We were traveling from Virginia to Maine and stopped in Great Barrington for the night. After looking thru Yelp suggestions and reviews for places to eat dinner we decided on Fiddleheads and we were very glad we did. You can't miss the bright blue exterior as you drive down the road. There is more than ample parking. When you step in the door you will be greeted with looks of warm wood on the floors and walls. There is a nice bar area and the TV was on the football game. We were greeted promptly and seated quickly. I commented on the fireplace at the far end of the restaurant and was pleasantly surprised when we were seated in front of a nice comfortable real wood burning fireplace. The server quickly greeted us and took our drink orders. My husband decided on the clam strip dinner which came with 2 sides. He chose coleslaw and Mac and cheese. He described the clam strips as sweet and perfectly cooked. The coleslaw was creamy and not over vinegary and the Mac and cheese was delicious especially the crispy top. I had a Caesar salad with homemade Caesar dressing and shaved Parmesan. I added grilled chicken. It was perfect! The grilled chicken was moist the salad dressing was creamy and tasted exactly how you would imagine it should. We shared a warm apple caramel crumb cobbler a la mode for dessert. YUM!! Almost forgot the onion straw appetizer! Just order them! Not greasy, perfectly cooked, and delicious! Ambience was comfortable, food was great, service was prompt and friendly. We would go back.

Food was really good. We definitely will be back the next time we are in the area. The inside had a good vibe and a beautiful fireplace.

We stopped by because there was a big line at the place we were going to go to. It was delicious. I got a burger with bacon and onion straws. I would marry the onion straws. My husband got one of the best bowls of French onion soups we've ever eaten and solid fish tacos. Lots of food, huge excellent bloody marys. Eat here!!

What a wonderful restaurant! I had the pleasure of eating some of the recent specials from the…read moresummer menu and it was life changing! Our waiter was exemplary and could teach classes in the art. For an enormous table of 3 generations, including several teenage boys, we not only felt welcome and special, we also felt very, very well fed. The menu was extensive and loaded with fresh fruit, veggie, meat and seafood. I think our family ordered nearly everything and we raved about it all. I appreciate the sensitivity about food allergies and found many nut-free options. The zero proof menu was broad and the local beers were fantastic. The venue is beautiful and has a very nice outdoor space, deck area, bar area, and then restaurant seating inside. There is a subtle but effective soundproofing on the ceiling. There are 2 all-gender single stall bathrooms that are tidy and spacious. Overall, it was a fabulous experience and I can't wait to go back for the fall specials!

Since it was our first time we decided to try a little of everything. We had 3 apps to split, oysters, salad, duck special. We had the udon noodles with pork belly and pork special for entree. Desserts sounded amazing so we did one of each, crème brûlée and profiteroles. The glass crack on the brûlée was awesome, and super creamy cold and refreshing! If you are I. The area, give them a try, I know we will be back.

Heard good things about this spot and added it to our vacation plan. Our rental has a full kitchen…read moreso we grabbed three frozen pizzas and six frozen herb & chess chibatta. The bread will go home with us. The pizza is for dinner. Each pizza would probably serve one adult man and are absolutely delicious. Cooking instructions are on the wrap - put them right on the rack. Crispy crust has plenty of air pockets to keep it light with a good chew. The BBQ onion is sweet. The roasted garlic had a bunch of garlic scattered all over. Lots of cheese on both. The last pizza, roasted red pepper, will be for another day. They had about five pre-made frozen pizza options when we visited. If you prefer, call ahead and they will build one fresh to your liking for you to pick up and bake at home. The interior shopping area is small. By the register is a pastry display case with the most enormous stuffed croissants, scones, cookies and other sweet treats. Behind that is a display of fresh breads. On a rack by the door are bagged bread goods. Freezer and refrigerator cases are along the wall. If I lived around here I would without a doubt be a regular customer and try all their offerings. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Cozy seating area by the front door to enjoy your purchases on site. Big parking lot.

Peach and Ginger also a Double Chocolate muffin. Delicious. The down side was the very unprofessional attitude of the server behind the counter. We wanted fresh coffee and she actually lied to us about that, instead the coffee urn was mostly empty and not fresh. As for the Housatonic location we ordered some fabulous Almond Croissants and Baguette and San Francisco Bread loaf. Whoa delicious. The woman serving us was outstanding and her very professional attitude was a relief compared to their Pittsfield experience we had. Thank you!
