We made last-minute plans to do an early lunch. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between upscale and comfortable. The parking lot is larger than expected when you 1st pull up. The food was consistently well made. The pasta dish and pizza are clearly made with attention to detail. My uncle is on a low sodium diet so he specifically asked for non salted fries. Which they did no problem. The in house brick-oven pizzas have that ideal crisp crust with high-quality toppings. I got the "charcuterpie" never had anything like that before! Service is another standout. The staff (on the younger side) is attentive and polite and patient without hovering. As a first time diner, attending with people with intellectual disability, I would suggest planning. The environment and accessibility was somewhat difficult but there is a steel incline at the entrance if using a wheelchair. We were taken to be seated all the way in the corner. When it hit 6 pm, it was hard to get out due to the excessive amount of tables, and wheelchair was not accessible after. My table was given an automatic gratuity charge, with a table of 5, but the policy states "Parties of 6 or more subject to 20% gratuity. A 3% processing fee is applied to all credit card purchases." Overall the ambiance of the restaurant was good. The food was prepped nicely, my table ordered - Sodas, Caesar Salad, Bucatini Arrabiata with Chicken, shrimp scampi (GF), bucatini Delle Nonna, meatball trio, ravioli, and crab soup. 8/10 for taste, and presentation. I won't be coming back, but overall recommend just to try! If you are in the area. My server was pleasant overall too. read more

I don't make it out this way often but made the trek to visit some friends and enjoy dinner at Fiamata. I hear the area doesn't have much going for it in terms of cuisine so Fiamata is a welcome addition. The inside is huge and the menu is lengthy with mainly Italian-inspired dishes. I was happy to see gluten free pasta as an option, especially since so many of the pastas sounded incredible! I got the fettuccine mediterraneo with gluten free penne and vodka rose sauce. It was absolutely delicious with generous portions of seafood including perfectly cooked scallops. The pasta was a little overcooked which is easy to do with gluten free pasta - I'd recommend cooking it for 3-5 min less for a more al dente noodle. We also shared a few appetizers including the mussels and the caprese. The mussels were pretty good but the star of the show was that caprese. It tasted so fresh, bright, and flavorful. So good! The wine selection is pretty good too and they have a full bar. I'd definitely return in the future. read more

We chose Fiamata after passing by the location for months while they prepared for the opening. Italian is an easy sell for us, so we called to make reservations for our Anniversary dinner. I did NOT read the Yelp reviews throughly (I should have) where someone noted two important facts that proved true - the dining room was chilly, and it's loud. Don't expect any semblance of romance. It's a borderline party in there. Not a complaint, but not everyone's vibe for a Saturday night dinner so it's important to note. Our waitress was great. We also had staff check in frequently, understanding our waitress was running around a lot and was delayed. That was nice. Bread arrived quickly, as did our appetizer, starter salads and entrees. All delivered separately, allowing us enough time to enjoy each course - love that! The calamari was standard - nice, hot and crispy, and came with the standard dips. Our drinks were just OK. I should have ordered wine. Our salads were good. The spinach salad came with strawberries, feta, pecans and a berry vinaigrette. I would have loved goat cheese. I think the vinaigrette was made with raspberries, which I'm not fond of. I should have asked what KIND of berries were melded into the dressing. My husband LOVED his fettuccini mediterraneo. I tasted it, and I agreed. My chicken Rockefeller was disappointing. I did request a revision to the recipe because I didn't want the sambuca sauce (the waitress said it would have a black licorice taste) so she offered to sub the sambuca sauce for cream sauce. I should have asked for Alfredo, because the cream sauce, in addition to the two thin chicken breasts, were tasteless. The spinach infused in the pasta dish had all of the flavor, and the bacon was few and far between. I would not order this dish again, but would definitely return to order my husband's entree. No desserts - I was cold and a little disappointed in my entree so we decided to head home, but we would return. They have a decent sized bar area so I'd like to see if they offer happy hours. read more

Heard nothing but good things from family and friends but that did not live up to our team experience. The linguine and clams had no taste - not olive oil, butter, garlic, or white wine. The scallop risotto were browned but with no flavor to them and an overwhelming saffron taste. The shrimp scampi was disappointing and the chicken Parm had an odd red sauce. For the prices, we were expecting good food. We were pretty embarrassed to have picked this restaurant to bring our family to. But this was the day after Christmas so it's totally possible they did not have their good chef in (hence 3 stars instead of 2). read more

Our first visit was excellent. Service was great and the food (pizza, salad, appetizer, and chocolate cake) was tasty. On my second visit, there were problems galore. The main issue was how slow the kitchen was, but there were also mix ups with my friend's pasta and they forgot to bring out items. Our waitress was sweet and made things right by taking items off the bill. I appreciated that. I came a third time and it was better, though the kitchen was still a little slower than expected. What a gem of a restaurant! I drive past this place everyday on my way to work but only had the chance to explore it when my company hosted their holiday party here. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays and there is a separate room for private gatherings ( we had about 35 guests!) We had a smaller preselected menu but my chicken dish was delicious and was well portioned. I had plenty of left over to enjoy the next day too! Definitely can't wait to take my family here. Finally!!! A great place in the Burg! The food is the real star, Bucatini Arrabiata (actually spicy thank goodness, add shrimp & thank me later), arancini is fantastic, as is the Rollatini, and the pizza!!! Fig & Pig is the perfect blend of salty and sweet and Margherita is a classic. Other honorary mentions would be the mussels (both the red and wine sauce are great) as well as the fettuccine mediterraneo with red sauce. As for wine, the Aviary birds of prey red blend is a great pairing with anything on the menu. The staff are really friendly.I like the ambiance more in the bar than the dining room but likely a personal preference. I do wish they had their own version of an Italian salad and dressing like I find in little Italy and in-house desserts but can't have it all! Glad to see a new(er) restaurant in this area given the recent closures of Full Moon and Harryman House. Have dined in once and gotten take out twice since their opening. Food is wonderful and the updated decor is outstanding. I dropped a star due to slow service. And on our dine in visit, we had an inexperienced server who really struggled. I have sympathy for that but no one else helped her even though the restaurant was not full and we saw plenty of staff just standing around. Left a bad impression. This is nothing they can help but that location is a nightmare with the traffic pattern. As much as I love the food, I often skip ordering just to avoid the hassle. read more

We've been there a total of three times. The first two were amazing, especially the food and the Uptown Manhattan drink. However last night was a totally different story. We made reservations to sit at the bar. When we got there we registered with the hostess and waited for two seats at the bar to be vacant. Another couple walked in and the hostess told them we were ahead as we had a reservation. They ignored her and pushed in front of us taking the next two seats. The bar manager (who we loved and overtipped on our first visit). Allowed the couple to sit and didn't say anything. She obviously knew them. We told the hostess that it wasn't right that the other couple jumped in front of us and she said she told them they had to wait. At the bar two additional seats opened up and we went to be seated after the hostess told us. My husband had to ask the other couple why they jumped in front of us. Then the bar manager inserted herself into the conversation and said that she isn't going to allow this at her bar. It isn't her bar number one and nobody asked her number two. The situation escalated and she ended up asking us to leave. We did nothing. We were the people who were dumped on by the other couple. The bar manager was unprofessional and didn't know how to diffuse the situation. She lost two good customers. I also felt that there may have been some sort of racism involved. All the bar manager needed to do was say she was sorry for the misunderstanding. Clearly everybody was able to find a seat. It still wasn't right that she allowed a couple without reservations to sit before us. Instead, she ended up yelling at us asking us to leave and clearly didn't know how to do her job and provide good customer service. Everyone could've had a nice time and good food. The board manager also said that they never hold seats at the bar. If that's true, why were we able to make a reservation. Very very disappointed and not going back there again. read more

Our party of 4 totally enjoyed a delicious dinner at Fiamata last evening! We had reservations for 6 and were seated immediately upon our arrival, our server was pleasant, courteous , and very friendly! Our drink order was a little slow, but the bartender was really busy, so no big deal. After taking our orders, our salads and entrees, Shrimp Scampi, Lobster Ravioli and Rollatini delivered promptly, hot, and delicious!! A completely enjoyable dinner! My only "complaint " it was very "loud" to the point it was almost hard to have any meal talk. Not because the crowd was loud, we all felt it was the acoustics! They need to do something to absorb the noise. Will we go back, absolutely, do we recommend Fiamata for dinner, absolutely! Our next visit, let's try lunch! read more

First visit by four hungry octogenarians! Impressive menu. Excellent wines and cocktails. Delicious bread with sun-dried tomato dipping sauce. Wonderful food, well prepared. Ben, our server, was beyond compare. He had a comprehensive knowledge of the menu and specials, anticipated needs, and kept us happy throughout our evening. He provided a wonderful server experience, gratefully accepted by our group of older persons who needed some repetition of menu item details, etc.! The restaurant is stylishly modern with nice, substantial tables and chairs. All surfaces (floor, walls, ceiling, furniture) are hard, and so the noise level was occasionally over the top, especially for our foursome of older hearing-impaired persons. We had a lovely lunch today. It was our first time at Fiamata, and we'll definitely be back. Fiamata is clearly family friendly (they were so sweet with our baby), but also would make a nice date night. My wife and I went there last night for the first time, as this business just recently opened up occupying the location that used to be Belisimo's. It has been completely rehabbed inside and out, and gives off a much more 'upscale' vibe now compared to Belisimo's more "neighborhood hangout" atmosphere. We were seated promptly by the hostess although it was clear they're still new to the job and trying to work out their "flow",for lack of a better word. Our server was great, while sadly I can't recall her name she let us know about the specials, was happy to make recommendations, and was just attentive enough without being too much so. She didn't even judge us for our double desserts! We got the Zuppa di Mussels for an appetizer which was really good (served with crustini that we typically use to soak up the sauce in such a dish, although we did have to ask for more than the 3 pieces that came with the dish), and my wife got the Salmon Gambino and I went with the Rollatini. Both dishes came out hot - something that lately isn't always a given at restaurants lately, for whatever reason - and were delicious. The Salmon in particular was absolutely fantastic, very flavorful! I indulged in one of their custom cocktails, the "In the Lime of Fire" drink, which was also very tasty but a little on the small side (not the glass, it was served in a standard rocks glass, it just seemed like after 4 or 5 sips it was gone). For dessert, we went with the trio gelato and they were all three very tasty and creamy, and got a slice of their chocolate mousse cake to go (will be eating later today). The bill was I believe $123, but would have been $119 if we opted to pay for cash. I realize some places are doing this now in order to shift the cost of the CC transaction to the customer, so figured I'd mention it here since it isn't super common and others may wish to know about this upfront. All in all, we're positive we'll be back. There were at least 3 other things on the menu we wanted to try and it was as enjoyable a dining experience as we've had, on par with our other top 3 favorite restaurants in general area. It's not cheap, but it's not exorbitant either, and overall I'd say the prices are in line with the general look, feel, and experience of establishment. I guess our only complaint would be that for a table of two, the table was a large square (not rectangular) and we felt like there was a lot of 'real estate' between us. Not quite as close and personal as we prefer to be on date night, but most certainly not a dealer breaker either. Definitely recommended! read more

We stopped at Fiamata on our way home from a concert in DC so it was latish, 7:30. First impression was much more bar atmosphere than fine dining. TVs everywhere, lots of high tops, noisy. We were seated in a booth which was cozy and quieter so that was a plus. Ordered cocktails and started studying the menu. Placed an order for apps and entrees and wine. Another plus, half price/bottle wine night. Apps came and were disappointing. Caesar salad made with iceberg and gross dressing. An eggplant caprese tower with cold, crunchy eggplant. We had just started on the apps when they shoved the entrees on the table. Three orders of the filet special and my order of chicken parm. Filets were tiny and undercooked on a massive mound of mashed potatoes The chicken was dried out and tasteless served on a mountain of spaghetti doused in mystery sauce. It would have all gone back except, kitchen lights went out at 9:00 so no hope for getting the meals rectified. $400 later all we had to show was a bad taste in our mouth and the conviction that we would never return. read more

We were in town from Kansas City to visit family and friends. Used to live in Westminster and heard about this new restaurant. Very impressed with everything. Food was delicious and signature cocktails were great. The tiramisu was amazing. Atmosphere and service were also top drawer. If we still lived in Westminster this would be a regular spot for us. We'd give our first experience at Fiamata a solid B+. The food was very good and fairly priced for what we got - filetto fiamata risotto and the fettuccini Mediterraneo with Parmesan cream sauce. We shared a tiramisu that was also quite good. The uptown manhattan was a well made drink, although the sangria tasted more like juice or kool-aid. We were seated in the same room as the bar, which had nice soft lighting, but the giant flat screen TV's everywhere took away from the experience for me. It felt more like a sports bar and less like the fine dining experience we were hoping for on date night. It was also a bit loud for our taste. The service was decent, but it was warm in the restaurant and the water brought to the table did not come with ice. Overall, it's a good place to eat and we're happy it's come to Finksburg!
