Exactly what I was looking for. I was in search of a pub atmosphere to watch the Patriot's game with locals and Fibber's was great! I sat at the bar to leave tables open for larger parties, and received great service from the bartender. During the game they offered a $.39 wings special. Yes, 39 CENTS WINGS! There are several sauce flavors to choose from, but taking the bartender's advice, I chose the Korean BBQ which was a great blend of sweet & spicy with minced fresh ginger. I ordered the minimum order of 6, but between you and me, could've eaten a ton more! Unfortunately, I was only able to stay for the first half of the game. There are at least 7 screens available for your viewing pleasure. I will go back the next time I'm in town and looking for some NFL action. GO PATS! I'll start by saying I've worked in restaurants (serving, bar tending and hostessing) for 4 years. I've gone here probably 10 times or so, always during the week around 7pm after I get out of work. The place is always pretty busy, which is awesome for them and usually a good sign the place is good! Whenever I go though I have to prepare myself for the experience. Once seated and we have our food the place deserves 4-5 stars, but it's every moment leading up to that that brings its down to a 1 star. There's never a host (that I've been successfully able to see) and no sign that says "please wait to be seated" or "seat yourself". So my boyfriend and I usually try to sit at the bar to avoid messing up any seating rotation the servers may have. Trying to get a drink, menus, and / or food is like pulling teeth. Sometimes the bar tender is friendly, sometimes they aren't. The servers that take the high tops and tables around the bar are never friendly and act as if we are a nuisance to them. Last night was the first time I had gone on a weekend night and was the last straw when myself and 3 friends went in at 10:15, they close at 1am but we didn't know the kitchen closed at 11pm. Having been a server I knew this was cutting it close. We were given menus while waiting for a table to be cleared off and I told my friends to pick out what they want now before we sit so we can get our food (just a couple of apps) in right away. A group of people slid in before the table was cleaned and took our table. Not the restaurants fault, it happens, people are assholes sometimes. But another table was opening up, and I could see the host and a server talking and looking at us and looking that the people that had just taken our table. So I walked up and said "don't worry about it, if it's easier we can just take that table instead?" The server rolled her eyes at me and walked away and the host rudely said "well I'm going to have to clean it either way so" and walked away. I said after her "just trying to make it easier for you I'm sorry!" We sat, the host, server, and what I'm assuming was a manager all came over and helped clean the table while making rude comments at us such as "well are you going to pass me that cup down there" and "was is you that left this mess here?". Finally we got our food and drinks, never got asked if we wanted another round (at this point, no we didn't. We just wanted to leave even though we had planned on getting a couple rounds. After all, it's just now 11:30pm and they close at 1am). The food was very good as always and the drinks were good as well. Overall 2 stars for poor management and rude staff, but the food makes up for it. The bouncer last nights was also very nice and was more helpful than the hostess. If you're looking for good food I recommend this place, however, if you're looking for good service, don't waste your time. read more

Realized this place doesn't get many reviews, not sure why. Basically, this place is exactly what the 3 star rating suggest "A-OK". Its an average pub with pretty average food. I think the service has definitely improved over the past year or two. I used to come here almost nightly when I lived within walking distance. Now I'm a short drive, and I don't go out as much anymore. But when anyone ever suggests coming here I never think twice. Of the two bartenders I know more than them just being a random bartender and me being a random chick sitting there - they are both great. New ownership looks promising. Fibbers has a decent beer selection and pretty good food. It is a great atmosphere to watch a game and eat. It is for sure a step up from typical bar food. We have eaten there a lot and I have liked everything but the nachos. Those were pretty plain and did not do much for me. Just moved to the area and though we'd stop by Fibber's for a couple drinks last Saturday.... and I'm glad we did. We hadn't heard good things about it but decided to check it out anyways. Whoever told us that it wasn't somewhere they'd like to go must have gone to the 'old' Fibber's. There was a live band that played the night we were there who was surprisingly good and the music selection while the band was on a break wasn't bad either. The waitress who got us our drinks was friendly and helpful and always around when we were ready for another drink. The bar staff seems really friendly too! Went to Fibbers last night with a couple girlfriends. Before going checked the website on whether reservations were needed or not. I also live down the street and walk by the establishment almost daily. Nothing is mentioned anywhere about reservations. So we go walk in, it's not crowded (a Thursday night during corona times. Not many people eating out. ) and right off the bat the wait staff is rude and noticeably agitated with our presence. They tell us they have one table left and begrudgingly seat us. A young lady comes, takes our drink orders and disappears. Comes back with our drinks about 10 minutes later (3 draft beers and a water) leaves them at the end of the table and says she can't pass them down and walks away. About 15 minutes after that they come back to us and ask if we are ready to put food orders in. Respond yes and she tells us we will have to wait because she has to make drinks for another table. You could just feel we were not welcome there. So while yes, they accommodated us without reservations, they were definitely not happy to do so and made it known. Thankfully the food was redeeming. The food was the best part of the experience. Otherwise it was very uncomfortable and we probably won't be returning to this establishment. I recommend they post on their website or outside the establishment somewhere that reservations are required. read more

Good beer selection and great homemade veggie burger! The ingredients didn't quite hold together -- as a home cook, I know this can be challenging -- but the flavors were there, yum! Crackers, Fishhill Tavern, Fibber McGee's...whatever you wanna call it, it's a pretty good bar with a nice look to the inside of it. However, it's expensive. There's no house Pabst Blue Ribbon here...at least not under the new moniker, Fibber McGee's. Never had the food, which is a shame because all bars should serve food till closing. Food and drink = not belligerent. The service is inconsistent. Some times, only a nod or look will do, other times, shouting and waving your hands aren't enough. Which leads to how crowded this bar gets...with college freshmen and the like. If you're looking for young meat, here's the place to quell your carnal appetites...it's just that the majority of the ham is pretty sour...and fat. Catch my drift? The juke box is very trendy as Dave Matthews and current prep-hop is the norm for a weekend eardrum. Depending on when you go, it is a very average bar. read more

I've been to Fibber's a few times great food and good atmosphere. I'm writing to say they went above and beyond hospitality when they found me on Facebook because I dropped two checks in front of their building. The checks were anniversary gifts from my parents and my in-laws. They held the checks there for me until I was able to come in and get them. They restored my faith in humanity! Been there quite a few times but this time was very dissapointed. It took forever to get our food,and it was overcooked. We brought some relatives with us and they couldn't believe a salad full of greens was 9.00!A few chicken tenders on top was another $7.00! won't be going back for a while.The only good thing was the Fish& chips. read more

Best place for wings, they have soooo many flavors, my favorite is the lemon garlic and kamikaze. The waitress are all awesome I always seem to go at the right time and never have to wait for a table. If you go Tuesday wings are 39 cents and if you go during a Pats game there 49 cents. read more

Ehhh I met up with friends at this place last weekend. They definitely earned points for not having a cover charge. I have never had the food here, but I found the place to be loud and full of college students and younger kids. Granted, I am not old by any means, but it was very crowded and at times I found myself being crowded in and not able to move by a bunch of drunk jocks. We came in on a Saturday at 6 and the place was packed, no surprise there. The service was a little slow but friendly and helpful. The servings were huge and my husband liked his food as served, which is not all that common. Ive been going here for a couple weeks now on a hole the place is a decent spot. The staff is mostly polite and quick. Id like to call out though a particular bar tender working this past tuesday night. A Bald man with tattoos I did not catch a name. Seamed like a decent gentleman as i sat with a group of friends celebrating wing night. We were seated at a table very close to the bar. I watched a group of 3 young men come in about half my age. They sat at a less than 1/4 filled bar on a side where it was completely vacant. What happened next disturbed me. They where clearly there for wings and ordered a plate and a cola. This bartender spoke to them like they where children and you could clearly tell he wished they would leave. He provided service but as soon as the men left he turned to the waitressed and bashed them openly loud enough for me to here. I don't appreciate his lack of professionalism read more

This place is always awesome! Best burgers and I can't wait to belly up to the bar and get my hands on one after work! To be clear...there is no "waiting list" at the bar. The bartenders try and watch out for people who have been waiting to sit because there are 2 sides to enter into the establishment, and they are trying to help out when they can. I think this is awesome and going above and beyond with the courtesy. Unlike those patrons who try rushing in front of you to steal the seat though they see you've been waiting. read more

I disagee with these reviews.....I think this is a GREAT Bar!! The atmosphere is very sports bar-ish with big 40' flat screens and sports (mainly Pats/Soxs) memorabilia scattered on the walls. When I went they had the soxs game on a few screens and the Pats game on the others. Of course the guys I was with LOVED that. The menu has normal bar food....wings, burgers, salads, sandwiches...ect. I thought the food was pretty good for a local bar. Overall, the drinks and food are moderately priced for a bar in the Northshore. As far as the staff goes- I didn't see any issues with the service or quality and I have been there on several occasions. I think this is a great bar to watch a game and have a few beers. Try it! I went here just for a few drinks with friends, so I can't comment on the food and it was my only time. But there were a lot of reviews on here about horrible service & I don't know if the bartenders changed, or got better, or what happened, but my experience was great. I got to the bar on a Friday night, arrived later than my friends - they already had drinks - but the bartender recognized I was a new face immediately and took my order... and throughout the few hours we were there, my friends and I continued to get good, consistent service. Came here with some friends to watch a Celtics playoff game and grab some grub and brews. The nachos were bland, basically just cheese on top of chips, and burnt. Had a real loud band blasting music during the game that forced my group to leave early because we couldn't enjoy the game or talk to each other.
