Kept seeing this Lebanese restaurant along Federal Hwy and finally had the rare opportunity to try it. I've had mediterranean food plenty of times but never Lebanese coffee but knew it was super strong. The waitress made traditional Lebanese coffee in a mini metal kettle or Rakweh, presented on a gold colored metal serving tray. I poured the thick black coffee into a small porcelain cup. The taste was extremely strong, nothing at all like cuban coffee. This was our initial lunch visit to Ferdos Grill, and we were extremely happy. The lamb grape leaves were outstanding and very authentic. We both had the Shish Kafta and it was plentiful and outstanding. The salad that they served with the meal was also delicious. Excellent from start to finish. The place is beautiful inside. The booths the chandeliers so ornate. Great attention to detail. Our server was such a gentleman. Very attentive. The food was perfect. Lentil soup, zaatar manakeesh and the mixed grill platter. We actually wound up have 4 meals from it. 3 dinners and one lunch. It's the kind of place that you're planning your next meal at before you even finish. The almond cake dessert was amazing too and expresso was perfect. Everything was so fresh. However, what was mostly concerned us was after our order was taken by the server who is the chef's son not once did he come back to our table and asked if we needed anything else or how was our meal. I've been driving by this restaurant for the 25 years I've lived in Ft Lauderdale. I finally gave it a try on 2/3/24. We arrived at 6pm on a Saturday night and 3 tables were occupied. In the beginning we had great service from the male server. We ordered an appetizer and entree. The server asked if we wanted it all at once or one at a time. We chose one at a time. While we waited for the appetizer another staff member brought us warm pita. There is olive oil at the table for one to dip it in. We received the Arayes appetizer 10 minutes after ordering it. It was delicious. This is when things went downhill. We waited one hour after receiving the appetizer to receive the Shawarma entree. While sitting there waiting for the entree, the staff ignored us for 45 minutes. The male who refills waters checked on us and said our entree will be out shortly. Then the female owner checked on us and said it would be coming up soon. Then the male server came to our table and told us we never ordered the Shawarma and now the owner is yelling at him because we told her we were waiting on our entree. It was so unprofessional. The entree came out about 10 minutes after the server spoke with us. The owner never apologized for the mistake or acknowledged it. The entree was delicious too, but I am staying with the 1 star rating due to the terrible and unprofessional service. They automatically add 18% gratuity to the bill, which we did pay, but felt it should have been removed. read more

My server's name was Favion, he was an amazing server HANDS DOWN!!! It was my first time there, he suggested what I would enjoy from the lunch menu, it was rice and beef, and salad, it also had hummus and it was delicious! The other people just walked past me kinda smirked never said a word to me except are you ready to pay?? They also went past other tables and spoke to each customer. We ordered takeout for the first time and it was excellent! We originally were going to dine in, but we were on a time crunch to go home so we popped in and ordered our meal to go. We came on a Monday night and were greeted right away. We were escorted to the bar and the hostess/server gave us a few minutes to peruse the menu. She suggested the Ferdo Special Platter to share which came with a little bit of everything; protein, rice, salad and hummus along with garlic sauce. We also ordered a side of French fries. While we waited, we enjoyed a glass of delicious Lebanese wine. Our food came out shortly after finishing our wines and we were on our way. With our short time there, the service was great and we'll definitely be back to dine in. When we get home, our food was packaged nicely and it was alllll delicious! The meats were cooked to perfection and she even gave us extra pita to enjoy. All of the flavors were fresh and plentiful and we ate the whole thing. The night my friend and I went was a one woman show. She seated us and was the server. No issues. Ferdos is not a place I'd write out completely and hear me out. The food seemed to lack a bit of freshness and refinement in terms of plating and portion size. The portions are okay for the price but could be better at almost $20 a plate ( for example , the vegetables portion did not coincide with the rice and is personally enjoy more vegetables than parboiled rice ) for something as basic as vegetables , parboiled rice and chicken. I will upload a photo of my plate so you can take a gander. Okay here's the part where we don't write it off. This super quaint spot can be as quiet or as loud , depending on the day and parties inside of course. We went right before the dinner rush and it slowly got a bit louder. It is consistent with the taste , you can easily find that consistency in most of their dishes. The babaganoush was excellent as well as the lentils. The servers are also very pleasant and quick to help but make sure to order everything at once in case there's a huge party. Would I go back to it again? Maybe but it wasn't a space for me to remember to go back because it didn't have anything that truly made it different than most Lebanese spots. read more

The ambience is great! Love the decor, the waitress was amazing, so personable and friendly; she had a lot of knowledge on the food which I loved because I haven't really had much of it before. The food tasted so fresh and delicious! We had three dips: hummus, yogurt dip and baba ghanoush. We had grape leaves, kibbi (fried) which is my fave it's so delicious! And the falafel! So flavorful and crunchy on the outside! The service was immaculate and we even tried dessert, which I can't recall the name but it had cheese and rose petal water with crispy noodles on top and crushed pistachios it was delightful! Sad to leave a bad review. We love this restaurant. Been going there for years. Everything is usually spot on ... service, food, atmosphere, even the belly dancers. But all of that was 100% opposite tonight. We arrived at 7:30 PM. We ordered a bottle of wine which they were out of. The waiter brought us the most expensive wine on the menu as a substitute. It was awful. We ordered another bottle which they were out of and the waiter brought us another more expensive one which was awful. We settled on a less awful wine and didn't finish it. We ordered the mixed dips appetizer ... which the waiter (Julio) forgot to place. We finally got our appetizer at 8:05 PM and it was wrong. Then we didn't get our main entree's until 8:40. The salmon was smelly and the veggie kabobs were a different mix from what we are used to. They close at 9:00 PM and since we were still eating, we were still there. They turned off the music and blamed it on the internet. (BTW: there were no belly dancers even though there are supposed to be on Saturday nights) Then the bill came with an 18% gratuity added in. That has NEVER happened. The waiter said it has always been done. Not true. We will never return and we are sad to see this restaurant go downhill. read more

A server had put a high gratitude automatically 18%, and, after we told we needed to put different amount, he told it's America, and he couldn't reverse that transaction. Finally, we reversed transaction despite of his statement. He gave us cash. I forgot a purse, he came to our car, went rushing outside (having best intentions, might be?). But he was having such angry face, holding his right hand with the purse behind, like holding a gun. All of my family thought so. Then he gave my purse back and told: " it's God!". No idea what it meant. Because of his angry face and manner taking out his hand, like taking out a gun, I got severe cardiac spasm. Understanding, he might me frustrated working on holiday, but all of us do sometimes, and still have to have a nice face. It's business, and we were excellent grateful customers. read more

Let me upfront say I have always loved this restaurant's food and service plus I take the blame for not reading my check BUT the server never said a word! BE AWARE OF TIP ADDED! I have been coming to Ferdos Grill for quite a while but last night was the first time I charged our dinner. I don't mind a tip being included in the price BUT I would like to be told about it. In addition to the $24 CASH tip we left I just noticed today that I was charged a $17.82 tip on my charge card! That came to a total of $41.82 for a little over a 40% tip!!. I was a waiter for 38 years and when I worked at a restaurant where a tip was included I always told the customer. Whether this is a new policy of the new owners or not I feel the server is responsible to tell the customer of the tip being added but then he/she might not get doubled tip! I will NOT be coming back to Ferdos Grill anymore. read more

i was in the mood for something on the healthier side, mediterranean maybe. my friends suggested this place, so we all opted in. i had never been here before, but id soon find out i was in for a treat ! i ordered the shrimp appetizer to start, which went great with the warm pita they send to the table. the shrimp were a healthy size and the sauce full of flavor. for my entree i went with the falafel salad. the salad itself was tasty and fresh, yet proverbial, however, the falafel nuggets they give with the salad were phenomenal ! crunchy on the outside, moist/soft on the inside, and loaded with flavor ! it's a great accompaniment to the salad and gives it life. my friends got the tacos and the meat, which i didn't try, but they complimented their meals and very much enjoyed it. service was a bit on the slower side, but our server was working the whole room alone, so i didn't hold it against him, and it didn't change our great experience. i will 100% be back !!! read more

I have been a customer for over 20 years and always look forward to eating here. Today I met my sister for lunch I ordered the Chicken Tawook Platter. The rice is different but still good. The chicken was way under cooked, and the peppers were raw. They added a sauce to the kabob that was overpowering and covered the taste of the chicken. My sister got a gyro platter that was ok. When the bill came it was $44 dollars. My kabobs were $17 which is the lunch special price but they charged $25 for the gyro which is the dinner price. My buddy was in town this past Saturday so after a day of rock climbing we were starving and went to ferdos. It's been months since I've been there so I was pretty excited to go. We arrived and were seated immediately and probably not even 15min and our appetizers were on the table. A few minutes later and the Main dish was served. Love this restaurant and have been patronizing it for many years, and more than one ownership. Love the clean, fresh, healthy and delicious food. I was very disappointed today about the customer service though, a while back a good friend had given me a gift card to this restaurant Because we both love it; I kept waiting for her to be available so we could have lunch together and use the card; ;months went gone by and I finally decided to use it today. When I presented it to the hostess, who has also 'seen' me at the restaurant for several years now; she said she needed to doublecheck because they did not accept old gift cards. She returned to tell me that card was not in their system, although she said it was a Ferdo's gift card from last year. Needless to say, I was somewhat surprised because even if even if she had never seen me before, gift cards are as good as cash, and I never known for them to expire and there is no expiration date on the card. I don't think the card is older than a year at the latest. I would like to ask my friend to demand an explanation from them, but I'm too embarrassed to let her know I hadn't gotten around to use it.
