industrial pierced way lower than standard placement

not sure where to start.. i came here with my roommate a few days ago looking to get our ears pierced. from the start, he gave us a big run down on his qualifications because of his many degrees in the science field, going pre-med track, being pilot certified (not sure how this is relevant), etc. he talked about how there is a lot of misinformation in the piercing field and that all i had to do was soak my piercing in a saline wash for ~10 seconds every day and apply ointment if dry. he was talking down on a lot of other businesses and kept talking about how all the other piercers have an "8th grade education," making him the most qualified piercer in WA. he also said that if i have any problems with my piercing i should come talk to him first and only him because all the other piercers "suck". he also mentioned that a new piercing could be healed within 1-2 weeks because recovery from surgeries in hospitals take a short time- and therefore it doesn't make sense for a piercing to take longer. i was obviously skeptical about this. anyways he went through with the piercing (industrial), marked my ears with sharpie, and pierced my ear without giving me a chance to check placement in the ear. and then when i was paying, he almost overcharged me nearly 40 dollars before i caught on that the price didn't add up. i followed his aftercare instructions, but my ear was extremely swollen, with heat radiating throughout my ear. it was extremely painful so i ended up going to the nearest piercing parlor near my residence. the piercer there gasped when he saw my piercing and told me the placement was completely botched. he also said that if i had come any longer, the rod of the piercing would've ended up digging through my skin. i got it removed and immediately felt relief. i felt wronged for having paid for a badly placed piercing so i called this parlor. they said they would call me back but never did, so i had to call again. when i did, the owner who pierced me was extremely harsh and rude. he started testing me on his aftercare instructions as if i was the one who messed up. he told me i was in the wrong for getting it removed and that i should've immediately went to him, because again, "all the other piecers are incompetent with an 8th grade education." he then started talking again about how he is the most qualified. i told him what the other piercer told me, and he laughed and started insulting their business and my "naivety" for believing in a unqualified business over his words. he also mentioned that there is no such thing as having the "wrong anatomy" for a piercing which is concerning. currently, my roommate is also having issues with her piercings, and had to go to urgent care. i just feel extremely hurt and shocked because of how unprofessional and harsh he was over call. please don't bother

I've gotten 9 of my 13 tattoos at Finix Tattoo (all as walk-ins), and I can honestly say this shop has never disappointed me. The owner, Tye, is always a great guy to talk to--friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely accommodating with timing. I've even overheard him giving advice about piercings, and his depth of knowledge is impressive. This time, my artist was Jamie, and she was absolutely incredible. What started as a simple walk-in turned into one of my favorite tattoo experiences. She took her time, paid attention to every detail, and delivered a piece that went above and beyond my expectations. For me, the most important thing isn't just the final product--it's the experience. Jamie made me feel completely comfortable and welcome from the start. I can be a bit of a baby when it comes to pain, but she was calm, patient, nonjudgmental, and respectful the entire time. Not only did she create a stunning tattoo, but she made me feel like I was hanging out with a friend. Thank you, Jamie! I'll definitely be back for my next piece.

Thank you Ty for designing this beautiful floral piece! After two sessions, I'm in love! Highly recommend Ty for your next tattoo. His experience and talent speaks for itself.

Walked in for an unscheduled tattoo and the team there was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and offered great suggestions to make the tattoos even better than we expected. The tattoos were a great price and I would definitely come back!

Don't waste your money here! My friends and I went in and wanted a small tattoo and some piercings. One friend was tattooed by Rico and you can see by the picture that it is terrible quality for such a simple tattoo. Two of us got regular lobe piercings and the earring posts were way too short. Both of us had to go somewhere else to buy new earrings two days later. At the new place they said if we had come in a few days later we would have had to go to the doctor to get the earrings removed. The man at Fenix went on and on about his qualifications and the quality of the jewelry - at deep roots they said the kind of earrings they used were illegal in some states because they can damage the ear. Pretty much everything the man at Fenix said about piercings was wrong and I ended up taking both piercings out because they got infected. This place is cheap and the quality is incredibly low.

Do you see the vibrant Yellow that he put Over the Black center of the flower? He said it would show when it healed. Wt#?

The 3-star is because of the cold front desk service (around 5 on 7/10). The person behind the desk wasn't too interested in helping me when I was trying to select my earrings, and he even made snarky comments when I was expressing my opinion to a friend while trying to pick which color. I was excited to finally get my ears pierced, and I was quite disappointed to be met with indifference. In fact, I felt a bit rushed in picking the jewelry so that our interaction would end. It didn't ruin my entire experience since the other employees were professional and friendly, but it was mildly infuriating. I would still recommend coming here, since the piercing itself was efficient.

I am beyond furious with the way Pierced Hearts handled my sister's navel piercing. From the start,…read morethis experience has been a disaster due to sheer negligence and a complete lack of accountability. My sister clearly explained to the piercer, Jaime, that she has a very flat belly button and specifically asked if the standard navel jewelry would be appropriate. He confidently said yes -- and we trusted his professional judgment. That trust was completely misplaced. As time passed, the jewelry began to embed itself into her skin, which should never have happened with the right jewelry in the first place. We returned to the shop, and Adam helped change it to a floating navel piercing -- the type she should have received from day one. He apologized and even took a photo of the damage because it was obvious something had gone terribly wrong. But the damage had already been done. Within a week, she developed a severe infection -- one that urgent care later confirmed was likely due to the original jewelry creating a gaping wound that never healed properly. Despite following aftercare instructions to the letter, she ended up on two antibiotics and hydrocodone just to manage the pain. Yet when we returned to the shop a third time to request a refund and share what she was going through, the staff were incredibly dismissive and refused to take any responsibility. They immediately shifted blame, accusing her of neglecting aftercare, even though we were meticulous. No effort was made to offer a solution, express genuine concern, or show even the slightest empathy. Just said "well, do you want to get it pierced again?!" ... no! Her belly button area now is completely bruised and mangled because of this place. We will never be coming back here again. To make matters worse, the owner was outright disrespectful and condescending over the phone. When we told him that medical professionals advised removing the piercing and draining the infection, her arrogant response was, "Why would they do that?!" as if she knew better than actual doctors. That tone alone spoke volumes about how little they care once they have your money. We asked for a refund because of all the trouble we've been through after the negligence of the first piercer, now having to pay for urgent care visits and medication. I chose this shop based on their glowing reviews, but let me be clear: if you're considering any body piercing here, don't. They might be decent with ear piercings or tattoos -- but when it comes to body piercings, especially anything more complex, they are careless, unprofessional, and utterly unwilling to take accountability when something goes wrong. My sister went in for a simple piercing and walked away in physical pain and emotional distress, and not once did they offer real help, only excuses. This shop failed her. Completely.

During that time I've never actually written a review before, but my recent sessions with Tim Bradley (aka Mean Ole Tim) at the Wallingford location deserve one. Tim has been an absolute standout. He's not just a skilled tattooer -- he's an artist and professional in the truest sense. His ability to translate an idea into something that feels both deeply personal and beautifully cohesive is unreal. He recently completed a full torso panel of my German shepherd, Stryder, in an Irezumi-inspired style, as well as two custom hand pieces -- and every step of the process was collaborative, thoughtful, and executed with precision. What I appreciate most is Tim's mix of humility, humor, and quiet confidence. He listens, gives honest feedback, and works with a level of care that shows in every line and aspect of the piece. The end result isn't just cool ink -- it's art that carries weight, intention, and soul. After nearly a decade with STTN, I can say this has been one of my best experiences yet. If you're looking for someone who genuinely gives a damn about both the craft and the client, Tim's your guy.

They printed out a few I liked and we three discussed pros and cons of size and placement. Ying, myself, and Connor the tattoo artist. I embarrassingly had to reschedule a couple sessions and arrived late for my first one (100% my fault) and they established with great kindness a boundary around time while giving me the full time of tattooing. They could have charged me the hour I was late (bad communication on my part) they did not. Now don't take that as permission to do what I did cause you might (and should) be charged, but I share this to show how friendly, understanding, and at the same time professional they are. Took two sessions a total of 7 1/2 hrs I think. Second session I was on time ;) Connor starts a stop watch when he begins and shows you. That's when the charging begins , and stops the stop watch immediately when he's done , and shows you as well. I thought that was very cool of him and all ships should do that.
