Blue Fin toro was better the second time around. Wagyu steak was ok but I guess this place aint so bad. It was right around the corner from my hotel (Hotel Zero Degrees) and the rest of the sashimi was good to go. We rolled in around 9pm. We were a little worried because we were the only people in the entire restaurant. Seriously. Don't know why because other places on the strip (standard American fare) were packed and had waits. We ordered drinks. Mai Tai was large and not light on the alcohol. Check. Shrimp shumai appetizer was good, and the dipping sauce was nice as well. Also had miso soup which had sliced shitake mushrooms which is always a winner for me. It was a little lukewarm though, but I forgive. I was not sure about ordering sushi from this place so I went with a standard shrimp and veg tempura. I was pleasantly surprised. The tempura batter was not heavy and super-greasy like it can be, but instead looked like they made liberal use of panko crumbs. It was delicious and crispy. Not a huge fan of the sweet potato, but everything else was on point. Staff (well, we only interacted with one waitress) was super nice. Also, my wife ordered an udon dish and asked for it without meat because she's a vegetarian. They brought it out with shrimp and chicken and she sent it back. It looked like they actually made her a new dish and didn't just go and remove the offending bits, as some places would do. That was also a plus. read more

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Zero Degrees and the concierge recommended Fin II for Japanese Food. He even gave us a coupon to use. It's nice since Fin II is literally around the corner from Zero Degrees. Nice and quiet restaurant (Friday 530pm). We ordered 2 movie boxes. I went for the box with Chicken Teriyaki and Grilled NY Strip Steak, while my wife opted for Chicken Teriyaki and Chicken Katsu. Great portions of Rise, Fresh Salad, Miso Soup and fresh fruit. Real delicious food, served warm and promptly. We asked the waitress if she recommended any Sake. She recommended the "Moonstone Asian Pear" infused Sake. It went real well with the food, but it was more than we bargained for. My wife said that it felt like we were taking shots of patron. The owner of the restaurant came by and poured us some more. By the time we were done with dinner, We were lightweight stumbling out of the place. Overall, Incredible japanese food, Sake was great. read more

The taste of the hamachi with jalapeno was spot on, but I've had thicker, fresher slices at one of the airport restaurants. Great sushi in Stamford. I have always been a fan of the Fairfield location and just tried the Stamford one last night. It did not dissapoint. At lunchtime their special is awesome, 2 rolls and a soup or salad for $8. That's a steal. Normally stick with rolls like the shrimp/avocado or shrimp tempura which are awesome but had the Lovely Couple roll last night and it was lights out. This is my new favorite sushi spot. Started coming in the summer and then recently used a groupon there. They have great and quick service. It's always very quiet when I go there which is nice. I am very simple when it comes to sushi and it always comes out perfect. Whenever I'm craving sushi this will be the spot! Not sure on the other food but sushi is the way to go! read more

My go-to Sushi place in Stamford. Always fresh and always excellent. Even the $3 house salad is made with homemade ginger dressing. Love going here but if I'm staying in, they deliver in record time. Spicy tuna rolls are delicious and served with a small amount of tempura flakes inside the roll; sushi a la carte can be a little pricey but the portions of fish are huge. The yellowtail, eel, and salmon is always fresh and delicious. The waitresses could be a lot friendlier but I'll put up with some 'tude for some great sushi. read more

Great Japanese joint - only ever got delivery from them, and they are always quick and the food arrives hot. On the couple of occasions there's been a (small) error with the meal, they've either resent the corrected dish or happily given us a credit for the next time we order. Sashimi/Sushi - very fresh - quite happy taking customized roll orders over the phone. Have a wide range of more interesting sashimi, and some interesting roll combinations. Shrimp Shumai - not home made, but a great dipping sauce, and they always come v. hot. Green Salad - great dressing! Not the best I've ever had, but pretty good nonetheless. Beef Negimaki - the worst thing I've ever had from them - I'd avoid. Leathery and fairly tasteless. Edamame - not overcooked! A major issue for many places that deliver. Not over-salted either, so you can do so to taste. Jalapeño Shrimp - very very tasty. I like to get it with extra Jalapeño for a little extra zing. Yasai Soba - not bad - a little greasy, but tasty for sure. Overall - if you're in the mood for some delivery Japanese in Stamford - these guys are the way to go - and they deliver to North Stamford too... read more

Fin II was great!! We found it on Groupon and went the same night for sushi. The menu was awesome- it had such great options for special sushi rolls, we had trouble determining which ones we would order! Not only that, but they were able to accommodate a substitution for soy paper with no problem. We had great, attentive service throughout the whole meal as well. Never have I ever written a review on anything. Mainly because i'm not the passionate type. However, after repeatedly ordering and eating at this restaurant I felt like it is one of the few places worth reviewing. I am a very spoiled New York City gal. Reason why i say spoiled is because for someone who has traveled around the world, NYC really does have some of the best restaurants i've ever been to. Since moving to Connecticut i must say the food has failed to impress me. However, Fin II really did made an impact. The tempura sushi rolls and sashimi are beautifully prepared and delicious and you can't beat the evening ambience of sitting outside midweek. Service was very good, especially meeting certain dietary restrictions. Overall a great experience, except for an expiring Groupon ( $60 value for four people for $28), which they would not honor since we were a party of three, however the manager did remove the $28 cost of the Groupon from the bill, since it was expiring. We tried Chirashi and Japanese Fried Rice. The fish was far from being fresh and Japanese fried rice somehow contained chinese bacon. The seasoning of the fried rice didn't seem right and only contained too much oil. We just ordered a California roll, Spider Roll, Tempura Shrimp Roll and the calamari salad. The sushi was awesome and the salad was fresh because the calamari was packaged separately from the lettuce and side of salad dressing. The avocado in the salad created a great balance.
