Abel's a great barber! I've been using him for about 8-12+ years now I can't really remember how long actually but it's been a while. I'm from Yorba Linda and I used to drive to Westminster to get a haircut but found his shop which is 1/2 way closer but a lot easier to get here w/ traffic. He's a good person too and easy to talk to. His shop gets pretty busy but they have about 6 barbers from what I can tell upstairs & downstairs. If you do make your appointment w/ Abel he's good on timing and will keep your appointment pretty precise. There's plenty of places around here to shop and get some food as well. This place always does a great job keeping my hair looking clean and professional. I've had my hair cut by several different barbers here and never had a bad cut, but I've been seeing Sal regularly and he always does a great job. I've experimented with different styles, from pomps and hard parts to slick-backs with drop fades, and though I've liked some styles more than others, Sal is always up to the challenge and gives me great suggestions along the way. Recently, I tried taking my "little" to a children's hair salon a ways away, but we were a few minutes late and they completely refused to serve us - with bad attitude to spare. Why it's taken me this long to write a review, I don't know. I've been coming here for about 2 years now and Abel has always taken care of me. During that time I've built a great friendship with him, nothing better than coming in, getting a consistently good cut and friendly conversation. I would recommend getting an appointment if your schedule is busy like mine, but I've walked in and had some of the other guys cut my hair and the quality is consistent across all the barbers I've had. I've been coming here for almost 15 years so I'll start off by saying I've loved this place. Super chill atmosphere and every barber I've come across is nice and respectful. I now live about 45 minutes away but I still always made the mission over when I needed a cut. Came in today and one of the open barbers took me to his chair and asked what I want. I said the same thing I've been getting for probably the last 2 years or so, an inch off the top and a taper on the sides and the back with the shortest part as a 3. Now I know I'm not the most well versed person when it comes to haircuts and maybe those aren't the exact specifications for the cut, but literally every time I have come in here and asked for this, there have been zero issues or even any confusion at all to what I was looking for. Maybe a follow up question but that's it. This barber tried to turn the conversation into an argument, when I was just asking questions about tapers since he was confused and said that the haircut was impossible. He then went on to say "I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about." when I was asking questions and trying to understand what he was saying. Honestly though, I just wanted a haircut. I'm one of the least picky people when it comes to how the haircut turns out. So after he said that I know nothing, I asked if he could just do a trim and he kicked me out of his chair and said to go find another barber. I was super confused considering I wasn't mad at all but clearly this guy was. I awkwardly walked to the front and another barber quickly got up and asked what happened. I didn't want to make any sort of scene so I just said it was a misunderstanding I guess. This barber then takes me to his chair, right next to the guy that just kicked me off. I told him I wanted an inch off the top and a taper on the sides and the back with the shortest part as a 3, exactly what I said to the other guy. The new barber looks at me and says, "I don't understand why that's so confusing, that's pretty simple." He cut my hair in probably 20 minutes, I tipped him well and I was out. It's actually sad that I'm writing this because this has always been the spot and I would always tell guys to try it out. Within the last 5 years or so, I started noticing barbers drinking while waiting for customers or have been super faded while cutting hair with bloodshot eyes. I could care less about any of that, but when I'm openly disrespected over confusion on a cut and then kicked out of a chair, I think it's gotta be the end of it. While I'd still might come back, considering it was just one of their barbers, I will probably try somewhere with a little more knowledge or suggestive feedback instead of someone trying to start an argument. read more

I've been here three times over the last year or so. The first time I came I had an excellent cut that looked clean and stylish. The guy who cut my hair was friendly and professional. However, the last few times I've gone, I've received cheap, fast haircuts that would look at home if I got them at a supercuts in a strip mall. This place calls itself a barber shop but I've noticed there are less barbers and more kids who are just want you in and out of the chair as quickly as possible. My son is 6 years old. He is very patient and has had MULTIPLE haircuts in his lifetime. He never moves, cries or anything. My dad was recommended here and since I work full time he volunteered to take him for me. My sons dad messaged exactly what to have done. "3&2 fade with an under cut all around. And THIS IS HOW THEY SENT MY SON HOME. Instead he got his hair butchered. He has wavy hair, and as a "professional" shouldn't they know that the shorter you cut the waiver and curlier it gets!!?!?! I know he's 6 but he still understands how he looks and he even knows it looks wrong. This is ridiculous. I wouldn't even bring him back to have them fix it for free. I'm being nice. Came in for a walk in not too long of a wait, but the dude who cut me I think he was drunk smh ‍. Dude really didn't seem to care about how he cut my hair LITERALLY. He brushed all my hair to the side and cut the tips and left my hair all brushed to the side the whole cut. My hair is so uneven. Long from one side and short asf on the other side. Decided to come here for a quick cut before work. I get my haircuts weekly, but my personal barber was out of town. I walked in feeling pretty stoked for a haircut. The entire experience wasn't that good. The barber didn't bother to introduce himself to me, so I never got his name. After he asked what I wanted done, he didn't try to converse at all. It was clear that I was new and didn't know much barber terminologies because I asked him what the difference was between a fade and a taper. Considering that I don't go out to a barber shop much, I forget that I have to include every little detail about what I want. I forgot to include that I wanted the sides going straight up rather than having a 2 going straight through. I looked like a fruit. Man, it was a bad hair day. That was my fault though, so I don't blame him. The barber didn't offer a lineup and didn't even blow dry my hair. I left with my hair still wet. I have been shaving my own head for a bit more than a year, and I thought it was about time to head somewhere for a straight razor shave and see how that makes the old chrome dome stand out. The guys at Fifty50 are great, and the little shop is a nice little guy's oasis in a strip mall. They have a couple of chairs, a few TVs on the wall, a pool table, and a dartboard in the very back. Since I could walk right in, I didn't check out the table or the board, but at least they are there as options. They are upgrading the TV service, so maybe the next time I go back they will have the Lakers channel, just in time for nation TV coverage of the playoffs (assuming they bake it). The shave was great. They do hot towels, lotion, hot lather, and a careful smooth shave. After the shave, it is another hot towel, some after shave, and a neck and shoulder massage. Lets be honest here, we can't walk into a spa and keep our man cards, and you can't get this type of service at Supercuts. spend a few bucks (not too many) and get some real barbering done on your dome. read more

This place is amazing! If it wasn't for me having long hair, I'd only come here for my cuts! I have a mohawk so I've been here a couple times to get my sides buzzed and cleaned up and Abel has done it both times and did an amazing job! It has been perfect each time, very clean lines and all evened out on the sides so i couldn't be happier :) The atmosphere is great and very casual, everyone that works here is super friendly, and they even have a pool table if there's a wait. I even told my boyfriend about this place, and we drove down together from LA just so he could get his hair cut here and he absolutely loved it. Located in the Bev Mo shooing center. Cool spot I just checked out today. They have a bad ass painting of a P51 on the wall! I didn't catch my barbers name but he was in the second chair. I like to go in, sit and just relax. Wasn't too loud or anything. Took his time but not too long and added some pomade after. Fade came out good, very pleased. Regular cut was only 16 bucks. Cheap compared to some places I used to go to that were on average 25 bucks. read more

My experience at 50/50 has declined over the years. I don't know if i can attribute that to my standards increasing or the quality of product at 50/50 decreasing, i think its the latter. There are a few quality barbers at this shop, notably AJ, Edgar and Jr. Unfortunately, the opposite is true as well. There are some really poor barbers at this shop who seem to be worried about quantity over quality. I would NOT recommend a walk in to come here. You run the risk of a poor cut that is rushed. I took a chance today and my cut took no more than 15 minutes!! I have long hair and was looking for a specific style, not a buzz cut either and it only took 15 damn minutes. This place is a chop shop. In the past i have always felt like i was getting a quality haircut that was worth more than $16, but this time...i don't even know if it was worth $16. The cut overall is about 2.5/5. Looks good from afar and at quick glance, but you can see the sloppiness if you look close. Also waits here can be painful during peak time. My suggestion if you really want to come here, look at reviews and make an appointment with a trustworthy barber. read more

One of my clients recommended this place to me. Being a business owner I know the importance of placing an appointment. They charge a higher fee which is understandable. Upon my arrival I was not greeted and was confused who my barber would be. I finally was approached and asked if I had an appointment, I said yes and they would be right with me. As the minutes pass, it is literally 42 minutes til I finally take a seat. Isn't the point of a reservation for prompt service? This is def where this establishment drops the ball. A simple I will be right with you would suffice. This gentleman with a ponytail helped me out. He did not tell me his name not made any attempt of a conversation. Right to the business right? Simple customer service skills is essential especially in this industry where the competition is tremendous. The hair cut alone was really nice! It's just too bad the lack of customer service prevented me from giving a better review. The service was so bad, I made my next appointment down the street. Go see Edgar....hands down best barber I've ever had. I walked into this place over a year ago and happened to get Edgar for my first cut. I haven't gone to another barber shop since. This place is a solid 30 minute drive from my house with no traffic and it's always been worth it. I'm picky about my hair and Edgar always comes through. He has never canceled on an appointment. I can text Edgar the day of and he will get back to you promptly. If you want better service don't be cheapass. If you walk in to this place you're going to gamble on waiting a long time and not getting the barber you want. For me time is money and the convenience of making an appointment is worth it. read more
