I always go back but this is one of those places that I can't decide if it's great or just good. They are so close to great, just needs to tighten up a little. This place should be so good and it's not. I'd give it one star but I really like some of their food and their margaritas with the prickly pear juice. Actually, I love their margaritas with the prickly pear juice which is the only reason we ever go back. I've been there probably 15 times. The service is TERRIBLE. I've never once had a good server. This is a bar with lots of regulars. Maybe the regulars write the awesome reviews. But for everyone else, the service stinks. The servers spend all their time talking to each other and the regulars. It doesn't matter if you sit at the bar or at a table, you get ignored. It doesn't matter if you go during the day or at night, for football, for one of the musical acts they get, or in the middle of the afternoon when no one is there. They ignore you until they have to deal with you. On top of that, the kitchen is SLOW. We went for Sunday brunch and it took 45 minutes from when we ordered to when we got the food and we were one of 5 tables in the place. On top of it all, the place is dirty. So dirty we no longer order food. If the front of the restaurant is that dirty imagine what the back looks like since no one sees it. It's not uncommon to have to bus a table to sit down. Even if the places empty, all the tables are often full of dirty dishes. Good luck breaking the wait staff away from their chats to clear it for you or bring a cloth to wipe it with. Still, there are few options in this part of town for a casual drink. So, we go back occasionally hoping it's changed. It hasn't yet but maybe it will some day. We find a table, then wait and wait and wait. Eventually someone shows up and takes our order. The margaritas are awesome. The food is good if you can stomach the thought of a dirty kitchen. If you live in the area, it might be worth a stop. If you have to drive more than 5 minutes to get there, it's not. read more

The amazing patio and chill atmosphere at Finis is where its at. They have amazing tacos! Taco Tuesday is a great chance to try a few different tacos and get some mexican beer for $2.50! Our experience here was "eh". It wasn't good, it wasn't bad. We got seated right next to the stage where a band was playing and my ears started to hurt, but it was a fun atmosphere. We got the calamari, which was okay but was an extremely small serving for $9. I got two fish tacos and my boyfriend got a burger, which was a nice size but only came with a handful of fries. I laughed at my tacos because they were so tiny, more like street tacos, and they didn't come with anything. For $5 each I felt like it was a major rip off. I ended up eating a snack later because they didn't fill me up at all. Our server was polite but overall we had a pretty dull time and not enough food for the price of our bill. read more

Beer - Had a Pipeline Porter on draft which was nice. Had it in a bottle before but never draft. And, as most beer, much better on draft. And other good selections - they had a decent selection. Food - Split the Pineapple Habanero wings, the PCH burger and the Chubasco Fries. Wings were nice - pub fare but kicked up a notch - with kind of a contemporary gourmet touch. I could have just eaten the Chubasco Fries and nothing else - they were that good. Torn away from the fries to try the PCH burger and it was definitely worthy of the local burger competition they are in. Nice avocado slices - I always love that. Service - wellllll - it was okay. (Is ADD contagious? Because it was kind of prevalent.) I would say it is pretty much representative of what the reviews have said. Luckily, we read the reviews so it was EXACTLY as we thought it would be. (Could wipe the bar down between patrons instead of just flicking the crumbs.) Yet I still gave them three stars??!! The bar (and it is a bar) is open and comfy and homey. And the food is really good. But . . . even though I liked it . . . I was waiting for the red hat ladies to come in. They used to have dodgy service and I still believe it's really a toss up every time we go but tonight really blew my mind. They were jam packed with people this Friday at 5:45 and we got excellent, quality service from a lovely waiter with orange red mermaid hair (she reminded me of a mermaid) and from the people who delivered our food. Our waiter was attentive and came to check on us more than what I expected for an extremely busy night. Our food came within 10 minutes or so of ordering it. If you can ever head down on a Friday, I highly recommend you try their bomb-diggity clam chowder. Huge pieces of clam and bacon. Yes, I said bacon. Also, they do doubles! Double double burgers y'all. I got a delicious picture for proof! My husband was feeling adventurous and they delivered with a pat on his back and a "Good luck!". The thing was massive. They also do piña coladas if you ask for it specifically but it wasn't that good. Way too much coconut rum for me, I prefer to taste my pineapple. Love the atmosphere, felt like I was on vacation in Florida. The chubasco fish tacos were the best I've had, they have lettuce boats instead for lo-carb option however too much lettuce for me. Salsa is very good and Tuesdays they have $2.50 tacos and mexican beer. Their barbeque beef is good as well as chubasco beans, habanero sauce is actuslly not too too hot. Good flavor. After all the hype, Fini's was ... OK. The atmosphere. Was nothing special, and the food was average. We had the French fry nachos and they were ... OK. Big pile of fries (good), lots of cheese (good), but nothing to take it above OK. The fish tacos wee over priced for what you get - one piece of fish and some topping in a small tortilla. The beer was good. When the bill came and was put on my cc, there was a $20 error. When I showed the server he immediately took care of the problem (good) and attributed it to the computer. I am an out of state visitor that got recommended that we should try this restaurant from my relatives and we have been impressed! The first time we had drinks and appetizers because we were going to go to a basketball game and the sangria that I had was beyond delicious! My wife I went to Fini's Landing last night for dinner. My wife asked for her hamburger to be cooked medium-well done, what she got was very rare. When we pointed it out the server she was apologetic and offered to re-cook the hamburger and give us a take-home hamburger as compensation. The next day when I went to heat up the take-home hamburger I found that paper was still attached to the meat patty! How could a cook not notice that the paper was still on the patty when cooking the patty! We had considered that it was a vindictive act on the part of the cook. read more

Tuesday night and we were running late so we opted to visit Fini's Landing for dinner as it is three minutes down the hill for us. We always notice cars in the parking lot so thought perhaps we should give it another try. We had been years ago and it was OK. Mostly it was very close. Many cars in the parking lot but the restaurant was empty[ing]. Perhaps the cars were for the karate studio next door. Sticky table---The waitress wiped it down again but used a dirty rag and it was then stickier. How about rinsing the towel used to wipe down the tables? Drinks---Asked for Stoli and tonic. Waitress asked "What is that?" She asked at the bar and returned and told us "No Stoli". Settled for local Three Wells vodka. There is no comparison when one drinks Stolichnaya. We thought it was a bar staple everywhere. Guess not. Rex Goliath Pino Grigio was only OK. Coconut shrimp---Too fried and we could not discern any coconut. It appeared there was some coconut but the fryer obliterated any coconut flavor. Fry-guy pay attention! Sayulita Taco---Blackened cod, pine-habanero salsa, cilantro aioli. Not blackened in any traditional blackening I've ever tasted. Did not even have any color. Carnita Taco---OK Chubasco Shrimp Taco---OK All taco had lots of hunky shredded cabbage and not flavoring. Key Lime Pie---My wife's first comment was "It tastes like the box it came in". We are connoisseurs of Key Lime Pie and this was perhaps on the bottom of the list. It was inexpensive but it also did not even taste of lime. Everyone in there was happy and it looks as if a lot of the folks were regulars. I guess they are mostly beer and house margarita drinkers. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Glad it was Taco Tuesday so our tacos were inexpensive. All and all a waste of $56.00 and very little food for the money. We stopped in after swimming with friends for a few hours, looking for a quick lunch with our kids (9, 7, 5). The atmosphere is fantastic, there are plenty of tables with a great decor in the restaurant. The bar is a really cool ships hull with swiveling chairs (a just have for game night watching on the various screens. Upon arrival we asked for them to switch one of the TVs to the Red Sox game and they were happy to comply. Winners in my book! We started with an appetizer of the smoked salmon dip, and it was awesome. It comes with toasted bread and cucumber to dip. We ate every morsel. Based on that appetizer order we had high expectations for the tacos, which are on an a la cart ordering option. We tried the scallop ceviche taco and the smoky BBQ chicken taco with mango salsa. They were ok; Not fantastic, and kind of a letdown after the great salmon dip. My three kids each ordered the macaroni and cheese, and I'm pretty sure they were serve a full box of Kraft macaroni and cheese. I don't mind we have to servings, but at five dollars a plate I could've bought 15 boxes at the grocery store for the exact same thing. When we order macaroni and cheese in a restaurant I'm kind of hoping for something a little more than Kraft. In addition he ordering was a little bit confusing for the kids and my daughter ended up ordering macaroni and cheese and a hotdog and a soda stream which equated to a $50 order for her . We also had one drink each, my husband ordered a Mojito and I had a Russian Mule. I'm pretty well-versed in both and my husband was not impressed with him like you too but we were both impressed with the Mule, and it was served in a copper mug. On all our bill came to $55, $65 after tip. It's a deal for a family of five and I would definitely come back, with a new plan for ordering for the kids. read more

My husband and I had a good laugh...."we were sitting on the patio and the room was really hot" .... well Einstein, if you're on the patio in July in Tucson, that shouldn't come as a surprise. Next.... "the setting sun was hitting me right in the retina"...seriously, who faces a setting sun? 99% of the seating at Fini's can't even have this issue. Finally, angry man complained about the cod sandwich having little fish in it. Well, that's what I normally order and it's always a substantial fillet. If you're in the foothills and looking for a Pub-like atmosphere to hang out, Fini's fits the bill. I applaud the fact that they have a unique Mexican theme (taco) menu and this separates them from the rest. The evening that I was there, I didn't feel like having Mexican food so I asked them if they have a version of fish and chips, the waitress said yes so I put in an order. Glad I did. Portion was right and the cole slaw impressed me the most as it was not soaked in runny mayo like you'd expect from most restaurants. The fish was also good with the right amount of batter and crispy. While I enjoyed the food, I did not care for their mojito (too sweet, can't taste any alcohol, overpriced). If I happened to be in the neighborhood, I might consider Fini's, but it's not so great that I have to find reasons to go back. read more

Good place to watch sports. I had the best omelet of my life here on a Saturday morning. It's a bit overpriced but happy hour is good. Owners are really nice and chill. Service is...fine. It's a little confusing that they are trying to position themselves as a place to watch sports but when we went there during March Madness, the bartender seemed baffled as to what games were happening and how to figure out which channels they were on...sadly, this is common with many places. Just went for drinks so I can't speak for the food and only can remark about atmosphere. With coastal nautical decor I imagined myself in a "then and now" episode of Dawson's Creek or a small coastal town hangout for a mature crowd. We had a good time enjoying the live 80s music and watching the now mature "Dawson" attempt to gain the attention of his "Joey" by following her every move and rounds across the bar. The food is mediocre, nothing that really stands out but nothing that tastes bad either. First day I was there the girl did a good job as a waitress. Since I was by myself, I decided to sit at the bar the next day. Big mistake. The guy behind the bar was the worst waiter ever, almost seemed like I killed his puppy or something. I couldn't figure out if he was just a bad waiter or if I unknowingly offended him or something. Really unprofessional, I was planning on having lunch here for the next two weeks that I'm in town since it's right across from the business they stationed me, but after that experience I left and will never set foot in there again. I found this great little Italian place right across the street with the nicest people you'll ever meet. I was looking forward to coming here as it was recommended by Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch as one of their Restaurant Partners, which essentially means they serve ocean-friendly, sustainable seafood. A friend and I went for lunch and sat in the enclosed patio. Loved the beachy vibe! We each had the two-taco lunch special, with different tacos. I had the Guaymas and the Sayulita. The tacos came with a small bowl of beans. I had the Cuban black beans and my friend had the Charro beans. Everything was excellent. Our service was fast and very friendly. I like supporting local businesses, especially those who care enough to serve locally sourced and sustainable ingredients. read more
