tea unsweetened, again it was pretty flavorless milk tea. I've had much better potted teas elsewhere where it tastes more like a oreo milkshake (Love the one at Liang's Kitchen in Cupertino). read more

Tea Annie is one of the only tea places in this part of Mountain View that offers crepes and other small desserts to go with their teas. It seems they may have made good from my last review. Crepes are being offered and their tea is consistently tasty, sweetness can be adjusted. Their kitchen is clean and organized. This place is usually my go to Tea place when I work in Mountain View. For starters they open earlier than all the tea places and if I have to take an early lunch or brunch this is the only one witching a 3 mile radius that is open. They do not make their boba until a bit later. I usually get the goddess tea half ice and half sweet but at times when they samples, which is very dangerous for me I get one or two, yes I have been known to buy 3 drinks for myself from here. It's a long drive back to Monterey, don't judge. I have not tried any of their snacks but they look delicious. Their restroom seem to be always out of order but I did see someone with a key go in it, so maybe only for employees? Until another tea store opens early this my go to to get my morning tea fix. Tried this tea place today...seems bit new not sure how old but was excited to see they had crepes and outlets/wifi :) + not bad for working..music can be a little distracting though + was relatively quiet and empty when I came + lots of tea and crepe flavor options + 3 outlets which is not bad for a place this size + cute aesthetic (their logo) and the blue walls! + can adjust sweetness (earl grey was pretty good w regular sweetness - still sweet) + that $2.50 tea deal though!!!!!! COME AFTER 6 PM FOR THE DEAL OR CHK YELP TO UNLOCK - got the strawberry nutella crepe..not a traditional soft crepe, very papery and crunchy! also didn't like how the strawberries were all at the bottom and cream on top. The overall packaging/presentation made it hard to eat and enjoy both strawberry whipped cream and nutella together. Maybe they should consider just having it flat on a plate? I ordered a Fruit Tea with Fruit Bits and a Chicken Crepe. The cashier didn't ask if I wanted a sweetness adjustment so I'm not sure if they do it! The drink was okay. Refreshing but a little on the sweet/syrupy side. The fruit bits were cut really big so it couldn't fit through the straw (unless we're supposed to open the sealed cap and eat it with a spoon?). The crepe was also okay. The crepe part didn't have much flavor and was a hard to eat (the crumbs sort of fall everywhere when you bite into it). Inside there is shredded boiled chicken, corn, shredded cabbage, a lot of pepper, mayo and half a strip of bacon. I stumbled upon Tea Annie because I keep forgetting Tea Era is closed on Tuesdays. I had low expectations, based on pictures, I assumed it was another Quickly/Lollicup/Verde variant. I loved my black cream milk tea - on par with ShareTea! And also, the grass jelly tasted really fresh (unlike T4), and the white boba was pretty sweet, but good. I ordered it "less than 25%" sweet and it was still pretty sweet. It was good, but I might even go 0% sweet next time since the crema is pre-sweetened.
