The owner allows his best friend to get obnoxiously drunk (over serves) and lets him talk or act anyway he wants. don't bother to report because the owner will side with his best friend and eventually kick you out and say they can't serve you anymore because they over serve you... Avoid unless you wanna go to a dive bar and be told how to act while smelling piss in the back ground... Definitely don't go to this place alone! read more

If only I could give this a 0 star rating.... I came in here with my mom and her best friend, we came in after a few hours at whiskey roads up the street. To paint the picture I am 21 years old, we came in a little before closing around 1:30 am I would say. The second we walked in my mom was met with a man that seemed to be between both of our age, he was trying to pick up on her and seemed pretty intoxicated. I know it's gonna be pretty likely seeing this demeanor especially at a bar. This also wasn't the first time my mom or her best friend has been in here. A few minutes later my mom and I sit at a high top table near the back corner as her best friend is talking to someone she knew. Seconds later my mom is getting hit on by yet another man- who also seemed pretty intoxicated. About a minute or two later the first man who had approached my mom came so extremely close to me to the point that he basically crotch banged my leg and asked if I was alone and if I was looking for someone.... I don't go out to look for anything, I go out to spend time with my mom and have a good time. He leaves after I decline any sort of interaction with him. I am an individual who suffers from extreme anxiety and when I don't feel safe it's a MAJOR PROBLEM. We go up to the bar so my mom's best friend and I can take a shot, then my mom's and I go to the bathroom and come back out. My moms best friend is talking to her other friend at the bar (standing) then there's 2 open seats then my mom, I'm standing next to my mom, and next to her is the individual who approached both my mom and I. I glance over and couldn't help but notice he was rubbing all up on his (you know what) over his pants like no one was watching, while looking at me, my mom, and other women. I immediately felt so uncomfortable and so unsafe I had to leave. I didn't even feel safe telling staff because I knew nothing was going to be done about this disgusting behavior and situation. This is clearly not the place for a young individual like myself let alone a young female or even any female. Since we were in the area and hungry, we decided to stop by the Old Father Inn for a bite to eat. Unfortunately, the place wasn't very appealing. To get to the front door, you have to walk past the outdoor smoking lounge, which has an unpleasant smell. We sat on the dining side, which felt quite basic. I had to request that our booth table be wiped down as it was messy. The menu features standard bar food along with a few meal options. I ordered a cheese quesadilla ($10.50) since it's hard to mess that up and a margarita ($7.00). My husband ordered the meatloaf dinner ($15.50) and enjoyed it. It came with two thick slices of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and corn. Overall, while the place wasn't the best, the food was decent and edible. We used to have this place down as a great place for fish on Fridays well no more it was terrible. I have no idea if they even remember what beer battered cad even means anymore. The flavor was horrendous I didn't even finish the first portion. On top of that NO cocktail sauce and you had to ask for ketchup which they brought out in little cups. We have lived off of Old father for a few years and have often said we shoulder this local spot. Tonight we finally got around to it and were not disappointed! Wings were spot on, some of the best I've had in. Long time. Bison burger was a decent size and tasty, husband devoured it quickly! Mozzarella sticks were delish and the quesadilla was huge and done well. Fries were generic but seasoned well to make up for it. Service was courteous and attentive without being overbearing which was something since the dining room area was pretty empty. Definitely has and older hole in the wall sports bar vibe but the food more than made up for it! We'll be back! read more

We have frequented OFI (Old Father Inn) for the better part of 35 years. We always considered it a well kept secret. The highlight has always been the food which has been unexpectedly good for many years. We would often partake of their Friday night all you can eat fish. We moved out of the area and haven't been there since before covid. Until last night. Took the wife on a date because she loves the deep fried cod. We arrived ordered 2 blue moon beers. Beer tasted odd. Ordered Michelle ultra and an 805. Both tasted weird. The beers all tasted watered down. Ordered two fish plates. Dinner arrived and we couldn't wait to eat. How disappointed. Fish was deep fried and instead of that golden brown color. It was a dark brown color and tasted oily. Seemed like it was cooked too long. Tried just the fish inside but it had no flavor. The salad was warm and not crisp. The coleslaw was warm as well. Even the wedge fries weren't as crispy as they should have been. A total waste of money and time. We couldn't even finish the meal. We took the leftovers but only for our chickens and ducks at home. Very disappointed. We will never go back sad to say. Oh...the smell of Marijuana from the staff as they walked by....maybe something to do with it. I can't recommend this place anymore. Goodbye OFI. read more

I could write a novella but I'll keep it brief so u don't stop reading my review. I was new to town...was a drinker...so I drank at every bar in the area. I was doing yelp in my own mind. This is my favorite bar in Tucson. Why is that? 1. Amy...vic...melissa...Jessica...the staff. #1 bar staff in all my travels..not just AZ. They actively try to learn ur name and ur drink and if its slow and they r not swamped they r top notch conversationalists. 2. Speaks to number one. Fantastic security. They r not dickish stoic bouncer robots. They r alert and there to step in...but they r friendly while they canvass the room. 3. I was not there a ton during the day but if u r into off track horse betting there r a lotta regulars having a lot of fun. Old fathers Kentucky derby has a line around 3 blocks every year and is unmatched. 4. Games (my fav): pool, darts, arcade bowling, buck hunter. 5. From what I understand the karaoke is legendary but i drank during the covid not allowed year. 6. I usually just drank and played games/watched sports...Food wise I think I only ordered the fish and chips but it was PROPER great. And thats not an easy meal to make great in random American pubs. * I should note there IS a separate dining area for groups/families...during the day I've seen kids have a blast eating in the booths...then maybe playing bowling and buck hunter. U cant miss their Halloween, x mas, nye, etc. My favorite bar in Tucson and I DID audition a lot. *For all the 3 to one star reviews....id just say maybe they walked into a pub that didn't correspond w what they were looking for. Old Father Inn, Tucson AZ denied this 100% disabled 20 year veteran entry into their family restaurant on 12/16/19. The restaurant staff and management wrongly asked this handler for a registration card. ADA laws does not allow for a general public business to ask for a registration card; as there is no such card. The question a business can ask...Is your dog a service dog? And what task does it perform? That is it! Instead, we were pounced on by the waitress demanding a registration card. When I tried to explain to the staff that there is no such legal card, they accused us of bringing into their establishment a fake service dog. Now, I do not need to say this, but anyone looking or listening to this disabled handler can tell that he has problems. It is a shame that I have to say that, here or anywhere!! Shame on these heartless employees of Old Father Inn. So now we know that Old Father Inn only allows fake service dogs with fake registrations!!! Fake service dogs are a danger to innocent patrons. The service was friendly and efficient by the bartender. We both ordered a Cobb Salad. They were OK but definitely not like any Cobb Salad that I've ever had. Just went to this place tonight to cool off from the heat. So I figured I'd try it, and I liked the atmosphere because I'm from a small town and this place reminded of home . Those little hang out dive bars but it's homey for me, and being that there is OTB there made it fun for me I enjoyed it. But the bad that disappoints me is that the air I guess wasn't working well, it was stuffy and it was very hot inside. The drinks we're cold and decent just as you expected to be like others. Big place open space and ... the worst of it all . I was going to stay longer until there was a weird stench in the air , didn't know where it came from but enough to make me leave . Other than that, it's a nice place to hang out and have a cold one , nothing amazing but enjoyable. read more

This place is in front of a laundromat, so while my clothes were in the dryer I dropped in for lunch. I ordered the BBQ beef sandwich with onion rings ($9.39 plus tax and tip). It sucked. The BBQ sauce was awful, the bun was soggy from the sauce, and the onion rings weren't very good either. There's not much to say about the run-down sports bar decor. Service was slow at times even though the place was almost empty. I may use that laundromat again, but I won't return here. read more

Guys, this is primarily a bar with a side restaurant. I suggest having a few drinks before trying the food and here's why: there were 5 of us... we got nachos as an appetizer and it was clear it was the bottom of the bag of chips - you know what I mean. And that's fine if the toppings compensate but ... well... they absolutely did not. I even got the corn on the side because I LOVE corn but took one bite and maybe it was spoiled or rotten or ... just gross! my son ordered the potato skins (he loves them!), said they were tasteless and only choked down two out of five. My daughter ordered the Caesar salad and it came with literally no dressing. My husband and I shared the Ruben with slaw and I know all slaw is made differently but this had to be the second worst I've ever had. My husband said there was very little sauce on the sandwich and couldn't finish it, I didn't even try my half of the sandwich after the slaw, that ruined my appetite. My other son got the chicken sandwich and he is the LEAST picky eater on the planet and thought the chicken sandwich was really dry. We arrived with our service dog in training for my Disabled Veteran. The dog can not be certified untiL she passes her training. She let out one small bark and the bartender asked to see her service card which is against Arizona law that affords service dogs in training the same rights as a service dog. I know it's up to you what do you want to stay here or go down on the far is it do you try to far and that she's quiet here I just don't wannaShe then asked us to leave without finishing our drinks and chips. This is an established NW dive bar. They are still open for a reason. If a dive bar is what you are in the mood for and you are on the NW side of town, this is where you should go. It's not classy, but compared to the other options in the area, it's A-OK. On occasion they have decent bands on Friday and Saturday nights, and the dance floor can get packed if the right crowd is out. They also have an outside area for smokers and to cool off if the dance floor is hot. There are pool tables and horse race betting as well. My only complaint about this bar is that they only have two bartenders. Ever. When it's busy, when it's slow, when it's jam packed on a Friday night. This to me is a shame, because no one should have to wait 10 minutes to get a drink. That's what we came for. It would be advisable for them to put a couple extra girls behind the bar on the busy weekend nights. read more

I went here recently for lunch with my mom since we were in the neighborhood. It's very much a bar atmosphere. While the dining area is separated from the bar and billiards area, we could still hear the rowdy bar crowd. The menu was what you'd typically expect from this type of establishment: burgers and finger foods. The food was all OK, the service average. I decided to take home some of the soup since I had a sore throat. What makes this place less than three stars is the customer care. When she slid into the booth, my mom's jeans were ripped on a nail that could have easily torn through exposed skin. Rather than try to make this right with us with a free meal or an attempt to reimburse her for her pants, the waitress said that the cook would come out and push the nail in further. That's all well and good for the next person who sits at that booth while having the audacity to wear pants, but what about us?! To add insult to injury, I got home and the soup container was only 1/3 full. We won't be returning, and you shouldn't go. Not without a tetanus shot anyway. read more

We decided to try Old Father Inn for lunch - I am sorely disappointed. We ordered Bacon wrapped Shrimp Skewers, and they were out. We ordered deep fried mushrooms, which were good - but the ranch dressing was so runny that there is no way it would stay on the mushroom. We also ordered a TOASTED club sandwich substituting Onion rings vs. fries, they are out of onion rings! The TOASTED would pass as barely warm bread and it was VERY dry. Because I believe that everyone deserves a 2nd chance, I will try them again, but it won't be soon! read more
