The team at Jacobs Berry farm is a well oiled machine and made our day absolutely perfect and smooth for an incredible price. The accommodations were incredible, and all the staff specifically Denise and our day of coordinator Kyra are true professionals who are attentive and knowledgeable. The owners were also great. Answering questions and scheduling multiple tours and walkthroughs months in advance. The grounds are whimsical, Gorgeous, and immaculately maintained. You really don't need to add much to this place to make it feel like a super expensive wedding. Our guests continued to compliment how amazing the venue was throughout the night. Our daughter had her wedding here on August 9th, 2025. We are so happy she and our now son-in-law chose this venue. It is an incredible gem tucked away in a magical setting. Chad, Michelle (owners), and Denise (wedding coordinator) were the best! They communicated very well, were so accommodating and did not say no to any of our requests (all within reason). The communication back and forth was timely and never did we feel as though we were just another customer. They made everyone involved including an additional coordinator, feel like family. This place shouldn't be allowed to host weddings with their staff. Our experience was completely overshadowed by the event coordinator, Denise, and what happened on our wedding day. During our reception, Denise began collecting decorations early, while guests were still present and celebrating. This created confusion and made several of our guests feel rushed to leave and uncomfortable. Ending our celebration early with guests we didn't get to visit with. When guests asked questions, her responses were rude and dismissive, which was completely inappropriate for a wedding. Worst of all, my beautiful bride, ended up crying on our wedding day due to the unnecessary stress caused by this situation. No bride should ever have a sad moment on what is supposed to be one of the happiest days of her life. To their credit, the owners did attempt to make it right by reimbursing some of our costs. They also acted shocked by Denise's behavior and told us she would be removed. However, to this day, Denise continues to work there, likely continuing to ruin weddings yet to come. Weddings are once-in-a-lifetime events, and they require professionalism, compassion, and proper timing. Sadly, that was not our experience, and because of this, I cannot recommend Jacob's Berry Farm as a wedding venue. read more

We got a call. Would you like to go to a little history talk being sponsored by the Carson Valley Historical Society? It's at the Jacob's Berry Farm. Sure, we go to church next door, but we've not ever, in our 30 years living in the Carson Valley, been to the location. I'm glad we went, and I'd encourage you to go to any event that you get invited to. First, this is the original home of the Lampe Family. The current farm is five acres, and it features many of the original buildings. The berry activity is relatively new. The big barn is the highlight. They've got timbers in there that can not be replaced. They are tall and from locally sourced trees from over 100 years ago. Should this barn burn, it would be, frankly, irreplaceable. The historical society had a speaker, and I apologize, as his name has escaped me, and he was able to describe the barn, the system of construction used, his analysis of the era it was built based on the details present in the construction, and it was fascinating. There is more than just the barn, as they've got the original bunkhouse, the family house (which has been added to at least three times over the course of the Lampe family's time at the ranch), and the current owners, the Jacobs family, has worked hard to improve the property since they acquired it. In short, if you get invited to this property, or you need some berries, you won't go wrong here. Don't be like me and live here for over 30 years and never drop in, and when you do go, be sure to have them explain the history of the outhouse that's still functional. read more

Don't get me wrong the place is beautiful, it's the people who run it are absolutely rude. In my understanding we were told they were not servicing alcohol, so we assumed we can bring our own. However some lady came by and instead of politely telling us we can't have any alcohol and let us put it in our vehicle, she grabbed our bottle and said "ITS A NON-ALCOHOLIC PARTY" in a rude tone, I apologized and ask if I can put it in the car, instead she processed to walk away and threw the bottle in the trash. We had the wedding of our dreams at Jacob's berry farm this past October! The venue is gorgeous and Denise, the venue coordinator, truly was amazing to work with. She was quick to reply to all of our emails and texts, and was always happy to show us around and share her expertise when we needed help. There was an area for the guys to get ready and hangout as well as a separate building for the girls to get ready and not be seen by the groom. There are so many options for where to have the ceremony, all beautiful, we chose to have our ceremony in the grass under the apple trees and it was perfect! We had about 80 guests and there was plenty of space for a larger wedding. Denise helped make sure everything went off without a hitch, even helped hold our dog before his turn down the aisle. read more

Recently attended a wedding at this venue. The grounds were amazing the the barn was perfect....although, there was an attendant or whatever she was terrorizing the wedding guests and the mother of the bride who could not even enjoy her own daughters wedding because she was being bothered every few minutes. She yelled at my wife trying to kick her out of the wedding party after being asked for help by the bride. Here days later I'm hearing of all the issues this woman was causing and it was so uncalled for. To the point that the bride felt that her morning was ruined because she was being rushed. Rushing and kicking everyone out being out locking the barn with peoples items still inside. The music was very quiet for a wedding and we were still asked to turn down the music. Denise needs to get off her high horse and stop setting up her own timelines and ruining what was supposed to be a beautiful day. I would not recommend this venue if this is what you can expect of them. And again just to say the grounds were amazing and the owner was friendly, but Denise needs to go read more

Who knew berries could grow in the desert? Not me! Who knew there were 16 different varieties of berries? Not me! Who knew 16 varieties of berries were being lovingly grown in the beautiful Carson Valley? Not me for the third time! Wow! The agricultural scene here in Northern Nevada never ceases to amaze me! We live in the desert right? Well you couldn't tell looking at the beautifully lush rows of berry bushes on Jack Jacobs farm! He grows 16 varieties of raspberries and blackberries there, along with a big ol' hive of honey bees who help pollenate the plants. We had a chance to tour the farm and enjoy some berries right off the bushes, with Jack's guidance of course. See he's pretty particular about when his berries should be eaten, and only wants them to be enjoyed at their peak of ripeness. His standards yielded 3-4 of the best tasting pieces of fruit I've ever eaten, with the highlight being a Natchez Blackberry. This berry was literally bursting with sweet juice, and chewing it felt like drinking a glass of it! In order to maintain standards and only pick fruit at the top of its game, Jack only sells berries on the farm. But trust me, you want to go there! The grounds are beautiful, the fruit so sweet and delicious, and the people so friendly and kind that this is just a great place to visit and spend some time. I suggest bringing some friends and a bottle of wine, picking up some berries or jam from the Berry Shop, and finding a quite corner or one of the beautiful trees to sit under for an afternoon. Such a beautiful venue. We go to a lot of venues being a wedding cake vendor and we have been to Jacobs Berry farm a handful of times. We still remember the first time we went there (photos attached) we were in complete shock. it was gorgeous! Not only were we surprised to find this place but never knew it existed. The grounds were perfectly manicured, as the barn was spotless as well. who knew Nevada had a berry farm and was cleaner than some homes we have been to. As we worked hard for hours it seemed putting every single cupcake along some beams of wood, we thought the pictures would never come out because it was hot and for sure thought they would melt! obviously, they made it without making a mess or looking bad for the bride and groom. We have yet to meet anyone who was in charge per say, but we usually sneak into a venue before anyone sees us. But good job you guys! Amazing Location for a wedding or a big party. They have a great old barn, a huge area with beautiful lawn covered by trees, plenty of space and can accommodate at least 200 people in my estimation. They even have a nice garage with hot, very hot actually, running water and a work space that you or your catering company can use to prep food. I haven't really dealt with the owners, so I can't speak to how they are, but the location is easy to find, set back a good distance from the road and very tranquil. Beware!.....Read the small print and make sure you are covered for a Pandemic that is nobody's fault and no one saw coming after making your deposit to hold a "Special Date" All our daughter's wedding plans were shredded along with that "special date" when due to this Pandemic, it was canceled. At a time when most had decent courtesy and were returning deposits when dates were canceled we had to make many phone calls and letters to the Berry Farm. We finally received 1/2 of the deposit for this "special date" with an offer of rescheduling with left over dates. We were also told we would get a list of expenditures for THIS wedding on this date. We were told that the wedding planner received 1000.00 and have not been given a name of whom this even is. Well, the wedding went ahead on this "special date" and was ABSOLUTLY BEAUTIFUL without the Berry Farm. What started out as excitement to have found this venue ended with much disappointment.....so just beware and read the small print. read more

From the early planning stages to the big day, they offered support and advice for every detail of our wedding. Brooke La Fata of My Wedding Library was also very helpful in planning and executing our wedding. On our wedding day, an unexpected thunderstorm rolled through, and the Jacobs Family Berry Farm staff jumped into action so quickly and smoothly that most of our guests didn't even know that dinner was supposed to be on the lawn, and not in the barn. Brooke was very instrumental in rallying the troops to get this done quickly and efficiently so that we did not have to worry about it and could focus on entertaining our guests. The venue at Jacobs Family Berry Farm is very unique and special. There are multiple areas that can be used for ceremonies, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing, with each being unique and special in its own way. If you are getting married in the Carson Valley, I strongly recommend Jacobs Family Berry Farm! read more

Attended a wedding here. Beautiful location. Barn and grounds are very nice. There isn't anything else in the area like this which makes it a unique venue. Has the potential to be a really great place. However, the owner and other staff were very unpleasant. Made it an awkward wedding. They patrolled the venue and watched over guests to make sure they behaved properly. They were overly strict which made it difficult to enjoy the party. I understand that certain rules should be instilled but this was a bit much. They frequently lectured and had a "talking to" many of the guests. They were very unprofessional in the way the did this by being rude and confrontational and numerous times threatened to kick guests out and shut down the reception. I really wanted to like this venue however would strongly discourage anyone wanting to have an event here. It's too bad because it really is a great place but just too restricting to be able to enjoy it. read more

Beautiful barn. Lousy owners. If you want your wedding here, make sure the bride knows she is expected to pick up trash, rake the dirt, and MOP THE BARN FLOOR the morning after her wedding! Seriously, this guy is off the charts! He even threatened to keep the bride and groom's deposit for a month "just in case he finds something later." And this was after they cleaned up, picked up trash, and mopped and raked THE BARN! Ha! It was nuts! Seems the owner got a little upset because there was a lot of drinking at the reception? Imagine that! Then he said there was some "illegal drugs". (One guy tried to smoke some pot. We got him out of there and back to the hotel.) There were kids, in-laws, grandparents, and all had a good time. But the owners had these weird "volunteers" that followed the guests around, even to the bathroom! And they were odd...kind of creepy. The "monitors" even tried to insert themselves into conversations. It was surreal. The "recommended" bartender cut off many guests, even though the wedding party had arranged for limo transportation for anyone - free! They tried to shut us down prematurely and offered no explanation. The next morning I arrived to find the groom picking up trash, while the bride's father raked the barn, the groom's mother was asked to mop the barn floor, and the bride was hurriedly trying to clean so that they could get their deposit check and go home and relax. (He wouldn't give them their deposit back even though he said he couldn't find anything wrong. They finally got it back yesterday, 10 days later.) This dude tried to ruin their wedding but he and his creepy cousins didn't succeed. We were better than them. We left it better than we found it. And we enjoyed ourselves despite this weird guy and his oddball group of monitors. Don't have your wedding or event here. Unless you like creepy, weird, oddball owners that charge $4500 and make you rake and mop their barn. read more

A berry interesting education As we wondering thru Gardnerville taking in the sights, we make one last stop- Jacobs Berry Farm. A farm set up a little like I remember in the Midwest except there are no chicken running around and no smelly pig lot. But a darling Victorian home, several out buildings, and fields of berries instead of corn and beans. If no one is around when you drive in, just honk and someone appears from one of the buildings. We were interested in some fresh berries. OK What kind? Blackberries and raspberries are in season now. We follow one of the owners into a small chilled building and he asks what kind of blackberries did we want? Huh? He has eight different varietals. With big eyes I said I guess I don't know what I want now. He pulls out a tub filled with each variety to try- wow there is a difference. We narrowed down the two we liked and made our purchase. Then my husband ( the city boy) started to ask questions about planting and growing these guys at home. Now we get more of an education- the gentleman explained where the plant come from and offered any help getting our plants started and if we have further questions to just email him. So incredibly nice and helpful. But I'm thinking it would be easier to go there for berries than have me try to tend several plants myself, we shall see read more

I had my wedding here in September 2013 and it was absolutely perfect. The owners do a remarkable job at maintaining the property and they are very accommodating. They will work hard to make sure you get the vision you want. For example, I wanted lights strung from the very, very tall barn doors and they figured out a way to make it happen. This venue is not only amazing and a hidden gem of the area, the couple who owns and run the farm are truly one of a kind! They keep the venue looking beautiful. The first couple events and wedding I planned at the venue were either fully donated and very discounted to our clients from the owners of the Berry Farm. Because of their big hearts and community involvement they are changing lives for the positive and contributing to local Charity's. The venue and location itself is beautiful and everything you could hope for in a wedding location. It's unfortunate that it's ran by people who feel the need to treat their paying brides and grooms more like annoyances than customers. It really doesn't seem like they know how to properly manage an event venue. The expectations they have of the events are unrealistic. They expect the guests not to drink, the DJ not to play music, and things to be left spotless. It's a WEDDING for goodness sakes! People are supposed to dance and have fun. You really shouldn't host weddings at your place if you're not prepared to deal with the things that come along with them. Guests will drink, people will want to dance to music, and things are going to get a little messy. The owners completely disregard the bride and grooms wishes on THEIR special day that they are paying for in order to do things according to their own agenda. Unless you are willing to be treated like a child, belittled, and told exactly how to run your own wedding, I suggest you look else where. Your wedding is supposed to be the most amazing day of your life and as stress free as possible. Don't add more stress to yourself and choose a different venue. read more

I have officiated a wedding at the Jacobs berry farm, beautiful location but unfortunately the owners/staff were highly unpleasant individuals. They frequently followed guests around like they were escorting inmates to and from a prison cell, even to the bathrooms where they would awkwardly be waiting outside for you to come out... They made it clear to everyone how much they disagreed with and despised the festivities at the reception. This was accomplished by openly making comments and even asking the guests absurd questions such as "Why do you feel the need to drink?" or "How can you stand smoking cigarettes?", as if this was all new and unheard of behavior at a wedding for them. They also chose to confide and bad mouth the wedding party with a much more judgmental tone to me personally, that is until they realized I only became ordained to officiate my friends wedding and was not an actual practicing minister. I found it quite humorous how much they distanced themselves from me after they had shared their criticisms about anything and everything even down to the choice of music being played, but then learned who I really was. If you and your friends are boring, bland, unexciting individuals, or maybe the church on Sundays, bible study on Monday, and youth group on Wednesdays type of person, you'll fit right in, the Jacobs berry farm will be a wonderful venue for your wedding! However if you want a normal wedding where everyone can cut loose, relax, and enjoy themselves without being looked down on and judged by uptight, out of touch with reality back woods farm people, who look to have had a touch of inbreeding sometime back in their family tree, look elsewhere. read more
