Yikes! A lot of unhappy Yelp reviewers for sure. Most of the negative reviews seem to target the W/S online purchases. Which of course has nothing to do with this bricks and motor store. My experiences have always been positive. Located in the beautiful Pavilions Shopping area, Williams-Sonoma is a fun place to wander around and look at all the fun and interesting merchandise. Especially during any holiday season. Which is why I was there recently. Thanksgiving and Christmas table decorations were on full display. Beautiful dishes, candles, and all the accessories that make for a stand out setting with which to serve your family and guests in style. Along with the seasonal inventory, the usual suspects are always there too. Every type of high end coffee and espresso machine you did not know you need. Mixers, kitchen cooking pots, linens... the items are endless. Let us not forget the seasonal food items. Peppermint bark!!! Yum. I ended up buying the cutest snoopy coffee or tea cup as a gift. I also had my eye on a Nepresso electric frother. Santa... are you reading!?! Everything is laid out in an organized manner. Like things all together. Good lighting. No complaints. I was immediately greeted when I walked in. Customer service has always been first rate in all my visits. As it was that day. BTW: W/S will be moving from its long time current location to the front entrance of the Pavilions where Talbots used to be. Looking forward to that. Speaking of online ordering on the website... I have never had an issue. Every Christmas I online order their fabulous croissants as gifts. They are killer and people go crazy over them. They are delivered on dry ice. Bake them and serve hot. During checkout, I noticed the estimated delivery wasn't until July 6-8, 2026 - more than seven months away. I thought it was unusual, but I trusted the company and placed the order anyway. Fast forward to July 8, 2026. The promised delivery window had passed, and I still hadn't received any shipping notification. I called customer service expecting to find out where my order was. Instead, I was told that my order had been canceled sometime around March 2026. The shocking part? No one ever informed me. No email. No phone call. Nothing. I spent months waiting for a gift that Williams Sonoma had apparently decided I would never receive. The customer service representative, Carly, was courteous and professional, and I don't blame her personally. My frustration is directed at Williams Sonoma's policies and how this situation was handled. I was told the likely reason for the cancellation was that the purchase price didn't match the company's pricing history, suggesting there may have been a pricing error on the website. Yet my order had been accepted and confirmed back in December. Even today, the same mugs are still listed on the Williams Sonoma website. What disappointed me most wasn't that a mistake may have happened. Mistakes happen in every business. What disappointed me was the complete lack of accountability. After keeping me waiting for seven months without any notification, the response I received was essentially, "Sorry." There was no attempt to make things right - no effort to honor the order, no goodwill gesture, and no offer to expedite a replacement, even though the product is still available for sale. A company that truly values its customers could have shipped the mugs via next-day delivery or worked toward another reasonable solution. Customer service isn't just about saying "sorry." It's about taking ownership and making a genuine effort to fix the problem. Experiences like this leave customers wondering whether promotional offers are truly intended to be fulfilled or whether they're simply a way to generate orders and collect customer information before quietly canceling purchases months later. I've always loved Williams Sonoma and have purchased many small appliances there over the years -- Breville Touch, Breville Smart Oven, Le Creuset, and more. My husband and I visited the store today specifically looking for the Aarke electric kettle. While we didn't immediately find it, we spent time walking around the store. There were five employees working and only one other customer. Despite this, not a single employee acknowledged us or offered assistance. One employee stocking utensils even nearly hit us with a cart without saying anything. As we were leaving, I told my husband we'd be purchasing the kettle directly from the manufacturer instead -- and he knew exactly why. Only after I said out loud, "not a single person," did an employee finally ask if we needed help. At that point, we declined and left. Disappointing experience from a store I've otherwise been loyal to for years. Went in to purchase a few MacKenzie Childs pieces and the had only one large kettle in the whole store. The woman I worked with said they could order it and even ship it to my home, with NO mention of shipping charges. Well after she ordered items and said it would get to me in 3 days, 7 days later I finally got them and found out I paid shipping and handling. So now I paid unknowingly for 3 day shipping and didn't get it till 7 days later. So I call and talk to Greg who blames it all on the first woman and said she didn't explain it correctly, and oh he would've waived fees if it was him... and claims they charge shipping even if it's sent to the store, how does that make sense? I was initially hesitant to shop here after reading a few negative reviews about discrimination and customers being treated unfairly. As a minority wearing jean shorts and sandals, I wasn't sure what kind of service I'd receive. To my surprise, the experience was incredibly positive! One of the employees, Greig, was especially kind..running around the store to help me with a smile on his face. I felt genuinely welcomed. It's been awhile since I last shopped here for in store purchase many years ago. So, my kitchen aid motor finally went out after 19yrs of great use and yes I did purchase my mixer at this location. I went online to make sure the item that I wanted was in stock at this location ok so 2 shown available for pick up. I walked in and was greeted and asked If needed any help from Gabriel, yes please trying to locate the new mixer I wanted. Come to find out the mixer was out of stock and Gabriel did everything he could to search in stock and out on the floor for the mixer. Well, NONE available and he was very kind to help me and order it online and set up for delivery. Everything worked out and customer service was on top excellent! Why the 4stars is cause they did not update the website for available pick up in 2hrs. Come to find out the 2 available was 1-used for instore cooking demo and 1-used for display that they will not sell. All in all it was great walking back in to my favorite store just can't browse too long or my basket will be really full. will return again soon THANK YOU! read more

W/S used to a great store. I usually purchase on line do to I have their credit card and get free shipping. I mostly purchase their food items. They use to great! Not anymore! Always an issue. Things like the taste, really bad. The containers you cook the item in melts. The most recent the Bakers Joy Baking Spray. I used it once sprayed fine. Now wont spray and I tried everything to try to fix the sprayer. It's a full can. Be careful W/S you may being going out of business soon with you very bad products. read more

I orderd a Fall Wreath more than one month ago. Everytime I tracked it it was "getting ready to ship." After theee weeks I decided to cancel it because it was taking too long. Guess what? They can't! Or so they say. They say they have to ask the vendor to cancel it and if they don't I have to wait however long until it is delivered and take my own time and money to take it someplace to return it. Did an in-store pick up. Got there at 730'ish. They close at 8. Store was completely void of customers, I was the only one. Walked in with a black hoodie, jeans and Vans on. It was cold and had no need to dress up to look like i would "shop" at WS. Been here plenty of times so I went to the "line starts here" and saw an employee counting her cash drawer. Confused I asked if the store was still open and she said yes, and proceeded to count her drawer without asking if I needed assistance. Stood there for a bit, politely waiting for her to finish counting because I used to work in retail. Still, she didn't ask me if I needed assistance or anything of that sort. So I went to look around their cutting boards which I've been debating to purchase. I have a John Boos board in mind ( which retails at $233) but they didn't have what I wanted so I went back to the front. Stood in line again. This time there were about 4 employees at the registers. Only one acknowledged me while the others completely ignored me. One was ready to clock out, and was asking the other if she was ready as well. Sorry, y'all may work for WS but that's it. Don't be too snooty. I've worked in retail during this time of the year and have never ignored a customer when I'm almost off the clock. An employee came to assist me, she got me my item. We confirmed my order and I was on my way. The guy and those two girls at the end of closing shift tonight (11/30, the guy was heavier set, and one of the girls was a blonde carrying an LV DE neverfull (I know this bag because I have too) need better customer service. Not one of them bothered to ask if I had been helped or needed help. I could have been in and out of that store in 5 minutes! Or I could have spent more but given how I felt when I asked that employee the first time, I think I'll spend my money at Crate & Barrel next time. They had the same item. They have an exclusive stainless steel Mickey Mouse waffle iron that I wanted. Looks like it makes the waffles you get at Mickey's Breakfast at the resorts. If I ordered it online, I would not get it until around January 8th, yes I waited the last minute. I initially called and was put on hold for 10 minutes and I hung up. I called back and got Tara. Tara said they had them in stock put one on hold for me. She was very polite, and she did not put me on hold. When I showed up it was waiting for me. This is a class establishment. Will be having Mickey waffles on Christmas, thanks Tara. read more

I'm updating my recent review after sampling the candies I purchased on 11-30-20. I tasted the caramels I bought and they were hard and stale and almost rancid. Totally inedible. I thought it was weird so I looked closer at the package. It clearly states 2018 on the package! I am shocked. I paid $23.00 for a tiny box of caramels. That are not even fresh. I recently called this store on a Wednesday and said I would pick up a specialty steamer on Friday, would they please hold it for me until Friday. NO! We can't do that! Came in after I did an online and pick up in store took a lap around store has a very nice aesthetic, the sales people just sit at the counter don't ask any questions until I walked up to the counter. Yet there was one person in there they were walking around showing him everything. The three stars is because the store is very clean, organized and their products are amazing. But at the price point they should be more customer service oriented. I just like to just be acknowledged. That's it. Don't walk around kissing my ass, just say hello that's it. And when I need help I know where to look. For the lack of customer service they get 1 star. Once I got to the register they were all friendly but I'm like what about before all that? But whatever. Ever heard of pennywise and pound foolish? I shopped at Williams Sonoma and decided to purchase a $70 set of bowls and a $100 gift card for a wedding present. I asked if they could be gift wrapped and the very kind salesperson said, "sure, it'll be $8.50". I was really stunned by that and responded, " really? $8.50?" And she said, "yes, you know, it's because of covid". Inwardly I was, really? I don't think so, greedy is more likely. I very nicely declined the gift wrapping and only purchased the gift card. This up scale, high end kitchen accessory store has much to offer for the serious culinary artist! From kitchen gadgets, to small appliances, to luxury dining and entertaining! The minute I entered this open and spacious store, I knew that shopping was going to be a pleasant experience! Their attractive decor and product displays draw your attention all over the rooms and it's hard to stay focused in one place without getting a little distracted to look in another direction. I probably spent at least an hour in this store checking out all the unique and interesting products they have available. If for instance, you are looking for a coffee maker, waffle iron, blender, toaster oven, or even a juicer, then expect to make some hard, thoughtful decisions. There are more than one or two brands and styles to choose from. They seem to have a little bit of every gadget you can think of with your personal preference in mind! Came in to poke around and pick up a few things while waiting for a friend for dinner. I came straight from the gym, I guess maybe not looking the most put together. I walked all around the store, no acknowledgment, which is fine, maybe they're occupied with something else. When I walked by one of the employees at the counter I heard her say "welcome in, let me know if you need anything ". I turned to return the greeting and realized it wasn't for me.. it was for the very privileged looking couple who had just walked in. When I said hi, I received an icy look and that's it. This is one of my favorite stores in Sacramento, and this location in particular in beautiful Pavilions outshines the mall version. I've been shopping here for years. There's always a place to park, the staff are friendly and helpful but not overbearing, and the merchandise is top notch. Of course, you should still do your research, but if you need something for your kitchen or dining room, this store is likely to have it in various price ranges. I will typically wait for sales on large appliances or more expensive items (I got my Christmas dining ware here for a song after Christmas last year). I loooove the hot cocoa mixes and marshmallows they sell (unfortunately, you can only get them during the holidays, and they're spendy unless you get them after Christmas). I always buy one of the classic and one of the double dark and use half of each in my cup. It's real, quality chocolate (Guittard), and nothing like what you get at other stores. This year, my husband got me cloth napkins to match my holiday tableware, as W-S was still selling the same set (it's a winner - hope they continue it!). We recently had to return a salt mill and exchange it for a pepper mill, and the process was quick and easy with a receipt. I'll continue spending my hard-earned dollars here. And then I'll pop over to Cafe Bernardo or Wildwood for lunch or to Insight for a cup of tea. read more

All Clad, Le Creuset, and Kitchen Aid...oh my! I seriously could spend hours in Williams-Sonoma. The location in The Pavilions is huge! I find myself drooling over all of the amazing kitchen gadgets and cookware. One of my favorite sections is the bakeware section. I adore the Nordic Ware pans. Giant Cupcake pan? Heck yes! I ended up purchasing an adorable apron for my little nephew. He loves to help his mommy cook and I think he would love to look the part. For a supposedly upscale store, one would expect superb service, however I was unable to get the attention of the multiple salespersons here as they were too busy chatting it up with one another. I'll be ordering any kitchen items I need in the future online as to avoid dealing with substandard service. Came in today looking around for a specific product. It was pretty obvious I was looking for something as I was walking around. A taller older man briefly looked at me and walked away but I didn't think he worked there until I saw him greeting others and offering them coffee. Pretty disgusting behavior. Besides that, the two women working in the store were at least kind. Please teach your employees to treat all customers with the same level of service. My experience with the holiday customer service was a bit ruff. During Thanksgiving to Christmas, I frequented the store three times ( twice to shop, once to pickup a mailed item). Each time, it was difficult to get assistance even though there were an abundance of floor staff due to the seasonal hiring. Getting their attention entailed me physically walking up to them to break up their personal conversations amongst themselves. After that the focus and follow through was a big lacking. Suggestion for the associates is to help one customer at a time. I am ok with waiting, but not ok with the associate not finishing assisting me before helping another customer. Since the in store customer service was arduous, in the end I ordered the pieces along with other items online and had them sent to the store...free of shipping costs. But as I stood in line to pickup my order, there was a huge confusion on the "real" line. The cash registers are placed around a square counter. They have a sign hanging from the ceiling stating the start of the line which is across the aisle in no mans land from the counter. Some folks were standing directly behind each register. I was in the "real" line. But one of the cashiers told an elderly woman that she was in the wrong line and to move. I let her in front of me. But as I witnessed this, another cashier serviced a young able body couple that just moseyed on up to the register. Good grief. The elderly woman waited for another 10-12 minutes. She must have waited standing close to over 20 minutes. She told me that she was unaware of them having one line, she was sincerely embarrassed. She was so sweet, she didn't complain but that she thought she did something wrong. Bless her. I reassured her it was not her fault. Shame on William-Sonoma. After that I did some line policing...I wanted to get her and I out of there. From my past experiences, the customer service is usually efficient. So I was disappointed with my recent interactions. But the upside is that the merchandise is always beautifully displayed and staged in the store. read more

I came to this location to look for Christmas gifts for family. I was greeted promptly by a young gentleman named Gabriel. He was so cheerful and ready to help me find what I needed. He showed me several coffeemakers , different kinds of KitchenAid products and current sales promotions. They're offering 15 to 20% off almost all items except electronics. There was also a cooking demo going on and he let me know that even though the cooking class was full you were still able to stand and watch the demo. The Roseville location only allows so many people because of the small store location. This one was twice the size and the staff here were very helpful. I found what I needed and will definitely be back to this location again. 2 stars only because the lady that helped me pick my Le Creuset was attentive But after that it was downhill. I was looking at their Coffee/Tea French Press. I took out the instructions to read so I can figure out how the tea filter works. It was a 99.00 French press so I want to make sure I will like it. Then there's a guy that approached me asking if I was all right. He had a tone and look as if I was doing something wrong. He was even short with his answers to my question. I felt intimidated. I felt offended that I just placed back the instructions and told him that I will just pay for the Le Creuset I have on the counter. I could've shopped for more but I didn't feel like spending anymore money in this store. I even told the lady who was ringing my purchase that I felt intimidated. I had been looking for a bread lame, saw one on their website, went to the store. Thought it's no problem, I'd find it and leave. Nope, not going to happen. I talked to FOUR different people before I met Susan, the chef, who is also a bread baking fan. I FINALLY get someone who knows what I'm talking about. I ordered a serving platter that was in stock and was confirmed to be delivered on 12/20. Williams Sonoma continued to update the delivery date pushing it farther and farther out finally marking it as "back ordered", which it clearly wasn't when I placed the order. It's now 1/5. Over an hour combined on multiple calls with them and the have no idea when It will be delivered. Total garbage service, every email from customer service is a cut and paste, no one reads anything. All I would want is for someone to offer a comparable product that could be delivered sometime this month. They are completely inept. read more

I received an Espro french press as a gift. I tried to return the item, with a gift receipt, but I was told that it was a clearance item that was non-returnable. Why then did they give my friend a gift receipt? I would hope they would clearly say it's non-returnable when it was purchased. On a similar note, how many retailers out there have a final sale policy? Other than mom and pop shops, I really can't think of a single one. I have always liked these stores. Have bought a lot of things from them. Mainly cooking sauces. The thing I like about this store is the size of it. Very Huge. If your looking for a certain item and cannot find it in any of the other stores then by all means go to this one because they will have it. The staff are always right there to help you if needed. Sometimes a little to much, but, better than not at all. Their stores always smell so good because they are always cooking something.
