Overflowing grapefruit was awesome, refreshing. We had the tiramisu and matcha love desserts, both were amazing

    Oolong Milk Tea

I stopped by on a weekend to get some studying done with a friend. It wasn't too busy so it was a productive session. I got the oolong milk tea which was delicious. There's some seating and the area is clean.

I was nearby the area for lunch and came across this boba shop. I'm usually skeptical of any place that offers strawberry matcha lattes since most of the time it doesn't taste good. But I am happy to report that Feng Cha got it right. I think it's one of the better strawberry matcha lattes I've had in awhile.... If it had just a tad more strawberry flavor it would've been absolutely perfect. I will definitely be back when I have a strawberry matcha latte craving.

Feng Cha has become one of my go-to boba spots, and I'm glad that this new location in Mountain View opened up. To start with, the Cookies & Cream Milk Tea is one of my favorite drinks from any bubble tea shop. The tea, foam, and Oreo come together so well. I also like the boba, as it has good texture and the right amount of flavor. I'm not a usual fruit tea drinker, but the Summer Melon's blend of oolong tea, watermelon, and lemon juice was very refreshing after a hot day. Feng Cha also has fun seasonals, and unlike other chains they are not afraid of chocolate! In the fall I enjoyed the Dirty Chai's blend of chai and milk; in the cold months, the Tea Cocoa and Pretzel Cocoa are appreciated twists on the standard hot cocoa. A note on sugar: the drinks seem to lean on the sweeter side, so while I can tolerate 75-100%, most people might prefer 50% or less. Other than the drinks, I like the clean but still natural aesthetic of the store, and the service is pretty smooth. I've also noticed the prices seem a bit lower than the competition, which is impressive given the quality.

Surprised at how much more yellow the oolong is in comparison to the green tea. My drink was okay, even at 50% I found it bery sweet. The sweetness reminds me of the tea at those high tea parlors (my experience Lisa's tea) which is pretty unique. Thought I'd give feng cha a chance since it is fairly new to the plaza. I ordered it right as they opened so I'm satisfied with the timeliness :) inside is clean and there were plenty of tables for sitting and hanging out

Located in a busy plaza- parking can be hard sometimes in the evening. They have a self serve kiosk to order drinks. Usually not busy and they make the drinks pretty quick. I always tell myself I'm going to try something new but Ive only had the kiwi basil drink as it's super refreshing- would like to try other items on the menu in the future!

3.5 Stars Feng Cha recently opened in Mountain View and is currently having their soft opening from 8/1-8/16 where they're offering 20% off on all orders. Feng Cha originated from China and has now over 1000 stores around the world. While they have standard milk tea drinks, they're more known for their various foam top flavors (e.g. matcha, tiramisu, taro, etc.) that can be added to any drink. While not bad, I wouldn't say the drinks are super amazing so the discount is definitely nice. Their grand opening will be from 8/17-8/18 where they'll be offering BOGO all weekend. ORDER: |-| Jasmine Green Tea with Matcha Foam - A light jasmine green tea, not overpoweringly floral. Paired nicely with the matcha foam but matcha flavor was very light. |-| Oolong Dark Roasted Milk Tea with Boba - Tea tea flavor was surprisingly light even though it was supposed to be dark roasted.

Jasmine Green Milk Tea (Fresh Milk) w/Boba

A perfectly balanced, floral Jasmine tea with real milk (and oat milk or creamer) options paired with chewy, spot-on texture boba. What more could you ask for? We highly recommend the Jasmine Green Milk Tea with real milk (lactose free) at 50% sweet with boba. We're always on the hunt for a solid new boba shop our signs of a good drink include: A balance of tea flavor that comes though without any artificial tastes, chewy boba that isn't too soft or too overly sweetened with brown sugar, and enough ice to make the drink COLD and refreshing. The first sip of Feng Cha's tea met all of those! We were really surprised to stumble to into their soft opening this week while we were in this busy Mountain View plaza after seeing their banner up! Interior is modern and clean with a white and green aesthetic with a good amount of seating. Menu has standard milk and fruit teas with a nice touch that you can make any of their fruit teas non caffeinated with a sparking water base sub. They have a current promotion for 20% off during their soft opening and their grand opening is this weekend (8/17/2024) with the first 50 drinks free and the rest are BOGO - which is great deal. Service was also kind and friendly, they explained parts of their menu and offered helpful recommendations. Only (very) minor nit picks would be to note any of the "Pure Teas" can be made into a milk tea and fall under the "Classic" Milk Tea option - which was slightly confusing to me but not a huge deal. I wish they gave just a tad more boba since it was honestly so deliciously chewy that I ended up finishing it all before my tea but maybe that's just me . Excited to have a new place to write to friends about - we'll definitely be back to try more of their drinks!

This boba place just opened by my gym. I decided to try the soft opening. I ordered the bursting dragonfruit with 25% sweet, salted crème foam, and crystal boba. Delicious and refreshing! It has bits of dragonfruit in the drink. I also like the different options for foam and will try others. Soft opening discount is also great to try the place! Will definitely come back and try other drinks.

Stopped by during their grand opening BOGO special late afternoon. It probably took about 30 mins total from waiting in line to getting our drinks. I'm a big fan of their drinks and everything was great. I'm happy to see that they have a new Mango Fantasy drink. It's now one of my favorites! My only complaint was that the pomelo was a bit sour and seemed frozen.

I came back again for their Creme Brulee Dirty Boba milk tea! Omg still so good and the boba balls are just amazingly good! Can't wait for their official grand opening next weekend!

I love desserts and the French are number one in that category. I came from Yutori after buying so much that I squeezed in Madison's dessert, Padova Mandarin Yuzu. The clerk said it needs to refrigerate promptly or else eat right away. I had no choice but to stop by the library's park and eat that along with my tuna egg sando from Yutori. The Yuzu dessert was cool and refreshing. It's good to pair with tea. I'll have to come back and try more desserts. They all look so good to try.

Some of them don't even go to any other bakery besides this one and as such, I was excited to try their pastries. I got a combination of both basic items such as their croissant and their more decorative items such as their Paris Brest. The fundamental difference between American pastries and their French counterparts is that the latter are much less heavy and sweet and in that sense, Maison Alyzee does a good job. However, that quality really isn't that important to me unless I'm making baked goods at home or having them at a friend's. When it comes to a bakery, I care more about nuanced flavors, tastes, and textures and in those aspects, this place didn't really blow me away. To put it this way, I would rather travel to Midwife and the Baker and have one of their croissants at a cheaper price even if it may be more of a sugar bomb. I was actually contemplating knocking off another star because of how much the pastries cost an arm and a leg (almost $10+ for some of the individual items). In the end, I decided against it because this bakery is the first I've visited where the pastries both look nice AND taste good (Paris Baguette and Alexander's Patisserie, take note). Overall, this place is good if you are looking for pastries that both look and taste nice. Perhaps my palate is just not sophisticated enough but I just don't get any unique taste that warrants them being the most authentic French patisserie in the area. Personally, I would visit Midwife, Craftsman, and (soon) Arsicault in Palo Alto to get a more "quality' pastry.

My family and I stopped by Marvel Cake during Mother's Day for a sweet treat on Sunday. This location is in the strip of Downtown Palo Alto and has limited parking (similar to the rest of the stores there, there is a lot of parking, and you will need to get lucky). My mom does like the Marvel Cake in their first location, so we swung by here to try this one out! Location-wise, this is a smaller shop than the original one in West San Jose with limited seating inside. I would say it's not work from home friendly however, I did see a college student next to me on her laptop so maybe I am incorrect here! The interior is nice and light, matching the elegance of the desserts. We ordered three items on the menu: the pillow cake, the bisou, and the blueberry lavender roll. Here are some thoughts: * Pillowcase cake: It may seem like this would be a fluffy cake due to the nature of its shape, but it is a gelatinous Jell-O cake with fruit jam. It was not bad, and tasted refreshing and light. I didn't know if I liked it at first, but ultimately I did come back for seconds and thirds, so this is approved. * Blueberry lavender roll cake: This was not at all what we were expecting. I did not taste any lavender, nor did it have a strong blueberry flavor. I think what threw our party off was the layer of gelatin that surrounded the cake. Texturally, we were not a big fan. * Bisou: This one was our favorite one. I appreciated the nutty crust in the bottom layer of the cake, while the filling was soft and bouncy. It is very sweet, however, but overall, I really enjoyed this one and feel like it would go great with a cup of coffee. What made the experience here a 3 instead of a 4 or 5 was the service we got. We weren't greeted when we came in, which, to be fair, is totally fine, maybe they were busy. However, the person helping us stared at us the whole time and did not really communicate well with us. When I tried to order the cakes for my family, they looked bothered that we were there, and I was not sure if they understood what pastries I was ordering because they did not repeat it back to us at all or confirm anything. When I did place the order, they slowly grabbed the plates and looked visually confused, which again, if they wanted to, I could have repeated it back to them. After they gathered everything, they put it in front of us and rang me up. The whole time, they did not say a word to me at all. Did not reconfirm anything, did not acknowledge we were there, did not say thank you. It was a bit strange, and I had to check with my family if it was me or if that was a really weird experience (it wasn't me).

They offer a variety of drinks, from lattes to milk teas to shakes. Some of my favorites include the Mocha Latte and Ube Milk Tea. The only disappointment was the Mermaid, but I'm not a green tea drinker so maybe it's just not my taste. The drinks lean sweet, so for those who prefer less sugar than me (i.e. most people), you should adjust accordingly. Meanwhile, the desserts are just as diverse and delicious. I enjoyed the Ube Cashew Brownie and Milo Cupcake, but would recommend the Ube Leche Flan Cupcake for your first visit. One trend across their offerings is the use of Filipino flavors like ube, Milo, and sweet corn. It makes them stand out in the crowded cafe & boba market. On the other aspects.. the store itself isn't too big but is well-decorated. There's not much seating so most will just order to-go. The service is usually quick so that's not an issue.
