It's not bad compared to the price. Small little Thai restaurant. The yellow curry was pretty thick, but missing some coconut milk favor. The potatoes was cut in big huge pieces.... no favor but chucky. Red curry was okay. Portion was decent, Services was quick fast . We observed they were mainly doing to go business. Do not get delivery from this place! It will never arrive. The food is good so just go there and pick it up if you crave Thai food. Not the best service. Don't use door dash or any other delivery and their driver takes everyone's order at the same time (maybe 7 orders at a time). Cold food. read more

Having eaten Thai food all over the world (Including Thailand), I must say we very disappointed after reading so many good reviews. First, the counter team were two youngsters that didn't know if Pho was Thai food or Vietnamese food. One of them seemed more interested in their smartphone than anything else. "We don't know, we just work here.", is not a good look for the front of the house. Someone appearing to be a cook, came out from the kitchen area for a momentary scowl. Again not a good look for the front of the house. Yum Nuar salad prepared using what appeared to be boiled beef like the Pho soup beef. The beef is supposed to be grilled and thin sliced. Both Yum Nuar and Pho soup were very weakly seasoned... basically flavorless. Satay at $8.50 for 4 pieces? I expected larger and more tender chicken and at least a memorable fresh Satay sauce. Spring rolls were very small and very chewy... from a box maybe?? Won Ton soup, Green Curry, and Orange chicken were decent but forgettable. All in all, I would rather have the $82.54 and made the Thai Birthday dinner myself. Wondering how many of these Yelp reviews are fake. Hi All Just got back from a week in Cabo and both the wife's and my first thoughts were Thai food for dinner. And. Finest Thai in El Cajon has been the restaurant of Choice for eating Thai. Located in the Target strip mall on Broadway, we have yet to have a bad meal in the ten plus times we've eaten here Of course, I have had only the Yellow curry, and Dian mostly had the Massaman curry, but the girls have gotten Fried rice and Pad See Ew. All large portions and all are very competitive in price. Staff is very friendly and Finest Thai gets my FIVE star pick! read more

I Yelped pho and found myself at Finest Thai to find only one pho item on the menu. I was a bit perplexed but hungry and on a timeline, so I stayed and ordered it. In one word: WOW! I've had a lot of pho in my time but this was the best ever. The beef broth had a deep, complex flavor profile, the noodles and veggies had a good chew, the iced tea was brewed nicely, and the service was solid. I'll definitely be back. read more

We ordered the seafood which was delicious and ordered the pad Thai and asked for a #2. It was a 6 or 8. I could not eat it and threw it away. It's a good thing this wasn't our first time ordering from Finest Thai. Usually they deliver what has been ordered but not tonight. Tonight we received our Tom Kha Gai soup without any chicken, when we phoned to address the problem we were told to call Uber (who delivered our meal) and report the problem to them for a refund. Did the driver cook the soup? No! Did she pick the chicken out of our soup, unlikely! Why should we call the Uber driver? We asked for a refund on the debit card they had in their possession and she said 'no' ! That's not how we do it! Why? 'That's just the way it is'! Called the Uber driver just to play the game, left a voicemail and still haven't received a callback. I know we should be patient in the time of Covid and we should try to patronize our local 'mom and pop' establishments, but at least meet us half way and give us a reason to come back! read more

Friendly service, inexpensive, and delicious. I usually get the green chicken curry and pad Thai, and it's enough for three people to share. I like spicy food, but here I ask for mild and it's plenty hot, with good flavor. They close between 3 and 5, but when I've called ahead for to-go orders, they always have it ready right at 5. IDK what happened in the last couple months but it must be a different cook or something, because everything was just.... Slightly OFF. The spring rolls we ordered were unevenly rolled with like basically just lettuce and barely any shrimp. Very unevenly cut too. our order of a hot basil was really wet almost soupy with no spice even though I chose medium. Very disappointing. The to go packaging was different too. Smaller portions and worse quality. This place was a good solid place to come for Thai, but that last order we had was NOT cool. I also ordered to have tofu in my hot basil, but they put in soggy pieces of mock chicken or duck I believe. Not tofu at all. But. Whatever. We have eaten here many times but will not be returning. We came to pick up our order today after placing an order on their website and it saying it would be ready at 4:45pm. I walked in at 4:45 and the two young cashiers in the front were deep in conversation. I waited for a bit and then interrupted to asked them if they had our order ready. They said they had one order but it was for another patron. When I told them that we had placed an order online and gave them my husbands name they just stared at me and said they didn't have it and made no movement to check anything. I then let them know my husband had placed an order online for pickup and they continued to look at me blankly and provided zero help nor started looking to see if we had placed an order online. They suggested I call my husband and confirm he had actually placed an order because apparently we should be made to feel like we don't know how to order food online not that they could somehow feel responsible. I called my husband and he texted me our order confirmation. The young man and woman in the front had still not started looking for the order. I told them the order number and then they finally started looking on their tablet and confirmed that yea we had placed an order through their website almost an hour ago at this point. They then said they would start our order and I could wait. No apologies or any acknowledgment of their mistake. I let them know I wouldn't be able to wait and that my husband would be coming to pick the food up as I had groceries I needed to get home. When my husband showed up and told them who he was they ignored him for 5-10 minutes and then gave him the food. Again not even an apology for the inconvenience nor acknowledgment of their mistake. He brought the food home and they decided to make it so spicy it was inedible. We have ordered from here multiple times (weekly to monthly) before and it was beyond their typical hot level. My husband often gets hot but this was WELL beyond that, It seemed pretty unlikely to make something meant to be mild that that hot unless it was intentional. I called back and let them know that the food was too hot and not the level we ordered. Did they acknowledge, apologize or offer a refund. Nope, they did not. What a joke. The food here is usually ok. Not great Thai food but ok. We will never be returning. Customer service is beyond deplorable. It just doesn't exist. read more

We used to love Finest Thai but we've noticed a huge dip in the consistency of the food. It's often wayyyyy spicier than the rating I ask for but tonight my rated 4 Pad See Ew is inedible. There is no flavor to the dry noodles and over cooked chicken and all I can feel is my lips and tongue burning. They always say 15-20 minutes for our order and we've learned that it always takes longer. We gave an extra 10 minutes before heading over to pick up and was still left waiting. We are no longer willing to wait for mediocre Thai food when there are other great places nearby. read more

The new owners of the shop have definitely proven them a viable business and they are back to make great food. My only gripe is consistency and ensuring their cooks are making the right food for the orders coming in. As an example I received chicken fried rice vs thier much more delicious pork fried rice. It could have been rectified if the servers bothered to check before packaging up and sending us on our way. Other than that I have no complaints about the food or the service. I tagged along with a large group of people to this restaurant last Sunday evening. There were about 20 of us - and we were VERY last minute. This restaurant was SUPER accommodating. They had our table waiting for us and handled the many separate checks with grace. The service was top-notch and attentive - we couldn't empty a water glass or any of our beverages. The refills were on point. They even added more boba to my husband's tea after he mentioned that he liked it (it was his first time trying it.) I don't usually eat Thai food because I am a super wimp when it comes to spice, so I asked our server if they could make my food with little to no spice. He totally listened (which doesn't always happen at other places) and my food came right on the money. I had the Cashew Nut - it was very flavorful (even with Spice Level: 0) and was a large portion. I had enough to have lunch the next day. If you're looking for a great little secret Thai place this should be on your list. read more

Ate there for dinner, they were busy with to go orders. I sat down and they got my order in a timely manner. The service was good and so was the food. The people who came in cause they couldn't get through to them on the phone were sort of rude to the employee... But what they couldn't see was how busy they truly were. I wish people were more patient and kind to the employees that were working non-stop from the moment I walked in to the establishment to when I was leaving and the gal who was taking orders on the phone, ringing people up helped me package up my food. I ordered the pad see ew and my noodles looked plain like there was any sauce or flavor and it tasted like soap and after two bits made me sick. My mango sticky rice smelt like crap and the mango was brown. I am definitely very disappointed I wasted money and time on this place. read more
