SpotLight~ (Agua De Tamarindo While I Waited For My Take Out)

I have no idea how Fiesta Mexico got its name, but I can see why when I went inside. This colorful treasure in Ardsley has a lot of flair with popping orange walls and a welcoming Aztec Sun Stone painting. But the Frida Kahlo painting closed the deal. (Actually... Shrimp Tacos did) Fiesta has a loyal following for their traditional dishes like tacos, burritos, fajitas, enchiladas, chiles relleno (plus more). I don't recall how adventurous their menu is and whether or not these folks offer Lengua, Lamb, etc- but the menu is mostly standard protein offerings featuring seafood, chicken, beef and pork. Although most of the meals are made with meat, I'm sure some dishes can be served as Vegan. And by the way- there's a Vegetarian menu. It was a take out evening and decided on Agua de Tamarindo while I waited for my meal. FYI- Fiesta doesn't have Shrimp Tacos listed- and mine were made to order. Muchisimas Gracias!!! Service was so, so friendly with a smile every time. Damage? Total bill $23 and change for my two items (w/ a tip on the side). But $17.95 for the 3 Shrimp Tacos-rice-frijole meal (I skipped the frijoles) then divide that in 3- was more than I wanted to spend per Taco. But to their defense, when I got home I noticed why. Because those suckers were freaking piled high with juicy and Garlicky Shrimp on 2-ply corn tortillas. Oh and I almost forgot... you get complimentary Chips & Salsa. The chips by the way- are the sturdy kind instead of the ones that crack in a gazillion pieces. These guys don't play around with taste. This was just good, honest food.

Awesome chilaquiles with chicken and rojo sauce. Fine salsa but served too cold. Service is okay even when I'm the only one there.

Very good, affordable Mexican food served by a friendly staff. Often difficult to find parking in small lot in front of the restaurant.

First time visiting and it definitely won't be my last! This restaurant has been around for about…read moresix years, and I'll admit I had previously dismissed it because it's located in an outer strip of stores where Harmon and Bed Bath & Beyond once were. I truly wish I hadn't--because I was thoroughly impressed with the food, the décor, the service, and the extensive menu. There are so many dishes I want to come back and try. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant impressed us with its vibrant, themed décor and incredibly friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Warm tortilla chips with chunky salsa and glasses of water were brought to our table immediately after we sat down, which was a great start. They have a full-service bar, and while they don't offer frozen cocktails, we honestly didn't miss them. I had a coconut margarita, and my husband enjoyed a passionfruit rum cocktail. He doesn't drink tequila, so I asked if rum could be substituted, and they were more than happy to accommodate. He chose a Tajín rim, while I opted for sugar instead of salt. Both drinks were strong, flavorful, and served in really nice, heavy margarita glasses. We both chose specials from the House Special Grill, and wow--what a great decision. My husband had the skirt steak and jumbo shrimp, served with a creamy corn salsa, and he loved every bite. I ordered the grilled steak with sautéed onions, homemade tortillas, cactus pad (nopales), rice, and beans. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and perfectly prepared. We ended the night on a high note with dessert--one of the best flans I've ever had--paired with a glass of hot Mexican coffee. Absolutely delicious. Amazing food, great drinks, welcoming service, and a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend!

The food is top quality and service is excellent. the restaurant is also quite well decorated for such a miniscule place. The only caveat keeping this review from being five stars is the price. Mexican fare is known for being hearty, large portioned and affordable and having now patronized this establishment twice, I can say it is two of the three. The lofty price tag will unfortunately keep me from becoming a regular. Still, it is a nice treat once in a blue moon. Good show, overall. Fare: 5/5 Price: $$$

We arrived around 5:15pm and were seated right away. We ordered the Beer Battered Fish Tacos, Chicken Mango Tacos, and Chicken Empanada. The Fish Tacos were the star of the show, but everything was sooo good. For drinks, we got a Mango Margarita, Passion Fruit Margarita, Mango Mojito, and Strawberry Mojito. The Margaretas were strong but still delicious, and the Mojitos were not as strong but also delicious. They have a variety of flavors for both drinks, though they were out of the Peach and Cucumber flavors. There were multiple servers helping out, so there was always someone nearby when we needed something. My only negative is that we were sat right under a speaker, and the music was loud enough that I had to shout to be heard, but the music was very groovy so I didn't mind all too much.

Nothing tasted repetitive, which we really appreciated. The service was great from start to finish--friendly, attentive, and quick without feeling rushed. Solid spot for tacos if you want variety and good flavors. Would definitely come back.
