Not only was it easy but the customer service was great. Dan was helping us. He was very knowledgeable, patient and pleasant to work with. She said the installation was very good. With it being a built it, it took time to remove the old refrigerator and install a new one. She said they were very careful, respectful and showed her how things worked. I needed to buy a new French door refrigerator and determined that the brand and model that I wanted was available at Filco for the best price I could find anywhere. I called and talked to Danill in sales, who was most helpful and always promptly responded to my inquiries. The refrigerator was back ordered, but when it arrived, it was delivered within the time frame that I specified. I live in an older mid-century house with narrow openings, and the delivery crew -- Jimmy and Alex -- did an amazing and difficult job of removing my old fridge and installing the new one with zero damage to the walls and floor, which was not an easy task by any means. They lie about everything. The salespeople give you their cell phone numbers and assure you they always answer their phone but never pick up and all their voicemails are always full. They won't put anything they promise on paper. They say they will email it to you. They don't. Several of them said they would email specks on a refrigerator we wanted. They never did. The first refrigerator the salesperson ordered was the wrong one. Luckily I caught it before it was delivered. We asked, what happens if you deliver the wrong one. They said that is your problem. I wish I had read the reviews on this company before I walked into their store. I purchased a refrigerator earlier this year and received terrible customer service. I would never recommend this place to buy appliances because once you purchase something and pay for it, they don't care about you again. I had never used them before, even though I understand they have been in business for a long time. Two months after I purchased a Bosch refrigerator (for over $3,000), the ice maker was not working so I called the salesperson at Filco who had sold it to me. Over 4 days I left him messages but he never returned my calls; I even left messages on the cell phone, that didn't work. When I finally called the store and asked for someone else, they passed me through to him - he thought I was a new customer, but when he heard my voice he was quite surprised, then proceeded to tell me he had been busy! When you call to report that your refrigerator is not working you would hope someone gets back to you right away. He eventually gave me the name of the appliance company that makes their repairs and a technician from that repair company came out and ended up ordering a new ice maker. A few months later the freezer was frosting up for no reason that I could see, so I had to call the store to ask for the name of the appliance repair company - I had misplaced their phone number. The person who answered said she wasn't sure who it was. I asked how they could not know the company they used for repairs, but got no response from her. When she finally came up with a name, I asked for the phone number but she didn't have that either. She finally looked it up somewhere, and provided it. This was incredulous to me that they would not be able to provide this information to customers. It's a frustrating feeling to not have any confidence in the company you purchase something from and have them either ignore your calls, or are incapable of providing information when you need help. Who uses a repair company and doesn't immediately have their name and phone number on hand? I will never go to this store to purchase an appliance again. If you want good customer service do NOT use Filco. I doubt they read these reviews or you would assume they would do better. read more

If there was a negative rating, I would definitely use it for Filco. This company is terrible and their customer service is nothing short of insulting. The cashier, Angie, acts like she is a deer in headlights and doesn't know anything about their return/exchange policies (even though she obviously knows everything about taking customer's money) and then Raymond: the WORST sales rep ever! He is condescending, unappreciative, and lies to customers. The appliance that we purchased was a lemon. It was purchased brand new, delivered, and didn't work. When we called and asked for an exchange he told us that No major distributor including Lowe's, Home Depot, or Best Buy would do anything after an appliance was delivered. I called each of the companies that he referenced and it was a complete mistruth. When I called and spoke to Raymond to figure out what needed to be done in order to get a new appliance, he quickly referred to the janky fine print on their invoice regarding special order items being non-refundable/non-exchangeable. On top of that, they spelled our last name wrong and were unable to even get the numbers correct for our street address on the invoice. Also, they didn't even call us to let us know that the appliance had arrived and was ready for delivery. We had to follow up with them? Wtf?! That was 5 months after we ordered it. When I pointed out the obvious truth of their willingness to take our money and then deliver us a lemon, his response was, "we are not in the business of selling fruit". Props for the witty comeback but, in the end, they have our money and we have a $3000 refrigerator that has never been used because it doesn't work they refuse to even try to help with a replacement or refund. I had to spend an hour on the phone with the manufacture, which was amazingly helpful and appalled by the treatment that we received from Filco. I bough a Whirlpool refrigerator Jan 2021 from David Neal, he sold me a 5year extended warranty. This year 2022 Sept. the refer. went out. I went to Filco to get it fix. I was told by the manger they discontinue that warranty CO. in 2020 and they couldn't do anything for me. Even though David Neal sold it to me in 2021. The manger Mrs. Martinez said even though David Neal sold it to me Filco wasn't responsible for the repair $480.18. I 've been buying appliance from Filco since the late 70ies. Bought a gas cooktop from Filco a few months ago for a kitchen remodel. Turn around times for our product were months out so we purchased the floor model to expidite. Once our money was paid, service came to a dead halt. Multiple phone calls were never returned. And once we were ready to finally install the stove top, it turns out we didn't receive all the parts. Called again to ask and never heard a thing back. Ever! They never once returned our calls to even find out what our problems were. Will NEVER use Filco again for anything. Never again. When I moved to Sacramento more than 20 years ago, I needed appliances for my new house and the realtor recommended this place. Back then--before online shopping was really a thing--this place made a lot of sense. They had huge inventory in stock and would offer good deals. I bought a fridge, washer, and dryer all at once and they gave me a sweet package price; loaded it all on a truck; delivered to my house and set it up. Same day. It was that original experience that had me coming back for more appliances over the coming years. But it has been a few years since I bought an appliance, and now I find myself asking why I didn't ask a few more questions this time; do a little more research; and not assume they were still good. My how things have changed. My dishwasher is on its last legs, so I figured I'd come get another one at Filco. I like the idea of supporting a locally-owned business...but not at any cost. You need to know that this place uses old school salesman types...like straight out of "Glengarry Glen Ross." So I start working with a salesman and as usual, he knows his stuff about the products. I really do appreciate that. Doesn't take me long to pick out a dishwasher and so we head to his desk to order it. He explains that due to the pandemic, there are delays on appliances right now, and the unit I want isn't in stock; but they have several already on order and they should be in within a couple of weeks longest. I'm not too concerned as my dishwasher still works. He says check back next week and he'll give me a better sense of timing. He's working off an ancient desktop PC; think DOS 3.1 or maybe Windows 95. He prints somewhere to a similarly antique network printer. He hands the hard copy order to me and I go to the front desk to make payment and they can--literally--rubber-stamp it as PAID. Wow. this point-of-sale system puts the POS in POS's... So here's what doesn't work for me...You see, to the good or the bad, the world has become a place of 24/7 digital information and support, and there are lots of companies out there doing it really well. So when I have to call during "normal" business hours to speak on the phone with my salesperson, it gets inconvenient quickly. Those are my normal business hours too. I tried a half-dozen times to call my salesperson. A couple of times, he wasn't working that day. A couple of other times, he was (allegedly) with customers. No voicemail offered. The receptionist (live person, but grouchy!) told me she'd have him call me back but he never calls. I finally got through to him, and he needed my order number. I have no idea. I have the paperwork somewhere, but I'm not sure where. I offer other information which they took down at time of purchase that usually works to look up customers at other retailers...my phone number? No. My name? God forbid. So he wants to know what model number I bought. Again, no idea. But I describe it to him and once we get to the price paid, he knows how to find me on their system. I go through all that and he tells me that it should be here in a couple of weeks; same answer as before...a couple of weeks ago. And...you guessed it...I should give him a call back then to check. Sigh. I see from other reviews that this is their archaic way of doing business. I can't check online; I can't email him; no one else can help me; and worst of all, it is on me to contact him for updates. Sorry, this is YOUR job. So the big day finally comes and my dishwasher arrives to their warehouse, 10 WEEKS after I ordered it. Filco doesn't do installs, but they connect me with a third party installer who I can arrange with to install the dishwasher and I'll pay them separately. Fine. The third party can even pick up the dishwasher from the warehouse on my behalf which is good. So I arrange a day with the installer to do the install and take the day off work. He calls that morning; says he's heading to the warehouse to pick up; be to you in an hour. About 45 mins go by and I get a call from him...he's at the warehouse but they gave my dishwasher to a different customer. And they are out of stock again. Again, as much as I like to support the Saca family here, I'm really wishing I would have used Costco or Amazon, where at least I know where my order is at any given time, and if they effed it up as much as Filco, they'd be doing something to make it right.
