I'm so 1000% grossed out. This is our 1st and last visit. We all ordered margaritas. A frozen watermelon, a cucumber marg and chamamango marg. The cuk marg had about 6 fruit flies the calhamamango tasted like mango tomato soup but the watermelon marg was okay. The food, we ordered cheese dip, a seafood chimichanga and Texana (3 meat) fajitas. The chimichanga was mid. The fajitas had shrimp and beef but they boy 3 pieces of chicken. The best part of the fajitas were the onions and peppers. The beans and rice both tasted microwaved and from 4 days ago. It was awful! And finally the service. Meh, let's go with if I can't say anything nice I shouldn't say anything. So we will leave that right there. The food runner/ bus person was a better server. And I foresee this business shutting down in 6 months. On a side note it was not busy at all. They should definitely spend some time cleaning! read more

My sister-in-law and I both really enjoy Mexican food. We have stopped here many times and I have stopped by myself several times whenever I'm in the area. I seem to always order the same thing. Chicken chimichanga plate with rice and beans. We're always seated immediately and are served tortilla chips and salsa right away. Their guacamole is made fresh and is delicious! This was honestly such a disappointing visit, and I won't be coming back. I was really hoping for a good meal, but everything fell flat the moment the food hit the table. My chimichanga had barely any flavor and tasted like it had been sitting around before being served. The sides were even worse as the rice was dry, and the beans tasted old, like they'd been reheated more than once. We each ordered margaritas, my mother's cucumber margarita had several flies in it and the server acted like it happened all the time. My chamango margarita tasted like tomato soup with chunks of mango in it. For the price, I expected something at least decent, but the whole meal felt low effort and thrown together. The service didn't help either, it was slow and unorganized even though the place wasn't busy. Overall, it just felt like no one cared about the food or the experience. This is one of the Mexican restaurants of all time. We went in and nobody was there. Like nobody? It was very strange. Than we got chips and salsa and the chips where stellar but the salsa tasted like the over processed salsa in lunch able nachos. We got our cheese dip and it was incredible. Some of the best I've had at any of these places. Than I got the chicken fajitas and they were also amazing. But I couldn't get over the weird salsa and lack of pepole. My dad took me here for lunch one day and it was amazing. We luckily came at lunch time and they had the perfect options for their lunch menu. We both got fajitas. He got chicken and I got steak, which did not disappoint. The meal came with rice and beans- although we had to ask for sour cream separate. (And cheese wasn't included- but that's okay it tasted amazing without the cheese). Chips and dips were even offered free of charge. We will def be back! read more

Stopped here for an early Cinco de Mayo dinner. We ordered a mango and a strawberry margarita to start, along with freshly made Guacamole and chips. I ordered the burrito/taco combo and my girlfriend ordered the queso smothered burrito. extremely delicious to say the least. The food and drinks were excellent. I normally do not drink unless I am out with family and friends. Usually I only drink one Margarita, I ordered one and had to have two because it was so flavorful, and tasted like a classic Margarita. The food, could not finish my cheese burrito because it was so big, with lot's of real cheese. The service was excellent, the waitresses smiled, and joked with us. Plus, they were responsible and seemed to be very dedicated to their profession. Also, I loved the murals, they were very well done, and we had a fun, and pleasurable time comparing them to others we have seen. Thank you employees of Dos Reales, it was a great send off for me as I am leaving soon to go home. (Only saying that because that's why I haven't dined here since I moved here) The wait staff were very efficient and timely and SWEET!!! The margs are so affordable and mouth watering DELICIOUS!! I take my family here every couple of months or so just because we really love their Chili Nuevo Mexico and this is the only place I know that has it. We were there last night and the food was good. They give you a good portion for the price. For the food thisi s what I recommend: The traditional stone ground Guacamole. It's not the best I've had, but it's really good, and they make it right there fresh when you order it. Chili Nuevo Mexico: W.O.W. This stuff is a heart attack waiting to happen, but it taste's so good. It's like a mix of cheese, beans, meat and peppers. I really don't know how to explain it, but it is really good! Enchiladas. I love their enchiladas. Especially the chicken ones. That being said, get the combination 13. a burrito, Chili Nuevo Mexico and an enchilada. You can't go wrong. The place is clean and well kept. It has a nice atmosphere. The murals are done to give it an old Mexico feel. If there is a spill or something isn't clean, they take care of it right away. so with all of that, why only 3 stars? The service. It happens every time we go here, and it is why we only go occasionally. You'll request something and it takes a long time to get it. There might be a long wait between visits from the wait staff. Orders get messed up. I asked for hot sauce and it took them 10 minutes to get it to me last night. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Rockford. Great ambiance, great staff, and great food. I always feel welcomed when I visit Dos and I've never left Unsatisfied. I think I've almost tried the entire menu without a single complaint! I highly recommend asking for their verde and diablo salsas! I will continue to go here and I will continue recommending it to friends. Their staff is unlike any other Mexican restaurant in town, they really make you feel at home. Best Tacos de Carne Asada I've had in town so far. At other places, the meat and/or the corn tortillas come out dry.
