    Fried Chicken Sandwich

Solid Brunch Spot with Some Hits and One Miss cute, plant-filled patio vibe drew us in right away. It's got that relaxed PB charm, perfect for a casual weekend brunch. I went for the Crispy Pork Belly and Grits, and wow, the pork belly was absolutely perfect in my book: super juicy, incredibly flavorful, and that ideal fatty crispiness that makes it indulgent without being overwhelming. The grits were a totally new thing for me, and the first few bites were amazing--rich and tasty. But halfway through, the sauce started to feel a bit too heavy and salty for my taste (it was pretty drenched), so I didn't finish it all. I get that it might appeal to folks who love bold, savory flavors, though! My husband got the Crispy Chicken Sandwich, which he really enjoyed--crispy exterior, juicy inside, well-seasoned, and overall flavorful. Solid choice. We added a side of Thick Cut Bacon, and honestly, this was the only real disappointment. It wasn't thick at all, and the flavor came off like a weird experiment with clashing seasonings that just didn't work together. Skip this one. To end on a high note, we shared the Berry Sweet French Toast, and it was delicious--not overly sweet, just the right balance to hit the spot and leave us satisfied. Overall, a good experience with some standout dishes. Service was friendly, and the outdoor seating is lovely.

Love this place. Eva was our server and super sweet and attentive. Only thing is the bowl that the soup was in was super shallow so it got cold very fast, but the truffle potatoes are so good.

First time coming in here after a marathon we ran, though they did have a wait time due to the overall people that came in that day, IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT! I ordered the steak Benedict and boy the food was GREAT! The setting, the vibe was there! Only issue is the parking, if by any chance you come in like the day we came in, you'll have a hard time looking for a spot, but other than that, will totally comeback here!

They say these are "house potatoes" looks more like frozen bag potatoes. Sysco foods much.

Talked myself into walking by and trying some breakfast. Def a disappointment, trucker cafe style food. Only thing fresh were the eggs, hopefully not the cheapest eggs on the market but probably so. I had the American, it came with the thinnest bread ever, was supposed to be sourdough, they str8 lied, thinking cuz its white its sourdough, nahhhhh it wasnt. I dont like the no chicken sausage option, possible too pricey for them. I expected more but it def gives off that 'no one cares' feel. Cruise by Second Nature for some legit cooking ingredients.

Great cafe down the block from our AirBnB. Great outdoor vibe, delicious food, varied menu and nice staff. We had the breakfast sandwich with sausage, short rib Benedict, lemon ricotta pancakes and vegan crispy cauliflower with soy chorizo, vegan egg and hollandaise sauce. Breakfast potatoes were awesome.

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast a couple weeks ago and had a great time. We were sat right away which was super lucky for a Saturday morning. Our server was super nice and helpful. We both really enjoyed our meals and drinks. Love that the entire place is indoor/outdoor. Super cute vibe with all of the plants and unique furniture.

Had breakfast here with my mom and her dog, which worked out perfectly because the patio is super dog-friendly. We grabbed a table outside--it's such a cute setup. Even though it's totally open-air, the trees and plants make it feel kind of tucked away and cozy. I ordered the chipotle chilaquiles and WOW. So good. The sauce had just the right amount of kick, and the chips stayed crispy--not that sad, soggy mess you sometimes get. My mom got the Benedict and liked it too, but I definitely won that round. Also had a honey lavender latte and now I'm obsessed--wish I had one right now honestly.

Fig tree is a cute little restaurant. The food was okay, the potato's were dry and the eggs Benedict were good but nothing extraordinary. Our server was pretty bad, she kept forgetting about refilling our drinks and quite frankly, she wasn't very nice. The atmosphere It's really cute!

Cute and delicious brunch spot! Perfect to sit outside in the sun. My friend got the breakfast sandwich - the brioche bun was amazing. I got the veggie omelette, the goat cheese was a great addition. The gluten free toast was not my favorite, a bit too thin and crispy. The chai latte is a must! Service was quick and friendly. We'll be back!

Awesome service from both Jaime and Maggie. Very sweet and inviting. First time at Fig tree cafe for me. Came with my sister and cousin.

The main entrance is gorgeous. The giant fig tree is enormous. Our server, Mark, was on top of everything. We ordered the french toast/pancake sampler with lemon ricotta pancakes, lemon strawberry french toast, and berry sweet french toast. It was delicious, especially the lemon strawberry french toast. My husband loved the crispy pork belly & grits. Thank you Mark for the recommendation. We tried a traditional breakfast, as well as the short rib sandwich. Our food runner, Axel, was super nice as well. The manager, Eva, and hostess, Maggie were also very friendly. The restrooms were clean also. We will definitely come back on our next visit.

Wowwww. This was amazing. Every single item ordered was delicious. 100% would come back for the breakfast trio and try some more of these sweet pancakes and French toasts. Worth the sugar rush! Staff were friendly and service was quick. Vibe here is fantastic. Highly recommend.

Cute weekend brunch spot. Lots of outdoor seating and dog friendly. Staff has been top notch every time I've been here. The breakfast sushi, burrito and Benedict's are all solid choices. Tried the French toast sampler for the first time and the fig jam ricotta was perfection! Until next time!

Parking was straightforward with a small lot and plenty of paid street spots nearby. Dakotah took great care of us. She handled our group's quirky requests with total composure, checked in at all the right times, and even sent a couple of coworkers off with to-go refills. The food was outstanding. One of my coworkers ordered the Poke Bowl Surf Shack, and it looked as good as it tasted -- bright, fresh ingredients piled around a scoop of rice and a side of spicy mayo. Another went for the Surfer Breakfast Burrito, which came with black beans and a choice of salsas. I had the Oklahoma Onion Smash Burger with bacon, served with crispy fries and a cold Mexican Coke. Everything at the table landed well. Coffee was excellent, too. They also add a 5% hospitality fee to the bill, which seems to be a growing trend in San Diego. Overall, a great spot for brunch with friendly service, good vibes, and food that delivers. I'd happily come back.

It had a nice balance of coffee and milk, with the lavender not too strong. The sweetness was balanced well. I also munched on a cheeseburger, which I could only eat a little of it since it was quite heavy. I did eat a lot of the tater tots that came on the side, as they were deliciously seasoned and needed to be eaten while it was crispy. Last year around this time we peeked our head in to see the space, but didn't stay. Located upstairs, the venue is large and well-lit, with windows overlooking Pacific Beach and the boardwalk. When we arrived, we were greeted by a local patron at the bar. He noticed my 49ers hat and made a joke about keeping me and the owner away from each other, because he is also a Niners fan. Immediately loved the vibes. There were a decent amount of people there for it being Christmas Eve, but it was still pretty open. We were seated at a long high-top table for our group of 7, with one kid. The restaurant was all decorated for the holidays, and they had a pop-up situation with some fun themed drinks and even a giant inflatable igloo for people to play in! We ordered a variety of beverages, many from the "Tinsel & Tides" menu, including the Candied Cranberry Punch, Maple Smoked Old Fashioned, and Spiced Peartini. All of which were fun, and received positive feedback on taste. In addition to the holiday drinks, they have quite an extensive list of around 14 cocktails, and 2 mocktails. The cocktail prices range from $15 - $18, and even have fun little photos on the menu next to the description. They have a section of 6 specialty margaritas, over a dozen canned beverage options, and over 2 dozen beverages on draft. You can find an entire page of wine options. From bubbles, to rosé, to whites and reds. You can buy it by the glass or the bottle. Beyond drinks, there's a nice looking food menu. Mostly seafood and Asian inspired, the menu featured items such as crispy calamari, crab Rangoon dip, ahi tuna poke, ceviche, sashimi, and various sushi rolls. There are several soup and salad options, as well as a dozen or so entree options, and a half dozen side dishes such as fries, coleslaw, veggies, and mac & cheese. There's also a brunch menu, which is available Saturday & Sunday from 9am - 2pm, and includes some boozy drink options like a Bloody Mary and bottomless mimosas. There are around 8 entree options, and another 8 or so brunch themed sides. While we didn't get to try the food this time around, the menu looked good enough that we are planning to come back for a legit meal. There is an "Oyster and Martini Wednesday" from 3pm to close, where oysters are 50% off, and martinis are $10. We happened to be there on a Wednesday, however the deal wasn't applicable due to the holiday. Our server, Destiny, was friendly and helpful with info and drink recommendations. The vibes were great here, and everybody was very welcoming. This is definitely a place we'll be adding to the regular rotation during our trips to PB! IG: @bbnem.eats
