This restaurant just reminds you so much of your native country, and that home made chimol that you had at every carne asada party. Antojitos Honduran style tacos are really great, they're just the same length and width of a taco you'd get at Honduras (pretty BIG). There's no doubt that this place has "MADE IN HONDURAS" written all over it and that once a 'Pana' comes by he/she will feel like if Honduras is right here. Él amablemente me preguntó si quería agregarlo, pero teníamos ratito esperando, así que para no seguir aguantando la fila, le dije que no. Mi amiga ordenó carne de res, yuca frita y arroz; todo estaba bueno de sabor, solo que la cantidad de carne fue bien poquita en comparación a otros lugares y el precio. Is it chef and a pastry chef I tend to look for very basic Diner Staples . Unfortunately I was very excited for the bakery and let down by the bakery . We placed a pickup order yesterday, and unfortunately, it was a mess from start to finish: The Order: We were missing two baleadas, and the rest of the food was incorrect. The Quality: The tortillas were undercooked (doughy), and the meat was burnt to a crisp. It was genuinely inedible. The worst part, however, was the customer service. After initially being offered a refund via Zelle, the owner called us back and refused to honor it. He actually told us we would need to go dig the food out of the trash and bring it back if we wanted our money back. It's a "damn shame" to see a business treat people this way. We won't be back. Note: I'm uploading photos and video stills of the food now so others can see the quality for themselves. Save your money.

It was a late dinner at around 7:30pm and ordered 3 pollo con tajadas, i am told my owner that the food would be ready for pick up in 25 mins. We arrive 30 minutes later and decide to dine in and let them know that we placed a carry out but would dine in instead. We then are brought a drink and had to wait over an hour before simply walking out! Food was never served! We did see table after table table served but not us. The person then calls back and says we just finished cooking your meal which at that point it was too little too late. Moral of the story do not place an order thinking it will be the time they say,and expect the wait time to be much longer even for carry out orders. If you sit down you will not be acknowledged or updated on order. In terms of the ambience, it was a whole other beast. The place was super tacky, not a good representation of the Honduran people that I know! Place was tasteless that included a stage of some sort. I was confused on what exactly the place was. I have nothing to compare this to, but my friend was raised in Honduras, and she was so happy eating the food here, that I thought she was going to cry. The only caveat is they don't have a sign out front, or their own entrance, so you have to enter through the Red Iguana nightclub door and then go through the next set of doors on the right hand side. There are two other Honduran restaurants in Waukegan, but we haven't been to them yet, so I'm not sure which one is best. However, this was a really great introduction to Honduran food for me. Oh, and they also sell Honduran cheese, butter, and sour cream!
