It's difficult to find a place that's both family friend and not lame. This place has fit the bill for us. Especially since it's a Chicago Bears Bar!! My son and I had an hour to kill and want our hour back. The atmosphere is great. I like what they've done with the place, but because we only ordered two appetizers they didn't hook us with the food at all. Who can mess up cheese and chips? Those were the worst chips we've had in our life, seriously, they tasted burnt and were so thick, one bite and we were both done. The cheese was supposed to be melted but because they only had one waitress that took forever, not her fault with no help, the cheese was hard as a rock. We should have video'd our attempt to put extra thick brown chip in brownish orange hard cheese. We gave it back immediately, with a smile (or no rudeness anyway as we felt the waitress knew no one eats this). We didn't get our money back and didn't ask because that would take another 20 minutes. Our deviled eggs didn't look like the photos others have posted with seasoning and scallions, but they were fine. So sorry we will NOT be back unless it's for water or a bottled drink. I just ate here today. I've eaten here before and the food was really good. But today it sucked! I ordered the grilled chicken and the chicken was as dry as leather. The green beans had no flavor to them. My wife ordered the mac and cheese with brisket. It made me wonder where was the brisket. So she paid $15 for mac and cheese which was also under seasoned. I had to order another meal but they were taking so long I had to cancel it. Because we had to go. In the past the food was very delicious. They used to have a chicken fried steak to die for. But now all their food is just nasty. The only thing we enjoyed out of the meal was the deep fried pickles. You spent a total of $30 and the only thing we enjoyed was the fried pickles and our sodas and that's it. I felt like I got ripped off. Plus I didn't even get to eat just my wife. Not what we were expecting. Surprised the ratings are this high. I thought it would be similar to a Buffalo Wild Wings or a sports bar restaurant but it's basically just a bar with some food. I don't have any major complaints or think it was a BAD place; I was just very uncomfortable the whole time. They told us to seat ourselves and there are like 5 giant tables in a small room so you have to sit at tables with others. The other couple at our table was there for the first time too and left after 1 drink. Another couple and their daughter, as well as another group of women, both walked in and walked right back out. There are lots of appetizers and not too many entrees. I got the Mac and cheese with pork belly and it was pretty basic with only a sprinkle of a couple small cubes of pork. The burger my fiancé got was like a fast food burger. They did have my favorite beer but we won't be back. It's definitely a place for a certain type of crowd read more

After golf today (Saturday 4:30) pm we were headed to Torchies because they have a full bar, but decided a burger sounded better...Being fairly new to RR, I did a Yelp search and FINLEYS popped up. Read the reviews, looked at the pictures and we decided to give it a try. So here we are sitting on the patio and I don't think we will leave. The atmosphere is just right. Stylish & laidback with good music. My husband just said to me, "I think I finally found the place I've been looking for." Great drinks - I'm loving the Patio Sipper and hubby was thrilled to find Jellyfish IPA on the menu. We recommend the fried pickles which have a nice, small spicy kick and the SACK OF BALLS, which are pure happiness with a cheesy middle. I'm totally ordering a BYOB burger; certain it will be great. We went during their soft opening and it was great! Service was a little slow but they're still figuring out how busy certain nights will be. The cocktails were good but kind of pricey. Definitely get the fried pickles! I had the lobster rolls and they were delicious. They come with chips, but I may sub fries next time. My boyfriend got a burger and his fries were amazing. Food and drinks are over priced. I was double charged for my bill and manager did not fix the error or apologize. 2 hours after contacting the manager about the issue, still with no fix to the problem, I put this review up and I immediately got a call from the owner of Finley's yelling at me and harassing me for putting a bad review up. He told me that if I keep the review up that he will not refund the $60 that was double charged. I told him that what he was saying was illegal and that I had already reported the double charge to my bank, he then told me that I was not allowed at Finley's ever again and hung up on me. His wife, the manager also text me a rude message about my review and an employee called me childish for putting my experience on yelp. I ordered the cheese and meat platter and deviled eggs as well as the fried pickles. First let me comment on the cheese and meat platter. I looked at the picture to see what I was supposed to get and compared it to what I actually got and I was quite disappointed. For example The picture clearly show the meat was neatly sliced with olives and several crackers and other meats and cheeses. In comparison my platter had one giant slab of salami that wasn't even cut correctly two or three squares of cheese, no olives and a handful of some weird looking meet at about five crackers. All of this for the grand total of $18 which I thought was quite expensive for such a poorly crafted product. Secondly, the fried pickles were soaked in grease and quite dark as if they had been fried in old chicken grease it was quite disappointing. My last side of the deviled eggs were so so they weren't very tasty and they only consisted of mayonnaise and eggs. I think about these difficult times and I'm trying to give the local restaurants and helping hand. But when dollars are tight it is quite disappointing that you end up with a meal that was barely palatable. Needless to say this is my first and last visit. read more

Be careful when ordering drinks here. I ordered a ranch water, and when asked what type of tequila I'd like, I said 1800. You know... the middle shelf stuff next to Jose Cuervo in the liquor store. Got the bill and they charged me $41 for that one. Apparently there is a rare version that costs exorbitantly more money than my humble (and quite frankly--common) 1800. Mind you, I'm sitting at a plastic picnic table for this whole dining experience with the rest of my drinks costing $4...doesn't really scream like a place that would carry incredibly top shelf tequila. Bartender took some off the top when I inquired, but it was still quite expensive. Apparently it was me and my (brand new) waiter's fault for poor communication? The waiter was horrified at his blunder. I'm blaming the bartender for not training the staff better on this one though. I order this drink commonly enough to have never had this problem before. Ordered an old fashioned from the bar, cocktail was spot on. Surprisingly good selection of bourbon for a place in round rock. The inside dining room is a bit loud with all the hard surfaces and nothing to absorb the sound. I had to yell across the table to talk with my friends. Overall the burger and fries had good flavor, but I had to knock my review down to four stars because of the patty. A burger patty should have a hard crust from high heat on the outside and be pink in the middle. All our burgers were a consistent pale brown and lacking texture, as if they were boiled. These issues are easily fixed, will definitely be back in the coming months to see if I can bump this place up to five stars. read more

I've been a few times since the change in ownership and was initial excited about a few things (the hot honey dipping sauce for the cheese curds, for example) but it didn't take long for my two go-to menu items to be removed- the club and Reuben sandwiches. Today, I arrived a little before 3pm, didn't see anything about it only being the brunch menu until after 3pm, and ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of broccoli. The bartender said she would have to wait a few minutes until after 3pm to ring my order in. Several minutes after that she comes back to say I couldn't get broccoli because "it messes the kitchen up to do substitutions when they're busy". I don't know if I could have gotten it as a separate side at additional cost. At nearly 3:25pm, I finally get my sandwich. Disappointing is an understatement. It was basically shredded pork roast with no BBQ flavor besides the BBQ sauce. I ate, paid, and left but basically see no reason to go back. read more

Tried brunch. Fail from beginning to end. 30min+ to get food. Nothing fancy (look at the menu). We were 1 of 2 tables. Orders came out separately. The first one to come out was wrong. And cold ( they don't have heat lamps according to the waitress).The Bloody Mary (I bypassed the bar and asked the bartender make it) was horrible and I ended up at the bar making it myself. They had 4 cooks in the kitchen and 4 waitresses. She said everything was slow to come out because they want to perfect their food before coming out. - they use "frozen pre-made "hash browns" (equivalent to Chik fila hash browns) and a machine and pre-made batter for the bubble cone. For these prices and lack of flexibility they should take better pride and make food from scratch. Never again. read more

I've made numerous visits to Finley's, since they opened. It's always a great experience! The atmosphere is unique, especially for the Round Rock area. There are two spacious outdoor areas with plenty of seating, TVs, and games like corn hole available. The interior is cozy with bar seating and a number of large tables with shared seating. I like this idea, as it promotes a sense of community. The offerings from the kitchen and bar are fantastic! The menu includes a great mix of standards and items that you may not have seen anywhere else. Definitely something for everyone, and it's all really tasty! I particularly like their brunch and Saturday and Sunday. There are some great drink specials, including a $5 bloody mary bar. They also have weekly special offerings for eggs benedict and avocado toast. Where Finley's really shines, however, is the service. All of the staff is friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Behind the bar, Melissa P. particularly stands out. Sometimes at a bar, you can feel like you've disappeared. This is never the case with Melissa.
