This is 2 stars instead of 1 because their decor is modern & nicely done. It's a great restaurant to look at, not eat at. This review is specific to their buffet, which is terrible. Their selection is very limited and at best, it's comparable to soggy chinese take out. Given this is a non-authentic chinese restaurant, their food does not even live up to the standard of decent americanized chinese food. Came here for the lunch buffet on a Saturday. Historically I've gone to China Blossom in North Andover for the Chinese buffet, but this place was a bit closer. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either. The offerings felt scant to me, but perhaps that was because it was lunch time. There were a few token "dim sum" items by the head of the buffet, but I use that phrase loosely, as it all tasted like reheated frozen food (and the sizes were pretty tiny). The coconut shrimp was pretty goopy as well, too much sauce for my liking. The best part to me was the tasty Jasmine tea! The interior was cool, it has a chill vibe to it. I'd be willing to come back for a regular meal, or perhaps the expanded dinner buffet. But for now, this just didn't excite me much. read more

I've been here quite a few times now for sushi. Every time I go I leave pretty content. My last visit this week wasn't as good. The sushi tasted like it had been sitting out all day, and the lo mein didn't have much flavor, but I don't find that typical here. It's usually better. They have a few specialty items, and plenty of other options. Being fairly new to the sushi world, I didn't like that their menu only listed the names of the sushi and not what was in it. Turns out, if you just ask for a menu listing the ingredients, they'll grab one for you! Made choosing much easier! Overall, it always looks clean, and the food is usually pretty good, but the service can be a bit on the slow side. I've had to wait for my check more than once after finishing. read more

But first, great complements on their disability access and assistance: DISABILITY RATING 5 STARS I have a service dog, whom the staff are all respectful of. Most nights, I am unable to use a wood back chair, and even when I use a groupon that specifies use at a hibachi table, they permit an exception and seat me in a booth, and are always extremely kind and hospitable.Manager Charlie is the one who has initiated special accommodations for seating and was a pleasure. The wait staff have all been wonderful. The shashimi and shushi are perfection. Completely stocked bar, and the plum wine martini are fantastic for either gender - not run of the mill and not a girlie fancy drink either. The local hibachi in Chelmsford. We have done it all, the dining room downstairs, apps in the lounge, sushi only, and of course hibachi. The food is fresh and very good. The sushi has been very good for me anytime I have had it. The hibachi is a HUGE portion and if you have a great chef and a good group of people is an awesome experience. We had gone for a dinner group to hibachi thinking our later time would mean no to very little wait time. When we arrived we were told it was a 30-45 min wait, no big deal, we got apps and drinks in the lounge. But then we noticed they may have been short staffed as we were the only table seated up in the hibachi area. The waitress we had (her name escapes me) was not the usual caliber of waitress we have had (maybe it was her first night). She forgot drinks and orders and that's the one star deduction. At this restaurant, it means you'll: ...have the "wind" knocked out of you when the waitstaff hands you your check. ...be better off only drinking the "water" b/c your meal will cost so much. ...ok I will stop. I've been to this place about 2-3 times now. First off, the place is really nice. A far cry from the Mamma Mia's joke that was in this building before. The staff is friendly and pretty attentive. I can't help to wonder why we see all these fancy Chinese restaurants popping up that serve the usual Chinese fare at beefed up prices. Feng Shui is decent food...but I can't help thinking I could have saved some dough just getting take out. I ordered their version of a Pupu platter...I forget what it's called, excited to try some new items...however, once half of it was consumed, you were wishing they had a typical pupu platter. Other dishes I've eaten were good...not great...but good. Pricy though. If your loved one loves Chinese Food and it's a date night...sure, come to Feng Shui. The decor is great. Otherwise, get them some take out and have a nice night in. You'll have leftover for the next night and your wallet will probably appreciate that you stayed in. read more

Disclaimer: slightly snobbish when it comes to Asian foods. Atmosphere: Clean, modern, inviting, and busy. Service: Made reservations, but still waited about 15 minutes to be seated at a hibachi table. Hostess made the rookie mistake of under-quoting the estimated wait time (she told us 5 minutes when we arrived). Waitress was slammed, and appeared to be frazzled rather than trying to hustle. Long wait times for water and drink orders. Hibachi chef wasn't the most polished, but his old-man swag made up for his lack of executing the hibachi table tricks. Food: Ordered filet Mignon. Good. But, I felt it was overpriced. Overall: I would have liked this place to leave a stronger feeling to revisit, but partly due to "meh" service and overpriced plates, I won't be rushing back there. The other factor is the simply due to the format. Gotta be invested in the hibachi experience. read more

Delicious Chinese food! So far I've had General Gao's chicken as takeout, and orange chicken, pork-fried rice, kung pao shrimp, and shumai plus spring rolls as an eat-in meal. It was all uniformly good. The shrimp was cooked well, not overdone. I've never had shumai before... they use very thin wonton wrappers, which were excellent, and the stuffing (pork and rice and I don't know what else) was very flavorful. The service at lunch today was polite and unobtrusive, perfect! The servings sizes are *huge*, IMHO, and I will get several more meals out of the remainder of today's lunch. I grew up in the NY area, so I'm used to that style of Chinese food... I've been to a few places (Wah Sang and China Star), and neither of those made me enthusiastic enough to want to return. I've already been to Feng Shui twice, and I'm sure I'll be back. Edit: I just want to mention that at the front of their menu, Feng Shui declares that they _do not_ use trans-fats in cooking their food. This was "shown" like a big Japanese Sushi Bar but turned out to be more like a Chinese Take Out place you can find in every corner! Dine in option at one of the very few tables (probably used more for while waiting your food) to be served with plastic utensils for food in plastic plates (again only a take out place where you can get a fortune cookie). We ordered hot and sour soup (OK) and sushi-sashimi plate. It was $59 dollar I knew from the men's but the portion I got was not worth $59 I paid for it. Thank God, I didn't get sick or anything! Today I went to Feng Shui for the first time. I remember when they used to be an Italian restaurant that I would pass by with little interest. No more! Today we decided to dine there ~2PM after watching a Sunday matinee, and were very pleasantly surprised. The buffet was *awesome*. Truly, the coconut shrimp are probably the second best buffet dish I've tasted in my life. The interior of the place is immaculate, and very subtly and tastefully decorated. Very peaceful and relaxing environment, with very attentive wait staff. We never had to flag anyone down, or ask for refills or more napkins. Our waiter was so observant he took care of everything before we could ask. Some of the food may have been standard buffet fare (the broccoli in the beef & broccoli dish seemed a little over cooked under the lights), but the sushi was FRESH and quite yummy, the wasabi and ginger plentiful, the other buffet options unique and tasteful, the desserts soft, tiny and adorable. I have not seen a better buffet in the Lowell area. The only Asian buffet I'm aware of that might compare in this area is Bamboo, in Westford MA. Even so, I think the quiet environment and service at Feng Shui is superior. The buffet price was $25 for two, but very much worth it. Arrived last night at 6:00 PM and was told the wait would be 20 minutes. Forty-five minutes later they seated us. And we were pretty much sitting and sitting waiting for SERVICE, so we could get a drink. Asked another server to see if a waiter had been assigned to our table...and our drink order was taken. We ordered drinks, appetizers and main course. The first two came relatively soon. My son asked if he could have my drink/soda, because we could not get anyone to refill our drinks. Only half our main course came...when we felt we'd waited long enough for the remainder of our main course (cuz we had devoured the first part of our main course), my husband got up to find help, because nobody was around to flag down. Right about then, the remainder of our meal came. WTF? Food was good, I can't remember having such poor service anywhere in a L-O-N-G time. Very good lunch buffet that features a wide range of Chinese specialties as well as a few sushi rolls. The best part about their lunch buffet is that they offer some alternatives to the standard greasy Chinese food that I am used to getting at Chinese restaurants in New England. They typically have steamed dumplings and Shumai pork as well as some other options that don't make you feel horrible after you've eaten them. If I didn't have Priya in Lowell (I can never get enough Indian food) I would probably go here very often, it's one of the better spots for a quick lunch in the Chelmsford area. read more

I had a group lunch with my colleagues there today. The location is just fine. It is at the entrance or a shopping mall so there were a lot of traffics in the front. The good thing is it wasn't hard to find a parking spot. It was crowded during the Friday lunch time so if you don't have a reservation in advance you may need to wait a little bit. The overall interior design was terrible, even though the decor was fine. Their buffet bar was extremely small and it didn't offer many options. The food was so good . The waitress was so patient (I kept changing my food order) and the atmosphere was pleasant. My son loved his meal too . I would recommend to others. This is probably the best Asian Food in the area. For me, Feng Shui has become a regular weekly food delivery, to the point where I have a steady supply of (chocolate and vanilla) fortune cookies in the house. If you try nothing else here, try the Phoenix Maki, the Snow Mountain Maki, and the Coconut Shrimp. All three are amazing, and the rest of the menu isn't bad either. Be aware that if you order delivery, it sometimes takes an hour to arrive, but the food is well worth the wait. read more

This inviting palpable restaurant is one to enjoy especially if you are coming from a large party. The buffet is somewhat a savory delight because of the price and the selectable entrees. Although I wasn't able to acquire the buffet during lunch hours, I was never given the chance to try such a frugal pleasure. The atmosphere was casual and very antiquated. Although I was disappointed by the color of the room as such was a dreadful look to reminisce myself in. I kept my eyes directly on the television since it was the only thing amusing besides browsing on my phone. Feng Shui is a place for people looking for a quick eat and palatable meal they would enjoy without the extragavant decor and elaborate presentations. I wasn't disappointed at first but the place could have chosen a more suitable ambience of furnishings. As for the food, it was what you would expect from a chinese buffet/japanese sushi bar. They would combine the two asian cuisines into unfortunate courses of entrees which is contradictory to what they are called. More importantly, like many so called japanese restaurants, their sushi chefs are definitely not trained. I wouldn't recommend ordering the sushi. Not worth it. Dinner buffet was decent but if you do the buffet because of sushi, you'd be highly disappointed. Very limited choices or maybe it was because they didn't bother to put any sushi. I had to ask my server if they were going to prepare and put our more sushi since there was nothing left at the buffet station. When they finally added a plate, the salmon sushi was served warm. First, I'm really surprised by how many people think this place is attractive. It's attractive in the same way a McMansion is attractive - that is, it's big and cheap looking. The food is mediocre at best and extremely bland. The most outstanding flavor is salt. Just kind of a fried rice and Egg Foo Yung kind of Chinese restaurant, but more expensive. Really - they have Egg Foo Yung! I thought that went out in the 60s - along with pink-dyed pork. Upstairs they apparently have one of those stupid "Japanese" hibachi "shows." Loved the atmosphere....beautifully decorated and food was good. I love that they give you a lot of veggies with your plate. There were 6 of us and we all had hibachi. No complaints in food...the service however needs improvement. We sat and sat waiting for our meal to begin. Then when we were done eating we waited 20 mns before I flagged down another waitress to bring our check. Then waited 10 mns for our waitress to take our payment - then she messed up how we wanted to split the bill. No apologies either!! Came here 4 times already for lunch buffet with my colleagues as I work near by. The common feedback from the Chinese colleagues are it pretty good. I think the lunch buffet is A-OK. They offer some sushi which are pretty decent for the $11 buffet. There are about 4 types of cold dishes, 8 types of sushi, 14-16 types of hot dishes, 4 types of fruits, and all you can eat green tea ice cream :) For lunch, come at 11:30 to beat the buffet line around 12. read more

Just my first impression, so I will reserve for future visits...I'm giving it 3, just to be "safe"... Two things struck me here, first, the place is high end in look, what's happening in the new chinese restaurant business, seems like every new chinese place has to build out the "hey, we're mod, we're hip" look. It's nice that it's clean, but, I sorta kinda miss that really tacky, really RED LACQUER look of the old world chinese places....and yea, cuz you're a chinese restaurant, does that mean you have sushi? hibachi? Went there with my wife (w/ a groupon). Let me state first: I am a big fan of their lunch buffet (which I have attended several times). But I need to rate the over all experience(include my visit last Friday). Overall the service is very good but our trip a few days ago was not. We went to the Hibachi grill (upstairs) using our Groupon. The waitress was either too busy on not focus on our table (there were larger tables). It also too use a long time (20 plus minutes after the soup and salad) before we had a chef at our grill table. The quality of the food was very good. The portions was just, ok. The prices were fair and the drinks was average priced as well. One negative is I ordered a beer and my wife *had* to ask the server to provide a glass. The Sushi was just ok. I have had better and if you have a Sushi palate, I would suggest passing. I don't know if it was just a bad night but I would not *strongly* recommend going back to the Hibachi grill.
