For some unknown reason I was craving pasta tonight so I asked Juliette what is the primo offering that I haveta try. "The Lasagna", she said. Well she should know. And she does! It is delicious. Best ever. The pasta is made in house and the dish is served as you can see from the pic with two sauces, a marinara and a béchamel with wine sauce. This is just so amazingly good. this place is more like a 3.75 out of 5 stars. i first found this place when i was across the street getting some bakery items and the only reason why i wanted to check this place out was that it had an interesting name. we eventually stopped here on a random weekday dinner. we ended up getting three items: chicken parmigiana with noodles, seafood pasta and a simple pasta. everything was delicious and everything came out promptly. out of the two entrees the chicken parmigiana was the better choice. before we got our food, they served bread with some olive oil dripping sauce. I heard this location is fairly new? I heard that there was a fire in the old location, and i have no idea where the old location was at. But this place is located in a strip mall, but the inside is fairly dim and doesn't feel like i'm eating in a strip mall. service was good, and there was an older gentleman who was sitting down inside and going around to different tables to chat. Ok, our first time since the old place burned down. Was probably expecting too much. First, the menu on yelp is off by about half. We spent $150 for two of us -- with cheapest wine on the menu. To the food.... We had Caesar salad with anchovies. They were Waxahachie to salty to eat. We also had calamari that was average -- probably the same Sysco stuff that a bunch of restaurants serve. One of us had steak that came with not much else. I'm gonna just cut to the chase without comments on everything. It was 5 star prices for 3 star food. Ambience was pleasant and quiet enough to have a pleasant conversation. Service was ok. Overall, pleasant experience, but nothing especially worth the price. We could have had the same meal at Cafe Italia for half the price. I wish I had been impressed because it's 5 minutes from our house. read more

This place is just really sweet. The owner is cute, he comes by the table to say hi. The piano player does some great hits like Billy Joel, Elton John, The Eagles. Our server, Karim, was wonderful. He was really nice, just the right amount of salesman, he didn't rush us. And did I mention they had four flavors of souffle? The food, it's just out of this world. There's no other way to say it. They make their own ricotta, they make their manicotti crepes fresh daily instead of just using a standard tube pasta. We tried so many things and every bit of it was exquisite. This place used to be so good! I think they are on the downhill. They had 2 servers and the wait yo get anything was long. Our salad was warm, not cold and crunchy, They ran out of the salmon and i substituted for sea bass. It looked like it was thaw and place on plate with no seasoning, just lobster bisque put on top. Chicken (Italian, remember) where the predominant flavor was soy sauce, chopped Italian salad where the main ingredients were inferior lunch meats, carbonara with mass quantities of bacon (not pancetta) so stale it could break a tooth and zero Parmesan (!), toasted ravioli that had clearly been fried and refried and refried-it was so hard and dry. Truly authentic in all the best ways - a very traditional, high quality Italian dining experience. According to a fellow patron, I ordered some of the best they had to offer - Italian chop salad, fresh made crab cakes over angel hair with lobster sauce and an amazing chocolate soufflé. Everything was wonderful - the crab cakes were not only fresh, but they had the perfect crunch and tasted better with every bite. Even though the setting and ambiance demanded a nice attire, most people were dressed very casually. Next time I return, I'll make sure to dress up. This is a great place for date night. This is our first time in their new location. We loved the old location, so much ambiance. Although the scenery had changed the amazing service and outstanding food hasn't changed a bit. We started with the crab stuffed shrimp. So rich and savory. The crab stuffing was plentiful. Next we split a capiases salad. Creamy mozzarella with a side of roasted red bell paper and of course ripe thick sliced tomatoes. We added a little more balsamic just because we love us some balsamic. For a main course I had the pollo angelic. I love that dish! The chicken was tender and juicy with the layer of eggplant and mozzarella. The sauce was creamy and a perfect compliment. A small serving of layered potatoes and spinach soufflé rounded off the plate, simply delicious. The hubs got the lamb chops. 3 generous chops perfectly cooked, tender and wonderful. Also a side of layered potatoes and spinach soufflé. The server talked us into the chocolate soufflé for dessert. I would have rather had the cheesecake but it was ok, just not my favorite. Wine was great and the wine list was extensive. You'll definitely find a wine to complement your meal. I really like they had split bottles of sparkling wine so you don't have to buy a large bottle especially when the hubs would much rather enjoy a cab. Definitely a 5 star evening. The piano music played the entire evening we were there. It's an experience not just a dinner. Make a reservation to avoid a wait. We spent $182 with tip. Worth every single penny! read more

We were seated by a gentleman who actually turned out to be our servers had...Jani (Johnny). Very nice place...live piano music, linen tablecloths, etc. We split a house salad and it was excellent. The bread was fresh and VERY good. My wife had lasagna. It was different from any lasagna she's ever had (and it's her go-to dish at all Italian restaurants), but she said it was quite good. My family and I ment our parents to celebrate their anniversary. As you walk in, the decor and appeals brings you back to the Al Capone era. The restaurant appears old and would likely need it from a face lift. The owner at the front door greeted us and the hostess walked us to our table. A cheerful lady came to our table asking for any music request. She was probably the highlight of the dinner. She played the piano magnificently and added some points to the atmosphere. The waiter was well seasoned and very polished but never really smiled at the table and appeared bothered to be working. The food was ok and overpriced. The pasta Bolognese my daughter had was dry and with no flavor. The fried calamari did not taste fresh and the menu appears old school. We brought a Bundt cake and ordered several soufflés as well. I'm mixed on what to write. Heard so many great things about this place and have been wanting to try it for some time. So last night, last minute, the wife suggests going to Ruggeri's. We walked into the restaurant and I kid you not, all the patrons stopped eating and stared at us. Not the restaurants fault but telling of the customer base. We were asked if we had reservations and when we said no, the owner and hostess acted like they'd have no place to seat us amongst a sea of upcoming reservations. They did seat us. I hasn't been seated for very long before the piano lady asked if we wanted to hear a song to which I declined and told her I'd think about it. The waiter was pushy about the wine and the appetizers. No sooner had we ordered the appetizers he was asking us about dessert. Bro...I haven't even had my appetizers yet. He continued to ask about the dessert and soufflé constantly until our main course arrived. The piano lady after coming by several times again asked if we had any requests. I finally asked for Tiny Dancer by Elton John to which she tells me she didn't know it. I gave her several other songs that any piano player would know and she told me she didn't know them. Why ask at this point? I'm not exactly pop standards material so if that's all you know maybe don't ask? Eventually our food arrived. It looked amazing. However it was so bland. I swear I poured a quarter of the salt shaker onto the food to get it to be flavorful and I'm someone who's sensitive to too much salt. So with the stuffy customer atmosphere, the piano lady who knew no songs, the bland food, the pushy waiter, the owner who hobbled around the restaurant grabbing every chair for support, and the waiter being rude to the help staff just made for an experience that I don't want to repeat. So why 3 stars- I will say the patrons that were there all seemed like regulars and the owner knew them all by name. So if it was a place you'd frequent you may get a level of experience that is sadly lacking now a days. And the restaurant did fill up as our dinner went on so it is popular for some reason. If you are looking for alternates I'd recommend Bellisimo or Itallianis in Hurst for a more casual atmosphere or La Bistro in Hurst if you want something a bit more romantic. read more

Have always had good meals in the past at Ruggeri's restaurant in Collyeville, TX. However, recent experience leads me to believe that, unless you are a "regular", perhaps you're not welcome! Went there on a Saturday evening with a reservation. Were seated immediately upon entry, and one of the waitstaff brought water, but no menus or wine list. We were seated in the bar alcove; very noisy due to three other tables and a few at the tiny bar. Waiter finally showed up after about 15 minutes and asked if wanted drinks or wine. Told him we would like wine with our dinner, after which he walked away, still no menus! About 5 minutes later he came to an adjacent table. We flagged him down and asked if we could get menus, which he then brought. We flagged him down again later and asked if we could place our order, which he then took. We asked if he had a wine list, and he said yes, did we want one (duh!)? Food appeared later and, as always, was good. However, this is not the kind of service I would expect from this restaurant, or in fact, any restaurant at this price point. As an aside, another couple were later seated at an adjacent table where the same waiter appeared immediately with menus and the wine list. They were nearly finished at the same time we did! This was a surprise birthday-buddy dinner, and Johnny took great care of us! Veggie / cheese ravioli had tangy sauce and fabulous fresh herbs and aromatics like sage and oregano. Torn between the salmon special and the vongole... I was gifted a special treat of both. What a perfect bowl of buttery, lemony, garlicky Vongole on the side. We made a reservation for a Satuday night @630 and boy were we glad we did because it was already packed! Took a while to get the servers attention, but I will say the wine glass portions are on point as well as food. We ordered fried raviloli for appetizers and the *only* Rose on the menu, I was happy with the pour and size of the glass of wine for the value where I am usually dissapointed. I honestly dont even remember what I ordered , but I do remember what my boyfriend ordered which is the chicken parm. OMG , best chicken parm you will ever eat!! When I go back, that's what I plan on ordering because WOW! Moist, crisp, saucey, enough cheese and pasta. Never have I found one that matches theres and Ive had many. I want to start out by saying how upsetting it is to even have to write this review being someone who has many friends and family that are in the culinary world. I think the idea of rating a restaurant based on a singular experience is what ruins the magic of chefs and restaurants. That being said, my experience today was magnified because my young daughter was there to witness it. And I think it's important for people who read and who care to know about a restaurant's reviews prior to visiting would appreciate a very hesitant but honest review. I called ahead to ask if we wanted to come in for just dessert, would we be able to place it in advance knowing it takes time for a soufflé to be properly made. The woman on the line graciously said it would be fine and that it would be ready in 30 minutes. Upon getting our dessert, after spooning into the top layer of the chocolate soufflé, I noticed the bottom part was extremely wet. I thought maybe it was the sauce that was poured into the middle but soon realized that the soufflé I was scooping up looked and tasted underdone and pasty. Another indication was how lukewarm the bottom was compared to the piping hot top we had eaten. I called our waitress over and told her that the rest of the soufflé may be a bit undercooked in which she replied "it looks perfect". I explained to her how it tasted a bit pasty and wet in which she replied "it shouldn't be hard inside. If we make you another one, it will look exactly the same" I don't know if she thought I was incompetent or that I was expecting an entirely new soufflé. But the way she spoke to me was completely condescending that even my daughter was made to feel uncomfortable by her tone. I then asked if she could just get it in the oven for a few moments longer. Even after, she would make the remark of "we're going to cook it longer because it's not doing anything. It's the exact same consistency". When she did come back with it, she didn't say a word and basically just slid it on our table as if she's throwing us a bone. Juliette, I am sure being a server is very difficult especially in terms of how entitled and demanding customers can be especially in this culture of convenience and expectation, but your approach towards someone who was nothing but polite and intentional with trying to express a concern was in such poor taste. I have sent countless of my clients to this restaurant before the fire and after. I have eaten soufflés on many vacations and local restaurants like Rise. I recognize what a soufflé should look like when it's properly cooked. And based on my experience, this was under. I was not accusatory or demeaning. I spoke with intent because I had a 14 year old young daughter who is impressionable and should know how to talk to someone respectfully. And I very well could have met you with the same energy you gave me but I allowed myself to seem small so you can feel like the competent one. You seemed like you needed it more than I did. My daughter and I were the only customers in there. Being concerned about the cook of a food we are ingesting is not out of the ordinary. If the waitress was that offended and inconvenienced being asked to ask the chefs to throw a soufflé in the oven for 2 minutes with no one else to serve, maybe this isn't your calling. I used to have such warm memories about this place. I am probably more sad about not coming back here again than the establishment will be not having me back. But this was absolutely worth mentioning. This time, I don't believe it is the negative review that tarnish the restaurant. We had the Mozzarella Caprese for an appetizer and Manicotti for one dinner and Veal Scalopini for the other. Both the appetizer and the entrees were excellent. When we ordered I mentioned my wife was saving room for Tira Misu. As soon as dinner finished the waiter appeared with my wife's dessert. I called ahead on a Friday to see of they have a table for 2 since I found this place on Yelp for romantic dinner. The man was hesitant but said to come. When I arrived, the old gentleman asked if I had reservations and I mentioned that I had to spoke with him, he managed to seat us. There were plenty of tables that are empty. Another couple came in and he turned them away. Yet a a few other people who seemed like regulars also came but he made room for them. So it seems like who you are and if he knows you? Well we had the lobster tail special that the waiter told us about and it was nothing spectacular for the price. It tasted like frozen tail frenched in butter cream sauce and a scoop of mashed potatoes. My husband commented that Papadeaux would have been better. I got the linguine seafood in white sauce.. basically butter and white wine. It was underseasoned. I prefered Cafe Sicilia better. I can see why I have never been to this restaurant despite seeing it before. The only positive point is that it is a cute restaurant in a vintage Colleyville village area. There was a piano lady playing the piano that reminded me of church lady. I would not returned given the strange seating reservation going on. Yesterday, we completed our long trek half way across the United States to our new home in Colleyville. We forgot to get gas turned on in our home, so our first evening here, we couldn't cook. We decided to go out to eat and decided on going to the nearest Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, this happened to be Ruggeri's. We have absolutely no knowledge of this place (or any place around here) entering this establishment. We are starving and need something to eat. There are no unique signs that indicate anything that we should be aware of. So, there are no preconceived judgements for better or worse. The outside is just a strip malls, but on the inside it is nice enough. We are a friendly nice young family. As we enter my young daughter hit her head hard on a piece of the furniture as we walk in and starts crying. I quickly help resolve her crying and we ask for a table. As we come to the front the host asks us to wait a minute. After a short period of time he comes back and says that there are no tables for our family of 5. There are maybe 30 empty tables and 4 occupied tables. He said that they have two tables that hold more than 4 people and those are reserved. We told him that we didn't mind then adding another seat to a table for 4. At this point he looked towards a very old man and he came and repeated the same thing. We could read between the lines of what is going on. They were ushering us out, and we left without an issue. We have never been kicked out of a restaurant before. We don't make scenes and we are very sweet. We have a nice income and we pay our bills. My kids are very friendly and polite, but my daughter did cry for a couple seconds when she came in because she hit her head on their furniture. I have to guess they just hate kids or something. Either way, their service obviously engendered extremely low regard from us. After we left we decided to call another place before we headed off, since we had such a jarring experience. I handed my phone to my wife and she made a reservation. She called the wrong place. She placed a reservation for 5 people for 5 minutes from now at the same place we just left accidentally. So, they obviously lied to us. We went to another establishment down the street soon after and had a nice dinner. Any business has the right to refuse service. I am not outraged or anything, but I felt like I had an extremely rude and embarrassing introduction to our new home. read more

They were super accommodating by serving plain noodles for my picky eaters and crab claws for my foodie. Husband and I enjoyed our meals as well.
