My family and I have been going here for years for birthday cakes. They make gorgeous wedding cakes too. I've recommended this place to everyone who wants a good cream cake. I've only had their Strawberry/Berries filling yellow cake with butter cream. It's very popular too! and it is very good, I tell you that. Not too creamy, just the way I like it. However, this place could get on your nerves. You gotta tell them exactly what you want. Be specific as possible. I've had some issues with them before on my cake orderings and now I don't because the girl that works here knows me well since I am their loyal customer so I have priority advantages and such. But if you're a newcomer, my advice: be specific and draw it out if you have to. For myself, I don't mind drawing it out and all because I am a perfectionist if I'm the planner. it could be a bother but I've come here too much to go elsewhere plus, it's convenient. I've had big orders from this place before too. They did a Casino cake for my brother's 21st birthday. came out Perfect. I drew a picture and everything for them. It's pretty pricey here though. Words can't explain the the beauty of my wedding cake from Final Touch. It was beautiful, perfect, and exactly what I wanted. From my explanation, to her drawing, to the final product... It was simply so easy and perfect. Great service, professional, and looking for my best interest. After coming here a few times this last time was worst. We had a tasting here, their prices are fair, but their CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS. We came in and met with Queenie a month in advance, told them exactly what we wanted on their order form. When we returned to place our order Queenie had no record of our order, though we emailed them exactly what we wanted a month in advance?!? We were ready to pay for our cake but Queenie claimed she never got our emails then we pulled up the email on our phones to prove to her we sent them, then she was able to locate our email from a month ago. I was drawn to this bakery through a friend's' birthday party where I noticed a simple, yet beautifully decorated cake. After attending several other Final Touch featured events and inquiring about where the cakes came from I opted to find it. Their cakes are delectable. They're simple, yet elegant. Beautiful and delicious. I like to think of them as the perfect fusion to the Asian-American palate. Their cakes are soft and moist and light and fluffy are more preferred than the more commonly known Asian bakery chains. Their frosting, thick almost fondant like; similar to the kinds found on a generic American cake, is the right blend of sweetness. And even better yet, it's not as thick or tasteless as American fondant. How they get the flavor and structure of the frosting to stay intact is still a wonder to me. Earlier this year, in light of a birthday I sought to find the bakery. Located randomly on a small side street in Little Saigon, the place was a little difficult to find. After finding it, I thought I would just go in and pick out a cake. Little to my knowledge did I know that they don't have any pre made cakes. Instead I walked in to find an almost factory like environment, but on a much smaller scale. There's a glass display (that doesn't seem functional) followed by the register counter. Behind the counter with no curtain for cover up I saw all the stainless steel kitchen. A long table for work can be noticed and it reminded me of a mass production factory.On the opposite side of the counter portfolios of their works are displayed. I was greeted and handed an order form where the lady told me the two 'daily' flavors they were offering that day. After picking out my options in color and decor I was informed that my cake would be ready later that day. I would suggest ordering ahead if you're interested in more flavor variety. This is my friend's go to place for special occasion cakes. I think I must have been at five or six gatherings with a Final Touch cake over the years of living in OC. On a recent visit to SoCal for a surprise birthday party for my husband, I looked to Final Touch to create a design for his birthday. Their cakes are artistic, not too sweet (Asian style) and always full of fresh fruit rather than sticky sweet buttercream. Final Touch has lost their great taste. It must be a new owner. I recently bought a large cake for a big event. I got a hard, plastic tasting icing and dried up vanilla cake on the inside. Their icing is hard and waxy buttercream that most likely will stay that way in your clogged arteries. Also, barely any berries too. It was so embarrassing for the guests who kindly tried to eat the cake. I do not recommend this place at all. You are better off buying a cake at the supermarket or a local bakery. Ugg, as I write this I want to hurl thinking of the taste of this cake.. I am giving this 2 stars because the design of the cake was actually pretty and with great modern designs. Otherwise this would have been a one star review for the God awful taste it left in my mouth. The cake actually tasted like LARD/BUTTER/PLASTIC. The consistency also was that of lard, the cake itself was dry and flakey. I could not believe my taste buds. I almost threw up at the one year old birthday party I was at..Not even the fresh fruit inside could save it. Came in here today with my sister looking to order a cake for the upcoming Saturday. First off, we asked how much is a two later cake, she asked us what size ? In my head I'm like ...... How do I know the sizes of the cakes ..? So I'm waiting for her to tell me what kind of sizes they have but she just stands there and stares at us and keeps asking what size. So then we point at this one cake in the fridge and ask her how much is that small one ? I don't remember the price she gave us. Then my sister ask how much is it if you put a second layer on that cake and she goes well we don't sell our cakes like that (piece by piece) well obviously we came in asking for a two layer cake ..... She says 90$ for a small two layer cake, which we thought was okay. Then we showed her a picture of how we wanted the cake to look like (lots of fondant flowers) and she says no we don't know how to do that. In my head I'm like .. This is a cake place that makes wedding cakes etc. how do you not know how to do that. Then we ask her for a gold glitter cake. She goes we don't know how to do that. Okay...? Got to try a small cake for a birthday. The white cake crumb was tight yet light and moist. Fruit was still crisp and juicy, no mushy berries at all. The cake was evenly baked throughout in all the layers, with even frosting and fruit embedding. The buttercream frosting was thick and rich with a silky mouth feel. To be honest, I used to love this bakery. I ordered my 16th birthday cake from here years ago and I asked for a Hello Kitty design. It came out really cute and I was super impressed. Forward to my 18th birthday, my parents ordered a cake from here and it was beautifully designed with roses. That is why I would always come here whenever I need a cake. Well, at least until today. I came here a week ago and I ordered a batman cake for my boyfriend's birthday (which was yesterday). The girl there gave me a few sizes to pick and I chose an 8 inch one and the filling was cookies and creme. I showed her the design I wanted and she said that they were able to do it. I even emailed them the picture (like they asked) for reference as well. So based on previous experiences, I had high hopes for this cake. But boy was I wrong. The cake was not even close to what I wanted it to be. To make it short, it looked like a shittier version of the actual design that I wanted. The font on the cake was sloppy and I mean come on, I bet even I can write "Happy Birthday" so much better than how it looked like on the cake. The filling did not even taste like cookies and creme. Overall, the whole cake was super sweet and it just tasted cheap; it wasn't worth it for how much I paid for. Did I mention it was $100? Yeah, $100 for an 8 inch cake full of utter disappointment. Looks wise I thought the cake turned out nice, but there was an indentation on the front body of the cake almost like someone had pushed their index finger on it..... I was at a wedding a few months ago and was amazed by the cake. It was three layers, all white and wrapped around it was a lei of purple orchids. SOOO PRETTYYY!!! and the most amazing thing was...it tasted like heaven! It is like melt in your mouth good. The cream is a light butter cream...not too sweet, just right. I love it. I usually dont ask for seconds when it comes to cake but for Final touch's cakes, I got to have a second piece...Pack on the calories...oh well, Ill work it off at the gym.hahaha. I have also. A year ago, they did a great job on my son's cake. I have them a little description over the phone, when I picked it up, I was pleasantly surprised. Easy peezy. This is usually what happens. I order cakes from here every other month. Recently, it has become more difficult. The bakery charges for decorations except for few styles that are complimentary. The process has become complicated and complex--too much for me that I have to think twice about ordering. Yes, the cakes are good and are second to none. Today I picked up a 6 inch white cake with berries for a birthday. The cake was absolutely beautiful with a fresh rose on it. The cake was made with butter cream. Butter cream is a either you like it or not thing. Me personally I do not like it, but it makes a beautiful cake. I ate the moist cake with berries, but left the frosting behind. Me not liking butter cream has no impact on my rating. The other time I tried FTB it was a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. The cake was overall was very good and I am not a real fan of red velvet because I tend to find them blah. Drawbacks - the staff have limited English which can be difficult when ordering a cake and the location is among auto repair shops, but hey they make a good cake. Good job Final Touch! read more

This review is purely just for the strawberry white cake I had today! So my manager bought a customized white cake filled with some sort of pudding/cream and fresh strawberries. What I really like about asian bakeries is how they make the frosting so light, kinda like cool whip, and how it's not too sweet either. This cake was amazing! Queenie helped us with our tastings and ultimately we chose the passionfruit with raspberry and buttercream frosting for our wedding.
