This is a pretty cool place, right on the river, good offerings for food and drinks, a great patio and outside bar. They have regular live music and it's a good time. I haven't really eaten in the restaurant in a few years, so can't comment on that. I have been here a couple times over the summer and had burgers and pizza in the bar. Burgers are good and I think their pizza is one of the best in the area. The major issue for me is the bartenders, they are awful. Not in the way you think, they are pleasant and they make great cocktails. They are just the most disorganized group I have ever seen. I don't know how 6 people working a bar can't handle 35 or 40 people. Food comes out from the kitchen and nobody seems to know who it's for. They just don't seem to know what their jobs are. You can see the frustration people have when they need service and the bartenders just keep walking past them totally oblivious. We stopped on a Sunday at noon. The setting was nice on the Wolf River. The bar was full and it appeared some type of raffle was going on. We were seated right away and ordered a tap beer and a Bloody Mary. It took over 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. My husband ordered the turkey and ham sandwich melt which was quite good. I ordered the Margherita Pizza which was horrible. It was a premade crust with grape tomatoes halved, mozzarella balls halved and it appeared to be dried basil sprinkled about. It did not have diced tomatoes, fresh basil or olive oil as described on the menu. The staff was friendly when they were around. read more

I went to this establishment under the assumption that this was a prize of the wolf river, this may have been a once great restaurant, but under its new ownership it seemed more like a soap opera than a restaurant. The owner, a older lady with grey hair only seemed interested in drinking her wine at the end of the bar and yelling at her bartenders, instead of showing them proper ways to do things. I ordered the buffet and for the price it was not even close to worth it. I think I would have been better off going to a KFC buffet for half the price, at least their management isn't as bad; considering they both have dried out chicken and non-edible instant potatoes, KFC would also be cleaner (which is weird because KFC's are always dirty). We went for Sunday brunch, underwhelming at best. It was advertised "made to order omelette's", however when we asked we were told they had to be ordered off the menu. So that was disappointing. Also most of the food was soggy and inedible. But the very worst was customer service. First off, no one had a uniform on, so it was impossible to distinguish who was a employee or random people eating the buffet. Once we were seated, we never saw a waitress again until she came to bring the bill. My daughter got one cup Of coffee, no one ever came back to see about a refill or anything. When she did bring the bill she apologized and said she's normally used to bigger tables and she was preoccupied by a larger table. Well this is the last time. We were treated like a after thought and totally disrespected. Kinda crazy considering they charge 18 bucks for the buffet. Don't waste your time going here!! read more

On May 11, 2009 my husband I hired the Fin N Feather for our ceremony and wedding Banquet Room: All Day May 22, 2010 Boat: 1 hour 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. On 5/19/10 Matthew and I met with Debbie,owner/representative at 3pm. During this meeting we finalized our menu and bar options for our wedding. We also communicated with Debbie the room layout agreements for the banquet hall and for the boat during the ceremony. During this finalization we walked through, and she took notes, the banquet hall room as well as through the boat to talk about how the rooms should be set up and what tables should and shouldn't be used for our wedding day! Unfortunately, on the day of the wedding the agreements and services fell short of the promises and agreements because of items both in and out of the control of the Fin N Feather staff. Here were the issues: * When I arrived at the Fin N Feather the day of the wedding I walked through the boat and the banquet hall area to ensure that everything was set up as we had all agreed; however, that was not the case. On the boat there were tables blocking the area where the ceremony was to be held and salt and pepper shakers in the window sills. On the top deck of the boat, it had been agreed that there would not be any tables and that the chairs would be moved to the outskirts leaving the center of the boat open for guests to walk around. However, when I went to the top of the boat the chairs were blocking the stairway and there was a table in the center with ash trays and puddles of water. - We asked the Fin's staff to move the tables and they did; however, by the point I had gotten to the upper level we had already had to ask the staff to do multiple things that were suppose to have already been completed that we felt we were bothering the staff and so we moved the chairs on the top deck on our own. Inside the banquet hall, it was agreed that we could use the small room on the main level for a kid's room. This room was to be cleaned out and open for the kids to play in (with babysitters). When we arrived this room was set for their restaurant and again our bridal party moved the tables and cleaned the area to be used. * Debbie advised us that boarding the boat for the ceremony would be available by 3:00 pm.; however, the draw bridge was not lowered and the chain link removed until after 3:00 pm when a member of our bridal party requested that it be lowered. - Additionally, we had to insist on a large stack of 2x4's be removed from the concrete area leading to the draw bridge as we thought it was a danger, the Fin staff moved it, but advised that they did not agree with moving it. * We had cupcakes delivered to the Fin N Feather on Saturday and knew that they were to be delivered by 2pm. When it was 2:15 pm we verified with Debbie -she advised that they had not been delivered. My mom called the vendor for the cupcakes to verify why they were not delivered yet and we were advised that they were delivered earlier that morning; however, because the Fin staff was insistent that they did not have the cupcakes we continued conversations with the cupcake vendor insisting that they were not delivered. It was not until fter the ceremony that the Fin staff admitted that the cupcakes were in THEIR refrigerator the whole time, and their staff then set them on the tables while we were at our ceremony on the boat. * We had rented the boat for 1 hour. However, at 3:30 the boat was not leaving dock because the generator had blown. After a short period of time, the Captain advised that the generator was fine and we could leave dock. Before we pulled out of the dock completely the Captain advised my father and I that the generator was not staying on. At this time the Captain pulled back to the dock so that my brother in law could get his guitar and we could continue with the ceremony without the music CD's. When we asked the captain of other options he said that there wasn't any back up plan, so we continued with the cruise. The cruise lasted 40 of the 60 minutes. Because the generator was not working there was no AC, no radio system, no cash register for the on board bar, and no flushing toilets. The backup system was to have the bartender manage the bar manually; however, this made service extremely slow and the only way that she could do the math was because our minister gave her a piece of paper and pen. *Additionally, they messed up the billing, they charged us for too many guests, an extra bottle of wine that we did not give permission to open (we had set a specific number of bottles we were willing to pay for and after that the instruction was to ask my dad before opening anything additional). This was also the case for the late night pizzas; however, all 10 pizzas were cooked without consulting my dad after the first! Basically.. owners and service TERRIBLE! Went for breakfast and was insulted twice by the waitperson who thought I needed to order right away because I looked hungry. The food took a while because we got there right at 8:00 when they open. Very disappointed. We have not been to Fin 'n' Feather for years. We were expecting the Fin 'n' Feather we always loved. We went for Mother's Day Buffet 5/12/19. The buffet was disgusting and overpriced. The buffet looked "institutionalized". We were in buffet line up to 20 minutes, 20 MINUTES each time we went up which wasn't often!! They should not allow walk-ins for the buffet on holidays or special occasions, it should just be for reservation only customer. We had made reservations a month ago, we had to park nearly 3 blocks away. I must say one of my friends informed me that it was under new management and the whole establishment went down hill, my friend was right. read more

I was only here once. I like the location and scenery. I went here for the buffet but it wasn't ready when I got there due to lack of customers. They were able to make it operational while I waited. Great pizza and fish fry! Fin n feather is a great place to go in the summer and hang out on the patio. They also have live bands on the weekends and the atmosphere is great. Food is pretty good, however I would not recommend the buffet. read more

Food and service used to be good. The last time we went there the main dining area was closed. There was only about 25 in the dining area it took over 30 minutes to get the food. The steaks were cold fish tasted like it was in the refrigerator for weeks the perch was grey inside. The only reason we would ever go back is the Inlaws live in the town. As for the burger, was made to medium, two slices of cheese and ice slab of bacon made it a filling meal. I go here a lot! I used to live in Winneconne and my mom lives only a couple blocks away. She goes there almost every sunday with friends for their weekly drawing. The bartenders are always friendly and tend to remember who you are after just a couple of times being there, If we eat, it is usually at the bar-the pizza is really good! And they will deliver if you live in Winneconne which is great as well. Delicious pizza, great drinks, awesome bartenders! Can't say a bad thing about the place. And in the summer-great bands out on the patio- can't beat that! Does get a little busy sometimes though. I am not sure the experience others on here had, but I have never had a bad experience, but we don't go to eat in the dining room, just at the bar. read more

We went there last night on a Saturday night. Got there at 7pm. We asked the owner (hostess) as well as the bartender, what time they serve food until. Both told us 9:45/10pm. We had a couple of drinks in the bar and got up to go eat in the dining room at 8:55- CLOSED! WhAt restaurant stops serving food before 9pm on a Saturday night? We left and went to the Black Otter to eat, which is where we should have gone in the first place. As a local that lives only 10 miles from the Fin and Feather we thought we would try it out again, never will I make thAt mistake again. read more

Stopped in for the Sunday Brunch to use a coupon in our Berlin Lions Club Savings Book. Both my wife and I were overwhelmed with the buffet which was outstanding. The view of the river was amazing from every table in the dining room. Wait service was Excellent, the dining area was squeaky clean, quality of food was delicious and the price unbelievable. Best buffet in the Valley and great brunches on Sunday and holidays. Holiday brunch reservations are a must. The location on the Wolf River makes for great viewing. Summer cruises and dinner on the 'Fin's river boat are a nice diversion although the food's usually a scaled down version of the buffet. I'm not sure what was worse the food or the service. The server had the worst attitude I have ever experienced. She was so rude from the start, she ignored us and after repeatedly trying to get her attention, we had to walk over to her, to tell her we had been waiting 20 minutes to order food. To which she replied "well we switched waitress." Now this something I have never heard, to which I replied, well did anyone want to let us know? I know the service industry can be tough, but I think it's time to find a new job! The food was all around not good, greasy pizza, over cooked fish. To top off our experience, my husband went to wash his hands, when he witnessed a young man with a apron on, walk out of the bathroom without washing his hands! great location, and good food. The reason I would not return is customer service related. first experience was for breakfast. Food was good and very fresh, but our waitress literally disappeared. Gave them another chance because the food was good, but again horrible service. We were told tables on the deck were open, help ourselves and someone would be right with us. Sat there for 10 minutes before my husband went to the bar to get us a drink. He stood in line for over 10 more minutes while the bartender catered to the locals. Meanwhile after the waitress walked past me 3 times I finally got her to stop and take our order. Gluten free pizza was good, but took forever. She did apologize for the wait, however when she delivered food we asked for more drinks and she never brought them. When we were done with our meal I had to go look for her to tell her to forget the drinks and just bring the check. She knew she had done a poor job and was apologetic, Perhaps we are spoiled by the standard of service in the Chicago area, but this place could reAlly some training! We were visiting for the weekend and know our hosts like the fin, so we were going to buy them a gift certificate from there, but decided we did not want to give this place any more of our money. read more
