Cute little place, they are located in a food hall. We didn't get a chance to eat here because they didn't have much on their menu & we came right when they opened. We did however order their leche flan and melon refresher. Leche flan is really good, hands down probably the best ones I've tried, right amount of sweetness. Melon refresher was very refreshing, I wish they served the drink with a boba straw so the melon bits go up with it as you take a sip. Service was wonderful, he was very kind! Having had Filipino food more in the recent years, I was excited to have found this place. I got their Fiesta plate Pork Adobo Plate so I could try a bit of everything. The lumpia were pretty full and fried to perfection. Pancit noodles had lots of vegetables and chicken which I appreciated. Some pieces of the pork were more tender and fatty than others but lots of flavor. Cashier was also kind and patient while I placed my order. They had Beef Salpicao on the menu for the day and I had been craving it for some time. Now, I'm not familiar with Filipino food. I'm a Louisiana girl. I can't vouch for the authenticity of the flavor and such. But, it passed my vibe test. Give me some marinated meat and rice and I'm good. Now, I've had better tasting lumpia. I prefer the lumpia at Midland Farmer's Market on Saturday's. That's where it's at! Filberto's lumpia isn't bad. Maybe I'm just not a fan of the pork lumpia. All I think about is breakfast sausage when I eat the lumpia from Filberto's. The two ladies at the front were kind and nice. Service was quick. The menu prices are a bit steep. I paid $16.66 (ruh-roh) before tip and with no purchase of a drink. And I ordered the bowl option, which is the cheapest meal option below the combo and plate. There's plenty of seating area, but it does get loud and busy fairly quickly during lunch hours. There were a couple of flies, which was annoying. So personally I have been here twice but this second time was with my full fledged Filipino mother so part of this review, admittedly, is coming from her as well. I think this place is starting to become more inspired by rather than authentic. I am glad they offered some samples to try their food though. Bistek was quite salty and extremely chewy. If and when done right it should be savory but also easy to chew. Easy to say that the sample at least helped us steer clear of that. We did order sisig and longganisa. After just looking at the food picture used to advertise sisig (crunchy fried with odd looking sauce/gravy which by the way isn't authentic) it's not surprising my mom ended up going back to briefly question if we got the right order. The sisig is practically lifeless with with absolutely no crunch. Where's the color? The extra flavor? The crunch?? I want to give it a chance because maybe it's just a preference with catering to what works with the patrons in the area but honestly, where was the crunch?? Longganisa was good, that's honestly hard to mess up and the sosoan (sauce) was good. Washed down with regular calamansi juice which was also good. Recently visited my sister and her family who just moved to this area and wanted to find a place that serves AUTHENTIC Filipino food. To make a comparison - I believe Jollibee's (a Filipino fast food spot) food is actually a lot better than here - and that says a lot if you ask me. Well, here's my opinion on the food we ordered - we had the bbq chicken plate which included some lumpia, pancit, and white rice and the best part was the rice. The bbq chicken tasted like some marinade was brushed on it instead of the meat actually being marinated overnight (authentic way of cooking any Filipino bbq). The pancit was bland and lacked seasoning. The lumpia was okay (not the best I've ever had) but you can't really mess up frying some lumpia, lol. So if you've got a craving for some Filipino food, unfortunately, this place won't be able to satisfy that craving. read more

Had the BBQ chicken skewers and the marinade was not quite what it used to be. Seems like they changed their recipe, leaving an awful aftertaste. I hope they go back to the original recipe. I didn't mind that part too much, but if it's your first time eating Filipino food, don't plan on them being helpful at all. Once we got our food, every piece of meat was tough and not what we expected. The flavors seemed off as well and very underwhelming. I laugh at this because the Philippines is comprised of over 7,000 islands with Muslims, Indonesian, Spanish, Malaysian, Chinese, Japanese and American influences. So put into perspective 1 persons viewpoint of "authentic" and you'll discover, it's irrelevant. Filberto's is in fact authentic because they recreate their own families life experiences and food journey's through time with their cuisine each and every day. Not truly authentic Filipino cuisine. Was looking forward to trying this place out as we just moved here and was excited to find they had a Filipino spot here, but the food left a lot to be desired. Being Filipino, I have grown up eating these familiar foods. We ordered the chicken bbq plate and my mom ordered the pinakbet. The chicken bbq skewers were NOT bbq'd. They tasted like maybe pan cooked or boiled chicken with sweet and sour sauce brushed over it. The only authentic bbq skewers I'm used to eating truly taste like they are prepared over a grill and have been marinated in a soy sauce and vinegar marinade. These tasted nothing like that. Pancit and lumpia are okay but as I've made these before they are nothing special. I usually prepare the lumpia with ground chicken and they use ground pork. The pinakbet my mom had was served with just one squash and pork was not crispy and soup was not as tasty as the way she usually makes the dish (or how they show it in their Instagram photos). All in all we spent $50 here on our meals, and sadly it was a huge disappointment. Service was not too friendly or welcoming either. Will not be returning and hoping to find another Filipino or island food spot! read more
