If I could I would give them a 0. 2 and a half years ago, I took my car to Pearl City Auto Works for a brake job. It cost me almost $5k to do it. Now they told me I gotta spend another $2400 to fix the same problem. My other half and I talked business with the owner's daughter Shay Nakamura about the situation and asked certain questions and she couldn't give any feedback to the situation at hand. She tried to give me a discount, but I don't think it was enough, considering I know for a fact they are charging me 3-4x the actual cost for the parts and then will eventually get more money back because of the cores. I text the number they text me with explaining my situation and there were no response. 2 phone numbers they text me from I left a text message, no response. That right there shows me that that they have poor communication skills. Communication was done with text. To be honest, I prefer real conversation with a person/company. I believe that they either did a poor job 2 and a half years ago or the quality of parts they used suck!! I got ripped off the first time and they tried to do that again the second time around. NEVER again will I do business with them!!

The shop is extremely clean and the bay looks organized, seems they work on many different makes and models. After picking up my car they didn't install the O2 sensors because I didn't need it. The guy at the front went through what the cause was and gave me some tips on preventing it and they didn't even charge me! Car is running great so far. My partner received pictures and updates along the way, and I truly appreciated the communication, especially since they had my truck overnight. One challenge was how narrow the entrance is when pulling in, but thankfully that wasn't too much of an issue during drop-off. My experience ended up being 4 stars because I paid $704 for diagnostics and a transmission fluid service, only to be told that the transmission issues would likely continue over time. The recommendation given was that replacing the vehicle might be a better option if we didn't want to continue investing money into the truck. Afterward, I reached back out to ask for a quote on either rebuilding or replacing the transmission so I could better understand my options. Unfortunately, I've waited quite a while without receiving a response. At this point, even after spending the money on the diagnostics and service, the truck is still undrivable and sitting in a parking lot while I continue paying for a rental car. I completely understand that transmission work can be complicated, and I am grateful they were able to inspect my truck since I don't know much about transmissions myself. When I first brought the truck in, I also mentioned an issue with my taillight. I was initially told it would be added to the diagnostics at the end, but it was never looked at. I was later informed that I would need to pay an additional $185 just to diagnose the taillight issue. At that point, I decided to simply pick up the truck. The communication was excellent from start to finish while the vehicle was actively being worked on, but as a returning customer, I do feel disappointed that I haven't received any follow-up regarding the transmission quote. I'm hoping someone from the team can reach back out soon so I can better understand what my next steps and costs may be.

I stopped by for an estimate and immediately felt comfortable with Nik and Andrew. What sold me immediately was a Lamborghini and multiple BMW M series in the shop for repair work. If you drive a car like that, you're not taking it to anyone. The finished result exceeded my expectations. The bodywork and paint came out flawless and the paint match is excellent. My Tesla honestly looks like glass again. If you didn't know where the damage was before, you'd never be able to tell now. I worked with Craig to get a quote. He's a super nice guy and very knowledgeable. All of their staff were very friendly. I'm really appreciative because I don't frequent these types of shops, so I was glad they took the time to walk me through the plan of what they were going to do to the car. They also explained the work they did when I went to pick up my vehicle as well. So, so very grateful! I accidentally burned through the paint on the trunk with my rotary after using a pad that wasn't fully primed. I was absolutely sick to my stomach because it wasn't even my own car. The first person I called was Shannon at 2020 Auto Body because he's the only person I trusted to make it right. The repair came out absolutely flawless. Anyone who's worked with automotive paint knows that matching metallic blue can be tricky, but the color match was dead-on. He has one of those super gangster OEM paint matching machines in his shop! You'd never know the trunk had been repaired. He also gave me a realistic timeline, kept me updated throughout the process, and took the time to explain the proper curing process and when it would be safe to ceramic coat the fresh paint. What I appreciated the most was how much he cared about helping me out. He knew I was in a tough spot and went out of his way to get the car taken care of quickly without cutting any corners. I'll be upfront, Shannon is a close friend of mine. That said, if I didn't genuinely believe in his work, I wouldn't put my name behind recommending his shop. I've seen the pride he takes in every repair, and this experience only reinforced why I trust him. As he always says, put your best foot forward. Do the right thing and do the best work is what I live by and I learned from him! As someone who details vehicles professionally on the side, I'm extremely picky about paint quality, panel finish, and attention to detail.
