Recently my wife and I took advantage of the real estate market in downtown Chicago and decided to remodel both the kitchen and bathroom of our new loft. I had heard of Ferguson before and decided to give the Downer's Grove location a shot - there aren't too many showroom-type places in the city that we knew about and really didn't know who to trust. I've gotten burned at Sears and Home Depot in the past with people who don't understand products AND my needs. I definitely wanted to purchase from a place that was not a big-box, but really understood me. We made multiple visits to the showroom, even going to the store on Western in the city once. The first time, we just wanted to talk through a few things and try to help frame up our remodel project. We literally had no idea, and being first time re-modelers, didn't want to be overwhelmed. After a few iterations of looking at products, and remodel construction had begun on our place (floors, painting, cabinet installs, etc.), it was time to make our big purchase. We ended up heading back to Ferguson since they had all of our information on file, and sent along dimensions, etc. ahead of time. I gave my most conservative price range (i'm cheap at heart...but quality does come at a cost) and what I was aspiring to purchase. Ahead of us stopping in I had talked with Ferguson and our showroom person had picked out a few pieces for the kitchen. Our bathroom had special requirements for the toilet since the building was so old (so while our options were limited...we did have "options"). I was amazingly impressed that not only were we able to get the pieces that we wanted to get (Bathroom: Xylem vanity, Pro-Flo toilet, Marable faucet - Kitchen: Whirlpool Gold fridge, Kenmore DW, Delta Faucet, Blanco sink) , but we were able to upgrade some of these pieces because the price was under our original budget! My new building also has some crazy delivery restrictions on hours, no loading dock, etc., and the delivery person was able to work within all of them, which was above and beyond in my book. It will be very hard for me to look anywhere else (or with any other show room person) when I put in my Jacuzzi tub in 2013 because of the value Ferguson placed on me as a customer...truly appreciated my needs. read more

Went in without an appointment prepared to order faucets, sinks and possibly a new tub and shower fixtures. Our sales person did a good job at showing us some beautiful fixtures and tried hard to upsell, but was reluctant to help us find what we wanted in our desired price point. Quality, construction questions were brushed off as were questions about appropriate size fixtures we needed for the sink we were looking for. I had more questions, but we were scooted away from his desk once it was clear we weren't in his price point. Too bad he wasn't interested. I then went home and researched what he had shown including the higher priced pieces, only to find significantly lower prices elsewhere. If he had been more in tune with what I was asking for, he would have had a sale and I would not have found less expensive sources. read more

Im a contractor I ordered a standard whirlpool corner tub from Ferguson. I was told it would be 2 weeks for the tub. unfortunate for my customer they are a month late on the delivery and was just told it would be anther month. What makes it even worse is that no one ever calls you back and every one has a chip on there shoulder. I don't know how this company is even in business. read more

Horrible service from "team". Would never recommend them. Project delays and redos because of one person not knowing what the other is doing. Delivery truck at our home twice to pick up returns- things we never took from warehouse! Delivery truck again to bring products- not full order! read more

Terrible customer service. Visited the store today and was not acknowledged by anyone in the store. No one said hello or asked if I had any questions or needed any help. Left the store without getting any of my questioned answered and they weren't busy. Terrible customer service! read more

I stopped into Fergusson on a Wednesday afternoon at 3:45 - following up an internet inquiry regarding Thermador appliances. I had hoped to see a range-top and double oven I was interested in. Fergusson, in their email to me had even provided a code number to use on my visit for "expedited service". Well expedited it was not. It wasn't even service. There was one other customer in the store - who had entered after me, and approx. 5 Ferguson designers seated at their desks + receptionist in the store at the time of my visit. First the receptionist was too busy to acknowledge my visit. When she did - she said she would need to find an available designer to help me. Well in the time it took for me to wander the store and look at their appliances - no designer was available. This, at the busy hour of 3:45 PM on Wednesday (shift change?)! So much for expedited service. Not only has Ferguson lost my appliance purchases, but the additional purchases of a sink, faucet and rangehood for the kitchen and the sink, toilet and faucet for the adjoining 1/2 bath. I will continue to stick with ABT where I have only enjoyed exceptional service and great prices. From Ferguson's marketing material they pride themselves on their 300 some locations nationwide. I hope the other 299 are better than this Downers Grove location (I guess they couldn't be worse...) read more

I've been to this showroom twice and both experiences were, well... aggravating and bad. I'm 29 years old and I may look younger than their average customer, but both times that I entered I felt like they didn't want to give me the time of day. On my most recent visit, there were at least 5 Sales Associates there and after not being helped for 10 minutes I approached one for help and they told me I had to ask the lady at the front desk. So, I walked from the back of the store to the front and when I asked that lady for help she never looked at me but just continued typing. I paused for a while waiting for a response and then she said, "someone will meet you back there." So, I walked to the back of the store and waited for another 10 minutes watching several Sales Associates talking about their kids and no one even looked my way. Eventually my wife and I walked out the front door and again, not one person acknowledged that we were leaving or even seemed to care. I know that something like this could be a simple misunderstanding, but this was almost the exact same experience I had the first time. My wife and I have been trying to remodel our bathroom and both times we felt like we weren't given any attention and like no one cared to speak to us. We will have to continue giving our business to other showrooms that supply Kohler products. I would NOT recommend going to this store. read more

My husband and I were overall very pleased by Ferguson. We recently remodeled our master bathroom and were impressed by the showroom. The variety was phenomenal - so much to choose from at a variety of price points. Prices were clearly marked and we received all of our ordered items promptly. I didn't find any other place in the western suburbs with the selection offered by Ferguson. I thought the prices were fair and I wasn't overwhelmed by the sales staff. The staff was courteous and did not "shadow" you as you walked about the showroom but were immediately available when we did need assistance. We would definitely use them again. read more

Horrendous customer service. My husband and I were referred to Ferguson's by one of the contractors working on our new home. We scheduled a consultation and first picked out plumbing fixtures for our entire house. We were told that we would have a brochure with pictures of everything we'd selected along with a price list within the next two or three days. Five days later, I had to call and ask where our estimate was. I was told we would have it by the end of the day. We were then only sent the brochure -- no pricing list -- and the brochure was missing numerous items we had selected and listed incorrect items as well. It took another few days to get the brochure partially corrected...but still no pricing list. In the meantime, we went back in to pick out light fixtures for our house. After that appointment, we were told we'd have both estimates and brochures by the end of the next day. The sales rep instead called the next evening with a few questions and assured us that we would have the estimates within the next two days. Again, it instead took five days before we were given estimates. We reviewed the estimate for the plumbing fixtures and compared prices online and found that we could purchase virtually all of the items for 10%-15% less than the contractor's price Ferguson was offering us. We emailed the sales rep back and asked if there was any room to negotiate on prices. It has been nearly two weeks, and we have heard absolutely nothing back from him. The order we had planned on making with Ferguson's was not insubstantial. With all of the plumbing and lighting fixtures we needed, our order would have been well over $10k. They have lost all of our business, however, due to the absolute lack of customer service and complete absence of follow-through. I am usually one who gives people the benefit of the doubt, but in light of the repeated delays, numerous mistakes in the estimates even when we did finally receive them, and non-existent communication, it became painfully clear that our business was not valued at all by Ferguson's. I would strongly discourage anyone from doing business with them. read more

Ferguson's was phenomenal at working with our contractors to help us get what was needed at a good value! Dawn was very helpful at putting together all of the items necessary for the entire remodel of two full baths and one powder room. I highly recommend her. They know their products and help you find the best solution for your needs. Terri in their accounting office is excellent as well. read more

Buyer beware. I spent two days negotiating in good faith on the price of a fridge and dishwasher. Once we agreed on a price I got paperwork that was asking for almost 10% more. I would never do business with these guys again after what they just did! read more

Both him and his team were easy to deal with and presented us a ton of options that fit within our price range. I second another reviewer's comment - CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWEFUL! I went to Ferguson on a Thursday afternoon. There was literally one other customer in the entire store while 15 people were probably working there. The receptionist greeted me and said to feel free to ask her if I had any questions. I took a look around and picked out the pieces I had in mind - I was looking for complete set of appliances and bathroom set - Wolf Range, Electrolux Washer/Dryer, Kohler Vanity Set.. etc. I went back and asked her if the pricing listed on the stickers were correct and whether there's an additional discount if I purchase 5+ pieces of appliances. She quickly answered no and turned away. Then I had a question about an Electrolux built in microwave/oven. She finally said let me get you a consultant. She then proceeds to do whatever she was working on while I waited for a consultant for 15 minutes. No one came to help. I can understand if it was a Saturday and they were busy - but the store was empty! Unfortunately, they are one of the very few Wolf dealers around the area.. Now I have to drive all the way to the other end of town. Very disappointed! read more

I received appliance from Fergusons in a new home and was extremely disappointed in their customer service. We received floor models which is fine when they are a year or younger. But the sales lady never told us how old each appliance was and we have had problems with two of them, one being a seven year old model which they never told us about. They did not give us warranty cards on some either. They were not very helpful with either of our problems. Kind of pushed to the side. I have had better and so much better customer service at another appliance store and would have gone there instead but builder mentioned them. would never recommend to friends or go back. read more

At the recommendation of our contractor my wife and I visited this Ferguson showroom location mid day today. When we arrived and entered the show room receptionist said hello and nothing else, after which we proceeded to walk around the show room for approximately a half hour and during that time none of the six sales associates that we saw their acknowledged our presence in anyway or asked if they could help us. In all fairness two or three of those six people seem to either be with a customer or on the telephone but the other three were sitting at their desks either typing into their computers or eating lunch. I would expect under those circumstances to be acknowledged as a potential customer And asked if there was any help required or something to that effect. To be completely ignored is extremely unprofessional. My wife and I have already contracted for a bath remodel and the purchase of materials can take place at any time now but we will not be buying from this company. After this disappointing experience we went to a Ferguson competitor, WILLIAM Meyer Company and were treated like royalty and will be buying our thousands of dollars of materials there. Ferguson management better get their act together and stop being so snooty or they will continue to lose business as they did with us. A sidenote that I should mention is that before I retired I did business directly with Ferguson as a factory representative for three of their supplier companies so this is especially frustrating for me as a professional sales person . read more
