As far as coffee shops go, this one is a hidden gem. The overall feeling is very friendly and vibey, the wait staff is upbeat and sweet & the drinks and food are quite well done. I am an avid matcha latte drinker, and their blend is very good. The blend of matcha to oat milk is great, and there are rarely chunks of matcha floating around which is always a good sign. The only food I've had is the mushroom toast and let me tell you, it is divine. The tomato marmalade is very tasty and blended with the cheese spread it is great! The mushrooms on top of the baguette were plentiful which is very hard to find. Overall, love the vibes, love the service, and the food & drink is great!! read more

This place is perfect for studying. It is a huge space (3 different rooms) with varied sizes of tables for seating. First hour and a half of parking is free (a rare Nashville find)! The food and coffee is just unbeatable, they also serve some alcohol if you're in the mood! They have large seating for family brunches/lunches. Super reliable wifi and a decent amount of plugs for charging your devices. And they are quite friendly AND environmentally friendly, which is always admirable. This is the first place I ate at when I landed in Nashville and it was so good I had to come back a second time. When on vacation I typically don't like to go to restaurants more than once of course to just try different things but I was certain whatever I ordered the second time would be just as good and it was even better! I would recommend this place to anybody in the area. You order at the counter and the food is later brought to your table. The first time I went I ordered the "Meat & Three" with the country ham option and it was so good. Just simple breakfast items but cooked perfect. Popped in for a quick lunch today- they have bfast all day!! We got the avocado toast, breakfast burrito and a large iced coffee ($28). The Avo toast was ok- a smear of avocado, a big piece of burrata, and an abundance of tomatoes and grapes. There was also a spicy sauce drizzled generously. Came here with a group of 10 for breakfast and the ordering process was so inefficient. We all had to place our order so we had the same number but then we all had to wait for everyone to order and then all pay separately but they kept us at one cashier for this. It took more time and the bill being split up ended up incorrect which was frustrating. One persons food was missing. I got the box biscuit and grits. The grits were really good but my biscuit was not cooked all the way through so I was unable to eat the Sandwich- it was still very good just had to eat with fork and biscuit was crumbly. There was a slight line early afternoon. I just got a HUGE Bongo Bakery snickerdoodle cookie and the local latte. Before leaving Nashville and making our way to our next stop on our cross country road trip, my friend and I stopped at Fido for breakfast. We must have timed it perfectly because when we arrived there was no line to order food. However, when we left, there was a line out the door just to place your order. They have plenty of tables but you order at the counter before finding a seat. They give you a pager and then bring your food to your table. Our food came out fast and we both enjoyed our dishes. As a writer, I am always on the hunt for a cafe that has a good atmosphere, strong coffee, and nourishing food, and Fido takes the cake! I am obsessed with Fido. I wish I could transport this lovely coffee shop/restaurant to every city. Half of the building is held up by a brick wall while the other half is lined with a collection of artwork from a local artist. Every few months the artwork changes, and I love seeing what new pieces will be hanging on the wall. Fido is all about the arts and I love them for that. Growing up in Nashville, Fido was one of the few places that embraced the opposite of what Southern means. The employees are always rocking out in tattoos, colored hair, and tight black clothes. There is no Vera Bradley, pearl earrings, or french manicured nails working here, and I love Fido for embracing the unique and varied. Now don't get me wrong, pearl earring wearing, Vera Bradley lovers still dine here, but Fido celebrates all styles, and treats each customer with equal care. For this alone, I love them. Plus, nobody can resist their food! The menu is focused on healthy options obtained from local farmers. It is also totally dog friendly, an LA person's dream. If you choose to eat here, you will always come across someone having a meal at one of the outside tables with their pup. Fido is also one of the few places I feel 100 percent okay to dine alone and many times I have, bringing my laptop and snacking on a toasted bagel as I write. They have a great coffee selection, free refills, and scrumptious homemade muffins and cakes if that's your thing. Of course, I always go for the breakfast items. The huevos rancheros are incredible. I adore their veggie scrambled eggs with buttered whole what toast and salsa, and their oatmeal with walnuts and berries is satisfying too. When I'm not feeling breakfast, which is rare, their veggie burger and grass-fed beef burger are great and not too heavy. Dinning at Fido means walking into a space where art is celebrated and all people are welcome. Dinners come to sip coffee and read the newspaper, have lunch with a friend, or brunch with their in-laws. It's the place to be in Nashville. In fact, it has gotten so popular you are guaranteed to see a celebrity when you go. Johnny Deep has actually frequented here because this place is fabulous and pretty much deserves an award. She was totally silent. So then I asked if there would be a refund or anything she could do, assuming they wouldn't re-deliver it (which I learned yesterday is not an option). She said, "sure." So then I asked what the process would be and she said "it's through grubhub so it will take a few days." I then asked what I can do in the future to avoid having bacon added to a menu item that it doesn't come with (and costs $3 to add) and she said to ask for no meat always. So - good to know. No apology and barely helpful. I worked in restaurants half my life. I understand that it isn't her fault that the kitchen added bacon. We came here on a Saturday around noon for a bite to eat and some coffee and were not disappointed! The line was so long is wrapped around by the bathrooms, but it moved quickly. They had ample staffing and were working like machines to get orders in, coffee and food made and tables cleaned off. Seating here is open and there's more than enough of it. We ordered a Cuban, the Chilaquiles and two lattes. The food came out quickly, the portions were generous and the food was fresh and flavorful. Let me say first that this is my first time to Nashville! This place had terrific food and very friendly staff! I ordered the Village Scramble and added Local Sausage. At first I was surprised because the sausage came out in a patty shape and looked dry but it was really delicious. Fido is a cool local spot in Hillsboro Village which was converted from a pet shop to a cafe (hence the name Fido). I'm not sure why my feelings about Fido are lukewarm compared to everyone's rave reviews. Perhaps my feelings are my fault for ordering just a latte and a salad which were just "okay" but nothing that I would feel excited about to get again. Their menu does have a lot of options and they have some nice looking specialty coffee drinks. They serve breakfast all day (a bonus for me) and Fido is definitely a hip hang-out spot for both Vanderbilt and Belmont students, locals and tourists. Overall, a fine choice for coffee or a meal. The buttermilk pancakes were the best, even if they were a little dry in a way that syrup never could quite cure. I can't explain it, but they were. But that didn't stop them from being sweet. Combined with the whipped cream it was nirvana. I will never eat another pancake in my life without remembering this one. The rest of the food was good to ok but I am pretty positive I will only ever order pancakes here from now on (and other breakfast stuff as that was the best). They also sell beer, which is pretty unique in my experience. They are also associated with Bongos (like the one I ate at in the Omni) so their hot chocolate was the same - just ok. But seriously go try the pancakes. Just do it. I ended up getting to try Nicoletto's Pasta + Pesto Cream and it was great. I added chicken to it for $5 but next time I could do without it. The pasta itself with the pesto is ok but once you add in the veggies it's divine. I try to divide the up so I get a veggie in each bite. If I could leave less than one star I would. I should have listened to the previous poor reviews. We travel a lot and like to eat at original restaurants. The reason we came was a menu on google stated they had sourdough French toast. Not so, as many menu items have been removed, leaving a very sparse menu.
