Service was great, but the food was awful. I will not be going back. My tostada was caked with about two inches of what tasted like two day old beans. I wouldn't even call the enchilada I had an enchilada. And the steak in my taco was so bland, I didn't even eat it. The food cooked here is not cooked with any heart. Tried it once and once was enough. It was for lunch. Not that busy. Service was not good but not extremely bad either. Food was awful. Best part was.... I ordered tacos. Steak tacos. Steak had no flavor along with the rest of the meal. It was beyond bland, it flat out had NO flavor. read more

Plate was steaming hot but the food was luke warm. The restaurant was clean but they need to do some upgrading of booth seats. The seat was cracked and torn and when you sat you actually seemed to sink into the cracks. Waitress was very nice. Would probably go back and give them a second chance. read more

Updated review: I visited this place a lot for lunch as it is near my workplace, and it has been pretty darn good. The burrito cho-chos are my personal favorite. The grilled chicken in them is delicious. The service is pretty prompt and friendly, at least at the table. A smile or two at the register might help. One note: don't let them bring you pop/soda from the bar. It's flat. Have them bring it from the rear dispenser. read more

Really good chicken chimichangas! Get the cup of white sauce it's delicious. All around this was a good dinner. The kids liked their tacos (rare thing) the salsa and chips were good and they drenched the rice in white cheese sauce. Did I mention the cheese sauce? Food was very mediocre, service very slow and inexperienced. Food order taken at least 1/2 hour after we arrived. Food arrived way more than a half hour later. No utensils when food arrived, should have been there before food. Margaritas were average. No reason to return. read more

We visited here the other night. The food was ok, but there are better restaurants. The margarita was flat. It tasted like lemon flavored ice. I've had bottled margarita taste better. Our bill was wrong. We were charged for something we didn't order. The waitress and host were discussing this (in Spanish) and I couldn't understand them. We have never had any problems with the service, even for carry out. We have a young child who can't sit still for long. The food is always, quick, hot and tasty. They have the best tacos and very tasty burritos. A must-have is the cheese dip appetizer. This is a creamy white cheese that is a bit spicy but fantastic on the warm chips!Great place!! read more

Maybe just was an off night for this usually good restaurant. I made a reservation a week in advance for a group of 8. After being seated, we waited about 10min to be told there weren't enough menus available for our group, yet. Another 5-10min past before we eventually received menus. The food, which is normally very good, was somewhat average. Not sure if they have a new chef or if was just because it was a busy Saturday night?? I've been here twice. Once with my boyfriend and once by myself. Both times I was waited on by the taller, thinner guy. He's nice and attentive. I have a queso obsession and the cheese dip here is better than Alvarez's. I've only ever gotten the taco salad but it's very good. The place is very festive and cute. We loved this place. Every time we were in Rockford this is where we ate. Not any more. They changed the chips (taste like cardboard) the salsa is so hot we couldn't even eat it. I got a combo platter that was supposed to be a burrito and a enchilada. I couldn't tell which was which. The burrito only had shredded chicken inside. No beans, rice or anything else that usually comes in a burrito. My sister had the nachos and the white cheese sauce was as thin as water and the bottom of the plate was full of it. It looked disgusting and didn't taste much better. We will be finding a new place to eat. read more

driving through the area, we were looking for a good mexican restaurant for lunch. we saw that this place seemed to be rocking for a wednesday afternoon, and gave it a try. the atmosphere itself is clean and colorful, but the service seemed a little off. my kids and husband walked in before i did. i was busy digging my purse out of the trunk of the car, and apparently, they could not wait to get their eat on. when i came into the restaurant, i looked into the dining area to see where my family was sitting. the host asked if he could help me, i told him i was looking for a guy who walked in with three kids, and he just stared me. he actually said nothing. just stared. it was super weird. i finally saw my family after a few tense moments of stare down by the host, and went and sat down. we all ordered, and got our food reasonably quick. the salsa was good. the chips were okay. our food? it was greasy and under seasoned. it was uneatable. it wasn't memorable either. the server seemed almost too busy to be attentive. we waited a long time for him to come back to our table. we didn't get any drink refills. the bathrooms were clean, but kind of jacked. you actually were directed to push a garbage can in front of one of the bathroom stalls in the ladies room to keep the stall door shut. i didn't really care because i had to pee and the bathroom was clean. the bill was a little steep, but not terribly. i will not remember this meal in a week, but at the time, it was just fine. read more

I have been to Fiesta Cancun a few times now. Twice to dine in and once to pick up. And all three times was not good for me. Dinning in, the service was horrible. And picking my food up was horrible. I had to ADD ingredients to my food when I got it home because what was supposed to be on it or in it was so scarce you could barely taste it! But you sure could taste the cilantro!! They drown the food in that! My food was ice cold and the Queso dip I ordered there had hair in it. That just topped it off right there. I have given this restaurant three tries, there will be NO more! Three strikes and their OUT!! And I WILL tell every one my experience from Fiesta Cancun. read more

I was heartbroken when Don Pablo's closed. I tend to prefer my Mexican food a bit "tex-mex". Although Fiesta Cancun is authentic... It appeals to my taste. A very decent alternative. We went on a Saturday afternoon - 1st time visit a couple weeks ago. I would rate food as average but service poor - - - the waiter came by our table one time to check to see if anyone needed a refill on bevg. -- he certainly is not helping overall sales . . . never asked if we cared for appetizer or dessert, coffee, etc. We asked for our bill . . . never came . . . asked a 2nd time and finally asked the manager . . . had to track all the way to the register.
