We hired them for a new outdoor deck electrical installation. After then initial visit, we had to call them back because the power cut out. The electrician then informed us that the outdoor GFCI outlet needed to be replaced with a weatherproof unit. However they charged us ADDITIONAL two full hours of labor even though the REVISIT lasted no more than 15 minutes. To make matters worse, the issue still has NOT been properly resolved. The outdoor outlet continues to malfunction, and we are now left unsure whether the work was done correctly at all.

I signed up for the annual maintenance plan to save money. He made good recommendations based on my needs and concerns of my allergies. Much appreciated! 2026 update - our heat pump stopped working and needed replacement parts. I paid for them to send a tech to diagnose it and they followed through with the work which is under the 10-year warranty. Tech, Hagen was very nice and professional and made sure to answer all of my questions. Kudos to the office staff, Brittny, Erin and everyone who took my calls while I was eagerly waiting for parts & repair. They treated me very kindly and proactively communicated each step of the way. I hope that this fix lasts a long time, or at least until we upgrade to a newer, more environmentally friendly unit.

Because the cost was likely to be high, I emailed Daniel to ask for the range of the cost. He then offered to come to my house to give me a free estimate. If you have ever called any electricians, you should know most electricians bill based on trip charge (basic fee) plus labor time and material. Even they do nothing, they still charge for just showing up at the door. I was very happy that Daniel was willing to come out to give me a free estimate. This just makes him distinguishable from other electricians. He gave me a very detailed estimate. The price was reasonable, so I accepted it. Later I told him that I might need to replace an indoor outlet as it's loose. He offered to do it for free! What a wonderful customer service! Moses was the one who actually showed up to do the work. He's very polite and friendly. He explained to me his work. He was very patient with me when I didn't understand his explanation. He was great to work with. He also cleaned up after his work. His work showed a very good quality. I would highly recommend Strands Electric. Of course, whenever I need someone to do some electrical work, I will call Strands Electric.

In every situation, the entire staff from beginning to end has been excellent. Based on my experience, here is what to expect when you reach out to Dickson (all names mentioned are just a few excellent folks worth shouting out about that have helped me)... Kaylee will assist you on coordinating a time for George to come by to provide you with a free estimate. Within a few days, he will follow up with you on a detailed estimate. Unlike other electricians out there, this won't be someone with an iPad in their hand quoting from some franchised app that is 3x what it should be. In every situation, the prices given were FAIR considering the excellent service they offer. Once approved, Kaylee will coordinate a time for one of their professional, experienced and down to earth electricians like Kyle and Aaron to come out (sorry to the few other names that have escaped me). They will arrive on time (shocker, I know) and complete the job exactly as you'd expect. If any issues arise, which inevitably can happen, they are very clever in their solutions. It's very difficult to find someone you can trust like Dickson Electric. Assuming they continue to offer this excellent type of service, they have a customer for life.

Better Air NW's proposal was not only the least expensive by a fair margin, but also offered the highest quality machines and best warranties. Normally, I'd be pretty skeptical at that combination, but all of the positive reviews on Yelp convinced me to accept their offer. A few days later, as I write this I'm basking in the warmth of my new heater. The installation was smooth, painless, and well done. Despite some unexpected challenges in the home's design to figure out and overcome, they charged exactly their estimate; there were none of the kind of headaches or scams that one often expects dealing with contractors. All in all, great experience, these folks deserve their lofty reputation.

Justin (the owner) assured me that if it's not right, it's not done. Air pressure settings needed to be corrected. Due to the vibration, we unmounted the heat pump from the house. After that, it's been smooth sailing. They appear to have a strategy of cultivating customer satisfaction and confidence. If you're shopping around, these guys are a pretty safe bet.

We were informed about challenging areas and what to expect regarding the cleaning of our 28 year old light colored carpet. We are Thrilled ! Forrest did an Excellent job cleaning our carpet and it looks as good as it did on day one of installation! Secondly, Forrest was professional, respectful, careful and competent. I had Firelight come out for an unusual reason: to determine if the masonry monstrosity in the…read morecenter of my home was an original thermal mass heating system, and IF SO, to check the chimney to determine if it is safe to use the firebox in the basement. I found the company to be very professional, all the way from first contact, several calls to schedule, and through to to arrival. The tech was on time and followed instructions to call 5-minutes out so I could corral my protective German Shepherd. The tech was impressively knowledgeable about ancient heating systems, and did a thorough inspection of the masonry and mortar on all three floors and gave me wise advice, which I very much appreciated. I was surprised the tech knew about thermal mass heating that was common in the 1800's to about the mid 1920's. I think he enjoyed getting an unusual service call. Nothing was broken, I just needed confirmation of my suspicion, a chimney/mortar inspection, and advice on safety. I had them do a full inspection on this...monstrosity. Note there is NO FIREPLACE--there has never been one, but there IS a firebox and clean out in the BASEMENT! SEE PHOTOS and descriptions for details. Turns out--this thing IS an original heating system from 1920. Thermal Mass. It was used by building a small hot fire in the basement firebox, load some coal, and let it go. The heat is captured in the brick and held like a battery, released over time. The main floor section is a SOLID MASS OF BRICK. There was never a fireplace there. When the fire burns down, the warm bricks give off heat on the main floor for 8-10 more hours. Thermal Mass Heating. --Rightly, I was advised it's not a good idea to use it, but in case of an emergency... I could. It will still work as intended and the chimney is safe for occasional emergency use. --Later, in the 1940's, someone tied into the flue on the main floor for a wood stove, then in the 1960's that was closed off when natural gas was installed, along with cast iron baseboards--heated by a gas boiler. Hydronic heat via cast iron baseboards is the Best Heat Ever. No blowing air. Just Warm, Penetrating Deep Warmth. Hydronic Radiant Heat heats OBJECTS, not air. THANK YOU FUSE!!!
