We stopped here for lunch. It wasn't quite 11 but they said lunch was available. They immediately serve chips and green salsa. The salsa was good; however, the chips tasted old and had no salt on them. I ordered the shrimp tacos and my husband ordered a platter with chili relleno and beef enchilada. I also requested whole beans instead of refried beans. My shrimp tacos were delicious. And they were not skimpy with the shrimp. The rice was good after I added salt and hot sauce. The beans had absolutely no flavor. I added salt and hot sauce and black pepper and still I could not get them to taste good. My husband enjoyed his chili relleno, it was absolutely huge! The rice and refried beans were mediocre. I'm not sure about the enchilada because he brought it home. While the server was friendly, and the food came out quickly, we were never asked how our food was nor were we offered drink refills. Note: the enchilada had very little filling. Fiesta Mexicana is pretty much your run of the mill Mexican restaurant. The food was okay at best, though I will say the portions were generous, filling the entire plate. That is definitely a plus, but it is also pretty standard for authentic Mexican food. The seating arrangement left a bit to be desired. It felt rickety and was not very comfortable, which did not add much to the dining experience. The staff did the bare minimum, but they were polite, so no real complaints there. Would I eat here again? Probably. Would I go out of my way to do so? Probably not. It is decent for what it is, but nothing that stands out enough to make it a must visit. read more

This is a great place! All the food is seasoned right. Pretty busy on a Friday night so we sat at the bar. A waitress helped us get three seats together. We ordered some margaritas and then ordered a shrimp soup, the fajitas with shrimp, beef and chicken, and the trio fajitas. The flavors are all great. The veggies taste like they are char grilled first, then added to the fajita plate. The salad was carefully prepared so that nothing was wilted. The shrimp soup was great - the one shrimp with the head on was a little overcooked but the dozen plus other shrimp were perfect! Overall, this place is a winner and worth a drive to. They have a frozen drink machine that grinds ice and places it into a blender that has the drink ingredients. Pretty cool! read more

The server was super friendly and joked around with us. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, but it was practically empty when we went on a Tuesday at 7pm. It looks like your typical Mexican restaurant, nothing special. Now, let's talk about the food. I ordered chicken fajitas, and the portion was unusually large. I've had it here before and it was much smaller. My only complaint is that they were really stingy with the onions. My husband had his usual lengua burrito, but it was noticeably smaller than usual. He said it was skimpy on the meat too. We'll probably come back because our options out here aren't that great. read more

Disappointing take out on February 2, 2026. Shrimp in my dry enchilada (very little sauce) was way overcooked and tough, my daughter's creamy enchilada was NOT and in fact was quite dry, the refried beans barely had any cheese on them, chips were hard, thick and cold, the red salsa was way too hot, soup had tough gristle and fat on the beef chunks. The rice was good as well as the green sauce. Everything on thee menu was a la carte, un like the other Mexican restaurants we frequent and there was NO Kahlua at the bar, which looked disorganized and cluttered, and no bartender. We had to walk around and find someone to come to the bar. Very sad experience. We likely will NOT go back. :-( read more

Last night, the hubby and I ate at fiesta mexicana. The service was good, and the food came out very fast, within 5 min of ordering. The shredded beef was quite flavorful. The salsa they brought with the chips was very delicious, not too spicy. The ice tea I got tasted a little funky, not sure what brand they used or how they made it, but it had that weird stale old ice taste to it. Thankfully, we had enough cash to pay with cash as they charge a 3.5% transaction fee if you pay by credit or debit cards. Food is fresh when it comes out and the flavors are authentic and delicious! Fiesta mexicana is good for families, solo meals and large groups. Equipped with a full bar with a margarita menu and a large selection of various authentic Mexican dishes, it's bound to be a good time! In my opinion, Fiesta Mexicana is easily one of the top Mexican restaurants in Reno. They offer a wide variety of food/drinks options that are always full of flavor. While I usually indulge in chile rellenos or enchiladas, this time I stuck with a classic burrito. I have had two great experiences at this restaurant. Here's the deets: Atmosphere is casual and very Spanish rustic in design, like stepping into an authentic location straight from Mexico. Recommendations are given if you're not sure what your mood entails. While you eat, you're checked on and drinks refilled on request with no issues. Food - full of flavor from the chips and salsa brought at the start of the meal, to your entree, your tastebuds will be happy the entire time. I would consider this place just another below adequate mexican restaurant. Took awhile to even put in a drink order, and then that took a bit. The waiter said he'd be right with us but didn't, another lady took our order. It didn't look busy in there either. Our food came out almost suspiciously quick, which made sense because it really didn't taste fresh, neither did our chips and also that they give when you first sit down. It took awhile to get our check too. The food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't anything amazing. I prefer the other location if i'm being totally honest. There was also a family in there allowing their child run around in there, standing by our table and throwing around a ball. Normally I wouldn't mind, I get it! But this kid was probably 8 or or 9 years old and getting in the way of the staff as they were trying to walk by and do their job. I did overhear the mother mention that they had forgotten all their drinks and they had been waiting, even after receiving their food. My wife and came here for lunch about noon on a Friday. I have been here before with people from work but my wife has never been here. It is located in a small strip mall and from the outside looks much like any type of restaurant except for the name and some minor accoutrements. Upon entering it becomes very clear it is a mexican restaurant with the bright colors and tile. It was not too busy when we arrived and we were seated right away and provided menus and brought chips and salsa. We both thought the red salsa was very good but very spicey. We both asked for water and proceeded to checkout the menu. My wife decided to order the Chimichanga and I chose the Burrito Suizo. We commented to our server about the red salsa and she said it was too hot for her. Our meals were delivered quicker than anticipated and looked delicious. They were also much larger than expected.
