Any business can…read moreget a pass for a mistake made, but it's inexcusable in today's world for a restaurant to give bad/disrespectful service. My partner is a passionate "foodie" who has been a successful food writer/blogger in LA and other cities throughout his career. We have been to so many amazing restaurants in Tucson as well as LA, Phoenix and Chicago. On Thursday, my partner tried to make a dinner reservation for Friday on their website and it was not working, so he called the restaurant and spoke to someone who said they did not have 5:30, but they had a 5:00 open, so we took that. He told her that he tried the website but it wasn't working and she said "that happens all the time". When we arrived on Friday at 5:00, the woman said she didn't see a reservation for us. My partner said that he called the day before and made the reservation, she was very rude, saying they were booked and she did not see a reservation for the 2 of us. My partner reiterated that he called Thursday (he's quite sure that he actually spoke with her) she said she'd try to get us a table, but we needed to be done by 6:30. She instructed someone else to seat us. Within minutes, someone approached our table and introduced himself as the owner and said very loudly and aggressively, so customers could hear "if you ever talk to one of my employees like that again, swearing and using foul language, you'll be banned from the restaurant!" I calmly said to him "he was not rude to her, he absolutely did not swear or use foul language, he does NOT do that." A good manager who cares about his customers would have handled this differently- "good evening. I understand you had issues making a reservation, tell me about that". We have been to so many amazing restaurants in Tucson, no need to patronize a place where the owner treats customers so poorly. We left and went to a very popular restaurant. The place was packed, yet we saw the owner who greeted us and asked if we had a reservation, we said "no". He said "that's ok, I'll get you a table". We had a great experience.

This ain't no fancy bistro cafe. Let's get that straight…read more The day we visited there was a live cattle auction happening in the same building which I thought was cool & added to the authentic country charm. If you were wondering, the smell of cows was NOT perceptible even by my extra good sniffer. Probably because of the auction, combined with great reviews - the place was packed with cowboys/girls & farmers along with a mix of other diners. Young, old, hip, not hip, all getting along in there. Wait staff was busy as could be, but kindly took our order & served our dishes while they were still piping hot which is a pet peeve when it's not. Menu had gluten free and vegetarian options which I didn't expect but did think was smart & I'll def try one of them next time I eat here. Lots of choices for everyone. Prices were the usual for this economy ($15+ person entree, excluding beverage or spendier stuff like steak). The place smelled like a good diner ought to: sizzling fragrance of thick bacon & burgers, scent of fresh coffee, toasted breads & perfectly cooked eggs. I ordered the Breakfast Torta, a SW twist on a bfast sammy - egg, bacon, tomato with gorgeous & plentiful avocado atop a thick smear of housemade refried beans. All packed into the freshest torta bread I've eaten anywhere. My husband had the chicken fried steak breakfast with crispy house potatoes. They serve Pepsi products so hubs had a big glass of chocolate milk (nice sized!) and I had water & a side of fruit. Golly! The portions were generous and whoever is cooking clearly knows what they're doing cause I could taste the love in every bite. (Even the bites of not-my-entree under the guise of needing to review his plate, too!). The chicken fried steak was perfectly seasoned, inside and out and the thickish gravy had a zest to it which really made the dish extra good. I was pleasantly surprised that the home fries were perfectly crisp. Usually it's the side dishes at many cafes that I find a real let down. Not here. Start to finish, everything was dinerliciously great. Five stars for executing country cafe food without cutting corners. Had enough to enjoy some for next days' lunch. It is a down home country cafe & deserves all the stars. Yeehaw!

There were only two of us, so that probably helped, but still impressive considering how busy it was. The staff was friendly and full of energy, and the bathrooms were super clean (always a plus!). I ordered the Texas Roadkill with a loaded baked potato and a house salad. The salad was a great size and tasted so fresh, and the ranch dressing was amazing--definitely had that homemade flavor. The chopped steak was delicious, and I loved the sautéed onions and mushrooms piled on top. My baked potato was perfect too, maybe just a touch too much salt on the skin, but still fabulous overall. Portions are huge--I could only eat half, which meant I had a beautiful leftover dinner for the next day! I also noticed they have early bird specials, so I definitely want to come back earlier next time and check those out. And of course, I can't forget about those rolls and cinnamon butter... melt-in-your-mouth perfection. All in all, a great birthday dinner and one of the better experiences I've had at a Texas Roadhouse. Highly recommend this location!

The atmosphere is welcoming and we found the staff (particularly Amanda) to be attentive and quite friendly. We sat at the bar. They said they were slower than usual for a Sunday, but we did go on Easter Sunday. My wife ordered the chicken wings. She likes her wings extra crispy, so she ordered her 2 sauces (garlic parmesan, and pineapple habanero) on the side. The wings were very crispy and cooked perfectly. The garlic parmesan sauce was great as was the pineapple habanero sauce, which was pretty darn hot! I ordered their award-winning Cuban burger (with ham, pulled pork, Swiss cheese and pickles). It was a bit messy but definitely delicious. I got onion rings as my side instead of fries. They were excellent and I could tell right away they were made fresh in-house. We also ordered some tater tots to share, which were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside.
