Great shop! Ferney's came highly recommended from others in the 5280 Mini club and he didn't disappoint! My older '11 Mini Cooper S had a coolant leak and I couldn't diagnose where it was coming from. Ferney's confirmed it was the pump and had it repaired in one day! My car broke down to the side of the road and it would start but the engine would not stay on. My insurance company had my car towed to this establishment and I left it there for them to determine the problem. They called me later and said that I had to replace the engine. I asked them about the fluid levels and the first thing he said is they were all full, the second thing he said was the important ones are good, and then the third reply was there's a quart of oil and the power steering fluid was fine. They kept asking me what I wanted to do instead of offering any further action. So now I'm supposed to replace my engine or car based on someone's best guess. I told them I'd tow it elsewhere and don't feel like I have any options. read more

So I was driving to work down Sante Fe and suddenly my car starts smoking! The worst feeling of dread fell over me. I pulled over and popped the hood. A guy driving by said there was an Auto repair place right up the block. It was Ferney's--the best possible thing that could have happened to me! Turned out my thermostat housing burst (and needed new radiator hose). They said they'd look at it and it'd be done by the end of the day. Then, the most magical thing of all happened: They asked if I needed a ride to work. Ferney gave me a ride to work! It was wonderful, let me tell you. He picked me up at the end of the day, went to the shop where I paid and got my car. They replaced the housing with a metal version that won't ever break again. It was very reasonably priced and I felt confident they were not messing with me at all. I got a handwritten postcard thanking me and giving me a discount off an oil change. And my car is working spiffily! I will definitely go there again (for anything) and recommend this shop highly to anyone. read more

After the dreaded low-power engine light appeared my wife had our beloved Mini Cooper S towed to Ferney's and received a call shortly after it arrived at the shop stating that they would try to get a look at it but it might be Monday or Tuesday before they could work on it (this was Thursday at 5:15 - they close at 5). Fereny called again around 7PM Thursday with a rundown on a faulty Coil, possible bad plug (causing the misfire and bad performance we had been experiencing), and low crank voltage from the battery. At 2PM Friday Ferney called and said he was done with the car -- we went to pick it up and he walked my wife through all of the details of what was done and showed her the faulty coil and plugs. Also he took the time to explain what maintenance schedule should be done on the R56 and to not just go by the reminder lights. Customer service of this caliber is difficult to find these days - Ferney has earned our business for all of our autos from now on. read more

His service rates are extremely reasonable, and he has a VERY fair approach to prioritizing what service repairs need immediate attention, what can wait - to be done next - and when. He provides great customer service, showing you where the repairs are needed, and why - in layman's terms. I had my clutch replaced, power steering lines replaced, and shocks. He even recommended a complimentary follow-up 1-2 weeks later to be sure all is running properly and if any adjustments necessary. VERY focused and attentive. No overkill service with overcharged rates that some dealers are known for. Note: He also services Honda, Toyota, and domestic vehicles as well. read more

SUPER! My 2003 Mini had the brake light on all the time so I could not get emissions tested to renew my plates. Ferney diagnosed the problem and fixed it FREE! We brought my wife's 2006 Mini to Ferney's last week for an oil change, general inspection and to correct a squeak on the right, rear wheel. Owned Mini's for years, it's great to finally find a Mini expert like Ferney who charges fair prices, much less than any Mini dealer. I could tell by looking at the serpentine belt that it need to be replaced and my air conditioning was not working as well. Both were repaired within 2.5 hours as promised. I knew my clutch was wearing out at 110K miles, Ferney's labor quote with Valeo clutch parts was the best in Denver. Ferney has great experience with all major repairs since he was factory trained at Schomp Mini. The new clutch works perfectly, he even repaired my reverse light without charging me for labor. I am recommending Ferney's to all my Mini cohorts and to any one that needs work done on their Mini. read more

I went to this establishment because of the ratings. I moved to the area in August and was looking for an honest reliable mechanic. Beware of the ratings they are not always right. Within 6 months of taking my vehicle to this business there happened to be something significantly wrong with my car, this would be the second time I had went to this place, first time for breaks, second time for clutch. The first time I took my car it needed breaks and a few other procedures done, and now I am pretty sure the breaks were fine. The second time taking my car to this place it needed a couple parts for the clutch according to the technician after I left my car there for 4 hours to be looked at. I got my car back and the clutch started working properly, pretty sure it was only air and needed to be bled that's all. I called to see if it were okay to drive, the technician said it should be do you want me to cancel the parts, I said well didn't you look at the car, do I in fact need the parts... again I was asked do you want to cancel the parts, I said yes. I was also told I needed a serpentine belt. At this point in time, I decided to get a second opinion and neither the clutch or serpentine belt needed to be replaced. BE CAREFULL UNKNOWLEDGEABLE FEMALE, MALE TECHNICIANS LIKE TO SCAM YOU OUT OF MONEY!
