I met up with a friend to gamble so we ate here beforehand. The first thing that kind of turned me off was the hostess telling my friend she couldn't find his reservation in her schedule and initially it looked as if she wouldn't admit us. After that was settled we were taken to our seats and the place was pretty much empty! Why sweat us about the reservation when they could've sat us anywhere? Not to mention that my friend is a frequent patron of their casino so it would seem that we'd probably get a warmer greeting especially given how empty the restaurant was. Regarding the meal, I probably need to try some of their other meals because what I got was just average. The waitress brought us bread and butter to start. The bread had an odd consistency, as it didn't hold together well. It may have been the type of bread, so no biggie. For an appetizer I got the French Onion Soup, which was decent, although I have had better and cheaper French Onion Soup before. For dinner, I got the Pan Seared Scallops (at $46 for four!) and they were in spanish chorizo, corn, lime wedge, cream, cilantro, and serrano chili. I was not a huge fan. I've had much larger and tastier scallops (and cheaper, too) that weren't in such an odd-tasting presentation. The restaurant itself was pretty cool with the clothing of Hollywood Stars from some of their movies in glass cases around the restaurant. The wait staff was very good. I think overall the restaurant has a lot of potential but, in my mind, is way overpriced for what you get. $10 per scallop is pretty ridiculous no matter where you are. read more

I don't tend to like steak places and I try to figure that into reviews. This is not a good steak place. I had the ribeye which was choice at a prime price. I ordered medium rare, and it was cooked correctly, but the quality of the meat didn't make it a great experience. It was chewy and lacked flavor. The mashed potatoes were the classic Joel Robuchon butter and potato recipe. You had to pay extra for that, as you would for any side. I did not eat anything I would order again at any price. My boyfriend and I were looking forward to a nice date night dinner and we don't mind paying for a quality meal but sadly the food here just doesn't live up to the prices. The dining room looks....tired. Another reviewer was spot on when they compared it to a hotel lobby. Service was absolutely fantastic. Our waitress was professional and friendly, she took time to explain items on the menu, and we never had to wait for a drink refill. Sadly the food just isn't good. He ordered the 16oz ribeye, medium. The steak came out rare with no sear and no seasoning. He ate it, but a big portion of the steak was fat and gristle that needed trimmed off. We were aware no sides are included but for that price give us a garnish or something, the plate just looked pathetic and bland. Not at all what you'd expect from a steakhouse. $12 for a side of whipped potatoes that tasted like instant potatoes from a packet. I ordered the wedge salad and French onion soup. Salad was good, I couldn't eat the soup. First time in my life I've ever turned away French onion soup. It just tasted like a bowl of thick hot weird gravy. I'm no foodie but I LOVE French onion soup and I don't know what the heck this was. I've had better at Applebees. I wasn't going to say anything but our server noticed I hadn't eaten the soup and she took it off the check which was very appreciated. 10/10 for service, 1/10 for food. Maybe the chef was having a bad night but I can't say we'll be back anytime soon. When I was seated the table had something sticky in it and flies dominated our table and ended up in the butter. Overall a nice dining experience. I was hoping for a little bit more though as a higher end steakhouse. Our server was great, though she clearly had too many tables to be able to provide over the top service ( she truly seemed like she wanted us to enjoy our meal) Service opportunities: food timing - mson course was on the heels of our salad, slow to refill water and check on drinks. I've visited twice and was very disappointed both times. The pricing implies this is a higher end steakhouse, but you'll find better ambiance and a much tastier steak at Longhorn Steakhouse. The dining room feels more like a hotel dining room. It is brightly overlit and there is no background music at all. The oversized booths all face other tables so there is a lack of privacy. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable, as was the host/manager, but service was extremely slow. The pace of drinks and food from the kitchen was very slow. The most disappointing aspect was the lack of a well cooked steak. Both visits for us produced poorly cooked steaks. They obviously don't use flames at all, but they do not get their pans nearly hot enough to produce any kind of sear at all. And they are barely seasoned even though the server states they use heavy salt and pepper to prepare. They do not! While the sides were prepared well and were tasty, the cooks have absolutely no clue how to cook a proper steak. Do not recommend this place and will not return. read more

I want to preface this review by saying that this was a completely unplanned, spontaneous visit and we could not have been more pleasantly surprised! I believe on the weekends reservations are necessary, but we got lucky and were able to get a table on the 'patio' of sorts immediately. I don't even know where to begin, so I will just start with the beverage selections and complimentary bread. Our server/bartender, Shauna, was amazing! She began our visit by going over the menu's highlights which was extremely insightful. We ordered the spiced pear martini and a French 75 to start. Those came out in a short amount of time with their complimentary bread and butter. The bread and butter was BEYOND delightful. We limit our carbs usually, but we ate every last bite of that bread without regret. It was light and fluffy, croissant in flavor, almost pretzel topped, and just chefs kiss . The drinks were delicious and aesthetically appealing. We ordered the corn and crab fritter appetizer and it was really good. If I'm being honest it was probably the least remarkable part of the meal, but still had good flavors. The downsides of it for us were that it was a very small portion for $22 and comparatively speaking had less of a 'wow' factor. For our entrees we both ordered the Snake River Farms Gold Wagyu Filet and we accompanied those with the Brussel sprouts and steak fries. This was both of our first times trying wagyu and it was just melt in your mouth AMAZING. We often have filets, but this was next level. The brussel sprouts were covered in raspberry coulis and crushed peanuts and the flavors complimented so incredibly well. The 'steak fries' were so much more than expected, coated in Parmesan, and served with a horseradish cream sauce that was to die for and a house made ketchup that was phenomenal for ketchup. We then finished the meal with the smoked old fashioned and another spiced pear martini which were again both delicious. Shauna made sure that we didn't leave without taking the Tahitian vanilla crème brûlée home with us and I could not be more grateful. Overall, the meal was a splurge meal for us, but definitely well worth it. We will be returning to try some other menu items and indulge once again on the items we tried tonight. The only negatives we would have (which had nothing to do with the restaurant/service) was that because the restaurant is in the casino on the smoking side it comes with a smell. read more

When we arrived on time for our reservation, we were directed to a table and told we could not have a booth because we did not make a reservation specifically for a booth. I saw plenty of other people just walk in and get a booth so that really pissed me off especially since it was our anniversary and they knew it. Our waitress was good and the service was good, but lots of issues with the food. The French onion soup was average and my wife was not fond of the giant pieces of rosemary that were in it. The table bread was very good as was the butter. We split the wedge salad and it had some weird chunks that must've been bacon, but it was chewy like a crackling. The skirt steak chimichurri was good and the meat was tender. The steak fries were a weird sliced spear of an entire fried potato. The accompanying sauces were good. My wife's ribeye was decent, but her baked potato was clearly not cooked the day we ate there. It wasn't hot and didn't even melt the butter. The crème brûlée was good for dessert and they did comp us since it was our anniversary so that was a nice touch. Definitely would've been better in the booth and not having to smell smoke from the casino floor because we were too close to the front door. There's absolutely no dress code here most of the people had on jeans and T-shirts. Finally had the opportunity to have dinner at The Final Cut at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races and wow our meal started with a fresh brioche bun with super soft butter. Tiger prawns were next for our appetizer. These were really fresh and pretty large. the Beef Tartare was pretty good! Super mild taste and complemented well with the balsamic and cucumbers Ashley Mendoza got the roasted red pepper soup and I'm pretty sure consumed her entire bowl in 5 minutes. Needless to say she said it was amazing. I got a traditional filet medium rare. They also had a roasted balsamic garlic to compliment it. The steak was great, I'm more of a ribeye guy so I would probably go for that the next time. the sides were really great! The whipped potatoes were super airy and light! The roasted Broccoli was super fresh! The Mac and cheese way way better than I expected. Super cheesy and flavorful. We also got the elote which I loved! The scallops were really fresh and I really enjoyed! They were meaty if that makes sense and the sear was perfect with the risotto. I'm a huge fan of the marrow bone and this may have been one of my favorite parts of the meal. The perfect amount of salt and super rich flavors. we had to finish it off with the triple chocolate cake and added vanilla ice cream. This thing was huge, I mean massive. We couldn't even finish half of it, and for $9 it was a great price. Overall, a really pleasant experience. Traditionally, I would drive to northern Virginia for an experience like this. Very disappointed in the service and quality. I bought a $120 tomahawk steak (no sides included) and thought it would be a nice treat. I specifically told the waiter I wanted it light pink in the middle and medium to medium well (no blood). So they bring me the steak and it was rare as can be. When the manager stopped by to check on our table I discussed all of the above and she said oh we can heat it up and you can take it home. That's it no sorry, no taking anything off the tab. At this point the meal was ruined in my opinion. I'm not a big fan of sending anything back to the kitchen who knows what will happen to it then. Imagine a West Virginia steakhouse with no steaks. No filets, and American "Waygu" Sirloin the waitress tells you "it's awful"..... now welcome to the Final Cut! At some points of the meal we thought we were being punked ( remember that TV show?). There wasn't rosemary for a drink, the Pisco Sour tasted like detergent, the garlic that came with the only two recommended, and available meat options (ribeye and T bone), was so charred, it was barely edible, the bearnaise sauce was green!!! I can actually keep going, the cup our coffee came in was dirty. We left dinner thinking food poisoning was imminent and wishing we could be reimbursed for our two hour experience. I don't think I've ever left a 1 star review, but this place barely earned the one star. You're probably better off at the casino food court than at this "high end" dinning option. With inflation this restaurant has gone through reducing the portion sizes of the foods served at the same time keeping their prices the same or increasing them. We had dinner last night at the Final Cut . Since we weren't too hungry we ordered a limited meal. My wife had their special salad which she loved. I order the French Onion soup and their Chicken breast dinner. The soup arrived so hot I had to put ice in it. There was a limited amount of cheese and a bunch of thick cubed bread chunks that was difficult to chew. The soup wasn't the worst soup I have gotten here before but it wasn't very good. My Chicken was a major disappointment. It was tasteless and dried out. I only ate the wing portion and took the rest home. I did eat the potatoes. They were pretty good. Our server was fantastic! I only wish this restaurant could get their food right. It's so inconsistent. We come here a lot because the casino Comps us. Some time the food is pretty good . My husband and I visited Final Cut for the third time and were very happy with our visit. Our server, Brittany, was spectacular, knowledgeable and personable - exactly what you hope for in a server. Our cocktails were lovely, and our oysters and prawn appetizers were fresh and delicious. My flank steak was amazing and my husbands duck was great too. Wow! Just went for my birthday. It was really one of the best meals I've ever had. The crabcakes appetizer was delicious. The vodka martini was amazing. Overall, it was wonderful except one thing. Where was the Sinatra? The smoke was so heavy it literally was choking me and anyone who knows me knows that I HATE CIGARETTE SMOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! However my food was so good that I would go back again...even with the smell of smoke. I had the Cesar Salad and the accompaniment of scallops (2) and my husband had the Ribeye Steak and creamed spinach. My scallops and salad were delightful, my husband enjoyed his food also. We had the wedge salad, French onion soup, filet minion, rib eye, mashed potato's and a bottle of Santa Julia Malbec from Argentina. The wedge salad was really good, I thought it was light on the lettuce. I just think that a wedge salad should be a full 1/4th of a head of lettuce, but that may just be me and my preference. None the less it was really good. It had garlic herb dressing, blu cheese crumbles, apple slices, onion, bacon bits and cucumber slices. The French onion soup was as you would expect; French onion soup... so if you like it , you like it, if you don't, you don't. The mashed potatoes were done really well, definitely something to add to your meal. Now the steaks were why we were really there. Amazing! The filet minion and the rib eye were done perfectly. It was our first time (and definitely not our last). For a party of three (3) we ordered the rib eye steak, shrimp, and chicken as main dishes. We also ordered salad to share and fries for the table. We all shared our dishes and EVERYTHING was extremely tasty (shout our to the chef)! We were there to celebrate two birthdays. Robert, our waiter and his assistant (busboy/man), were AWESOME. They explained just about everything about the menu. Robert made great recommendations and went out of his way to help us celebrate our birthdays by bringing out three types of AWESOME deserts (with candles) and coffee. I visited Final Cut last weekend and was pleasantly surprised by the presence of an upscale restaurant in Hollywood Casino (West Virginia). We were celebrating my Dad's bday, so we booked reservations for 9pm and went to see the horses race. We arrived promptly at 9 pm and were seated immediately. Our waiter, Nathaniel, pleasantly greeted us and gave us an overview of the menu. I quickly noticed one of my favs on the menu. Ceviche. Then I noticed the tiger prawns. I order both for our table because my Dad isn't really picky and I'm the "Restaurant Expert." LOL We also order drinks - me a Margarita and him a glass of Bourbon and a beer. So, our Ceviche arrives and it's like non I've ever seen before. It's seated atop a bed of lettuce and cuffed by what appears to be sub bread. We dig in and and it's delicious. Not like traditional Ceviche, but like Ceviche and chicken salad mixed together or something. It was hitting all the right taste buds. Several minutes later, the "tiger prawns" arrive and I immediately giggle. I was looking at large cocktail shrimp - not tiger prawns. I'm accustomed to seeing tiger prawns with heads, eyes, little legs and an elongated body, so I was definitely shocked when we were greeted with these shrimp. I take a bite of one and it was tough like rubber. I asked to have them removed from our bill. Shortly after, our main entree arrives and boy were we pleased! My NY Strip was cooked nicely. Flavorfully char-grilled on the outside and very tender on the inside. And the truffle Mac and Cheese. Whew! It was cheesy! The lobster was good but I found the melted butter to be a bit too salty for my taste. Nathaniel asked us if we wanted dessert and I couldn't resist. The Creme Brulee was calling my name. I asked for extra berries because I need a bit of tart during the entire dish or it's just too sweet for me. Flamed up - it was sweet and fresh. After dinner my Dad and I went around the restaurant to see the beautiful gowns and suits that were encased in glass. Upon closer look, it was all elegant attire that were worn by celebrities like Angelina Joie and John Travolta. Classic photos of Dorthy Dandridge and other celebs from the 40s and 50s adorn the walls. Overall, we had a really classy experience. To the point where I forgot we were even in a casino and I think that's the main goal. I am thankful for this memory because my Dad recently turned 73 and we had a great weekend. read more

High quality, high end dinning in Charles Town, West Virginia. The environment was a fresh breath of air, as it is secluded from the casino floor at the Hollywood Casino. Unfortunately, I didn't do my research prior to heading to this place and was not excited with having to walk in a fog of smoke to get to this location. Nonetheless, the facility was very clean, and actually walled off the smoking area form the casino. The service from the hostess to the server were very profession and helpful in our dinning experience. I ordered the ribeye, which was flavorful, delicious and cooked to perfection. To go with my side, I had the asparagus--VERY DELICIOUS. My co-worker had the filet and the garlic mashed potato in which he states, the filet was good but not great as expected to pay the $43. Nonetheless, we agreed the overall meal was delicious and probably one of the better tasting meals we had during our time in the Charles Town area. Definitely recommend anyone stopping by. We save the Final Cut for our most special celebrations because it never disappoints. Last night was no exception. We started with beef tartare and a fried chicken appetizer. The chicken was so crispy and had a lightly sweet sauce. Tartare is one of those dishes that has to be prepared correctly or it can be very bad. This one was perfect; not too much on the spices, allowing the flavor of the wonderful steak to shine through. I had scallops which were seared to perfection and my husband had the most giant bone in pork chop (with a smoked tomato jam that I could eat by itself!) The Final cut makes their own pasta in house so I could not resist trying the lamb with fresh pasta (superb)The atmosphere is nice and the service is attentive. The whole evening was a delight, as I always expect when I go to Final Cut. read more
